  1. my new favorite game is by far Wolrd of Warcraft. I played at launch and I loved it, took a break and came back just recently and Imust say it's just as fun as it was back then.My old favorite would of been Swords and Serpents for NES, and the newly released Oblivion .
  2. I love classic rock, oldschool hip hop, and some of the real detroit based trance
  3. My posts are generally all over the place, but the bulk of my posts happen to be right here in the "General Talk" forum, with a 14% majority. A shout out to the General Talk people!
  4. I also have dual setups on my laptop and home home computer, because as many mentioned Linux apps are very limited at the moment. With the advent of Google's Linux flavor hopefully Linux will take another huge leap and temp developers to consider it as a major OS and potentially fruitful customer base.
  5. I also use AVG. Apart from being free it really uses a low amount of resources, and can be configured fairly easily, and quickly. I bought Kasperspy before which I loved, but didn't like the idea of paying for a product when a perfectly well respected free one was available to me .
  6. I have two sets of stairs in my house.. One that goes up and one that goes down, with wooden rails on both sides of each set. It's a pretty common design with the houses on my street. Nothing fancy about them .
  7. I'm using an AMD cpu. I used to use Intels exclusively, but a friend persuaded me to switch over. Intels while being more expensive really didn't offer me much more that the amd cpu could not fulfill.I suppose the biggest temptation to switch back then was the price, but now I'm noticing a bit superior performance in some of my multimedia applicaitons and games.
  8. About two years ago, during the toronto film festival, I was at my Father's small deli helping unload meat and vegetables (like I do almost every day!), and Jacki Chan walked in and ordered a vegetable sub. He was so happy and just talked to us about everything, how he loved Toronto what he was doing next, where my Father started the business (and that's bad news because my Father can talk about that for hours!), unfortunently I had to go for an interview (I got the job and still working there today) about 10 minutes after he arrived. My Father said he stayed for just over an hour chatting and helping chop vegetables, which is pretty nice seeing as how it's extremely busy.
  9. I didn't swim at all growing up, we just never did it. Later in university, that's when I started to learn and it was extremely funny swimming next to 5 year olds lol. Now I can swim, but I rarely do it, mainly during the summer when it's nice and hot .
  10. I may have the exact same monitor as yourself . Mine's also the Samsung Syncmaster, model 750s and it's pretty chunky I must say, but show me one crt that isnt . I have a second monitor that's a LG 19" flat screen.
  11. I use Trillian's Basic package as well . I don't really see a big difference between basic and pro other than support and a few glitcy features that's not required to chat without through multiple IM services. There's an alternative called Kapote that you may like. Unforunently, I don't have the url handy (at work and practically all search engines are banned ), but a google search should do the trick.
  12. I use Gmail, but I have set up Eudora to retrieve the emails. Eudora is very *crisp* with little to no fluff.. just what you need when you view 100,000 advertisements on my way to school/work .
  13. I'm not so sure thats the case here. If he had a virus that was using the host as a networking hub, then it would really rely on an active internet connection to send to other hosts. If he's unable to even load up windows or any OS this is probably not the case (although there may be other viruses active). To check if your harddrive is on it's last throes it's best to enable SMART from your bios (if it's not already enabled). That will tell you on bootup if there is a problem with your Hard drive. You may most likely need to format, as Saint_Michael and Savage17 suggested :/
  14. My all time favorites would have to be GTA (the original), Swords and Serpents (NES), and Morrowind. Now I"m totally hooked on the newly released Oblivion game by Elderscrolls. It's completely open ended with loads of things to do... Best RPG out there, although it's single player, it's far more entertaining than WoW imo .
  15. You should try "Damn Small Linux" - http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/ It's tiny at 50.4mb and requires very little to run- Being so small, it doens't have the greatest desktop environment or window managers, but it's got everything you need to get cooking - Best of luck
