I prefer the console because it's just more comfortable and you don't have to worry if it's fast enough to play a specific game since all consoles of a specific type are around the same in hardware specs.

Harry Potter Is The Source Of All Evil.
kkrizka replied to Cool_Freaker's topic in General Discussion
Nah, I think Harry Potter is just a normal wizard with nothing special about him. Only that he survived that curse because his MOM (not himself) protected him. This makes him very arrogant and feel special. It's this that makes him do stupid things because he thinks that he is invincible and above everyone else. -
I do agree with Plenoptic, they are just a waste of money as there are many possible ways to get across. If they used the money that was set aside to build this wall to help the countries with people that they want to keep out. Then maybe those people would stop trying to immigrate illigaly because the life in their own country would be better. I'm sure at least a billion dollars could be rised this way, and that's quite a lot of money for those countries.

Yeah, those big corporations don't really care about the users because they usually have (1) monopoly (ei: Microsoft) or (2) so many users they don't care if they loose one. And howcome they can still charge the old number? Wasn't it changed already? And yeah, this seems to be the best thing to do. Cancel your account and encourage other on a widely populated forum to do so. Show them that we care!!!

Hehe, I called the Pizza Hut call center yesterday to complain because they screwed up my order. While being on hold they played this annoying jingle that was interrupted every we minutes by this commercial saying how great Pizza Hut's service is. It seemed quite ironic for he to hear that, considering how their service just screwed up and that's probably the only reason others will call that number too. Why would you call a pizza "customer service" number anyways, to get instructions how to eat your pizza?Oh yeah, and after being on hold for a long time, the woman told us that we called the wrong number so we had to wait again. At least it was a human voice .

Thank you for all your replies, seems I was I on the right track. There is one other definition that I found on digg today. It talks about how the Web2.0 sites are defined by creating an API that allows other sides to use it. I don't really think so because most of the sites don't provide it, or it's just hidden. Also other sites (ei Amazon, Google) had an API to be used by third party developers for ages. What do others think? By the way, here is the link: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/what-exactly-is-web-20/3848/

I don't really like flash clocks on websites because I think they just add too much unimportant clutter to the page. (I hate flash in general). But one thing that I like is the many different cool effects that people do with flash. So it's quite nice to see the many effects in one place, like your site! And it ranks in top ten at google? What's your secret ?

Halloween Costumes do you go out dressed in costume on halloween?
kkrizka replied to serverph's topic in General Discussion
I found that article this morning on digg.com. It looked really cool and if I had more time and money I would definitly make one for myself! Even if it would probably mean my girlfriend breaking up with me. -
What Is The Weirdest Thing You Eat? regularly or occasionally.
kkrizka replied to arnz's topic in General Discussion
Never had chicken liver, but I did have deer liver once. This was at a hunting trip I went with my grandfather. Couple of his friends shot a deer and the stuff that would get spoled easly, like heart and liver, had to be eaten immediatly. So my grandpa being the best cook there put it all in a bowl and bolied it. It was quite good, tasted like chicken . -
Zero Ziat's Place Also looking for admins ^_^
kkrizka replied to Zero Ziat's topic in Websites and Web Designing
How come there isn't anything in the body section of the webpage? I just get the navigation bar with bunch of borders and a big block white rectangle in the middle. Or do you need to login to see this? -
It's Back Again: New Style, New Looks
kkrizka replied to garbage's topic in Websites and Web Designing
It looks quite good, I think the colors blend quite well together. Just there is a big empty bar on the left, what is that? Are there supposed to adds that got blocked by my adblock? I think the navigation menu would do much better there, since that's where I usually look for it. And then the ads on the right side where the navigation is now.But I really like the graphcs and colors. I don't understand how some people can do that so good. I am very bad when it comes to aesthesics and creativity -
Yeah, procrastination with me is really bad too. For example I have an essay due soon and I haven't given it a though! But I still have a day to do it, so back to browsing the forums . Maybe the admins should create some kind of a timeban for those of us attending school.

When Was The Last Time You Watched A Television? Poll
kkrizka replied to Donegal's topic in General Discussion
The only time I ever watch TV is Monday, when RAW is on. Other than that, I am on my computer. -
The main thing about web builders is that they add a lot of unecessary code to the webpage. I am not sure how well dreamweaver handles this, but I think it does it quite well. I remember adding some php to a site my friend designed in dreamweaver and I didn't have to change much to make it clean code.I guess that is what such web site builders are good for. They can give someone a good start at the initial design. But all in all I think all sites should be written (or just edited) via a text editor in the end.

