Worst Health Article Of All Time This really disgusts me
biscuitrat replied to Caveman's topic in Health & Fitness
Haha, that would pretty much kill my day, but I can safely say I don't eat half the stuff on that list regularily, even if I love cupcakes. I have this weird thing about balancing my food. If it's sweet, I have to have something salty after. If it's spicy, I want to have something sweet. Although I'm bummed that they put soda up there. Where would we be without caffeine and unnecessary sugars?! Vegetarianism rocks -
Very nice! For a sun on earth, I take a very light yellow and use the soft rounded brush and make it so it's about 200 px (or whatever) wide and blot it on a seperate layer, and then apply layer effects/textures if necessary. An example of this would be: Which is a very VERY simple sun and uses the grass texture. I have another one with a premade brush, but I'll have to go sift through about a year's worth of photoshop tests to find it

Just a thought, hue and saturation would work just as well. -
Mmorpg Online Games Mmorpg Games online / Online Mmorpg games
biscuitrat replied to BWiZ's topic in Computer Gaming
I'm absolutely addicted to World Of Warcraft. Greatest game I've ever played, and I mean it. It's worth the price, especially as fast as they update it and the depth of everything in the game. -
I love the game, although the electric guitar kicking in is a little goofy, and the voice acting can be quite horrible, it has such a moving storyline. You're almost constantly on the go. The second you start the game, you're thrust into a naval battle (and you get some pretty close up views of the lady that's trying to kill you). The art style is gritty and it reminds me of Eternal Darkness: the Dahaka can be anywhere and when it chases you, it goes into black and white, with you trying to flee it. I don't like how the female characters seem to be so "defined". Again, the art style factors in. I still think they should have spent some more time on the game. The gameplay rocks; the prettiness...not so. Still acceptable and a good game, at any rate. Then again I played it on GC...

Not a bad idea. I personally can't do anything remarkable in flash, so I can't help you there. But I can tell you that the backgrounds need work. I would make the backgrounds more solid, less scruffy. The characters walking around in the game need to be able to stand out from the background, so the neater you make that, the more distinct your characters will be. I have seen worse (it's called contemporary art ). Another thing that stands out is the grass. Neon green is not a realistic (or very comfortable-on-your-eyes) grass color. I would think more of a pine green with highlights and shadows. Photoshop has a grass brush you can use that'll really make things nice. Here's an example of one I made: It's that easy! And I'm only a year older than you, so it's not hard!

I don't know about you guys, but my internet is sort of awry. When it goes it, it can stay out for a few days - enough time for my hosting to expire. I think people would feel more comfortable posting in the forums if they had a certain quota each month. Many people have busy lives with families and work that doesn't give them the choice to sit at a computer whenever they want, unless, of course, you want them to post at work when they should be working. Maybe, post 5 things a month? Something more relaxed. A community is one that should form without being forced to update and post all the time. And aside from the internet problems, many people go on vacation and can't access a computer or internet. I mean, if you're in the middle of India with no adaptors and power outtages ten times a day, what are you supposed to do? Not everyone can afford a laptop or a wireless connection and the chief concern of most people isn't keeping their account "alive", but talking to their families and researching. This forum posting requirement is a little draconian. How can you expect the majority of normal people to spend the time and effort to post and keep their community alive? Xisto has some great services, but with all the forum posting necessary, is it really worth it?

You can also try Lissa Explains for the basics and much more. It's a fun site =)

The 1st and 5th duckies are very good. Other than that, it's not so good. But you have a lot of talent. If you branch out of the duckies, you may do something really well! I've always been interested on how to make the PIP icons and the flashing text. Thanks for sharing

The facial hair just didn't suit Thewlis and he seemed rather pudgy for the role. The third movie over all was a lot better than the first two (which I slept through). Although, the only thing I have to say, is I'm not such a fan of Harry Potter movies. I would gladly read the books over and over again, but not more than once or twice for the movies. I just don't like seeing the world visualized for me, albeit boringly.

