  1. If you really must discuss such subjects I guess I would vote the worst way to die is to be eaten alive by a grizzly bear, like it happened to that poor chap in Alaska. Just consider how a grizzly usually eats it's prey without rendering it dead first. Ugh, it must really be horrid. On the other hand, I would rather talk about the best way to live, instead. Share your thoughts on this subject as well. We were put on this earth for a purpose. Helping your fellow humans would be an honorable way to survive. Dying is something we should not dwell on. Living is.
  2. My favorite food is Oysters. If I had to order a last supper it would be: Pan-fried breaded oysters spinach soufle' sweet potatoes and for dessert double fudge brownie topped with ice cream There isn't many a food I don't like, however, raw fish is one. I like all ethnic recipes from Italian to Cantonese and everything in between. Maybe that is why I am overweight. Or is it that I am just to short? I love all sorts of seafood, having been born in California, USA, so near all the lovely restaurants in San Francisco and Monterey. Crab salad is a real favorite and abalone is another. Well I could go on, but I have made myself hungry. TaTa for now.
  3. I have seen it twice. The Blonde is a dits. Spoiled rotten and doesn't appreciate anyone or anything. A real tragedy if you ask me. She is sooooooooooooooooo shallow. Now the woodsy gal has a grip on what life is all about and what is really important. She appreciates everything and everybody, especially the children. The Blonde's husband is a real *Bleep*, in my oppinion. If I had to live with one of the families, I would pick the woodsy group in a blink. I think at the end of the session, the Blonde may have finally gotten the point, but I don't know how sharp she really is. It may not last long because of how self absorbed she is and has been for all of her life so far. On a scale of 1-10, I give the program a 5. Really boring at times, but the issues of important things in life is something that needs addressing in today's society.
  4. I have run up a new desktop as of today 03/23/06. It is a Cardinal in autumn colors.

    Hello.

Well, hello GodZillaMaN! Welcome to Trap 17 from one of the elders of the forum. As jlhaslip has said, it would be nice if you could add to your introduction so we know just who you are and what you are interested in. Your name does give us a clue, however. If you would like to get hosted here, you will need to say a little more in each post. This is how you earn hosting points. Come back and tell us a little about yourself.
  6. Believe it or not I got an e-mail answer that they are sending the label. I may have won this one. But, of course, that remains to be seen. We are of a single mind here. Got another call today from a telemarketer. It was a young man this time. I asked him the name of the company he represented, if I could find them on the internet, and an 800# I could reach them at. He gave me all I needed to know. Then I told him that our phone# is on the "do not call" list and I was going to report his company for being in violation of this. He had nothing more to say. HA, I guess I told him. Poor guy, he was only the messenger, trying to earn a buck.
  7. Cool, so glad you found Trap 17. Welcome aboard from one of the elder members. It would be nice to know a little more about you, like where you are, what your site theme will be, what your hobbies are, etc. Get back to here and bring us up to date a little.
  8. Hi htdefiant, Avid traditional graphic designer Haven't got a clue as to how to match your 2nd line. Retired Senior Citizen Haven't got a clue about this line either. Another Google Fan and I welcome you to Trap 17. It is a great forum and hosting site. Best I have ever found on the web. My previous host went down last December and I got on here in January. I can relate to your troubles and quandries with other sites. Hurry and get lots of points so you can get hosted.
  9. Well, hello MaineFishing45! Welcome to Trap 17 from one of the elders of the forum. Is that 45 for your age or your birthdate? I am in Michigan, USA. There are a lot of nice helpful people here that you will come to know. I have only been here since January and have learned soooo much. I was hosted at another site until last December when they went down without any warning. Trap 17 came to my rescue and I am still rebuilding my .com. I have found them very reliable and am sure you will make this your permanent hosting home. Stop by and see my site when you get a chance. Just click on the sig below. And don't forget to post your url when you get hosted here so I can come visit yours. Hello Addi, Me thinks you might want to start your own introduction as a New Topic. Go to General Talk, Introductions and click on New Topic in the upper right just above Forum Options. Make up a catchy Title and use a smiley to mark your topic. People will have trouble finding you here buried in MaineFishing45s introduction.
  10. Aha, so I am told. I don't have a lot to say to most of the people on here who are much younger than I, but I try to welcome as many as I can by checking the Introduction forum when I am on-line. Seems my welcome messages get redundant sometimes. I don't know if that is counted against you or not. I certainly hope not. I try very hard to find topics to at least comment on. Thanks for the encouragement. As of March 15, 2006 I have all but about a dozen of my sets on site. Will start working on getting Desktop/Wallpapers added to the site right soon. This has been a more difficult project than I anticipated. Sometime soon I will be done uploading old sets and will have time to make some new ones.
  11. Thanks for the compliment. I am self taught via surfing the net for ideas and studying books from the library. There are lots of sites that offer html tutorials, some listed elsewhere on this site. I have been designing using Paint Shop Pro for over a year now. I just hope people will use them. Seems more people are finding them since I have been hosted by Trap 17 than when I was on my old host location.

