If You Read Anyone's Blog whose blog would you read?
Zythrix replied to cops's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I'm not really so concerned about what goes on in the lives of celebrities. If I could read absolutely ANYONE'S blog I would read my friend Kari's. I haven't heard from her in wayyy too long and she was my first love =P I would really like to know what's going on in her life right now. -
I'm going to see if I can get ahold of some ISOs of my friend's Linux distro he wrote.. it's called Janus. It's geared toward extreme network security and wireless. It's got some monster encryptions =) But ya, if he gets me an ISO and gives me permission I'll figure out a way to get the ISO online (torrents or something) for folk to download if their interested.

Ok, thanks again! I have most of the power cables wrapped in this plastic sheathing stuff.. and the round-wrapped IDE cables.. but it could definitely use some organizing. I'll probably go with Antec.. though I have to wonder if Sparkle is better considering when I bought my Antec case 5 yrs ago it had a Sparkle power supply in it. I'd imagine Antec would use their own... unless Sparkle is an off-shoot of Antec. Either way.. I'll look into it. Thanks for your help!

Welcome to Xisto! Enjoy your stay here! If you have any questions there is a good chance there is already an answer to be found on these forums. Your best bet is to search before you make any new posts. There is also a friendly team of Moderators here to help you if you need it. Please PM one of them instead of an Administrator as they are very busy guys =)Also, don't be discouraged by the language barrier. You may not have very good English but that's still better than me! English is the ONLY language I know. =)

Thank you. I'll pull it out later and take a peek at it (too much hassle right now.. you should see the wiring job inside the case heh). If it is just the power supply, I'm going to make sure and get a good one this time. No more messin around =/ .. What's decent these days.. 450-500watt ? Also, what brand power supply would you recommend? I've heard Sparkle, Antec and Thermaltake.Once again, thanks!

So, I'm sitting on my computer about a half hour ago when it decides to randomly shut off. So, being as hot as it was in my computer room, I figured it just got too warm and shut itself off. Then I start to smell burnt silicon. Anybody who has ever owned a computer and knows what that smell is, dreads it. So I go into my roommate's room and he says to just let it sit and ventilate the room. So I opened a window and took the side of the case off and left the room for 45 mins to go clean the garage. By the time I came back everything inside the case was cool (enough) to the touch. So I hit the power button.. nothing. Checked the surge protector, still on. So I start questioning my hardware. My guess is that I blew out my power supply.I have a 300 watt power supply. Connected to that power supply I have a P4 motherboard, 2 HDs, 1 DVD burner, 4 fans, a cold cathode bar-light and some extra USB ports I mounted to the front a couple days ago. It seems to me that that's entirely too much for the power supply, especially considering the P4 boards take more power (2 power plugs to the motherboard instead of just 1). So, the scenario of a burnt up power supply is entirely feasable.I do hope it's only the power supply. Though I don't have the money to replace even that, I'd still much rather replace the power supply than something more expensive. If anyone has any other ideas as to what it might be, I'm open for anything. Also, if you know a good place to find good power supplies for cheap I'm also interested.Hehe I'll take donations of money or power supplies too!! =P

Welcome to Xisto! I'm sure you'll enjoy the community as well as the hosting if you receive it. I recommend checking out The Vent .. there is almost always something interesting to read about in there!

Though, I do have some issues like.. I only have a 300watt power supply. Having that hooked up to 2 hard drives and a DVD burner causes some issues. Ummm I don't have enough cooling so I get overheating errors sometimes. Ya.. my system needs a bit of work but it's not TOO bad right now!! =)

