RSS feeds are useful in one sense but will never take over another communication tool (for example e-mail) because everything has it's ups and downs and some communications are more suitable to e-mail than RSS and vica-versa.

Blu-ray News and considerations about this new technology
Matt2 replied to blackrabit's topic in Science and Technology
I am going to say that Blue-Ray will win the "battle of the formats", though I doubt many people are going to go buy the disc readers/writers or specifically buy hardware because it is Blue-Ray compatible, the main reason being that it is expensive, the discs are expensive around NZ$30 and that most major companies will be sticking with CD/DVD for a couple of years before moving onto Blue-Ray. -
Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia Can you even say it?
Matt2 replied to BooZker's topic in General Discussion
I would try to say it ten times quickly, but I don't know how to pronunce it in the first place :(I don't know anyone who is Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobic, but you can't really make fun of peoples' fears - that would be mean. A Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobic person would probably find life quit difficult having to avoid the number '666'. For example you could really be a Web Page Designer/Troubleshooter because one time in your career you would have to CHMOD a file to 666 But you could probably get someone to do it for you :lol:I didn't really know there was a name for people that are scared of 666 though - you learn something new everyday -
Ftp 550 - Permission Denied [resolved] When I try to delete a folder
Matt2 replied to darran's topic in Web Hosting Support
I can't really help you with your error message, but the default permission of a folder is 0 and a file is 644. I don't think it can be set that whenever you put a file into a specific folder it gets a default permission level, however I may be wrong - you're best bet would be to check in cPanel :lol:If files are already there in a folder just select them all and then right click and then select the option "Properties/CHMOD" or something like that, then enter the permission level you want for all of those files and then click okay/apply, all the files you have selected should be updated with that permission level.I hope I have been of some help -

Mobile Phone Design Flip Vs Non-flip which design is your choice?
Matt2 replied to Albus Dumbledore's topic in Mobile Phones
At the moment I have a non-flip phone. I think it's okay but phones can always be better. My uncle has a new flash phone, it isn't flip but it's still great. I don't think it matters that much weither it flips or not, although I would prefer a filp phone to a non-flip phone just because I think they look better.I can't really see your point with the keylocking, because on most phones (mine included) you can set it to automatically lock after a number of seconds/minutes. -
I never really thought about offering Runescape GP when someone signed up on the forums. Good idea to get the forums going. I'm going to check them out. You should get a .co.nr domain though - because they are the best.

Do You Know How To Cook? Who cooks their own food?
Matt2 replied to FLaKes's topic in Health & Fitness
Three words:Two minute noodles. No seriously, we cook at school and we made a 2 course meal (with Chicken in it - and no nobody died that ate it, I know go me lol), while a teacher was yelling at us (how good can you get?) I also cook biscuits and cakes at home (stuff with chocolate in it hehe). Sometimes I cook my main meal but it's usually just pasta and stuff like that, my mum usually cooks our meals and we have them as a family. -

You could have just said that you were making it for New Zealand Down's Syndrome, I'm a New Zealander and I know how many people that orgainisation helps. I take back that comment in my previous post I get where you're coming from. After I read your post I realised that Thorned Rose has probably helped alot of people in their time on Trap, and that they deserve for someone to help them, especially because your making it for New Zealand Down's Syndrome.

Even though the people were looking at CCTV footage outside the building, they could have had cameras in their house - just a thought.Rape is about power, and has nothing to do with sex. The only reason why someone would rape another person is because they want to control someone. That is why the age groups that would be targeted the most would be the very young and the very old people. This is because they would be less likely to defend themselves. It is sick though, and these people deserve to be killed, or to be put in jail for life. There is no excuse for having sex with someone that young.

Actually it was coded in Runescript, a coding language created by Andrew. That however is based on Java as Tetraca said.I don't think java contributes to the "suck factor" unless you are meaning lag it does nothing to effect the performance of the game. You don't download Runescape..... it's an online game. If you did have to download it, I wouldn't be playing it because of the bad graphics, but because it is web based, you can see why the graphics aren't the best.

What Games Are You Currently Playing? What games are you currently playing?
Matt2 replied to kahat's topic in Computer Gaming
I am currently playing Habbo Hotel, with a little bit of Runescape on the side. Habbo is like an online chat room with graphics. The only sucky thing about it is that you pay for virtual items to put in your "Hotel Room".Runescape it okay, its addictive because there is always something to do. Not much more I can say. -
Laws do exist to make the world a safer and happier place, I don't think many people would be very happy if it was acceptiable to go around killing anyone they felt like killing. As far as I know no one I know has broken a major law. Whats your proof that everyone in the world is a criminal, I know some people who wouldn't have broken a single law in their whole entire life. I think what your getting at is that crime is more socially acceptable than it was in the past. Which means that more people are commiting crimes without a care in the world. One of those laws that I can think of is copyright and downloading music off of the internet. Isn't it expected that if there is more laws that there will be more criminals? The whole reason why we have laws is to keep the place safer and if someone doesn't comply then it is expected that they would get a punishment. In one sense maximum law and maximum criminals is a good thing, it helps keep the world safer and the criminals off the streets able to hurt other people. I don't really think your research concludes that humans hate laws. I like most other people love the murder law, that if someone goes around killing people they will be punished. I'm sure there are some laws that you like yourself and wouldn't be happy if we didn't have them any more. Laws control people by fear for a reason - so that the laws aren't broken. Would you really follow a law that said don't do this or or or we won't do anything to you. I don't think that law would have a purpose. Your next "questions" sickens me. I could like quite a few reasons why I wouldn't randomally rape someone on the street including, its a sick thing to do, it is imorral, it is disrespectful to this person, it will affect this girl in later life. I'm assuming that your last sentence is telling everyone to run wild and do anything they want to? That isn't right. Laws are there for a reason and for people to follow them.

Google earth is nearly the neatest thing since sliced bread. I could zoom right into my house and school, it's just so great. As they say a picture tells 1000 words.

Hey Euphoric, Welcome to the Xisto community. First you need to help us to help you. I need you to run a few programs for us, to assist you better. Please run your antivirus software, Spy Bot Search and Destroy and Ad-aware. If you don't have those programs just ask and someone will provide you with the link to them. After that come back and post a fresh log and someone might beable to help you (I'm sorry but I'm only learning HJT at the moment, otherwise I would help you). There is a site I would reccomend you to go to if you are having no luck here. It is called Geeks to Go and it is a computer help site. I am a member there. They are a friendly bunch of experts that would he happy to help you with your problem. You will need to sign up for an account there before you can post your log, and you will have to run a few programs for them. Don't worry about it right now though as the guide on their site will help you through that. I would post the information here but right now their site and board is closed for upgrades. When their site is up there is a bar near the top of that page. It says something like: " Has some sleazy software taken over your computer? Spyware, Adware, Virus, Trojan? Please Start Here. Your system clean? Malware Protection Advice. " Click on Start here and then the guide will be shown on what steps you will need to take. I hope you continue to enjoy the Xisto community, I highly reccomend their free webhosting - I personally think its the best out there, just ask if you need any help getting set up with it. Good luck with your Crapware fighting quest. I hope I have been of assistance, please let us know how you get on.

The Google feature I use the most would probably be the search engine (it's also my homepage). Gmail and Google Earth would be my favourites as well. I have Google Sketch Up and Picasa installed although I don't use them much. Adsense is also a really cool tool because it enables people who are just starting out on the web to make a couple of dollars off of their site, covering some of the most basic costs.Technically Youtube isn't google but google owns it, and thats my other favourite, I haven't really tried Google Video but I hear its great for uploading a large video.
