  1. Theres all ready a [cross]good[/cross] great free web host infront of you - Xisto. As Inspiron has posted 5gigs (or whatever its called)'s service is crap. This is like (for example) posting on a Runescape Supporters forum "Runescape sucks" - your going to have angry mobs chasing after you left right and center. I've never used 5gigs before (and don't plan to), so you might think that I shouldn't be judging them, but I already have a perfect web host and it goes by the name of Xisto
  2. It is great to know that Xisto is growing by the day, not like some other free webhosts that just shut up shop. This is a really great achievment for Xisto. First the forum upgrade, then no ads on the forums, now more space - whats else is going to come next.Thank you BuffaloHELP and OpaQue, as others have said for making the best free webhosting site in the world!
  3. The bottom picture's eyes and tears are made from a hot glue gun. There are two LED's at the back of the picture so that it can be lit up
  4. Beaware that it will eat up the websites bandwith, so don't try to deface your own Xisto site, because you will probably use up all of the bandwith.
  5. Hmmm, you can download one from a website but you have to mod/hack your DS to get it to run, which I don't want to do
  6. I'm sure this will be great help to people who would like to implement a CAPTCHA image in their contact forum, thanks for the tutorial. Unlike others yours is very easy to read and understand. Once again thanks for creating it
  7. Hey, Today I was talking to my friend on the phone, she was staying at her Nana's house out in the country, they have just moved in recently. Her uncle had come around to have another look at the house. He went into their dining room or lounge and saw some paintings on the wall, he instantly told then to take them down. My friend told me to google these paintings and see what I could find out about the curse. I think they are now planing to burn the painting, although there is one article about it being fake, made up by The Sun (see below). (I have re-written some articles in my own words sources at the bottom) On September 4th 1985, the Crying Boy curse was born when an article was printed in The Sun. Peter Hall, a Yorkshire firefighter had come across the Crying Boy paintings too many times unscorched in housefires. The Crying Boy paintings were mass produced, so many people owned one. Once this first article was published many people rang The Sun sharing their experiences with these paintings. The article said that Yorkshire fireman, Peter Hall and his team were coming across an occurence that was happening too frequently for their liking. They were called out to house fires numourous times and put out the fires, when they went inside to investigate the house, they found these "Crying Boy" paintings unharmed even though other paintings and objects in the house were damaged. One servere case involved a man being burnt to death with a Crying Boy painting laying beside him unharmed. It is said that the curse will only effect someone if the owner of the painting becomes aware of it (which is freaky because now my friend's Nana knows about the painting). Some psychics have claimed that the painting is Haunted by the spirit of the boy it depicts. The Sun invited its readers to send in their Crying Boys to have them burnt in a mass bomb fire. Only to have the warehouse which the painting where being stored in burnt down shortly after. Peter Hall, the firefighter who was the Sun?s original source, tried to end the curse rumours by giving another interview with another paper, saying that he had orginally informed The Sun that it wasn't uncommon to have paintings survive house fires, although this statement was intentionally omitted from the orginal Sun article. It is said that a well-respected school teacher from Devon, George Mallory claimed to have gotten to the bottom of the case in 1995. Mallory claimed he had found the artist who painted the Crying Boy - Franchot Seville an old postcard artist who at the time lived in Madrid. Seville said that the Crying Boy was a street kid he had found in Madrid in 1969, he never spoke and looked very sad. He painted the boy. A Catholic preist said the boy was Don Bonillo, a boy who had run away after seeing his parents burnt to death in a blaze. The preist insisted the artist have nothing to do with the boy as where ever the boy lived fires of unknown origin would mysteriously start endangering the family and possesions of the house he lived in. The villagers called him 'Diablo' because of this. The artist ignored this preist and looked after the boy. The paintings of the orphan made Seville rich, but one day his studio was mysteriously burned to the ground, ruining Seville. He instantly accused the boy of arson. The boy ran off crying and ws never seen again. From then on, all over Europe news was coming in of the paintings causing fires. From then on Seville was regarded as a jinx and no on would commision him to paint or even look at his paintings, let alone own one. In 1976 a car exploded into a fireball in Barcelona after crasing into a wall, the victim was burnt beyond recognition, but part of the victim's drivers licence was readable, the name on the licence was 19-year-old Don Donillo, this may have been the boy who was painted eight years ago, but we will probably never know, as no one has come forward to collect the body. One woman said their would be no trouble with the Crying Boy if it was displayed alongside a Crying Girl painting, others say that the damage will be worse. The Curse begain to mutate and it was reported that the Crying Boy would bring luck to those who deserved it. One man reported winning money at various gambling establishments after rescuing a Crying Boy painting from a dustbin. However some people do say it was just a big scam orchestrated by the (at the time) Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie. Apparently MacKenzie was looking for a news story on a slow day, and a news agency in Yorkshire had filed the story of a house fire. In the last line it wrote that the Crying Boy painting was the only thing in the house to survive the blaze, MacKenzie then ramped the story up a bit and splashed "CURSE OF THE CRYING BOY" across the front page of The Sun the next day. Here are some photos of the paintings (from Quasimondo.com): In conclusion I'm not sure if this is real or if it's a scam, but I'm not going to be putting one of those paintings up in my house any time soon, I'll let you decide for yourself. 8. I'm in between with this issue. It could be considered stealing but then again you are just using the machine, it doesn't say anywhere that your not allowed to press buttons or put your arm in the coke slot does it? Although it is kind of morally wrong, anyway. Today we went to the mall and there were about 3 coke machines there. None of the tricks worked on any of them, there was an older machine and it did crap all, the two newer machines were different, because they were newer and you could see the products inside them. I tried holding down the coin return button on all three machines to check the temperature, but it didn't work on any of them. I couldn't get my arm inside the place where your drink comes out, so I couldn't test and see weither it would give me two cokes, but that machine did use the convayer belt method.Just thought I'd share what I had tried.
