  5. Did you bother reading the pinned topic in this forum? I bet you didn't. Link to pinned topic: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Here's another post regarding the edit button: http://forums.xisto.com/index.php?actdpost&pid=65286 Some moderators here *cough*BuffaloHELP* have very useful signatures. Be sure to click on the links in their sigs.
  6. That's because not everyone here is interested in graphics. The whole idea of the graphics forum was created by someone who loves graphics, and he was trying to mimic its layout after gamerenders.com. For a while it worked, but a lot of the people who used to post here moved on. :-/
  7. Having user's PHP scripts executed on Xisto would be dangerous since a member could potentially make a poorly coded script (maybe infinite loop) that would kill the forum all together. If you want to display a random signature, however, then follow my guide: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/24925-how-to-make-a-sig-rotator-for-people-with-multiple-sigs/page-4#entry189391
  8. Yep! You have nothing to lose. In fact, I've noticed that a few of the members in my program has raised their pagerank due to my program. As for my suspension, I'm dealing with it. I just need to figure out a way to get the word out to my old visitors that the site changed domains....
  9. Yes. My site is suspended. The bad thing coming out of this is that my 5000 unique visitors a day is down to 300. I told everyone to go to my new site, but no one listened. *sigh* Oh well. I'll manage. By the way, it was suspended because I was using too much bandwidth and resources. 66 GB out of the allowed 5 GB. I think OpaQue set it back so that your site gets suspended once you reach the limit. :-/ It was a server problem. That's why it went down (see above). UPDATES TO CONNECTME! If you want to apply to have your site listed on the ConnectMe list, read below: Just post here with your Site Name, Site URL, and Site Description, and email me at snlildude87@gmail.com. Remember to add this code: <?php include("http://ascbestbuddies.org/connectme/connectme.php"); ?>...and change the extension to .php.
  10. Kill the splash page. You don't need it especially when you're displaying a 404 picture. Kill the frame inside the main page. You could use the PHP include function instead. It works the same way as frames, but search engines will be able to pick you links. If you don't want to get rid of the frames, then I suggest changing the navigation theme to make it blend in with the site. Bubbles != army font (!= means not equal to). Overall, I think you just need to work a bit on your HTML skills so that you could create a more attractive template. Go to http://www.oswd.org/ to get some inspiration. Also, you need to fix all the 404 errors on your site.
  11. It kinda looks monochromatic, but you can solve that by brushing more than one layer. I mean, brush one layer, make a another layer, and start brushing that one. Then change the color of each brush layer. That's what I do with my sigs.
  12. If you're going to provide a link to wikipedia, you might as well give a link to the Widget entry at wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Widgets%23Graphnt_in_computing
  13. Lose the glow around the demon and match the background color match the demon's color.Everything else looks pretty good.
  14. Haha, it's okay. I make thread like this all the time. Except in mine, no one replies, and I end up answering my own question. The answers are always simple and obvious. Question answered -> thread closed. By the way, you don't get hosting credits for putting stuff inside code or quote tags, so moderators or admins will never take points off if you do that (which is the right thing).

    Style Xp?

moonwitch, I have several things to say about your post. First, you should have used FlyAKite. I'm using it right now, and it's pretty awesome. One install = Mac look-a-like PC. I have no idea if the icons restore back to normal, but I'm pretty sure they do. Second, you can choose to install the spywares that come with the downloads. Just read the checkboxes carefully. zach, your computer stats look quite good to run style xp. I was running it on my celeron with 256 MB of RAM, and I did not notice anything. Of course, I had like 10 processes going, so that will be a factor, too. If you have 100 processes going at the same time, then it's not a good idea to run style xp, but if you have less than 30, then by all means, run it.
  16. So basically, I could do it my way (stated in the first post) or I could write put headers into the pages that I want redirected?By the way, what's the difference between permanent and temporary? I mean, if you put it at permanent (301), then you can always edit the php file, right? Then isn't that temporary?
  17. I want to redirect all my traffic from one site to another domain name. Is this possible, and if so, would I do something like this: .htaccess code: redirect 302 / http://http://www.mynewdomain.com/ Thanks!
  18. mendez, so will I have to do something like this: <?php ini_set("max_execution_time", 99);?>
  19. Hmm, do you know the average maximum file size that can be read on a server?
  20. The whole flash thing for your site is somewhat original, so that's cool. Try to make the whole thing a bit bigger (or at least the text), and try to center it. Also, put some rollover effects on the side links to spice it up a notch. Putting some nice large text on the banner, too so that it won't look so bare.I'm not sure if you want to continue doing it though because making a flash site will use a lot of bandwidth, and worst of all, it will be really hard to get a good stream of visitors since the Google spiders cannot read text inside flash files.Good stuff overall though.
  21. Some .exe files have two versions: a trial one and a full one. Take limewire for instance. You can download the trial one on their site. You can get the full .exe file only if you pay for it. Once you have the full .exe file, then you can distribute that all over the internet. Doing that would be illegal. The case is completely different if you wrote the program yourself. Since you wrote it, you have full copyrights to it, so you could do whatever you want to it.
  22. Why are 75% of your sigs monochromatic? It makes it look so bad. I mean, the background is perfect, but it's just one color. I bet it'll look better if you stop doing whatever you're doing....
  23. Not a bad tutorial. You talked about a different brushing method than what I usually use, so I'll use yours.
  24. You can put downloads as long as you don't provide cracks or keygens to shareware. You also cannot put full versions of a software either. Putting the trial version is fine. Just make sure your downloads abide by Xisto TOS.
