  1. Hard work is NOWHERE in Obummers resume. Community Organizer???? What the hell is that??? I actually think he has been given a lot of slack, he has done some things that are really way way off the wall and stupid and detrimental to our country, but everybody is letting it slide because after all, he is black and if you complain or don't agree with him you get acused of being racist, so everybody is bending over backwards to pretend he is just doing a wonderful job, and maybe I'm foolish, but I'm not buying it. Now don't get mad at me cause I don't like Obummer, ya know I still want to be on your good side as I have to talk you into voting no on Proposition B.
  2. Really need more info here. Does the starter turn the engine over? If not, battery could be dead, disconected, or just have a loose connection or need to be cleaned. If it turns over, it may not be getting fire to the plugs. Clean spark plugs, check spark plug wires. Or it could just be out of gas. Or the fuel filter could be stopped up. Or a vacum line could be leaking. Could even be a bad starter or cylinoid.
  3. Well shoot! Here was a question I thought I could answer! You guys have done me in again. I used to really like North West Airlines, but they were bought out by Delta, and now shipping with Delta is a real a real pain in the hind end. Delta charges almost $50 more to ship a puppy than North West or American. So if you have to ship a puppy, don't use Delta if you can avoid it. Not really what you wanted to know is it???
  4. I remember reading a story about a woman who had her lips and eye lids tattoed so even when she woke up in the morning she still looked like she had make up on. Personally, I think that's just a bit crazy, but to each his own I guess. Lucky for me my dogs don't care if I have on make up or designer clothes, shoes, or what ever.
  5. I use the Spybot search & destroy. Have had real good luck with it. Just remember to occasionally run the update feature, I usually run the update and then run the program to check for spyware. Of course, best thing is it's free. And speaking of spyware and viruses, has anybody tried the most recent couple of TV promotions, like, "mycleanpc" and thee is another one I can't remember off the top of my head. They are supposed to clean out everything that would slow up your computer. I remember a few years ago they had one called Stop Sign. I tried and and I swear it really screwed up my computer. I was just wondering if these latest ones were any good. Really afraid to even think about trying them after my first run in with Stop Sign.
  6. That is without a doubt a scam. Fortunatly, most scam artists are not very smart. I get emails every day from people claiming they want to buy a puppy and will send me a check over the amount I am asking for the pup and then requesting that I send them back the balance threw Western Union. I can spot one every time. Their english is very bad, they never ask the type of questions that a normal person interested in buying a pet would ask, and they almost always use the exact same message. I honestly don't know how they think they are going to be smart enough to con somebody out of any money when they are as stupid as they are.
  7. If there is one thing I am good at, it's falling asleep! Show me that bed and I will show you how to sleep! I can fall asleep just about any time and anywhere. All I have to do is shut up and sit still. I'm out. The only time I actually do have problems sleeping is if I know I have to get up extra early, like when I have to make a run to the airport, and I am afraid to go to sleep too soundly and not hear the alarm, so then I have trouble falling asleep. Fortunatly, I don't have to do that very often.
  8. I think you may be on to something. I personally don't think anybody should get a hand out for nothing. I believe to get their welfare checks they should have to preform some sort of community service, or as you brought up, get some education. Education may be a good thing, in the event they couldn't get a job because of their lack of education. Giving them an education may help them get off welfare, so might be worth the effort. Of course, it would have to be carefully set up, otherwise welfare bums would just become full time students and never stop sucking the rest of us dry by continueing taking class after class after class, just to keep the welfare checks coming, just like they have baby after baby to get bigger checks now. Unfortunatly, there are just some lazy good for nothing bums out there that have no intention of working for a living. In some ways forced community service might be better, since they would not be able to sit around and do drugs and drink beer and would actually have to show up to work.
  9. Well, no, maybe not everything. You mentioned a wife, no kids, but what about a dog? Anyway, welcome to Xisto. It's a fun place with lots of people from all walks of life from all over the world. It can sure be interesting at times.