    Hello People!

Well, hello Danny! Welcome to Trap 17 from one of the elders of the forum. There are a lot of nice helpful people here that you will come to know. Working on quality and grammar is an admirable trait. Hope you can accomplish that here, there will be plenty of opportunities with all the forum topics available. Yes, this is a great site with much to offer. I have had more inquiries about my graphics since I have been hosted by Trap 17 (since January) than I ever had at my old host site. The traffic here is much greater. Get hosted soon and join the hosted members.
  13. Well, hello AsSaSsIn! Welcome to Trap 17 from one of the elders of the forum. I am in Michigan, USA. There are a lot of nice helpful people here that you will come to know. I am still stuck in Paint Shop Pro and don't know anything about Photo Shop. If I can lay my hands on a copy when I upgrade my puter, maybe people like you can help me with it. It seems, from the gfxs I see on here in sigs that it is a more modern in nature than what I use. But, then, there is always need for my graphics for use by the elder set.

    Hey Everyone!

Well, hello Thomas91! Welcome to Trap 17 from one of the elders of the forum. I am in Michigan, USA. There are a lot of nice helpful people here that you will come to know. I have only been here since January and have learned soooo much. I was hosted at another site until last December when they went down without any warning. Trap 17 came to my rescue and I am still rebuilding my .com. With all the advice I have gotten here, I redid a lot of my graphics, which has taken additional time. Stop by and see my site when you get a chance. Just click on the sig below. And don't forget to post your url when you get hosted here so I can come visit yours.
  15. Update: So on February 24th BMG customer service e-mailed me that they would send me an address label to return the CD I have received that I didn't order. Incidently, there was no phone number for customer service included in their e-mail either. It arrived about March 1st. Guess what. It isn't a postage-paid label. Now, would you expect to have to pay for postage to return something you didn't order in the first place? I don't. So I sent them an email: I am in receipt of the address label you have sent me. However, I take exception to the fact that it is not postage-paid. I did not request an exchange. I requested that you correct an error made by a representative of your organization. I did not order the CD that was shipped to me. Somebody at your BMG Music chose to substitute it for the one I was offered by your telemarketer. This evidently happened when it became known that the one I ordered was not available as a free selection. I do not feel obliged to pay for your mistake. Therefore, I request that you send me a postage-paid label. I am certain that your response will be as prompt to this request as it was to my original inquiry. I await their reply with baited breath

    Hey There!

Hey, William91. That's my husband's name too; without th 91 that is. Welcome aboard. I don't think you have to worry about scam here. Seems pretty solid since I joined in January. Lots of very helpful people. All seem to be trying to bring me into the 21st century with my graphics. Maybe you can add to my gathering of knowledge. This is a good forum to belong to. Yes, let's have fun.

