#1. -The coloring is decent -The text has too much of a bevel on it.. try flattening it down a little bit by lowering the 'Depth' and 'Size' of the bevel. -The text could use some outer-glow effects perhaps to try to bring it together more with the background.. -The duplicate of the head with the transparency could use some other effects on it to make it look more like background and less like just a translucent duplicate. -Perhaps a border around the image itself to kind of seal it off.. gives it a more finished look. #2. -I like the background quite a bit more on this one.. but the blue and blue/white lines and flares would probably look better in a brighter red to bring it into the background.. the blue contrasts with the red and it makes it look wierd. -The renders are both done quite nicely.. the lighting and shading are just right and the color is good. -I like how the text is pulled into the background on this one.. perhaps it would be better with some glow or something just for a LITTLE bit more definition.. otherwise it's fine. _____________________________ Great job on both of the images man! I used to be a Paint Shop Pro junkie.. I despised Photoshop. Then I learned to work with the devil and it became my best friend in graphic design. All it takes is a lil time playing with the program and helpful input from those more knowledgable (whether it be first-hand lessons, tips or a tutorial). You can check resources such as good-tutorials.com .. I'm far from the best at Photoshop but I still have a lot of fun seeing what I can do.Let's see some new submissions soon man!

Alright buddy! Welcome to GFX. I'll critique it if you like.-The edge around the person is kind of rough.. it could be cropped cleaner or have some matching inner/outer glow applied to it to clean the edge a bit..-The text is a little flat.. try textures.. slight bevel effects etc.-The 4 objects (background, text, person, cup) dont fit together. It just looks like you came up with a simple background and pasted the 2 items and dropped some text on [which is likely what you did, but this is a learning process!]. Try to have all the items roll together a bit more.. that's the best I can explain that at the moment =/-Though it is a matter of personal preference, I have to say I don't like the vertical signature. It looks pinched and it stretches the page farther.-Also, if a render you are using has lighting on it already (the light on the left side of the person) either remove the lighting from them or try to make the rest of the lighting on the page match it.. give other objects appopriate shadowing etc.There's my 2 cents man! Keep it up! In no time at all you'll be passin me up! hehe.

Honestly.. there's 1 or 2 that come over all the time that I really don't mind.. been friends for yrs.. but some of these people I dont even effin' know =/---EDIT---So, I'm down in the garage hangin out with one of the roommates.. and she tells me that the band told her she wasn't allowed in the garage while they were practicing.. time to put a stop to this tonight.. downing some beer to warm up my silver tongue =) This is the fun part..

For the last month there has been a steady stream of people coming and going in my townhouse. People just coming for a couple minutes and leaving.. people staying all day.. people staying the night.. and people who just show up and crash for a couple nights and never really leave. This is a 2 bedroom townhouse with a den and there are 5-6 ppl living here with an average of 3-4 ppl crashing overnight. It's mostly due to the fact that ONE of the people who lives here is in a band. It started with the band just practicing here once in a while.. that was ok. Then it got worse when they started bringing big loud amps, drum sets and 3-4 extra people per band member over. Now, they call it "the band house". Really, it's NOT the effin' band's house. Only one member of the band lives here and he doesn't even have a job. This is a home for what should only be 4 people. A HOME!!People walk in without knocking.. someone came in today WITH A HOUSE KEY and I didn't even know him!! I promptly took the key away and kicked him out. I've tried to be nice to these people. I wanted to let them have a cool place to hang out and practice music but now I'm being taken advantage of. So, it's time to start cracking down on people.From now on, nobody stays more than 1 night in a row without paying $20-$50 (based on whether I like the person or not) per night and nobody that isn't a tenant stays for more than 4 days in a row. No loud music when THE WORKING MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD need to sleep. Nobody getting into my fridge and eating my food, especially when I DONT EVEN KNOW THE PERSON! I'm so tired of it.. =/

You can get 3 hosting credits easily in 1 post. Post 2-3 times a day if that's all the time you have. You dont need to start a new thread for everything you want to post about. Join other discussions. It doesn't take an hour of your time to get enough credits for 3-5 days.

There's the normal pain/suffering. Hospital bills. Cleaning bills. Etc etc. I'm going to make sure it gets all taken care of. Their dad is lazy and their mom wouldn't know where to start. She's a hospital volunteer not a lawyer.. so I'm gonna help em.

I'm going to strongly suggest a lawsuit to the parents. The McDonalds corporation has plenty of money, they will want to settle out of court. I'll give them my mom's lawyer and get them a good sum. That's only because I'm pissed off at McDonalds, I don't get anything out of it other than my new-found little sister being ok.

