  1. I like Damann's, but both are good. It seems Damann's is a little more "smoother". I love the color selection...
  2. I'm big on just goin to dictionary.com, but that's cool too, google is sick...
  3. Inspired by the Hollywood hit "Meet the Fockers", a women is out to start a new trend - teaching kittens how to use the toilet. She's inventing a three step training system where cats can do their business where dogs frequently grab their ice cold beverage. What is wrong with society? Is this really necessary? Do we really need to imagine the possibilty of finding our pets in a pool of unflushed human waste? Below is the link to the article... The new invention
  4. I find this quite humorous. I use Yahoo to update me on all the sporting news, and just now I realize that the NHL link has been replaced with a new link, plan ol' "Hockey". I guess "NHL" doesn't exist anymore? (At least to Yahoo it doesn't) I'm a huge hockey fan so I'm saddened these adjustments are made, when will the NHL be viewable as a link again???
  5. Wow huge code, that'll help a bunch of people, I may even try it out. Nice snlildude.
  6. As we venture though the advancements in technology, people are definitely out to prove the facts about God. I've had my questions about God, and my faith is unstable to this day, but I do believe that God exists. It is only what you believe in, God will not prove He is watching over us, that is what free will is all about. He has given us the choice to either believe or not believe, so express your free will and find out what your faith believes.
  7. Obviously yes and no...The internet is the ultimate source for researching stuff. Basically everything you could think of is on the internet, so if people surfed just to learn stuff you could get fairly smart...that would be a dull life.It is bad for you too. Gettin hooked on gaming, chatting, and yes, the dirty films and pictures can harm the social life and other things...too much computer and it'll be bad for you...
  8. I'm the ultimate Seinfeld freak...I've heard about the superman and how in some way it's involved in every show, but I don't pay attention to it...that's pretty wicked though...love that show.As for the hurricane and the energy it releases...how bout we try and harness that stuff geez...we got the technology...
  9. Welcome!!! Everyone here is very helpful...hope you enjoy the community, I think you'll love it.
  10. Girls? Well, I guess I'd say I'm not the best when it comes to women. I'm definitely not a nerd - I'm very outgoing, sexy, and I have the go-with-the-flow attitude (Yes, I admit my sexiness). Unfortunately, I'm very picky with the women I like (I had a crush on this girl since 5th grade and still can't get over it at age 20). From this, when I'm chit chatting with a girl they are always compared to the crush girl (very bad desicion making), so in the end I haven't had a GF in a long long time. The Verdict - Bad with the ladies, disgustingly subpar, need a good ol' attitude adjustment.
  11. I am not really aware of the whole deal with his death, yet I'm a big fan of his music. I do in fact believe he is dead, but who knows?
  12. gotta like the mini fridge...convenience is the main factor. Wow, not even having to leave my bedroom to get an ice cold beverage, umm a soda (cough), is just great. The only problem is I don't have one, but all my roommates do. I'm a college student so mini fridges are helpful when fighting visitors who frequently come and look for scraps...ah, those varmits.
  13. Ok the initial post confused the crap out of me but here's my thought...stay away from relationships - waste of time and money - only if you know she's not for real...there's surely girls you meet where you think "how could I spend the rest of my life with her?" ...Just wait till the real deal comes along, patience my friend, patience...
  14. Yes, thanks to my financial instability I was unable to purchase powerpoint when I bought my computer, nice try you filty pirates.
  15. "organization"I don't know if how you spelled it was intentional, but it's spelled "organization" in several dictionary's.---Just a thought
  16. I was away in Canada this weekend, so I was unable to respond to these posts until now... Evidently, and according to my eyes, you did mention wylit about how students aren't receiving a good education in the classroom, you did not just target "slim to no education in the home". Anyways there is no need to argue and fuss, but we do have our own opinions. My opinion on the topic of education funding cutbacks is this - the government doesn't care how you do it, and what you do it with money wise, they expect the school districts to perform at their very best. Here's how it is in Pennsylvania. A school's funding is determined on the results from a yearly PSSA test given to students. It is how the students perform that determines the amount of funding that school receives. If the school does great overall, they'll get more money than a school who didn't do as well. Harsh? Maybe, but that puts more responsiblity on teachers to prepare students and more responsibility on administrators to get their teachers to excel at their positions. Finally, if a teacher doesn't have the notion to do well at their job because they don't get good benefits, then they should be fired. Take your problems up with the administrators but don't let it affect your students. ----- Johnny - I will face it, everyone says it, but its how they use it that's unnecessary. When most people use the word "retard" its used in a derogatory manner. The very first post on this topic compared internet chat as gay and retarded. Using the word retarded, I guess, showed the individuals' disgust for internet chatting. It's the same thing if I were to use, lets say, a racial comment to describe my disgust for something. It's not appropriate so say, so I don't say it. Using the word "retard" in the fashion in which it was used was inappropriate, so I felt it wasn't necessary. And please don't tell me comparing "*bottom*" to a donkey is the same as using the word "retard". "Retards" are people you know...Mentally Retarded individuals who can't necessarily defend themselves. On the other hand, homosexuals can defend themselves, so I'm not that offended when it is used in a certain fashion. Basically when these and other words are used its just like pointing out a certain individual who possess these traits and making fun of them - - - if you're an adult speak like one, if you're a young one hopefully you'll mature. These are my opinions, yet I will still respect yours...