The biggest problem with people believing in psychics is that they can't be proved using the scientific method. Several experiments have been tried on this, and the results were that the "success"' rate of the psychics was the same as the chance rate. Also if psychic people exist, how come they haven't won the lottery yet? Yeah most probably believe "using their powers only towards good", but I am sure there are a few more greedy exceptions. Also about the magic you described. If it's true, how come we don't see more of it on TV and in the news? And about how devil can come between a couple, has anyone actually seen this "devil"? I think that this only happens by chance. Also is there any other spells you have seen in Egypt? Some might seem a bit more realistic, it would be interesting to see if there could be any explanation for them.

I use Kubuntu and like it quite a lot. First of all it's based on debian so there are many packages availble for it and they are fast and easy to install. Also it's easier to work with than Debian, so I can work instead of playing with it all the time (even though that can be fun at certain times). And finally it uses KDE instead of GNOME. I find KDE having more advanced features that make the life easier. But I have nothing against GNOME though, I would definitly suggest it to someone who only wants to use the computer to surf the web and read email.Btw, I'm running the beta version of kubuntu, Edgy Eft.

Time Slows At Light Speed I need help understanding this theory
kkrizka replied to wacky_stu's topic in General Discussion
I don't think that this relates to the original question. Yes if you are moving faster then you cover the same distance in less time (that's common sence after all), but the original question was about how the time you percieve is moving compared to how others percieve this. I think the explanation needs Einstein's theory of relativity instead of simple kinematics. But then I could be wrong. -
Hello, There is one thing that I am confused about. The price (in credits) of the two hosting plans, per what is it? Is it per month? or per setup? I think that would be useful information to include on the main page.

I liked the part 1 when I played it at my cousin's house. It wouldn't run on my computer for some reason, some Pixel Shader or something error. Maybe I'll try the second version over the winter break if I have time!

What exactly makes a webpage made for "Web 2.0"?I know one where I see one, it is very simple yet nice looking and might have some AJAX stuff. But what exactly is the "scientific definition" of a web2.0 page?I have several theories, but not sure which one is right.1) It has AJAX. Not sure how this makes it anything special. AJAX is just JavaScript that interacts with some other webpage, automaticly updating the page it is running at. But then JavaScript has existed for several ages and such cool effects were possible before. The funny thing is that 2 or 3 years ago any javascript was considered "bad web design" because no all browsers supported it.2) It has a socialist theme to it. This is something I've started noticing about web 2.0 sites. They all provide a way for different people to interact. youtube allows people to share videos, facebook allows people to create networks of friends and last.fm collects the names of song you play and compares them to other people and based on this gives you suggestions for new songs.3) This is definitly wrong, but it seems like a cool definition. The .com boubble, when internet came to the average user and new companies emerged from that. It has been slowing down until recently, with only the big players innovating. But now new companies are becoming famouse (ei: youtube) by bringing original concepts into reality. It's like another .com boubble, version 2.What do others think?

I used to use Gentoo for several years back and it is still my favourite distro! It had all the configuration files in one place (/etc/conf.d) and almost every application was setup and running with just simple emerge command. Now with ubuntu I have to type php-mode everytime I want to edit a php file in emacs and for the java environment I had to move some stuff around manually. The only problem with gentoo is that it sometimes takes forever to get some things working and I don't really have time for that while studying for exams. That's the reason I switched to Ubuntu for now.

I use konqueror because it integrates with my desktop environment (KDE) very nicely and has a lot of neat features like web shortcuts and a built in adblock. Also it shares the rendering library with safari so it is being worked on by 2 teams of developers and it was the 2nd engine to pass the ACID2 test (after opera)! But sometimes I with that firefox was written for KDE instead of GNOME because some of the availbile extensions for it look really cool and nifty.

This seems like a nice tutorial for people that just want to know what those numbers mean. But it would also be nice to give more background, maybe at the end or a seperate section, on how those numbers were created. Here is a short summary from what I know.Seach number consists of 3 bits. The first bit is read, second is write and third is execute. Since each bit can be eighter 0 or 1, then 0 means that one dosn't have those permissions and 1 means that he has. Also these numbers are binary, so they can be converted into the decimal number system. So let's look at some examples:r | w | x | in decimal----------------------1| 0 | 0 | 4 <--can read only, just like in your 1| 1 | 0 | 6 <--Can read and modify

I have watched several Dog episodes and he seems like a quite nice guy. He was even quite civil to the crooks that he caught. And about the law in Mexico, I think it is quite stupid. Mexico seems like the place that needs more "thief catchers" other than the police. At least that's what it seems to me from TV and other sources.
