  1. Hey guys I found a tutorial that fixed my problem...thanks to all that tried to help...I believe the tutorial link I found is under the hosted members area, it is a really easy step by step guide that include improvements to the original php codes, thanks again everyone.
  2. As many know, my frustrations lately have been from one thing...trying to implement a login and registration part to my site. Welp, after browsing the net I found the tutorial that made it work for me. I did not get one error when I copied and pasted the codes...so for anyone who has had endless trouble implementing this feature into your website, click on the link below, it worked for me. You can also, on that website tutorial, browse through the comments below all of the codes, there is some addtional information that you can learn to enhance your login and registration script. Hope this helps some people cause it helped me!!! Also a quick thanks to everyone on the forum who tried to help me through this click here

  9. I've been asking for a lot of help lately cause I'm rather new to all of this stuff. I'm trying to encorporate log in and registrating pages to the website. I've looked at tutorials on the forum and others on the net. My biggest problems is connecting successfully to the databases I set up for the installation of this feature...I just can't seem to get it right. Does anyone know of database tutorials on the web or on the forum I may not have found? If someone would like to help and needs specific info on my problems I can detail it...I'm really getting frustrated...whatever anyone can do to help me would be great thanks...

  11. Yoofus welcome to Xisto enjoy it here!!!
  12. The US of A has decided to sell up to two dozen "sophisticated" F-16 fighter planes to Pakistan. This is a token of appreciation apparently for Pakistan's help in the war on terror. You think this is a good move by America? https://www.yahoo.com/news/?ref=gs
  13. I am a sophmore at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. My major is elementary education.
  14. I guess I won't be eating at Wendy's anytime soon. Apparently a finger was found in a bowl of chili....wow, and the customer actually didn't recognize it until they had taken a bite....oh I'm emotional just typing it. Below is the link. https://www.yahoo.com/news/?ref=gs Notice from snlildude87: Interchanged Topic Title and Description
  15. snlildude sorry bout the mix up, that's how I understood the system at the time, thanks for the clarification
  16. I'm sure there are some links that can assist you in your questions, but I'm in the mood to type. I don't care about the points but maybe 1 would be nice .Here's what I understand, hopefully I'm not wrong. The credit system works depending on the quality of your posts. If you post something of quality, such as a tutorial on how to do something, you will receive a good amount of points. If you post a simple response without much text, you won't receive much, you probably wont even receive one point. Points will not go up fast according to how many posts you put up - its based on quality. Points decrease, I believe, at the rate of 1 point per day, so if you have 10 accumulated points, in 10 days without posting you would return to zero. Gain 10 points and you qualify for package 1. Gain 30 and you can apply for package 2. You don't have to apply for package 1 before applying for package 2, but after your application is accepted for the desired package, your points automatically reset to 5, so if you're aiming for the second package which features more space and bandwidth, preserve your points and skip applying for package one. Do not let your points go under 3, keep posting to gain a safe amount of points, if not your site will be frozen and eventually terminated (I believe if points are in the negative). This makes sure you're active and productive in the forum!!! I think that about covers your first question. If you are applying for a free package (1 or 2) you have to post on the forums. When you get enough points you will be able to apply for a free domain (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/). If you want to pay I don't believe you have to participate in the forums. As for the third question, I believe you are referring to 'hosting credits'. Only moderators and administrators can hand out points, I believe no member can do so. Again points are handed out according to size and content. Moderators can and will look over your posts, especially the posts you make before applying for packages. Since you can't give out hosting points, you can give out reputaion points as consolidation. I don't have any reputation points, start distributing if this helped at all!!!
  17. Haha what's up? The only person I know who's familiar with Australia is my good buddy who's actually down there right now. He's an exchange student from the University of Pittsburgh and he tells me he's LOVIN IT!
  18. I'm not an administrator or a moderator but I understand the reasoning behind it all. I'm sure I can't give you the reasons OpaQue would give you, but if you want a site with no ads this is just the best way to go. Posting on the forums is a good way for people to learn new stuff or get good help with a problem they have. I don't know a lot of the stuff many others on Xisto do but that's just the thing - its so easy to learn or get help when I need it. People usually respond to my questions in a flash - it's so helpful. This is the best way to go if you do not want to pay for a website. This has so many features its unbelievable...at least to me it does . I understand, and I'm sure you do, that Xisto is a business, and in order to make money advertisements is a way to make profit. Many hosts will offer you a free site, but you have to place ads on your pages. Everyone has to make sacrifices...Trap17 wants to offer you a website with no forced ads for free, thats making a huge sacrifice. Your sacrifice, in return, is to remain active and productive in these forums. To me, this is a great organization that is run like no other. I hope you find it acceptable to post good messages in order to be on a host of this quality. I'd never go anywhere else. Hopefully you will feel the same.
  19. A quick Q for you, and I don't think you mentioned it...does this feature tell HOW MANY TIMES someone has clicked your link? I already do a IMCHAOS link in my buddy profile but if your feature counts how many times someone clicks your link I'll have to try it out...
  20. Actually what I have as the link is <p><a href="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ here</a></p> Again the file 653vid.wmv is located in my www with the rest of my homepage files...what should I do?
  21. Ok another question, so I'm trying to open windows externally. I took all of your advice from yesterday and I tried to post the code but it wont work. <p><a href="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ here</a></p> do i need to adjust this at all...the file is located in my "www" folder...what do I need to do?
  22. thanks guys the homepage is up and goin and furious thanks for your comment to that should make it alot easier i have a bunch to upload thanks.....
  23. Ok I got my account running but I'm a newbie at this and the only other host i've been with is Angelfire. I'm trying to figure this all out and I searched the forum for topics to help me get started but I couldn't find anything. I know how to upload and all but I edited my initail index page to the page I have, saved it, and I go to my homepage and nothing has changed - it still has the initial Xisto welcome page. Can someone help me get started or link me to a forum discussion that has already covered topics like this one. My main question is - how do I get my homepage up?....Again I've uploaded my created homepage but when I click on the internet browser to go to my homepage all I get is the initial homepage Xisto puts up. Thanks.
  24. Did you go through the whole thing and make sure the src is exactly the same documentation as your uploaded files?
