  1. Does this rule out beginners just because they don't use Photoshop?

    Hello

Hi Audentia, from one of the elders on the forum. Sounds like you know your stuff. You will be a good addition to the forum with your knowledge. I have been here since January and found lots of help with my site. I like football, Go 49ers! I also like Nascar Nextel Cup racing, Go Jeff! I would say this is the best ad free web hosting available. Reliability is my main concern, and I have found it here.
  3. Would rather be saying hello than goodbye. You are right about Trap 17 being a good host. Sorry you found it so hard to keep up posting. I thought it would be more of burden than I have found it to be after a little over 2 months now. Then, I am retired, so I don't have a lot of other necessary things to do getting in the way. Only my travel time seems to interfer.

    Hi There!|

Hi martino. Unfortunately I cannot answer you either, but HI anyway. Hope you enjoy your time here at Trap 17. Everybody is responsive and helpful, so it won't be long before you get an answer from somebody who is in the know. Enjoy your visit, and if you decide to get hosted here, it is a very reliable site.
  5. Welcome garbage. What a choice of handles. You will love it here at Trap 17. I have only been here since January and have met lots of people. Found out lots of information. And learned lots of new stuff. Yeh, go with Albus' suggestion on the waiting to get enough points for the second package. But apply as soon as you have just a little over the points needed, because your points will be reset to a lower amount when you get hosted. You can read up on this somewhere on here, but I have lost track of where. Run a search, maybe you can find it.
  6. You are welcome ZPGames. I ran into a similar problem when I first set up my site. We had a long thread about it some time ago.
  7. I don't swim much these days, even tho I live a block up from the Lake Michigan shore. In High School I swam with a sychronized swimming team until my senior year when we got transfered to a new school and there was no pool. To learn to swim, I used to ride my bike 2 miles to the pool, take a lesson and ride back the 2 miles. This went on every weekday for 2 weeks. I passed the life saving test, hurray. I doubt if I could do that anymore, tho. My husband doesn't swim. I tried to teach him, but he sinks like a rock. Had to give up before I drowned him.

    Heloo...again

Welcome back. Hope to see your hosted url up real soon. I have enjoyed myself getting to know more people all the time has been a benefit to having my site hosted here. Everybody is so helpful. Even when you're an elder (agewise NovaTerra). This forum is proving that age doesn't really matter and is only a number.
  9. Albus gets my vote because I understand the technique he is using better than the other sig. I am not into a lot of tech stuff. His theme is clearly defined and quite colorful. I really do not get the theme of the other sig. Duh? I don't know who voted for St.Michael, the vote was there when I jumped in.
  10. HAPPY EASTER! Our little family is getting together for an Easter Brunch. French toast with all the fixings and fruits gallore. We will probably follow up with a day of visiting and watching the Speed channel. Hope everybody enjoys a peaceful day and remembers the reason for the celebration.
  11. By some chance have you activated your "hotlink protection"? If you did using the old site name, then you need to change the name in Urls to Allow Access box:
  12. Someone posted on here that the way to NOT become a moderator is to ask about it. Hi, John Foreman. Welcome to the forum from one of the elders. I am a music fan also. I like every kind of music except Blue Grass and Rap (If you call rap music). I see you are already hosted. What is your url? I'd like to take a look.
  13. Yet another desktop wallpaper for your use. I have run a new one up today 04/08/2006 that is a colorful kind of abstract mountain scene.
  14. Well, vigilanty (street) justice isn't the answer. Putting yourself in danger by baiting this person isn't either. It is the police's job to see that he doesn't hurt someone else, not yours. You are doing everything you can to contribute to this already. "What every happened to the principle of fight for what you believe in": if you do something about it yourself, he is going to go after your girlfriend. This is his mentality; preying on the people that he perceives as the weakest. Besides he will probably figure out that hurting her is going to hurt you more. Take your mother's advice, son.

