Dont Download Stuff From Lokitorrent
thablkpanda replied to Raptrex's topic in Security issues & Exploits
I gotta concur wit ya there. I mean nobody here has the thousands of dollars necessary to spend on a court case with the MPAA/Specific Music Companies. They've got lawyers, you've got your Mommy and Daddy... And besides, if we had the cash money to pay for lawyers and shizit, nobody'd download that stuff from Kazaa or iMesh or whatever. We'd go out and buy the stuff ourself. Pandalicious (You like that, alot. NAAAAA, don't talk. I said you like that.) -
I'm running a cable connection from Time Warner Cable, I have (supposedly) 4.0 mbps download. However I route my connection through a 802.11b 5<mbps wireless connection (which means, for the slightly speed illiterate, I go about 900kb/s) Which sux considering that I'm paying $45-$50 each month (depending upon what they're feeling like that month.)Pandalicious (You like that. No i'm not asking you, I'm telling you...)

Making A Website Also Some Dos and Donts
thablkpanda replied to mzwebfreak's topic in General Discussion
Don't be stereotypical JT, if you don't mind. Not all Downloaded fonts look stupid. I have some rather nice fonts that I downloaded simply because of personal preference/Opinion. Check out a font called HANA. I forget where I got it from, but it's actually a decent sans-serif-like font. Panda -
So I'm at school in computer class, and I said, to myself, "Hey Chris, why don't you log into Xisto.com and do some posting?" then I said back to myself "Chris, what a great freakin Idea." So I boot up the computer nearest me, and log in. I open IE, (yeah i don't have priveleges to install firefox ) so once I open IE and type Xisto.com/forums, and press 'go', the computer immediately displays: Sorry, Xisto.com (http://forums.xisto.com/) is not permitted and classified as Bullitten Boards."WHAT?" Says I, "Well, let me try some of my other favorite sites...Sorry, Diabloii.net (diablo.incgamers.com/) is not permitted and classified as Bullitten Boards/Gaming.Sorry, Diablorealm.net ( diablorealm.net/index.php?/page/index.html) is not permitted, and is classified as Bulliten Boards/Gaming.Sorry, Xnxx.com ( xnxx.com/) is not permitted and is classified as Porn LOL, but reallyDoes anyone know how to get around this? Mabye I could setup a fake domain name to link to Xisto, so I could get to these banned sites... Or more info would be helpful...Realest Atlanta Black Fluffy Gangsta Balla Pimpin Panda

Okay, Images, I see. Thanks for that, but the images are hard to incorporate into my current layout. So I'll give it a shot. I agree with the forum thing tho, I had meant to fix the skin to one I created, before I made it public but it slipped my mind. I know that nothing's inside, smart one.. lol Read the index page, lol It says that nothing really works right.. lol I just wanted layout comments, not a whole 411- low-down on my site... lol That's mainly an IE problem I think, because the page looks perfect in Mozilla. IE adds a 8px margin to any margin I create, so if I set a margin as 20 px, then IE reads it as 28, so I loose 8 px of padding. But I will fix all that... Thanks Thanks for the constructive criticisim (sp) and thanks for the not-so constructive stuff... lol PEACE Panda

T3 Internet Connections Ever heard of it?
thablkpanda replied to PHPtech's topic in Science and Technology
T3 (or any T-x connection for that matter) is non-sensible for anyone besides a corporation/college campus. downloading at 2.xx gigs a second would be completely AWESOME, but way not worth it, unless you plan to distribute fiber-optics to your whole neighborhood. (And make them pay out the a** for it.) Downloading anything would be childs play though, those large downloads some of us dread(ed) like photoshop, at 60-90 megs, would take less than a second. That's pure insanity. It would drive someone crazy, because a good quarter of my computer time is spent waiting for stuff to happen. Once you add it all up. Install New Fonts on Windows XP / 98
thablkpanda replied to Not a Robot's topic in General Discussion
Someone tell me, if you select a different font to be on your site, that you have installed on your computer, will it be viewed the same to everyone else? Or will it look like the regular Times New Roman? ex. font-family: HANA; ^-- CSS code on my stylesheet (just a lil bit of it) http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ^-- Do me a favor and visit my site, tell me if my site shows a different-ish font, with a distinct difference from Times New Roman. Panda -
Yeah, It looks alright in my opinion, but I think you guys are a lil too picky about the look, I care more about it doing it's job. Also, I move around alot, and take my PS2 with me, but if the new Playstation is as heavy as the X-Box, that will completely run me out. Along with the alleged $500 price tag. I suppose that'd turn alot of people away, I don't make enough money to pay for that thing without financing it... lol, mabye that's a bit of an exaggeration, but that's alot of money to pay for a gaming system, I could buy a very decent desktop computer, or a lame <-> cheap laptop.Panda

The psp connects either via bluetooth, or it was 801.22a/b/c/g (or whatever that number is) wireless connection, if there's a wireless router/network in the vicinity. The memory sticks it uses are similar to the camera 'memory cards' that we put in digital cameras. Those do not, cost 400 dollars, and you can get them at electronics stores for 25-125 dollars depending upon the amount of storage space you need. This is what I understand from the PSP's official website. I possibly may be wrong, seeing as noone's perfect, and I don't own a PSP. Panda P.S. I wonder what it'd be like to try to play any video game system without opposable thumbs, (pandas... to be specific)

Mabye I'm paranoid,Possibly a hacking attempt? Uni.cc has alot of data and forwards ALOT of sites. If they were to just 'disappear', alot of people would lose sites. (not the data, of course, but the forwarding. I daresay that if they were hacked, and it were me, I would've done alot cleaner job (if I knew how to do that stuff) and left a lil' trademark :)Panda-P.S. So really? What did happen? I was planning to register with them a few hours ago, (being the spur of the moment man I am).Panda OUT

