  1. I never really wrote in a diary after 6th grade. I was all about doing it until then though. Wrote down what boy I liked every week. (It changed quite often! hehe) Anyway I stopped writing in a diary when I started doing fan fiction writing. All of my concerns and joys became therein contained, in the characters, their reactions, where they were going and how they were getting along with each other. I can tell, by going back and reading some of these stories, what was going on in my life in each chapter. Sometimes I'd go back months later and keep working on a story, but the flavor would be different because my mindset would have changed or I had some new worry to work through. Anway, like was posted earlier, I found it particularly cathartic in the dark winter months to write about being happy in the sun with trees. So you can imagine how many Lord Of The Rings fics I've done - those elves do love their trees!
  2. That's sad about the lady that was actually paying for those "facial treatments." I think, to be blunt, people should stick with what they got. Everybody is beautiful! (The hippie in me lol) Going along with what Ill said, my boyfriend has a lovely tan since he spends so much time outside surfing and whatnot, but he'd still be unbelievably hot even if he was pale like me (which, as it turns out, he thinks is attractive. go figure lol)
  3. I really like this one! Usually rhyming with such short lines can be obnoxious, but I didn't think that was the case here. *raises hand* I've been there emotionally, when you never think it's possible to heal and then you meet someone that can change your whole world. *sigh* I'm so in love!
  4. LMAO! Nice use of odd looking Bush pics to really put it in perspective. I like the "Texas girl, just like me" one. *sighhhh* The poor guy. I'm not sure he thinks before he talks most of the time. Or else maybe he's just not reading the script correctly? Either way, he won't be mistaken for Bill Clinton as a smooth talker trying to pull one over on us!
  5. I said yes, I think the evidence is pretty convincing. I just cannot believe that this keeps happening! I mean why can't (or don't) these parents get a clue and figure out he's probably not a person you want to be sending your kids off to visit. Can his money be that impressive to risk it!? I took a look at that article link you posted. (The picture of Tom Sneddon is too funny by the way) I watched most of the Bashir documentary and I just really don't think Jackson gets it. I really don't think he knows what he's doing. Not that I'm excusing it by any means, if in fact they do finally find him guilty. But he doesn't seem connected to any sense of reality whatsoever (which has to be the understatment of the year).
  6. It sounds like you've been having fun Wassie. hehe Good on you! I just got an email from a friend that said she was having a jolly good time with "Carnival" too. Must be quite a party! Happy Birthday to your mum
  7. oye! I'd love to have broadband! I have dialup and am lucky if I can get it up to 40K. Usually I'm running somewhere around 32K. Unlike the author of that article, I do have relatives that would require me to use the cam because living in different countries, we can't see each other any other way. I can't even imagine what cam would look like on broadband! With the way it is now, you have to move very slowly or else you just look like a blur or you get caught making a weird face for a long time before the cam refreshes! I don't download MP3s and avoid video files, but I tell you what, if I had a faster connection, I'd be getting into all kinds of 'trouble' like that
  8. The Pats have been my team since they lost to Green Bay in 1996 I think it was. LOL I liked GreenBay at the time, but since the patriots lost to em, I figure they gotta be second best in the world, obviously, so thus my second fav team pick was born. (crazy huh) Anyway, since the Packers didn't make it this year, I wanted the Pats to win (even though Drew Bledsoe isn't with them anymore, who I thought was awesome when he was with them. And YAY they won again this year! Go pats!
  9. Oh please don't tell me you're turning toilet seats into an equal rights issue! If you want to get on a soap box about "double standards," bathroom problems aren't exactly material for a cogent argument. (Unless it's just a facetious suggestion, which I hope it is.) If you want to talk double standards, let's go with glass ceilings in the workplace, for example. There aren't a whole lot of gentlemenly 'perks' women receive as it is - postmodernism has killed chivalry. So holding doors, paying for dinner, toilet seats... what else might "gentlemen" do for their ladies that isn't too much work? Oh, but right, the equality thing... we have to treat females equally. If it's going to come down to a gender-related rights issue, I for one will pay for dinner myself and open my own doors. But I would hope, out of the respect we have for each other, that my significant other wouldn't feel it was an issue of "rights" or equality, but that we would just do things for the other because we love each other.
  10. I was just wondering that same thing -- why haven't we gone back? They learned all they need to know just on that one trip? Maybe we haven't gone back because it's of the American mind that we should always be doing things "bigger and better." Consumerism and materialsim rule in our Post Modern society. What I'm saying is, maybe the moon is too simple. We have to go way out there to Jupiter or whatever to prove that we're interested in space exploration. (Doesn't seem much to explore if we can actually SEE the moon from our backyards - doesn't seem so impressive and pictures are always in black and white anyway, not nearly so impressive as the red on Mars ) I hadn't even ever concidered that we hadn't gone to the moon until I saw that documentary. (I think I saw it on the local PBS station.) The documentary made a pretty convincing arguement I thought.