    Hi Hi

Hi, ataylor! from one of the elders on Trap 17. You will come to know many nice and helpful people on this forum. When you get hosted, it you need any help, just ask. Someone, probably many, will do their best to assist you. I have only been hosted since January and lots of people have come to my rescue several times already. Good Luck on constructing your web site.
  16. You have lofty pruposes at that. I would wish everybody had your intent. I will try to make sure I live up to them as well. And I will add one more for myself as an elder on here:-To share the wisdom I have gathered from my lifelong experiences Thanks for the post. We all needed someone to guide the way to a better forum. And I agree with Albus, you are not typical by today's standards.
  17. I am going to be redudant and say that I experienced the same conclusion as jlhaslip about the same distance through your post. Man, you need to move. My heart goes out to you both, but especially to your girlfriend. Yes, I understand your principle about it being your home and he is the criminal, but you are risking lives here. You are stuck on the track and the train is coming. As for the police, I can relate somewhat to their situation. I used to be married to one and my step-brother is one, also. With all the laws we have today, their hands are tied too much of the time. It is a sad situation for you, but I don't think there is a better solution than moving. Which doesn't say much for the state of our country.
  18. Welcome BBT from one of the elders on this forum. I am not as savy as all you others about tech art and Photoshop, but I can hold my own in Paint Shop Pro. Looks as if you will be a fine addition to the graphix forum. You will come to know a great variety of people on here. All seem to be very helpful, as I have needed lots of help and everybody has been willing to come to my rescue. GdDay!
  19. So then, my link is not taking anybody outside the Xisto Corp site. And since links in the postings are always seem to be target="new" links (open into a new window), they aren't even taking anybody away from forum.
  20. Easy for you to say. But, whoa there. There are expenses involved with changing numbers in the US. One even has to pay here to have an unlisted number. We here in Mich pay all sorts of access fees and taxex imposed by the state of Michigan as well. Then there is the fact that this has been our number for 35+ years. It would not be an easy thing for us in our retiring years to have to get in touch with so many friends, relatives, business people and etc. about changing their contact with us. Then there is no guarantee that the new number would not be a bigger problem than the one we have. As someone on here said, the phone company has on their available list a lot of numbers from deadhead users. We certainly don't want to trade our monthly wrong number call for a number that might generate 10 times as many wrong numbers.
  21. Well I downloaded Smart FTP last night and installed it. Now I have to tackle learning how to use it. I have been using WS_ftp which is a very simple program. Smart FTP looks a little more complicated. I guess I will find lots of use for the Help file. Thanks for the imput.
  22. Lost track of this thread for a while, but now that I have found it again, I took a look at your site. What an improvement!!!!! How did you get so savy so quickly? The only thing I can comment on, other than to say, "Good Job", is the extra empty space at the bottom each page. Might I suggest that you use some of that space to repeat your menu from above. When one gets to the bottom of each page, one has to scroll all the way back up to the top to navigate the site. Placing a copy of the menu at the bottom would make navigation much easier. Then try to get rid of the blank area below that. And again, congratulations on designing such nice site. P.S. Personally, I cannot see the difference between the so-called amateur artists and the professionals.
  23. You mean like pull the program up twice opening one to one server and the other copy to the second server, then drag and drop files from on copy to the other? Sounds not so complicated if this is how it is done.
  24. Forgot to ask in my previous reply. If you upload your files to the www folder are they mirrored in the public_html folder in the same manner? Yeh, and I just spent 3 1/2 hours downloading it on my 56K modem. My husband was not a happy camper, but I did manage to get it done even though he accidently picked up the phone at one point. As jlhaslip says, some of us are restricted to this archaic method. I am in a rather remote area of northern lower Michigan in the middle of a National Forest. As well as the 56K modem, we are also on a pulse phone system. I use WS_FTP, but this method is way beyond my comprehension anyway. I guess I will have to stick with what I know I can do at this point. Thanks for the input, tho.
  25. I think I may have found my problem. I had a backup file stored on site. Removing this put me back at 69.54, which is closer to the 65 that I have uploaded. If I make another backup, where do I store the silly thing? Download it to my puter?