I Got This Problem With My Girl I need a good advice
Zythrix replied to Rufus's topic in Dating And Relationships
A: If the person is really your friend at all he wouldn't get so upset.. especially if he has no chance with her.B: If he's not like a best-friend.. then friends come and go.. the right girl only comes along once. If he really wants to stop being your friend over it, let him.I've had to deal with the same drama in my social circles. It gets quite ridiculous. But I just point out to people how silly they are acting over 1 girl/boy and remind them how many more there are out there and they shouldn't be fighting over a person. -
I can beat anybody at Rock/Paper/Scissors even not knowing 'how they play'. I've done it enough times to figure out the average patterns and to generally know what someone is gonna play at any given time. Also, with tic-tac-toe, there is a guaranteed way to win as well (well, you'll either win or it'll be a tie game). Most people know the move-set now though so the game has lost it's appeal.Let me re-phrase.. I don't want to come across like I never lose..; I do.. but I can calculate the odds and put them far more into my favor =)

Ya it is really best. I don't so much follow tutorials as use them for ideas. Sometimes I just need somethin to get the creative gears goin.. and I'll see an effect or somethin on the website and work from there.I dunno.. it helps me =)

Saint-michael Vs Avalon Battle of the Wolverines
Zythrix replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I don't know if there is some protocol but I will vote anyway. Love the coloring. Everything flows together quite nicely. The image even looks like it was 'slashed-up' by Wolverine. It has all the required components and it just looks great. --- Well, it took me a while to even find the Wolverine. I'm having some trouble discerning what the rest of the picture is... but it just looks like a screenshot of a game or something with a few effects thrown in. The text looks out of place in the image. My vote's going to have to go to Avalon on this one. Good job the both of you! Saint Michael, I'm not going to tell you to try harder because I know you can do better =P . -

I always throw scissors first. People RARELY throw rock first (because when you're setting to throw you're making the rock shape already) and out of paper and scissors I pick scissors because if the other person picks scissors or paper you're still fine. Also, it usually works if on the second throw.. you do whatever would have beat your first throw. So if you throw scissors the first time, throw rock. There is actually quite a bit of strategy to Rock/Paper/Scissors and I've only let you in on a little bit. Everybody I play it with thinks it's random, so I usually win =P I can read pretty well what people are gonna throw based on odds and what was thrown previously. I can't discard the luck factor completely, but based on how often I win I have to assume that my strategies work =). There is a strategy to EVERY game =)

Looks real good! The border throws me off a little and the reflection of "KUBI" would maybe look better blurred a little or made more transparent.. or maybe both? I dunno.. just my 2 cents. Keep up the good stuff!

Abortion : For Or Against Abortion? Share ur views on ABORTION?
Zythrix replied to Milk's topic in General Discussion
A: If it's not your body or your fetus.. then it's not your business what's done with it. B: Your beliefs are your beliefs and shouldn't be forced on someone else. It's only your job to follow through on your own beliefs.. not make sure everyone else follows through on your beliefs. C: Anybody who says "It isn't right.. just put it up for adoption" has never had to do such a thing. It's harder than that. It's not just "Oh well I dont want it but I'm just gonna carry it for 9 months and give it away." .. you form attachments that can be mentally damaging to break. D: I know people say "If you aren't responsible enough to raise a child you shouldn't be having sex". That's absolute crap =/. Sexuall intercourse and reproduction are basic functions of life. Both for pleasure and carrying on a family. I'm sure most of the people that have abortions aren't just running around having sex at random just so they can get a baby and kill it. It's usually from accidents like condoms breaking or birth control not working. I think that makes them resposible enough. E: Often abortion can be better for the child than the life it could possibly have with some parents. For instance, would you suggest a child be put up for adoption if it has to be borne by a young crackhead girl living on the streets? It would come out disabled and never really have a full life. That to me is torture. F: This whole "it's still a life even though it's a fetus" thing is ridiculous. By that reasoning, a sperm is still a life and shouldn't be killed. Do you realize how many innocent babies are killed every minute because the one stronger sperm made it to the egg first?!?!? Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of babies killed during masturbation. Think those claims are ridiculous? Not any moreso than a fetus being a life. The way I see it, it doesn't matter what my opinion is on the issue of abortion. I'm a male and it is only up to the woman in the situation to make the decision and nobody... !!!NOBODY!!! should think less of her for it. If my views offend you enough to make you angry with me, please PM your thoughts to me rather than posting them here on this thread and wasting other members' time. I have already stated my piece and won't be checking back on it. -
haha Ya it's a little late pal. Anyway, it's good to hear that you got into the whole photoshop/webdev scene. It's fun stuff. I've been doing it for about a year and a half now (ACTUALLY like 4 yrs but I didn't start getting good until a year or so ago) and I enjoy it quite a lot. A site you absolutely MUST check out is http://www.good-tutorials.com/ . It's full of, yep you guessed it, good tutorials. That website and my roommate is what I've been learning from. If you have some questions I can probably help, but keep in mind that I'm still learning too and I dont know everything! heh