I'm not sure what caused it yet. You can guarantee we'll be getting in contact with McDonalds soon. I'll do it myself if I have to =/And I did start mixing up rum-n-cokes .. on #3 right now with a beer between each.As a rule I eat only fries and the occasional McChicken from McDonalds. I've hated their food for years =/ I like Wendy's or Burger King or Jack in the Box.

Well, I wake up this morning around 10 to my girlfriend talking on the phone to her mother. I heard her say "Why is Whitney in the E.R.?" (Whitney is the gf's little sister) and shot straight up out of bed completely awake. Now, growing up I had no sisters. All I had was an older brother. So I never really had to have to worry about a younger sibling. But this morning, I was worried as hell. It amazed me.. this girl that I just pick on and usually never thought much about beyond her being my gf's little sister is all of a sudden in trouble and I'm scared. After the initial worry diminished, it felt quite good. I believe I now know what it's like to have a little sister that you care for. I sat by her bed for about 2 hours this morning petting her hair while she was passed out on morphine. Luckily though it wasn't as bad as I thought. She got food poisoning from McDonalds (her and one of her brothers) and started vomiting/urinating/excrementing blood. Her mother said her bathroom looked like a crime scene. She's ok now.. just sleeping it off for a couple days in the hospital (she's small and has a weak body so they kept her for a couple days).. but I am exhausted. Worry is a tiring thing. =/ I expect in the future I will see her quite differently now.Anyway, that's my vent. I'm going to go have a beer and relax until it's my turn to visit again tonight. I had lots of that.. the slowing down of devices and such. But ya, any electrical device can burn up from over-use. I abused the power supply badly.

Ya, I bought the case and power supply 5 yrs ago .. then I gave them away to my friend for 2 years and he gave them back to me later (the case is a nice Antec case). By that point the power supply was pretty worn. But I didn't think to get a new one (I'm not the brightest crayon in the box sometimes) so I just worked with it. It's lasted about 8 months since I got it back though. I'll get one soon enough though.

It wasn't a matter of having too many things plugged into my wall outlets.. I have far more than all of that. Rather it was a matter of too many things being plugged into the power supply inside my computer. It was an old power supply when I got it and it just wasn't big enough.

I've narrowed to the power supply long ago.. the issue is now buying one =)That'll have to wait a couple more days but I'm getting at least a 450w.I checked everything else.. only thing I havent been able to do is put a new power supply on it to make sure nothing else is messed.What are the odds of shorting a board when you pop a PSU?

Working with subdomains is not likely. 90% of places that offer webmail either offer services for your own domain or for THEIR subdomain. It'd be kind of hard to set it up for other subdomains since you dont get any control of the MX settings with a subdomain acct.

Broken PC - Day Two::Well, I thought I'd be ok without my computer, but I miss it! LoLI've been walking around my townhouse trying to find something to do. First I stop at the television.. flip through all the channels.. and walk away unsatisfied. Then I picked up a book and started to read that.. but it just didn't have a mouse attached to it. So I started cleaning the house.. that was obviously no more fun than watching paint dry so I tried to find something else to do.About an hour of going crazy with boredom later my friend wakes up. So I immediately ask him to use his laptop (which I've been on for the last 3 hours now). But now that I'm on it.. I'm STILL bored. It doesn't have all the software or games that I had on my PC. I'm stuck using java IM and IRC clients. I think using this laptop may have been worse than not using a computer at all lol. It's just teasing me.Anyway, the search for a powersupply continues. I can probably buy one this weekend but I dont want to wait that long heh.OH CRUEL WORLD BRING MY COMPUTER BACK TO ME! heh... I swear I'm not addicted =P

I'm guessing it's one of those situations where you're the nicer of the two people and you don't want to be mean and say 'no' but you're tired of saying 'yes'. I've been there before.. many many times. When I finally started saying 'no' I ended up with about 2 friends heh. All the rest of them just went and found someone else they could leech off of. Now I have no problem saying 'no' and telling people what I think.. and it's given me a new group of friends. Some of them are as painfully honest as I am.. but it makes things interesting sometimes.

Ya.. I plan to get a UPS. I want to keep the cold cathode light.. gives a nice blue glow that serves as my night light in my 'bat cave'. Looks like I'm out of commission for a little bit but I will still come on here when I can get on a diff computer.(note: my 'bat cave' is a large walk-in closet in which I put my computer desk)