I would think if you just offer subdomains...and set up FTP accounts and login features through your cpanel, you could do something. I've tried doing this too, and so far, I haven't been successful with it. Anyone else have ideas?

Can You Give Me Tips On How To Create A Web Page?
biscuitrat replied to cman500's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I would recommend you look at other sites and see what sort of design elements you want. Also plan what you want your site to be about. I strongly recommend Lissa Explains because it's simple and fun. w3 has updates and current forms of HTML, and it's also a very good place to learn. -
That's really cute! I would love one! You have some talent! Shading is hard in paint. The best piece that I've ever painted I can't find anymore.

Online Free Buttons Generator Very cool
biscuitrat replied to Lyon's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I love making my own buttons. Since my harddisk crashed, I have yet to reinstall Photoshop so I've used Fireworks which is a massive degrade, but now I have to make gelly buttons and metallic layouts by hand instead of choosing the appropriate filter. It really tunes my already high level of graphic skills (I prefer to have a large ego :-p) and I'm getting better at it! -
Tangerine Dreams My cute lil template
biscuitrat replied to biscuitrat's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thanks I guess I could lighten the background. It's meant to be a tad bright :-p, and I'll fix the links thing right away. I made that first when I hadn't made it tangeriny. And I just stuck an image in, and bang. I had a totally different template. The old one had some icky sea green in the background. -
I guess you can just make the speech bubbles bigger and the text bigger, or cut some text and make the text bigger.

Also, it's because many hosts cannot read or interpret Mandarin Chinese or simplified Chinese. They're worried that some sites could be against their regulations without them knowing it. So it's sort of a security thing. I still think all languages should be accepted; you can't keep someone from being hosted because they don't speak your language. That's horrible discrimination. I think that if foriegn language sites are allowed, they should attempt to provide either a translation of their site or something like that. But that would be sort of hard. I mean, my entire site is in English, but if I wrote in Tamil or something (my mother tongue), it would take a while to translate back and forth.

That's sort of stereotyping...not all Chinese/Indians/Turkish fall into those categories. Maybe only people you know. I'm Indian and I guess I'm one of your statistics, but still, it's not definite at all.
-
I as well think it's very disrespectful. I mean, would you want your gender preference to be so publicized and used as a slang word in such ways? I seriously wish that society today could, as one among you said, find a thesaurus. Imagine if people went around calling other people simpletons like in the old days. That would be pretty weird...

Mozilla Firefox is Best????? I have liked what about you?
biscuitrat replied to solankyno1's topic in Software
My IE bugged out and died on me so I use Mozilla and I am thrilled that there's such an awesome browser out there. I haven't seen a popup ad in a while and it's so handy! And all the cute little themes really make Mozilla awesome! The tabs are very helpful. I don't have to have three bajillion windows open. Also the "Show only this frame" option. -
I get yelled at by people when I'm too critical...and I tend to be. But I'll allow you to be as critical with me as you want. I must warn you. I'm a spelling nazi and a lover of fine graphic design work. Let the review begin. Well, I'll start with your comic because that's what I saw first. Your dinosaur thing's expressions are pretty funny, but it's easy to get lost. You might want to try a page-by-page display. Second, if you have an image editing software (Photoshop, Fireworks, PSP), you should probably enhance it in there. The pencil isn't very clear in some areas. I should add that Mandarin is the correct spelling. But kudos. It's a good start. Second, your site's flash entry has some cute little creatures, but you can hardly read the text on the speech bubbles. The backgrounds don't match and you might want to work on your nav. menu. Good work so far. Your HTML entry page (the splash page) is a little clogged with all those advertisements and things. You might want to consider a seperate page for those. The actual HTML page has some mismatched colors and you would probably do better with a solid color background on your news table than the image, since the image doesn't extend. I would rate it about...a 6.5/10. You have talent, definitely, but you're having a little trouble expressing it.
