Would You Reccomend Adsence? for my situation?
snlildude87 replied to psychiccyberfreak's topic in Search Engines
Putting adsense on your site wouldn't hurt, but if your stream of visitors will not last long, then the couple of bucks that you earned will not be in your hand for quite sometime (google issues checks once you reach $100). -
Your parents still love you, and that's what counts. Who cares if they give you money? Just spend the money on stuff you want. And if they don't give you that much, it means that you're growing up and that they shouldn't really spoil you anymore.

Yep. This method should only be used to test your scripts. I hated that I had to upload a script each time I made changes to it when I'm writing them, so I found a mini server that saved me a bunch of time. Also, hosting your own site requires a lot more than you think. Not only would your ISP have to allow, but you would probably have to spend money on electricity...not to mention security to keep out hackers and viruses on your server.

Graphics / Sig : Evanescence Angel Render
snlildude87 replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Little rough around the elbow, head, and feathers/wings. -
I do. Actually, I used to make VB programs. They were nothing big; mainly small programs that does fun/annoying stuff. I guess I should relearn it over the summer or something. You can check out my programs at my site: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ That page hasn't been updated in over a year, but you can see what I used to make.

Music Band Resputina Render
snlildude87 replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Way too rough for me. Are you zooming in close to 1600%? That may be the problem.... -
Why don't you just leave it the way it is? It looks better sharp and crisp than dull and blurry....
-
You can do anything with your account as long as it doesn't violate Xisto's rules. In other words, just don't use your hosting for porn and warez, and you're fine.
-
Why is the edge not sharp? It looks like you modified to so that the edges will appear smoother or something....

It doesn't matter if you listed your resources. The reason why you have to use the quote tags when you copy something verbatim is to prevent you from gaining credits that you did not earn. Everything inside the quote or code tags is not counted towards your credits. If everyone got away with copying and pasting, then we'd have people who can gather up 1000s of credits in a matter of hours.

http://php.net/ Just search any function that you are having problems with, and it'll help you with it.

Hey, Frank.Welcome to Xisto. I hope you make yourself at home here. Enjoy your stay!I myself do taekwondo, also. I started over the summer of 2005, and I managed to get myself up to green belt.

You can really compare the two because they fall into two different categories. PHP is a scripting language while HTML is a mark-up language. PHP is executed server-side while HTML is rendered client-side. PHP needs to be installed on a server while HTML does not. Now, PHP and ASP can be compared because the two are scripting languages.

It's not really a feature. It's just a google bomb. Basically, you get a lot of people to link "failure" with Bush's homepage, and if enough people do that, then the that page will have a high enough pagerank to be the first on Google. Google bomb: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_bomb

Enable Registering Domains. Would be really nice..
snlildude87 replied to SvVifT's topic in Web Hosting Support
Can you spare $2.99? Yahoo! is currently holding a domain sale for $2.99 until New Year's Eve '05. Domains aren't that expensive, and I'm sure if you convince your parents, they'll let you use their credit card to purchase one. Xisto will probably not enable domain registering (free) in the near future since that will cost us more money than expected. Xisto has a little more than 8,000 users. The cost to register a domain at godaddy is $7.95/year. If those 8,000 users decide to take advantage of our program, then that would mean $63,600/year out of the admin's pocket. I'm fairly positive that he does not earn that much with advertisements. As for regular domain registrations, I am not sure how one gets to be an ICANN-accredited domain name registrar. $2.99 domain registration at Yahoo!: https://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains Enjoy! -

A New Sig with some new brushes
snlildude87 replied to Avalon's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
First thing I noticed...his head is transparent. Try to blend so that that won't happen. I usually blend a lot on the bottom of the render, and I try to avoid the top.Another thing I'd recommend is choosing a brush and color that will complement your render. -

(Xisto - Web Hosting)Can this thing have a little bit more color? It looks kinda dull and not attractive. We want people to sign up when they visit the site...not leave. -
Webhost Manager For a Paid domain name..
snlildude87 replied to Blazeruler's topic in Web Hosting Support
I believe webhost manager is only available if a host offers reseller hosting. Since Xisto doesn't offer any reseller options, then the answer is no. We do not provide webhost manager. -
Yet Agen Newest Sig hopefully gettin better
snlildude87 replied to ashmaster's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I'll hit the three main points.1. Scanlines. Either reduce their strength or don't use them at all. Try to not put them over a render, also.2. Text not readable. The text is one of the most important things in a sig. Make them stand out.3. Render is the most important element in a sig. Make it stand out. Don't size the render down too small or else it looks like you're trying to hide it. Make it prominent. Those are the three things that I noticed first. The last part is emptiness. Although it's not as important, try to fill your sig with little stuff like style lines or scanlines at 19% opacity (I just made up this number). You'll be surprise the difference between a filled sig and a basic sig with render and name.