  17. First off snlildude that language you are using is troubling, but I understood the smiley's .Secondly, to comment in response to wylit's commentary, I disagree that the education students are receiving is sub-par and should be improved. At least in Pennsylvania, becoming a teacher has a ridiculous amount of requirements. I am an education major so I know the whole deal. I do believe, in my view, that the parents of children should receive the blame for the students' success/failure. Parents these days tend to let their children wander off into life freely without much guidance or responsibility. From this, children would put off school work and concentrate on other things - sports, tv, internet, even making websites. I am kinda shocked that there are many young kids in this forum. Although I have nothing against it, kids should concentrate heavily on their school work and leave stuff like this and other leisure activities for weekends. Xisto forum requirements are kinda tough for some people posting wise, you must post on a daily basis to maintain your website. I'm sure alot of the younger folks put in a lot of time with their websites and staying involved in the forums, and I'm convinced that that could have a negative impact on not only their grades, but their social life as well. When kids have free time, they should be with friends, not stuck on a computer all day long. With that said, I also blame technology. Computers offer so much to do, and it become an addiction to some, and although the internet can offer a wealth of information for students, rarely is that information searched. To summarize, kids these days are not getting the parental guidance needed to become disciplined in their school work and thus they are directed elsewhere (computers and internet) during times they should concentrate on school, and when they don't need to focus on school, technology becomes the alternative for many instead of being active with friends in the great outdoors. As for the online glitter talk, I could care less about it. As long as I can understand what is being said I don't care how the message is relayed. Sure I've received messages that I couldn't quite understand, but thats no biggy - its the beauty of an online conversation, and it's not going to change. If you don't like the internet chat language, then don't chat, otherwise, adjust. As for the topic starter - Retarded - a person with a mental disability that permanently affects the individual, properly used as Mentally Retarded.Gay - Used to mean happy, I'd be full of nonesense to define gay as that, but obviously it's an male or female in a relationship with the same sex.I don't feel internet chat can be described in relationship to these two words. You talk about proper grammer - you should be ashamed of yourself. I am very familiar in dealing with Mentally Retarded individuals, and your comment insulted me. No need for you to improperly use the term. You initial post presented a viewpoint in which you yourself violated...think about what you type before you type it.
  18. round, I disagree just a little bit about posting. I've gotten to 17 credits and have maintained that amount just by posting once or twice a day, and those aren't to significant of posts (length). Just look to post around 7 - 10 times a week...good posts...and everything should be fine. As for reputation, I'm not too concerned with mine...just as long as it doesn't drop to -10 or somethin...that'd be concerning
  19. This is my login.php...your reply confused me a lot but what would I change here...? If nothing is changed here is what your talking about in my register.php? login.php <?/** * Checks whether or not the given username is in the * database, if so it checks if the given password is * the same password in the database for that user. * If the user doesn't exist or if the passwords don't * match up, it returns an error code (1 or 2). * On success it returns 0. */function confirmUser($username, $password){ global $conn; /* Add slashes if necessary (for query) */ if(!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $username = addslashes($username); } /* Verify that user is in database */ $q = "select password from users where username = '$username'"; $result = mysql_query($q,$conn); if(!$result || (mysql_numrows($result) < 1)){ return 1; //Indicates username failure } /* Retrieve password from result, strip slashes */ $dbarray = mysql_fetch_array($result); $dbarray['password'] = stripslashes($dbarray['password']); $password = stripslashes($password); /* Validate that password is correct */ if($password == $dbarray['password']){ return 0; //Success! Php + Mysql

I believe I provided a link to a good tutorial that worked for me in the Hosted Members area. You can search my posts and find the link I have for it...it's the only tutorial that's worked for me - and it's really simple to understand.
  21. Although I'm doing some tweaking, I have finally got just about everything down in developing a login feature to my website, but just one problem. The session terminates too quickly. For instance, someone will be instructed to login, and after browsing a couple pages, it'll come up again that the user is not logged in. In addtion, this occurs frequently but not all the time. What can I do that will eliminate this inconvience to my viewers?
  22. I don't play but 3 roommates of mine play and we jam to led zep or dmb all the time!!! I'll throw in Red Hot Chili Peppers and OAR too we love pluckin the strings.
  23. Well if you were to use curse words...I would prevent myself from using certain words at all cost...besides there are many young folks in this forum, I don't think it would be appropriate. If you have any content that is suitable for all audiences, why not just start with them first!Btw, if you don't have any suitable content, then you're SICK. Trust me, I am fluent in poetry and I like to write alot, and I have some adult themed poems and lyrics, but I also have appropriate lyrics too. I don't think what you want to put on here would flow too well with the admins so think twice before you post.
  24. Tell u what...I've yet to encounter any errors with Xisto, this site rocks!!!
  25. MISTY MOUNTAIN AND FOOL IN THE RAIN!!! Please people you guys can't forget about those two!!!