  9. Hey Darran, I use Feedburner for my blogs and I love it! Feedburner will only work if you give people your feedburner url, so I would stop advertising your "normal" url (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/). You need to ping feedburner to make sure it got your post. I use a service called Pingoat, which is free. It pings alot of different blog advertising sites, so it is good advertising for your blog as well as pinging feedburner. I think you need to download some posts in your feed reader before Feedburner knows someones using an application and to add another count to your subscribers counter. Other than that I don't know what might be causing it, try these things and tell me if it works Also, if you want to hide your url to your normal feed, change your auto discovery settings, theres information on how to do that on the Feedburner website, if you need help just ask me and I'll find it for you
  10. Hey,I have heard about the Nintendo DS Web Browser, I can only find one for the DS Lite in my local shops, and I only have an orginal DS, so I would need that version of the browser, does anyone know where to get it from? I'm in New Zealand by the way.
  11. I was meaning the Nintendo made browser, it was packaged up and on the front of the case it said, ONLY FOR NINTENDO DS LITE. I went into Eb Games and asked them today and they said it was only for the Lite, I'll go to the Oprah site, but I need a way to put it in my DS.....Oh, I just went to the Oprah site, the browser isn't avaliable to download, only to purchase at your local games store, so I'm assuming these two are the same. Although on the Oprah it had a diagram of the Nintendo DS (Original) with the game cartridges in it, which means there must be a version out there for the original DS google here I come!Edit: I have seen on heaps of sites that the browser is avaliable on the original DS, now I just have to find a place that sells it.....
  12. Okay, If nobody has noticed you can sign up for gmail yourself now!! Well you've been able to do that for ages, anyway. Click here to make your new gmail account, so you don't have to wait for people to e-mail you the invites If you want to feel really special by receiving an invite thru e-mail click here. If you don't care about the invite being e-mailed but still want to waste somebodies invite click here and type the number you see into the box. If you want to give your invites away to random people send all your invites to yourself then copy the link out of each message and post it in the most on this website, click here. Or if you just want to keep doing what your doing and let your e-mail addresses get harvested by spammers and their spam bots continue posting here, listing your e-mail and asking for invites (I don't reccomend)
  13. I know thanks for agreeing with me They are nearly virtually identical, they should be able to do the same things. The only real differences is the size and that some buttons are in different places. It's crappy service from Nintendo.
  14. Also I have heard on some Computer Support Forums that some people want to uninstall the beta version because they can't play games and use programs that they would like to.
  15. Your home page is a bit..... bland. It doesn't really have much on it and isn't worded very well. It doesn't really pull me in and say click on a link to go to another part of my site. Even though it doesn't look like your using the home page of your website, you should get a free template or something and put the links into that to tidy it up. In the free stuff section of the forums you should find some sites to get free templates from. The Yahoo! ads are also really annoying. Would there be any chance you could get the site hosted somewhere else - like Xisto *hint* *hint*.I like the World of Warcraft sites, I think they look quite snazzy, you should design a flash thing like that for your homepage. The last site I couldn't read because I can't read the language that its in, but overall those sites look quite good. The things I think you should work on are:The Homepage andMaybe imbebbing the flash apps into an html page so that you don't see the .swf at the top of the screen, and so you can change the title bar.Other than that I like it
  16. That is relating to what they put on their website etc. We aren't saying that the companies content on their website is perfect, we are saying that their products are perfect and a mistake like this would have been fixed before it was released into the public's eye. Anyway, the site only says its powered by Sony not that Sony runs it.
  17. I'm going with Yes we did land on the moon. I have heard nothing about this on the TV etc. So I'm going for Yes we did. The main reason being what motive would anyone have to stage this?
