Critical Firefox Exploits How fast can they fix it...
Odyssey replied to Rik?'s topic in Security issues & Exploits
I aint too worried about the patches for Firefox considering I already have a good firewall protecting other prople from hacking me. But I do hope that Mozilla comes out with an update very soon though :S -
I just updated my forum with the latest updates. I also got an email from the phpBB team saying that theres an update.I like to use phpBB, but I might switch over to Invision Power Board because it is much more secure. I always dont like to update my forumm, it gets annoying after a while. The only reason why I am sticking with phpBB is so I can customize it easy.

Well, since Adobe bought out Macromedia, it wil be interesting what Adobe comes up with for web development. I use Macromedia products frequently for my web editing, and I cant be more than happier with them

Google Web Accellerator! Google makes surfing faster
Odyssey replied to moldboy's topic in Search Engines
Heh, just tried it for a day, and I saved 15 minutes on my browsing time!Amazing that the Google Web accellerator isnt spyware, like the other free ones that you can download off of other websites. -
Meh, I should be safe. I never accept anything through MSN unless I know what it is, and I trust it. I also have an Antivirus, so I should be safe

I can say that I havent been bullied yet at my school. My school has some extremely strict policies when dealing with bullies.

I had a problem also with PHPnuke, when I install it it said it couldnt find the database, but the database was there, and this was from installing it from the Fantastico from cPanel. Strange....

Firefox Or Internet Explorer that is the question...
Odyssey replied to Judman's topic in The Internet
I currently use Firefox, mainly because it is a much more secure browser than Internet Explorer because it blocks ads, ActiveX scripts, and toolbars. The most liked feature that I like in Firefox is the ability to do tabbed browsing. It is an extremely useful feature, and I use it constantlyIts nice to see more than 50,000 people download Firefox, and that is since from December.Mozilla... Keep up the great products! -
The security updates from Windows Update has crashed my computer several times. XP service pack 2 was the majopr one because of my nVidia drivers, and the other one was when I let Windows Update install updated drivers for ny nVidia card. It affected performance that much that I needed to reformat my computer.

Huh, seems like Google wants to make another page on something mysterious that they dont want us to know about

Another Interesting Google Feature Your dictionary lacking?
Odyssey replied to beeseven's topic in Search Engines
Yep, that feature of Google has been around for quite some time, I use it frequently. Go Google! -
I just finished trying out the new version of photoshop. It is extremely bad at eating RAM and hard drive space, but of course I have a crappy computer. There is really noting new in this version of Photoshop that I would use. But is terrible at draining resources though.

Hi there! I currently got my account upgraded over the weekend to the next package, and it was approved! http://forums.xisto.com/topic/21161-free-web-hosting-odyssey-website-upgrade-odysseytrap17com/ But... I went into cPanel earlier that day and it showed that I have 150 megs of space. (so I could install a context management system) Then I logged in today, and it suddenly said that I have 20 megs? Could someone look into that? Greatly appreciated!

Free Message Board Needs Php Can I have it?
Odyssey replied to Fun4TheMoney's topic in Websites and Web Designing
After when you get enough credits, you can always upgrade your hosting account to the next package. I would recommend only running one phpBB on the basic package, because it does use a lot of SQL space, not much disk space, but nainly bandwidth, if you have frequent visitors. -
Free Message Board Needs Php Can I have it?
Odyssey replied to Fun4TheMoney's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I know a couple of people who have made their own php messageboards from scratch, it seems interesting to make, but I bet there probably lots of flaws, so im not going to take the risk! Idrather stick with my phpBB because at least I know there isnt that many flaws, and if there is one, I get notified my email to upgrade my message boards to the latest one! -
Test Your Pop-up Blocker Test your pop-up blocker
Odyssey replied to antny's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Just tested the popup blocker, everything seems to be working accordingly. Nothing poped up. I use Firefox and Internet Security. Nice website though to test how strong your popup blocker is! Thanks for sharing it with us! -
Help With Hotmail I need some help with using hotmail
Odyssey replied to M.A.S.T.E.R.'s topic in Security issues & Exploits
There probably is a port that you open up to allow transfers, I forget what one exactly, but just Google it, and it should tell you. I had the same problems, and since I opened it, everything seems to work well. -
Adsense Tool Preview the types of ads that will be displayed
Odyssey replied to dodgerblue's topic in Search Engines
But isnt ad sense from Google only for business websites, if not, I wouldnt mind to implement them onto my website, since I have frequent visitors. Just a thought. -
I agree, it woule make a gigantic program. If maybe Adobe watered down their version of photoshop, and implement it into Dreamweaver, maybe it wont be so huge? Maybe adobe can release Photoshop CS, and Dreamweaver as seperate programs, but in one package that has a bit of a discount if bought together. Imagine, how many people use Photoshop and Dreamweaver together? I did for my schools website, and the cost of both programs were phonominal.

I agree, Firefox is a good browser, its nice that 50,000 people have downloaded such a great browser.

I think the main reason why we switched browsers so many time was cause people claimed Netscape was so good back in the day. To bad that they got rid of the Communicator series, it was a good browser
