What Makes An Rpg Good? graphics...IGMs...playability..or what?
Zythrix replied to Arin Sky's topic in Computer Gaming
When I play RPGs, things like graphics and the community aren't really a factor for me. I play Ultima Online so obviously I don't mind outdated graphics (I still like my old DOS rpgs). If it's an online rpg then good luck having people actually roleplaying (yes that's right folks, the 'rp' in rpg is ROLE PLAYING). I generally just ignore the online communities. What I really like to see with an RPG is a good full story line and extensive character development. Sure, most RPGs let you get different weapons and such and increase stats, but there is no actual character growth, just some numbers going up. If a character can't become a part of the story line then it just isn't worth the time. -
I've been using Symantec / Lava-Soft / Windows Firewall for the last... year and a half or so with no issues. Seems to work pretty well. Not so sure about the Windows Firewall.. I'll probably get ZoneAlarm again (though the program bugs me).

The Nes Reincarnated NES remake with newer hardware.
Zythrix replied to Zythrix's topic in Computer Gaming
I don't think the younger generation of gamers would full appreciate that console. I'd have a blast playing all my old NES games again.. but kids nowadays... it'd just be too slow for them. There's 12 yr olds playing games on cell phones with better graphics than an NES.. I don't think they could revert back. But to be able to play my old games without having to try one of the various NES boot-up methods (double-stack the games.. blow inside of it.. pop the game up and down.. etc etc) would be quite nice =). I'll probably definitely get one. -
I remember the worst teacher I had. Mrs Chun. She was a short Asian lady and she was mean. She used to grab kids real hard by the shoulders and slam them up against lockers and such. We got her fired, my brother and I, when she left finger bruises on my shoulder.I used to think my 7th grade science teacher was the devil. He was always so short and snappy with us. One day the students took his glasses from him when he walked in the room. He couldn't hardly see. He stumbled to his desk and went to sit down and find his spare glasses but they took his chair too. So he fell down and hurt himself (he was a little old guy) and the stuffed him in the classroom closet and locked him in there until he cried. Now, being the angsty little 7th grader I was, I thought it was cool at the time. Then a couple months later on winter break, I was riding my bicycle around town when this group of kids attacked me. And who should come to my defense and drive them away? My 7th grade science teacher. He invited me to have lunch with him and his daughter and grandchild.Boy did I feel small after that.Anyway, I'm glad I grew out of that phase.

I haven't had to deal with viruses very much in the last couple of years. I've been pretty good about keeping my computer clean. I remember a while back though. My friend had brought me over this CD with a Linux distro called Knoppix (boots/runs completely from a CD) on it. He said to use it incase I ever got a virus and I needed to restore data from a secure environment. So I put it aside thinking I won't need it. Then a week or so down the road.. I get a virus. I clean it. But it's still there! It's started infecting all of my .exe, .zip and .mp3 files! So, I pop Knoppix in the drive.. (I think this is where I should mention that I know absolutely NOTHING about Linux heh) reboot.. boot to linux.. and stare at the screen. So, then about 10 minutes later I'm formatting my hard-drive and reinstalling windows.Sucks to get infected =/Wear your e-rubbers!

Quite often today I keep getting errors when trying to load pages of my website. It's not completely down... there just seems to be an awful lot of hiccups. Not sure if this is an issue with you guys or a connection between me and the server. Just thought I'd let you know.

Hosting Unsuspend Request one thread to resolve your suspension
Zythrix replied to elevenmil's topic in Web Hosting Support
My account was suspended but the website was still up and functional. I brought myself back up to a positive credit balance and now it's not working .. hehe kind of backward. Anyway, thanks.EDIT:: It's up now! -
Even though they may not be very practical, they work. I can imagine getting good use out of them. Girlfriend is watching Better Homes and Gardens or some such.. and she wants to you sit with her.. so you just pop on your glasses hehe. I would hope that automobile accidents wouldn't be an issue as there should be nobody stupid enough to drive and wear these glasses at the same time. Anybody who decides that's a good idea.. deserves what they get heh.

Yes! There is an edit button. That makes things a bit better. Overall, the upgrades look good and they load quick and smooth. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough credits stored up hehe.. but no worries. The forum is back and now so am I!

Here are the labels I use:-PeopleThere. That pretty much covers everybody. There's no trying to figure out who belongs to what group. Everyone belongs in the same group. People. I remember in high school there would always be clusters of people.. the 'goths' the 'jocks' the 'preppies' etc. I never really had a certain group.. I hung out with people from EVERY group. Why everyone else can't figure that out.. I don't know. I just dont understand the point behind making everybody choose a label.

I've had the same Hotmail account since I was 15 (6 1/2 yrs). I've seen many of it's different design phases. Honestly, I've never liked it. The only reason I have a hotmail account still is because I use it for MSN Messenger. Otherwise I use my gmail or my pop e-mail accounts. Hotmail is just as buggy as every other Microsoft product.

Im Locked Out Of Windows Xp? I own the computer and im locked out
Zythrix replied to illdevilinc's topic in Software
I'd just say 'screw it' and install XP Pro. I've never seen a system run well with XP Home.. it's just inferior. Something about a dumbed-down version of an already dumbed-down operating system that just bugs me. -
I've never had a problem keeping a hold of a PSP. Durability hasn't been an issue. Anytime I use one, I'm always cleaning fingerprints off of it and such. Heh.. they're too nice to drop!

Honestly, they weren't trying to make it like Underground. They wanted to bring back the old school Need for Speed : Hot Pursuit.. modernize it.. and give you more car customization. This game is based on the police chases. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Woman's Arms And Legs Amputated hospital wont say why.
Zythrix replied to beeseven's topic in General Discussion
It isn't a hoax. It was on the news here in Oregon as well. Man, that's messed up. -
heh I wouldn't expect you to lie. It's just that you may not necessarily have all the facts sometimes, ya know? But, if you say it's legal, I believe you!

Very much so. I don't disagree that money is a necessity.. I just dont like it heh. If we got rid of money, we would be reverting ourselves to before the industrial revolution.. and I'm sorry.. I like my electronics. As for the generic foods and stuff.. only rarely will I take a popular name brand over a generic brand (some of them just taste better).. but for the most part.. I shop as cheap as possible. I grew up fairly poor so I learned the value of a dollar a bit better than the average child. See, you've got it right. Rent.. lease.. too expensive to own.

Zythrix replied to beeseven's topic in General Discussion
Well, I looked all around and, unfortunately, I've found nothing to call it a hoax. Things like this make me glad I tend to not leave my state. Oregon is a good place heh. -
Very well put! I despise money 100%. But I am quite fond of some of the things you acquire with it. My electronics, comfortable clothing, etc. I just wish the money wasn't necessary for that kind of stuff, ya know? I dunno, maybe if I'm ever not broke, I may look at money differently, but I sure hope not.

It's semi-cartoonish at best. It's just a quick way. I know there's a few better ways but I can't remember them offhand. Good-tutorials.com has several though.

Yes.. details would be good. I'm sure I'm the farthest from on your list of people (heh, considering I joined today), but I'm interested nonetheless. -

That worked pretty well! If done right, you should have gotten a fairly cartoon-ish picture. Here's a before and after of a rapper friend of mine. Pretty neat man!

Donate Idle Cpu Time To Google For Research donate without spending a cent
Zythrix replied to vblk's topic in Search Engines
That reminds of the SETI program.. used your idle processor time to help SETI with their research. I'll check this out once my computer is functioning properly (have some issues with it crashing under med-high processor usage.. probably a cooling issue).
