Alrighty.. RAM - For those games you should have 1gb if you dont want to lag. Try getting two 512mb corsair RAM sticks. Those are the best for gaming. DDR2 if possible, if not just DDR Processor (CPU) - A minimum 2GHz should be fine. AMD should be your first choice so try getting an AMD Athlon XP 2400. Anything faster than that is fine. Graphics Card[/] - If you get an intel processor, go for an ATI graphics card, if you get an AMD one, go for a Nvidia. You should try and aim for 128mb of video RAM, again more if you want. Hard Drive - Try getting a SATA hard drive with adleast 160GB of space. That should be fine for games, graphics and programs. Sound Card - Its optional. If you want to get one make sure you have decent speakers or its not worth it. Some motherboards come with incorporated sound cards, those are fine. Mother Board - This is the most difficult to find. Make sure it supports all your other connections, DDR or DDR2 for your RAM, SATA or ATA for your hard drive. Make sure it doesnt have an intergrated graphics card. Any other questions just ask them.

Its really what you want and how much money you have to spend. Theres no use sending you the link for an Intel Xeon Quad chip because theres no way you could even max that out. What sorts of games do you play? Do you play them online? Do you use your computer for anything else? What operating system do you want to run?

Definately build your own computer dude. Youll get exactly what you want and for much cheaper than the pre packaged stuff. If you want a modern day gaming machine i suggest.3GHz + Processor or 2.8GHz+ Dual core1-2gb of good RAM, Cosair preferably.A decent video card with 128-256mb of video RAM.160gb + SATA Hard drive.Also make sure you get the right motherboard! Theres no use buying all the parts and finding your motherboard only supports Socket 754s when you have a socket AM2!Look under the hardware forum, i know there is oen really good guide on putting together your own computer and i had a topic discussing specs.

One thing you should take into account is to start your own web hosting business you need alot of money. All of that hardware and software costs thousands and thousands of dollars. If you want to host your own business. You can jsut get a reseller plan from place like Computerhosting.

Take it down to your local computer shop and ask what they can do for you. Just tell your parents that your going for a walk. They may be able to fix it pretty quick but if they cant, you know.

I dont think thats a good move by dell. People would buy a Dell computer if they 'dont know what they are looking for'. They are probably the cheapest on the market here, New Zealand, and lots of other places as well. I have seen Dell advertising gaming computers but i'd much rather build my own.

Try your own internet connection on her computer to make sure that her one can access the internet without using the ethernet.

I dont think nudity is especially bad. I watch CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York, NCIS (Yes im a big CSI Fan!) they have rape stories and flash backs, thats on at 8:30pm. The simpsons and family guy have sex and nudity themes on them, thats on at 7:00pm.I think nudity is a way of life, as other people have said.Change the channel if you hate it!

Like michael helper said, it wouldnt be easy to change it. I dont have any trouble remembering my hosting credits, i always try and keep it around a fixed number, you lose 1 a day so they are not that hard to keep track of.

EDITIts back up and running. I decided to wipe the hard drive altogether and install a fresh legal copy of windows XP. It boots up in about 10 seconds and takes the same amount of time to shut down again.

If you want a good portal with no ads, register and sign up for an account plan. Then through your cpanel you can make a wide range from php-nuke to geeksource.If you want to MAKE your own, learn php and mysql. After that it should be pretty obvious.

If you want to truely speed up your computer, by more RAM or a new CPU (Make sure you get the socket right). If you want t clean up your computer and optimize its settings go through disk clean up, disk defrag etc.

Mayby tie the 2 in somehow. Sell cans of softdrink around campus and stick a sign saying recycle on it. With the cans you gather up take to the local recycling club and they'll give you something like 5c per can.

Just living in New Zealand, ive noticed it this year. Usually over winter we get a bit of snow at ground level, cold southerly winds and rain. This year has just been freak. The stream that runs through our town rose something like 2.5 meters and all the people along the river bank had to be evacuated. We have had extreme snow and frosts. It would be heavy rain one night, then in the morning it would just freeze over.In the news as well, Europe & the United States having their big heatwaves and China having horrific floods.
