Well you COULD access one using PHP, if it's saved on the server... using the OBDC protocol. But it's easier to use the included MySQL database, and you can export MS Access databases in MySQL format if I'm not mistaken.Panda

Awesome, I get to help out - All information regarding the features is on the Main-Page. If you want to know how to use those particular features, I'd suggest a google search. 10 Credits is enough for the Starting Package, however you can Go for 30, and immediately apply for the Advanced Package. You have unlimited databases, however all databases will be prefixed with your Cpanel username (correct me if I'm wrong) so It will be 'thapanda_invision' in my case. There is NO maximum filesize, however creating a download-only site is discouraged (prohibited?) I'd suggest taking it easy on the extremely large files, or use something like rapidshare for downloads relevant to your site, but larger than necessary. Of course, you can't upload anything larger than your maximum disk space allotted, based upon the package you signed up for. I'm not all Javascripty - I'm a PHP guy, so I don't know about that... War file = ? Apache service - This server is hosted by the owner, and he does allow shell access (to a degree, if I'm not mistaken) on a as-needed basis. (I could be thinking about Xisto though). Tampering with the servers is strictly prohibited, no doubt. But Apache is always running 99.9% uptime... So I'm not sure of your question here. - Panda

Gotta agree with editor-Also say that The blue is overwhelming, I'm thinking a different shade? Or another color altogether.

Cars Of The Future What will they look like, and be like?
thablkpanda replied to tuddy's topic in Science and Technology
Are the rims customizable? Let's slap some 22" spinners on your 'SMART' car... lolI'm thinking like the Cadillac Cien (concept). Flying cars - good idea, but with a bad implementation it could be fatal for EVERYONE. Simple things will become compliacted.. for example -Murder made easy -> Drop your car on someone's house, business, banks, gas stations (explosions) etc. And just 'eject' before it hits the ground.Bank robberies -> Fly from 40ft up, and ram the safe-walls. Load up and zoom off in your accomplice's car... This will require reinforced housing, businesses, etc. And add all kinds of laws, new police force, etc. It'll be expensive, not just for the client but for the government.Panda -
Aww HAIL no.You didn't put Diablo II : Lord of Destruction on there. It owns all your puny MMORPGs. WoW - I didn't like. Dunno why. LOLRest - I haven't played.Diablo II owns them, really,I've been playing since two patches before the expansion (1.05) and I won't quit till we have to start playing TCP/IP. I'm addicted.Panda

I don't use either-Ironically I prefer Panda Software (no affiliation). Could be just the cool Panda icon on my Taskbar...Panda Internet Security Suite 2005 is my current virus protection software, and all the computers in the office use it also. It's reliable, stopped a couple viruses I wrote (simple delete-everything types ) for testing purposes only of course....Nice firewall equipped too. All around this is a great program. Also nice to look at the cool Panda for a while too.- The real Panda

Hey,Buddy it's a business. They've gotta make their money somewhere. Where do you think the money from their Free accounts comes from? Hate to break it, but that's business. And plus, a $6.90 @ $200 processing fee isn't bad, I charge more for clients that insist upon paying cash, opposed to with checks. (And I get free checking.. so it doesn't matter, it's all profit) :)Panda

I suggest KDE oddly.I use SUSE linux, comes with both pre-installed, but I use KDE for some odd reason (first on the choices list.. I can just hit enter) KDE is more windows-like, so good for a 'newb' to Linux. However if you're not scared of linux, I'd say forget a GUI and work command-line style. Less distracting and faster loading.Panda

Linux Newbie Administrator Guide complete reference guide
thablkpanda replied to serverph's topic in Operating Systems
Hum.. Haven't read the guide you posted (no need for it) but I'd like to add -If you're a newbie to Linux, I highly reccomend SUSE. No doubt it's the best for new peoples. Very much worth the cash. Then I'd read the books that came with it first.Panda - Nice post. -
Flashearth Google Maps + MSN Virtual Earth + Flash
thablkpanda replied to serverph's topic in Search Engines
I'll stick with the oversized Google Earth download. And I might purchase a few lisences, to enable GPS positioning and such, seeing as we use them on our Mobile Units making Service calls and such.Nice post..Panda -
Very true.. Can't just slap some spinners one of these, and call it 'pimped'. It'll take some body mods and such, which will drag preformance of the car, and cause it to need gasoline backup. Also impractical for anything but grandma's use. Impractical for businesses, etc. Panda

Internet Explorer 7 Beta I and its at my favorite site
thablkpanda replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Science and Technology
IE=Pure evil, no matter what number you put beside it.Layout is lame IMO, the bar at the very top, must be annoying.Firefox owns you all. Admit it.Panda -
Ah yes, one of those times I'm glad that I have that pretty BP/Exxon/Amoco Business Card Account.. Feel free to envy me.No, don't, I get terribly overcharged at the end of the month, but this very moment, this means nothing to me .Anyway, True the crisis is upon us, and when the stock market crashes, That'll just make my day (I had a few thousand in the oil sector. It's worth exactly $125 (and dropping) now.) No sense in pulling it out -Gas is 3.50 here, and my company vehicles Drink gas, (Company vans, we should scale down, but you can't put ladders and pipe in a Ford Focus). So we pretty much have to overcharge our clients, which sucks for them because they're asking why the bill is $3,000 larger than it was three weeks ago. Go figure geniuses, these guys have college degrees, and I'm 'almost' out of high school. Seriously.Anyway, this is the corporate view on all this. Take it how you wish.Panda

The New Aol/aol Browser. Your Thoughts.
thablkpanda replied to Compute's topic in Science and Technology
Other than AIM, AOL sucks, for reasons I'll state - Firstly - They falsely lead their clients on, thinking they provide free firewalls and virus protection. True, they do just that, but not one that rivals (in any capacity) the Norton Antivirus & main players in the Firewall/Security game. Secondly - It's Slow. Now, I understand it's dial-up, but even their DSL is slow. I used their service (Dial-Up) when my company was in a budget crisis. We WERE paying $75 a month for a Hi-Speed Commercial connection. It got out of hand quickly (when they say $75, they mean $86 - before 'taxes and fees') So we switched to AOL temporarily. That was a REAL crisis. True, we saved money, but we wasted valuable man-hours waiting for pages to load, information to be sent, etc. Thirdly - Their browser is over-functional. Yes, there is a such thing as OVER-FUNCTIONAL. When you include all the 'utilities' they do into one; Resource hogging program, it really puts a hurtin' on ya. It takes forever to load their browser, pages load too slow (as a result of it's resource hogging) etc. Hence ends my rant - Don't use AOL, please.. I beg of you Panda -
LOL,They're ugly as all get out - but if they save me money, I'm sure I can 'Pimp that ride' or something. Don't go very fast though do they? 50 km/h is only.... um.. *counts on fingers* I dunno how many MPH...Still, if it saves us money, they're going to be VERY rich.Panda

Lol @ Mayank.I'll recommend Nguyen's for anyone looking for ease of use.I'll post my tut in a few mins (or once I get my computer running right again). It's easily installable (moreso than others)But yes, we do use the sig-switching script, not manually - lol - that'd be highly time consuming.Mr. Panda

Couldn't have said it better myself -If you try to be something you're not, then it will backfire, no doubt. You'll be caught in a lie, and she'll not forgive you for it, unless she really, really, likes you for more than all that (rare individuals, those are).Panda