    Hey All

Well, hello RogerUK! Welcome to Trap 17. I am in Michigan, USA. There are a lot of nice helpful people here that you will come to know. I have only been here since January and have learned loads. You are much further advanced than I in all this stuff. I do web page graphics for the old fashioned folk. All this new fangled Flash / PHP / VB / etc. is mind boggling to me. My brain is cluttered with all the basics of html and I don't know if it has room for more. But I will give it the old college try when I get my site completely up, thanks to Trap for hosting my .com Hope you get hosted soon. Good Luck!
  18. I have used Trillian for years now since I have friends on ICQ, Yahoo, and AIM. It has solved the problem I was having with using so much resource with all those programs running. I have had some trouble with compatibility at times, but Cerulean seems to catch up with issues fairly well. I vote for Trillian since you can't compare it to a program that only services one messenger program.
  19. Well, hello Chip! Welcome to Trap 17. I am in Michigan, USA. There are a lot of nice helpful people here that you will come to know. I have only been here since January and have learned loads. Tell us about your website! Where is it? If you post your url we will take a look and see what you are all about. That is the quickest way to get to know newbies. Do you own a domain name? Are you planning on getting hosting here at Trap 17? I was hosted at another site until last December when they went down unannounced. Trap 17 came to my rescue and I am still rebuilding my .com. It has been a long hard haul getting things back up gradually. With all the advice I have gotten here, I redid a lot of my graphics, which has taken additional time. Stop by and see my site when you get a chance. Just click on the sig below. And don't forget to post your url so I can visit yours.
  20. Thank you for the compliment. Not all of my sets are up yet. I am still reworking a lot of them. Since I had to change hosts, I thought I would take the opportunity to improve many of them. The one you like is "Orange Symphonie" ? 2002 CE Barre Arts-System I am reworking another of Mr. Barre's pieces of art called "Spring". It has a similar effect in shades of blue on black. Check back often to see what I have added. Added: "Spring" ? 2002 CE Barre Arts-System
  21. I have run up a new desktop as of today 2/27/2006. It is a Barrel Racing Scene.
  22. I was invited via my guest book to join Sisters With Heart webring. When I went to the site to check it out, I became suspicious. You cannot view whatever is within their site without joining their webring. This is supposed to be a group of "Christian" women. Their rules seem predjudicial. Rules I didn't know that one had to be over 18 to be a Christian. Then I went to their sign-up page and met with be bevy of information requests that I don't feel necessary to join a webring. See what you think. Join Sisters With Heart Webring Why would they need all that private information just to join a webring? What possible kind of emergency could arise that would necessitate their need to contact you via snail mail? Could this be a form of spam? Among other things, they do not have a notice about gathering information, which is what they are doing. That may explain why you have to be 18 to join. What good is information about a minor? But the information they have gathered, if you choose to give it, would provide them with all the information they would need to do most anything illegal if this is their intent. Anyway, their "by invitation only" seems not too Christian to me. I think I will remove this entry in my Guest Book.
  23. Doesn't it just gall you when people are inefficient at their jobs? I received a phone call from a woman at BMG music with a 7 free CD offer about 10 days ago. She wanted me to select a free CD over the phone so she could send it right away. I inquired about the cost of shipping and handling, which she said was $2.00 on this special offer. Hmm, not bad thought I since it was usually around $3.00 or so. I asked what CDs were available to me for free choice and she said name one. I did. She said she would send it to me with my new membership package and that I could order my additional free CDs on line. Catch, I only have to "buy" on additional CD in the next 12 months. OK, I can live with this. So I agreed and we closed the deal. Well, today I received my free CD and membership package. Guess what. She sent me the wrong CD and charged me $2.79 for the S&H. So now I need to contact Customer Service, right? I searched and searched through the whole package of flyers and pamphlets and, guess what else, nowhere to be found is BMG's customer service phone number. So I had to pop on line to find the number. When I got to the site I could not accomplish anything without signing up and into my new account. After about 10 mins of searching, you guessed it, the phone number is not listed at their site either. So then I spent another 5 mins or so trying to figure out how to contact customer service for the reason I needed. I had to e-mail them via an on site e-mail message, not even from my own mailbox. When I check for the correct CD to request a replacement, I find that the CD I requested is "not available as a Free Selection". So, I requested a $2.79 credit and return address label so I won't have to pay to send back the stupid CD they sent me. Grr. There is a spot on my account information page that allows me to cancel my account. But, I am afraid to do that before I return their CD and get credit for the $2.79 S&H. They could treat it as an outstanding balance and dun me to death for the charge. Now, I figure either the woman was lying to me about the CD I requested being available and S&H charge, or just saying what I wanted to hear to get me to sign up, or she was just plain stupid. Or then again, maybe it was me who was stupid enough to believe what she said. How was your day?
  24. I use Bravenet.com counters because they offer options so you can control what is counted; hits, per page hits, original arrivals, return visitors etc. Their reports extensive and let you know where the hits are coming from etc. They offer guest books as well and many other tools. By my estimate, they offer the best site tools available.
  25. Hmm, busy girl. I majored in Math and minored in Business Admin and Music. But that was a long time ago. Never found a career in Math, other than teaching which I didn't do, so I have lost it all. You know if you don't use it you lose it. Made a career with my Business over the years, accounting mostly. Miss playing my flute; that went by the way some years ago as well. I still love to listen to all kinds of music. That will never change. I am not a dedicated reader, so I can't suggest anything right now.You will find a lot of friendly helpful people of all ages here at Trap 17. Welcome aboard. Show off your graphics as soon as you get settled here.