    Hi All

Welcome Baby Dog! Like your nickname. Ok, face it, I like anything that has anything at all to do with dogs. It seems my entire life revolves around dogs. How about you, tell us more about yourself.
  11. Oh yes, I think you definatly came to the right place! I've been here for a couple years now, and I have to tell you, the folks here are very knowledgable about all that computer stuff, which is a big plus for me, because I don't know beans from apple butter about computers, and everybody has been very patient and helpful with me. I've learned a ton of stuff since I've been here.

    Hello

Welcome back! It's certainly good to see some of the folks coming back from the Trap 17 days. Just jump right in and start some good discusions.
  13. In that case, welcome back, since the old Trap 17 is now newly renamed Xisto. Same old gang, different name. I'm glad to see we are getting some members back and new members, it's been pretty slow here this summer since the change and all the technical difficulities we had for awhile. Yes, I know exactly what they say about opinions. They are like belly buttons, everybody has one. I have certainly my share of opinions, some not so popular as others, But I'm stubborn and not likely to change any of them. So.....how do you feel about dogs???
  14. Wow! Ok, ya'll know I don't get out much, but this is news to me too! That was a pretty wild video clip, thanks for sharing, I hadn't heard anything about this kind of technoligy. Just to be honest, I think it's just a little scary. It could be years and years down the road, and the damage could already be done to our bodies with these kinds of interfaces. But it's still pretty cool to think about. Sort of like watching science fiction coming to life for real.
  15. Hell no he won't succede! Not with the crazy things he is doing. Raising taxes and the cost of doing business in this country with his goofy Obamma Care forced insurance, he is driving business out of business, or have more and more every day pull out of the USA and head for more industry/business friendly countries. Go look around next time you are in Walmart. See just how many items you find that are "made in the USA." You can bet they are going to be far and few between. We used to make nearly all of our clothing and shoes right here but now I don't know of any at all. In our area of the state for years there was a shoe factory in Mansfield, a Lee's plant in Seymour, and Hagles in Ava and Ozark, which made mens pants. All of these are gone out of business. In a mostly rural area, this makes for a very tough economy. In the big city of Springfield Missouri there used to be 3 major bread factories, but now all of our bread comes from one factory in Oklahoma, for crying out loud, not even bread factories, how crazy is that? Thousands lost their jobs in Springfield when Zenith moved to Mexico. Things are going to have to change and change drasticly and soon, or "made in America" is going to be a joke.
  16. I am truely sorry for you that you had to live in such a discouraging home, no child should have to suffer threw that. I can understand why you would feel some jealousy of your friends family, but at least they took you in and gave you a first hand view of what a family should be like, thank goodness for that. I think one of the military branches would be very good for you. It would give you some time to grow up, experience life, and possibly have more time to make a decision about what you want to do with the rest of your life. You certainly have not had a way to give these important decisions the time they need with your current family problems. I wish you all the best and hope things work out for you. I'm betting they do, because you are smart enough to realize what is going on and are doing your best to think things threw.
  17. I guess it depends on the animal, see my roadrunner story in the pets and animal section. But a bear? No thanks. Or a big cat? Not in my lifetime! I used to occasionally watch the croc hunter, and always thought he was crazier than an out house rat, but I am not familiar with Grizzly Man. Sorry Watermonkey, I'd be like your neighbor, I'd be going for the gun in the case of a big cat. Of course, I have my goats to think about, protecting them is important. As far as the cats keeping the deer herds culled out, that's what hunting season is for! Venison is very good eating.
  18. Thanks guys!Amazingly enough, I am still with you all! A wonder the way things were going last week. Like I didn't have enough problems, a thunderstorm/lighting took out my computer modem, so I was off line for awhile. I sure would like to have a change of luck for the better. My leg looks better, the brusing is not so noticable, but it still hurts and I can feel lumps in it. I never understood the thing about the meek inheriting the earth. Seems like if you aren't tougher than nails, you could never survive what life hands out, the meek wouldn't stand a chance and the human race would become extinct.