What Is A Dns? How I Can Change It? can someone help me
Zythrix replied to final_fantasy's topic in Web Hosting Support
If you're trying to change your DNS you will need to login to whatever site you registered your domain name at and change it there. You should see an option somewhere to change your DNS or Nameservers. -
Dell Or Hp ? Which is the best computer brand you prefer ?
Zythrix replied to Inspiron's topic in General Discussion
If you absolutely must use a branded pre-built PC I would suggest a Lenovo PC. Lenovo purchased IBM's PC dept and, in conjunction with their own technology, are making good computers at good prices. Honestly though, I'd rather build my own =) -
The banner looks quite good. I'm in 1280x1024 (with a CHEAP monitor) and I can read it just fine (although I've wondered if somehow I have implants in my eyes to make me see better heh). Keep up the good work! hehe you've made me decide to install Photoshop again, I've been putting it off due to laziness.

Wassie Less Active you probably allready notticed :P
Zythrix replied to wassie's topic in General Discussion
Not that my doing so is of any consequence to these forums, but I was inactive as well for a while. I had originally joined here to get webhosting for an Ultima Online server. I didn't really care much about the community, I just wanted the hosting. So, I made my posts and got my hosting. I had the hosting for a little while but I ended up leaving the Ultima Online server for personal reasons. So, I decided I didn't need the hosting anymore and cancelled the account. After that I just kind of stopped caring about the forums altogether. Then the other day I got bored and I started posting again. I messaged an Admin for a name change (on direction from a moderator heh I didnt message the admin first =P ) and I received that quite quickly. In just the last two days I've realized how much I actually enjoy the community (and not just the hosting). So I'm going to apply for hosting again but to prove that I'm still here for the community, and not just for the free hosting, I'm going to wait until I have 100 pts before I apply. I've actually starting making "posts" instead of just a bunch of words collected together that are necessary to get points. I plan to stick around here for quite some time now. -
Ha! Then you don't realize the full value of a magazine! heheYou'd be amazed at what you can find in one when you "READ" it instead of just 'reading' it...
-
As I said, it doesn't need to have lists of facts about women.. just seeing the kinds of things they're interested in reading tells us more than we knew previously. heh we need everything we can get!

Yes, but that's not really a good thing in the bigger picture. Call centers and outsourcers come and go. Consider this scenario: A fairly profitable company in a foreign country is doing good. The pay is good for that part of the world. But then an American outsource company comes in to do some outsourcing for some random company. They pay their employees 10-25% more than the other company so they take a lot of the other company's employees. Then after there is no longer a need for the outsourcer, they pack up their temporary call center and head back for the states. Leaving a once-profitable company possibly crippled and many people out of a job but with a little bit more cash in their pocket. Now, I'm not saying this happens everytime or anything. But, having worked with several outsourcers, I know the risks and how often it can happen. I guess paying your employees too much CAN be a problem... even if they're still paying them less than in the states.

They have their line of already developed ThinkPad notebooks and ThinkCentre desktops, but you can be 100% sure they will start making them a little differently. They have their own technology and ideas to work with as well as IBM's now. So, most of the current and older models are still essentially IBM desktops and notebooks.. but they've already begun making different systems.