I concur. I like the idea about taking the company to court, but if posession of said laser pointer is illegal, then, the company will, no doubt, counter-sue on the basis of your posession of the laser pointer. But since you bought the pointer from them, they'd have no case really. But they should assume you have enough common since to know it's illegal. Quite a confusing case, maybe I should take up law. Anyone want to help me out there? (clarification from someone with a real law degree or major/minor?Pandaz

How Do You Make A .avi File Into A .gif
thablkpanda replied to spawn_syxx9's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
That'd be the economic way, so to speak, but it's not going to make the perfect animation. It'll be more choppy. I suggest you just include the .avi's into your site using the xhtml's <object></object> tag. But when was the last time I was right about this stuff? lolPanda -
I think I know what your problem is, but it's not as visible as it was when I had it.When you turn an image into a link, the image retains the standard blue 'hyperlink' border. In order to counter-act this when you use an image as a hyperlink, you must use css, or html header code to change the color of links to what you want it to be, if you use html, it will apply to the whole document, but if you use css, you can specify, with the <div type=...></div> tag, and css's division tags.Hope that was helpful,Typin Panda

Best Gta/ Favorite Mission In Gta? Opinions
thablkpanda replied to PHPtech's topic in Computer Gaming
GTA III was the s**t, and it still is, I have all the GTA games, but III is my favorite. Mainly because the idea was 'fresh' as you put it, but also because the whole idea was pulled off right then, there were a few (only a couple) things I'd change about the game, and considering that Rockstar still had to market GTA VC and SA, there's not much more they could do w/ the newer versions. So My favorite mission(s) is/are the ones you do with the mafia, the whole experience is cool, and they're the gang you work for the longest, before they attempt to assassinate you. Then you go get revenge by killing your former boss, it's too cool. I also like that whenever you drove around in mafia territory after that, they'd shoot at you with their shotguns, and blow the shizit out of your car in 2-3 shots. I love that game, and those missions.ATLANTA, GEORGIA! HOLLA <<< back <<<A-town Panda -
If more people'd use ICQ, it'd be a more secure, and popular (duh) service. I think that the numbers thing is kind-of like when you get a new phone number, it takes you a while to memorize it, but once you do, you can't forget it, even once you've changed your phone number, (happens about 2-3 times a year with me) ya'll must think I'm hiding from the FBI or something. But seriously, ICQ is a decent service, and I've never had any trouble from them like AIM gave me.PandaBTW, ya'll like the new sig?
-
Yeah, but everyone has problems, you have trillian though right? (just wondering)
-
I use ICQ, and it's a decent service. I find the ICQ number system alot more convinient than the username thing. It's more discreet in my opinion. But if you use ICQ, I suggest u switch to Trillian from the traditional ICQ lite or full versions, trillian is the best multi-client communications package available. And it's free. There's a few things about it that I can't say here, but if you want to know more, visit http://www.trillian.im/ and download trillian basic. Once you do that, hit me up on ICQ or your favorite messaging client. 209257750, ICQ the rest are down there \/ panda- OUT

Yo, trillian 3.1 is the best multi-client ever. And they keep updating, so it just get's better and better. No way could they improve it in my opinion but, they commence doing so. Go to http://www.trillian.im/ and download the basic version. Once you do that, do yourself a favor and hit me up at 209257750, and I'll have something for you.

Yeah, since g-mail started offering their gig of space, everyone's trying to match or top it. And there's no sense in trying. Because the thing that makes gmail so much better, is that they offer the archive and search functions that use google's "revolutionary search technology" or whatever. That's the big kicker that most people aren't seeing when they want to be the biggest provider of e-mail space. They obviously don't understand to leave the playin to the playaz, and let the lames do their thing, just don't steal gmail's peoplez... lolpanda

Top Five....1. Gran Turismo 4Most everyone likes it tho, so it's my number one, and i've still gotta beat it.2. Star Ocean : Till' The End of TimeYeah, the ultimate RPG/Strategy game for PS2, it's been through PS1 as Star Ocean : The second Story, and the original, that noone knows about. It's still the best RPG I know of, so screw Final Fantasy.3. Grand Theft Auto : San AndreasIt goes on my list somewhere, lol, I kinda lost interest in GTA after GTA:VC, because they're all the same BASIC plot, just some large enough differences to make it marketable. Like GTA III featured the best graphics, and pretty much revolutionized the series, but after that, it started going down.... But hey, still made my top 5.4. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 I have to have a 2 player fighting game to play with my lil' sis whenever I come home, so this is it. She's a huge DBZ fan, like I used to be when I was real little, (she's only 8) so that's why I keep this around.5. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Underground (NOT THE SEQUEL)I like the first one, screw the second. I bet ya'll never heard of a black guy playing tony hawk huh? Well here I be. It's not my favorite game, but it's alright, and beating it alot is more fun each time. Thanks, panda

Harnessing that power, is one of the great visions of the future of earth, yes, but we need to hurry up, the sun's only got a few billion years on it's timeclock, and we won't have forever to make these science-fiction dreams come true. Don't get me wrong, a billion years is a long time thinking day, by day, but in the long run, considering the time it's taken us to make big achievements in science, we're very far behind. If our developmental schedule is moved up by, say, 5,000 years, we'd be in much greater position to make nice fantasies like this. And until people decide to take the earth in better respect before we kill ourselves off waaayy before the normal, or expected 10 billion years from now, beause of a lack of natural resources that we suck up like kool-aid (bad analogy, but it's corny). Science lesson over, thanks.... Panda