  19. Well now, wait a minute. Since we live in the forest, I have always thought it would be great to have a steam powered car. Wood is free for the cutting, though of course you do need a little gas for the chain saw. You would think with all the great minds in the world, we could come up with a solution to the gas problem. Wonder whats taking so long? And we need local solutions and a variety of choises. Wood is easy to get here, but certainly not in the desert. Sea water is non existant here, but that would be fine for costal areas.
  20. Q Should we limit our luxury to contribute to the general good? NO!!!! Now certainly prez Obummer and the rest of the democrates think we should, but I'm not buying that. At All. If I am willing to work and do something constructive with my life and be responsible and take care of business, why should I not be allowed to enjoy the fruits of my labor as I see fit to use them? After all, it was I who did the work and made something of my life. Sitting around watching the mailbox for the welfare check does not constitute hard labor. Or being a contributing member to society. Defining luxury is of course, very difficult and in no way a "one size fits all" kind of catagory. I personally do not indulge in much luxury for myself. Second hand clothes from the thrift store, dented cans from a grocery salvage store at bargain prices are just fine by me. But this spring, for once I did splurge on something for myself, and I am very happy about it. I bought one of those metal frame pools at Big Lots, a whopping $219! In the current heat wave we are having, I'm not sure if it is actually a luxury or a nessesity! I sure do love it. Since we don't have air conditioning in the house, (a luxury?) it's the only way I have to cool off. I probably jump in it a dozen times a day. May not stay long, but at least I can cool off for a few minutes. I'll even go run and jump in it in the evenings when we are watching Tv during a commercial! The house gets so miserably hot even with sitting in front of a fan it still feels hot unless you are wet. Of course, in many ways it is economically sound. I can reuse the same water to cool off over and over. If I didn't have it and was having to take cold showers, the water would just be used once and run down the drain. So....why should I not have my pool to cool off since I did pay for it myself, while welfare recipients sit around watching TV in the air conditioning that is paid for by tax payers?
  21. Earlier this afternoon I was back here in the back room checking my email and actually getting ready to log into Xisto, when I started hearing this strange popping sound coming from the kitchen. It sounded like bacon frying. I really wasn't paying a lot of attention at first, then I got to thinking, it's been quite awhile since hubby had started fixing his lunch, he should of already had it cooked by now, so eventually I got up and headed back to the kitchen to see what the noise was. As soon as I stepped out of the computer room and into the hallway I knew we were in serious trouble. Guess it hit hubby at about the same time because we both hit the kitchen at the same time. By now the flames were shooting up from the stove and already hitting the ceiling! House was rapidly filling up with smoke and the flames were huge! He had fried some bacon and forgot to shut the stove off and the bacon grease had caught fire and was really blazing away. We had a devil of a time getting it out, only towel handy at first was a small light weight tea towel, it simply added to the blaze. Hubby went to throwing salt on it and I ran to the hallway closet to get a bigger towel, got it wet and then he threw it over the fire and we finally got it out. I guess we were really lucky we didn't burn the whole dang house down. It was bad enough that it melted all the knobs off the stove. My ceiling and cabinets are black now, but they will wash hopefully. I was worried about the stove, especially since the micro wave had also quit on us this week, but we tried it later this evening after we came home from voting (hope all of you got out and did your duty!) Figured we'd go vote and let the house air out. Anyway, it does still work, you just can't tell what the knobs are for, or what temprature your trying for. This has really been a tough week. The heat has been awful, and hard to deal with, and then a few days ago I fell threw a rotten board on our back deck and really brused myself up bad. I couldn't do much for a few days. I was lucky I didn't break my leg, or hit nails in the deck. But I don't ever remember ever having bruses make me sick though. My stomack was queasy and I had a lot of heat in my leg in the area around the bruses. They felt like hot packs. It was really weird. I certainly hope next week gets better. At the rate things are going here I am getting to the point where I am afraid to get out of bed in the morning!