  18. I can smell a scam. I wouldn't trust anyone who posts referral links on forums, clearly not reading the TOS. Really tut tut, slap on the wrist. Really the only way to make money is get a job. That wasn't his sig thats been edited that was his post, it just looks like his sig because it is on the bottom line of the post
  19. Thats pretty freaky, I'd like lock myself in my office if I had someone like that walking around. It reminds me of a time when I went to my friends house and they were having trouble with people down the street they would try to scare everybody away from the local park etc, one day when I was there we went down there and they started verbally abusing us, we went back to our house and locked the door behind us. A couple of minutes later they were all around the front of the house banging on the door, windows, and garage door saying let us in. It was really freaky, I was shouting "You're trespassing, get out or we'll call the police". We called the flatmates mum and she must have called my friends parents and then they eventually left. It was really freaky though, my friends mum's boyfriend is a security guard so he called a police contact and they were tresspassed from their property and they were planning on doing a petition to get them banned from the park. Soon after my friend moved house though, so they were free from the "freaky people from the park".Sorry for invading your rant, I thought I'd share a similar experience
  20. I guess your having a bad day, I hope you cheer up. Anyway. I like you get annoyed when people say things when they have no clue what they mean. I also think that many items are overprices and that, that should change. I don't get what your talking about when you say "we stopped selling ipods and such to Japan" I get annoyed when people talk behind their back. I get annoyed like someone else said in this topic when people are in a crowd they would do anything (bully, pick on others) But when they are by themselves they wouldn't. I thought of something else that tugged on my nerve cords but I forgot it Thats my addition to this rant for today
  21. I agree with you in one sense but not in another. I think that children should be bought up in diversity and different cultures, for life experience. That probably doesn't happen in most private schools, mostly because you have to have enough money to go there. I think it is your parents choice to what school you go to (private or public), but neither catagory should be generalised saying that all private school kids are "up themselves" sort of thing. Although most kids in private school are like that, it's not their fault. It is the way the have been bought up - it's not their fault or for anyone to judge.I do think it is wrong that people pay their way through life though. For example, just because you have money you can get off a waiting list and have surgery, I think that is morally wrong, although if you have the money you should be able to do what you like with it.It is a bit harsh that you generalised the private schools though. And most private schools do have laptops. I think that that statement would be the other way around, that Private schools have the laptops and Public Schools don't. Even though my school (public) has laptops and computers.I just think we all should be greatful for what we have and not judge books by their covers.
  22. Your broken english is really hard to understand. If you read the previous posts you will see why that would have happened.
  23. I love Runescape, there are so many things to do and thats why I love it. You can do anything you want, choose from a varity of different skills to train, do quests and more. It's great to play when you are bored even though the graphics aren't the best. I don't see why people don't like it. Not very many people have posted reasons as to why they don't like it. I started Runescape last year. I was instantly hooked trying to beat my friends accounts etc. Eventually everyone becomes tired of something and now I have stopped play as much as I did, I still however like the game.Someone said said the music annoys them. You realise you can turn the music off?Someone also said something about it being banned from the Shoutbox. I don't see anything about that in the Shoutbox rules, do you? Somebody also said something about the lack of spelling and grammer, you are obviously in the wrong topic, you are ment to be in the topic "I hate all online games". Deal with the spelling and grammer, it will happen in any game, not just Runescape.Somebody also said something about having to pay for the new updates. You realise that people pay for membership for a reason? To get updates. People pay for what they receive. You should be greatful that the trial of the game (playing for free) is so big and will never expire. Unlike other games that give you a 30 day trial Runescape gives you an unlimited trial along with an unlimited amount of accounts. And yes Jagex does know of the Auto Miners etc. Google it and you'll see what I mean. There is not much they can do to stop external sites promoting them. If they shut one down it will just respawn back in bigger numbers. They actually employee people to combat this, so don't say that they are doing nothing about it.Oh and someone said before "JAGEX DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU ONLY YOUR MONEY". That isn't true. They only care about the players who are members - which means that the correct statement is "Jagex only cares about you if you have money".
  24. Thats just crappy internet. I'd say get heaps of people together and write heaps of letters to the government, MP's etc. Get the word out there that you think the connection is %^&* compared to other countries. Thats what I'd be doing anyway.I just realised that your connection speed is the same as mine in New Zealand. It's ample for me but the lines could cope with 8gbs, thats why the government is making Telecom unbundle their service so that other companies can use their lines so that the prices are lower. Otherwise I'd be writing to my government, but they are already doing something about it.
  25. Hey,I want to rant about something - thats why I am here. Today we went to the mall and I went past EB Games (they sell games hence the name). I picked up their catalouge and I was looking through it while we were walking around the mall. I saw a page on the Nintendo DS. I have a Nintendo DS (not a DS lite) and I think it's a really good system. On this page was the DS Internet browser, you of course need to have a Wireless Net connection or a Wi-fi USB Adapator for the DS to beable to connect to the net. I wanted a USB Connector anyway so that was no trouble. I was reading the page and started to read the text on the Image of the case of the Internet Browser Software. It said it was only for Nintendo DS Lite. I was like what the hell. The Nintendo DS Lite was released what like 6 months after the actual DS and now they have started making games/software that is incompatiable with the Nintendo DS, does this mean that any new game released will now be incompatiable with anyone who has a orginal DS system? If it is I think it's rediciulous and that Nintendo should make a version that is compatiable with the DS system and stay loyal to anyone who still has a orginal DS system. If they don't they are really letting us all down ;)By the way does anyone know of a place to buy blank Nintendo DS game cards/cartridges? I'm sure I can download a browser somewhere off of the internet and somehow copy the browser onto it, does anyone know of a guide to do this?