  11. For the CNTRL U, hit "colorize", right? heyyy that's pretty neat I did another layer, Inverted horizontal, then vertical, and hit CNTRL U and did 142, 75, 0. Then did a "Screen" overlay. That's some crayzee electicity maaan
  12. Today has been a pretty good day so far! When I got up this morning I thought it might suck, but things I have been worrying about are starting to dissipate. woohoo! I was able to catch up with a friend that I've been missing sooo much but both of us are so busy with real life stuff, we just haven't had time to talk. I'd been concerned maybe we were growing apart because we don't spend much time together, but I can see now clearly that isn't that case, for which I am very relieved. The sun came out today and I actually got to see clear blue sky! It also made some of the snow melt. I'm so sick of snow. Of course now when it freezes tonight and the roads are wet, it'll freeze down and create ice making for difficult driving tomorrow. But for now, I'm glad it's melting! I think now I'm just wasting time until I can talk to my bf tonite. He went to a 3rd Day concert last night, a Christian rock band, and I can't wait to ask how that went! We didn't really get to talk today and I miss him... hope he doesn't mind I jump him today because I got so much to say! (Well you know what I mean) Okay I'll stop rambling now, I'm just excited is all
  13. I read some of your poems. They're very interesting; the ones I read all sort of have the same feeling of randomness. In that poetry class I took in college, there was one form of poetry where you would print off a page of any text and then tear it to pieces. Then you would pull out one word at a time, do 5 words per line, and then that would be your poem. It was really quite fun when we did it in class. Anyway, particularly "5 Scenes" feels like that sort of construction of a poem was used. How did you do this poem--what was your inspiration? I'm intrigued. My favorite line I think is "Network hipbone butter effortless" because of the soundplay involved.
  14. I'm a fan of the guest judges (though that Sugar Ray guy would only ever say the exact same thing Randy said). I think it's a good idea. I'm going to watch the ep with that Kiss guy on it. Hopefully he'll tell people they suck. LMAO That sounds aweful! I just think that because Randy and Paula always agree with each other it seems, it'd be good to have somebody on the side of Simon. I know I agree with him most anyway!
  15. This may sound like a pretty simple response, but I really like the last one because I can see clearly what it is. lol Why not a white background btw? I think starting out it looks just fine! Maybe you were thinking grey instead?
  16. What did they do with the brain after they got done with it? 240 pieces to go to individual museums? heh Even if he did have a normal size, I think he'd have to be using more OF his brain and that'd have something to do with chemicals, or electrical impulses or something.
  17. Interesting site, looks like somebody knows how to do css. heheh Had no idea there was a way to rate blogs. Some of them have cash prizes right... well on the Best American one for example, they got US$20.05 to The Blog Herald. I wonder what the extra $.05 is for? Is that shipping and handling? LOL
  18. Nah I don't think they're hired. I think those people are in fact genuinely bad singers but the idea of Fame has put sparkles in their eyes, so they decide that they're actually good enough in their own heads to audition. I think it's actually pretty kind of the judges to come out with it if they think a person can't sing. It'll save them a lot of time and money in the end. (Though Simon is particularly... colorful about it)
  19. *claps for Sixer* good for you (I can't believe this thread is still going on! ) Hottest girl in the world hmm. Is it... is it me?
  20. don't they have software for to keep your pic files organized like that? I'm sure I've seen it somewhere... *thinking hard* I agree, it's a great idea to have the ability (and option) to add info tags to images
  21. just seems like the next 'cool thing' everybody's gotta have w/o really knowing why. seems slightly rediculus to me that you have to buy everything else separately to go along with the 'cute' box. I think people are pretty rigid about their PC or MAC affiliations and I don't think this will create any conversions.
  22. While I don't do energy drinks (too many carbs) I did read in National Geographic this week, if you really want to kick it up during a long party, go with Red Bull. Tonssss of caffine in it (less than 2 excedrine though). Of anything, if I was to drink something, I'd have to go with a Mountain Dew Code Red (diet of course lol). That stuff just tastes good!
  23. I actually did more buying of gifts this year than receiving, but that's okay because it's all about the giving anyway, aye? I think the best gift I got this year was some quiet time alone. Seems the holiday season always gets too crowded with stuff! Hope everyone was able to find some happy moments this Christmas
  24. I really like the "I adore you" one, which happens to be first on the list. I love it when my sweetie says, "You're my angel." Makes me go *sighhh* every time. hehe I was wondering just now if the "You had me at hello" started with that Jerry Maguire movie because that was the first I'd ever heard it.
  25. Yep, I said gmail too. Seems to me the people at hotmail went uh-oh we better give accounts lots of space (250mb) only after gmail popped onto the scene like they knew they had to do something or they'd lose people. Kinda seems too little too late if ya ask me... Gmail just runs a whole lot quicker w/o the annoying ads. Guess I've just been annoyed at hotmail's "your account is reaching its limit" thing for too long