  22. Share the knowledge????? What knowledge???? Are you refering to the propaganda that the animal rights freaks put out to get you to contribute to their various projects? The outright lies they tell and the stupid stories that they make up that any sane person with any knowledge of animal husbandry would know immediatly was a great big load of horse hockey???? Please get the facts before you go off propagating the AR agenda. Circus animals, Rodeo livestock, zoo animals, animals used in entertainment are some of the best cared for animals on the face of the earth. The owners of these animals has a huge investment of not only time, but money in their care and training. It would be insane to mistreat these animals, and you better believe that cases of true abuse are extrememly rare. Children are far more likely percentage wise to be abused than animals used in entertaining. And then you have organizations like PETA who deliberatly abuse animals, and then film it, and pretend that it is animal abuse. They have been caught actually filming a fake "canned hunt" and showing the tortured animals and blaming it on hunters. Some years back there was the big story on puppy mills that was entirely set up by a PETA member who took a job at a kennel under false pretences, he actually worked for PETA and the entire thing was faked. He deliberatly starved dogs, and then would put 2 male dogs together in a pen, and then film them fighting. He put a collar on a dog extremely tightly, and then weeks later went back and claimed the dog was abused because the owner did not see the collar had grown into the dogs neck. The kennel owner trusted this dirt bag scum, she had just undergone major surgery and was bedridden for over a month, and she hired him to make sure her animals were properly taken care of, instead he screwed her royaly. It was the PETA person that caused the animal suffering, not the kennel owner. But her life was destroyed because of his stupid game. The suffering that poor woman went threw because of his faked story was unbelievable. So, just because you read some garbage about animal abuse doens't mean there is a single bit of truth in it. Sadly, in more cases than not, it is a con game no better than a Nigerian fake check scam to con you out of your money, or to make headlines and increase the popularity of some animal rights group. Do you have any idea how many thousands of dollars come pouring in every time the news media puts on one of their "busts" that the humane society has made to save some poor animals? Take about big bucks!
  23. Insensitive no. True, yes. Granted, in some instances when you are down and out, it is a lot harder to find ways to pull yourself up out of the hole you've fallen into, but it is possible and can happen if a person has the will power, and the determined spirit to improve their lot in life. And I do get rather tired of hearing how the rich are exploiting the poor people in third world countries. If I was to become rich, (not likely, but always a possibility) it would be because I worked my very own little butt off to become that way. My rise to the top would not be because I sold baseball gloves sewn together by some poor starving child. I exploite no one in the raising of dogs. And for those children that are sewing up ball gloves. Are they ot getting paid? Is someone holding a gun to their heads and making them work? Can they not find a way to use the money they do make to better themselves? I would certainly think they would be better off than those who did not have a job at all. But anyway, to the original topic, I suppose it depend on how you got rich. What you have in possesions doens't have a single thing to do with whether or not you go to heaven or hell. It all depends on how you got rich. If you did it cheating people or stealing it or commiting other crimes like drug dealing I figure your pretty much out of luck. I'm not even sure if what you do with the money you make plays a huge roll either. Even if you give to charities and anti up when your churches collection plate passes by you, that's no great guarantee. I don't think you can buy your way into heaven. If you donate, but still act like a jerk, hurt people, are mean and unfair in your dealings with others, all the money on earth isn't going to make you a saint or buy you a ticket to heaven.
  24. I don't know that things were all that better way back when. Maybe they didn't have money, but they did have other valuables, like gold, and jewels, and land that people fought over. The barter system sounds good, but remember, you have to have something to barter. Say for instance, cattle were considered a valuable trade goods. People would still fight over the number of cows they had, the land to run the cows on, and poor people that didn't have many cows would be worried, and rich people would still take advantage of the poor people and make sure they didn't accumilate too many cows. So really, money isn't exactly the problem. Human greed is the basis for most of the worlds ills today.
  25. That really sucks! If I had to wait for Pay Pal to mail me a check, I wouldn't even bother using it, I'd just have the customer mail it directly to me and screw Pay Pal and their three percent commission! Where I live it would take at least a week to get a check, if not longer, and since customers are always so slow to pay for their pups, I wouldn't have the money in time to pay for the shipping.
