I've been here for over 2 months, I've never encountered a major problem and posting and staying active in the forums is never a big issue, a couple posts a day can get the job done.What people must understand is that Xisto provides you with so much for free, but in order for them to do this you need to give something back, and that is posting in the forums. Xisto gives me much more than I need, but as I learn more (thanks to everyone here in the forums) I'll be sure to use everything given to me.Xisto may require you to do more than you are currently able, but it is very clear what is asked of you to do. I'm sorry you don't have the time to stay active, but in no means do I think Xisto is going downhill. Yes, I do think things could be improved, but I believe in due time things will improve, so sorry you may not be around to see it...best of luck to you.

I had cable internet at school, it was bad at times, I kept having to mess with the modems and stuff bc I or it had to reset my ip address, something stupid the cable sp told me. DSL, on the other hand, is what I have at home during the summer. Never have I come into one problem with DSL, and I think it is about just as fast. I have yet to be disconnected from the internet (happened frequently with cable for some reason)....final verdict...DSL!!!

Yeah I used to be a huge chess fan and I was gettin pretty good at it too, but I don't care for internet chess, because, as previously stated, players sometimes are too slow and back out of game and all of that other junk. I can't stand it. Only once in a while can you find a good opponent that doesn't abuse time. Thanks for the links though, I may give the free site a try just for the heck of it...

I have always been good friends with this girl. I am now a junior in college and I have had a crush on this girl since early grade school, yeah, that's a long time. I talked to her about my feelings when we graduated and she told me she wanted to remain friends. We've stayed close during college and hang with each other often in the summers. I guess she had a relationship earlier this year with some other guy but that didn't last too long and they recently broke up (to the best of my knowledge). I don't know if I should make a move or just remain in the relationship we're currently in because I don't know how she feels about me. I don't know why I can't look past her, why I continuously look at her and want to be with her. I know I'm running out of time as I'm soon to graduate from college. Has anyone ever been in this kind of situation? What happened, and if it never worked out, how did you get over her? I don't ever see myself able to do it.

Dell is the way to go, they have a good system that can let you customize your computer, but I have an HP and I really like it, no big problems yet out of it.

I know this is the time where I am supposed to help you with your question, but my problem is getting Windows Media Player to open. I can't get it to do that!!! You're problem is the complete opposite of mine. I don't understand the complete question, but what my multimedia does is play in an embedded player. Is that what you want to do with your site - open multimedia in a new, mini window with an embedded player?

My DSL gives me no problems loading this page, and who cares about the ads? Without them and you're without free hosting.

If you have DSL or a cable internet connection, Xisto will load up in no time, it is the dial up ISP's that are horrible. I had AOL (I actually just said goodbye to it yesterday) and I could hardly ever have the patience enough to let the forum load, but dial up sucks, all webpages take forever to load.Put up all the ads you want, you guys really got somethin' good here. (One thing though, I don't like that ad with the photosnap, you ever hear that? Ughh).One more note, get rid of all the mods? Explain that a little further to make your case....

To respond to your opinion, I believe that if a "pet section" was opened up in the forums then many other people would request other topics to be placed in the forum. I think there should be a limit to the discussions, and the stuff that you do love, whether it be pets or sports, should be limited to general talk in a particular post. I like the Xisto forums because of its broad discussions on website constuction and help. I am either able to find an answer on a topic already discussed, or start a new one and receive feedback in a matter of minutes. That is what I think this forum is all about. Sure, we have The Real World section for stuff not related to websites or computers, but that's not the purpose of the forum in my mind. For a topic as specific as yours, many others would come out with their own ideas and expect theirs to be put up as well. We want the forum to be a community where help is always there when you need it. We want the new members who join Xisto to not only be active in the forums, but be active in helping others, writing tutorials, etc., and making quality posts at the same time. There should be a limitation to the amount of glitter talk the forum has. Time on the computer varies for everyone, esp. college students. For me, I spent alot of time using my computer while I was at school. Now that I am home for the summer and working constantly, I'm on alot less. I'd say an hour at home and 5 hours at school.

Come on people, we landed on the moon. I hate these arguments that people make, but the initial evidence presented makes it valid I guess. To me, space has zero gravity. When you put up a flag at zero gravity, any motion that flag gained by its initial movement would remain constant, thus the flag would wave in space. I don't know if that is scientifically substantial validity, but that's my view...

All of my friends have been IM'ing me this virus - I haven't seen this under a topic so I'm posting it. You'll receive an IM from someone with the wording similar to this "Hey check out this. If you are dumb and careless enough to click it you get this virus that will forward the message to everyone on your buddy list. I haven't asked my friends what else the virus does, but I'm just letting you all know. This may not be a devastating virus, but don't fall prey to these internet goofballs!!!

I'm on alot. I love the community and chatting with everyone. This is a great place to learn new tricks in website making and design, so I'm always looking for new ideas and HTML codes. Let's just say I'm on about 6 times a day...

Mine is left on constantly, and I don't have too many problems with it. But once the system's memory gets too low I have to restart. I'm not real knowledgeable when it comes to knowing whether leaving it on or turning it off is the right decision, but my computer runs the same as it did when I turned it on for the first time.
