    Hi a newbie

Hello canner2u and welcome to Trap 17 from Mich, in Michigan, USA. Yes, you have come to the right place for the best free no-ads hosting on the net. I agree that Arkansas is a beautiful state. We have visited there often as my husband was in Fort Smith during his stretch in the Army. He fell in love with the area, so we try to go through Arkansas whenever we can. It is a little out of the way when we travel from Michigan to Florida, tho. The people here at Trap 17 are friendly and helpful. If you should happen to have a question of your own, someone will either answer it or point you to the answer; so don't hesitate to ask. Make sure you don't post a lot of one-liners, they are considered spam. It is not the number of posts you make, but the quality that earns you credits. Just follow the rules and you will be a welcome addition to our Trap family. You can use the links just above my sig to learn all about Trap 17. See you around the boards.
  3. My favorite line is Holland America, because they allow you some freedom over the "gratuities" automatically added to your on-board tab. Most lines just add $10 a day per person and you have no choice but to pay it. Holland America lets you decide whether or not you want to participate in their automated system or wing it on your own, choosing who you tip and how much. Their food is great at both the dining room and the buffet. The buffet is open until midnight and the desserts are fantastic. There is also great entertainment in the show room as well as fun stuff to participate in the lounge. Haven't decided when our next cruise will be, but are thinking about next year, late in season, perhaps combined with a land tour in Alaska. Would love to go to Hawaii, but am a little hesitant about all that open sea between west coast and Hawaii. Maybe we can fly to Hawaii and cruise around the islands.
  4. Anyone who can correctly spell "indubitably" is ok in my book. Sounds like you have had a little bad luck, but it is over now. Go forward with great fortitude and Good Luck! Oh yes, Happy Birthday in 2 more days.

  6. The first thing I would do is cry, of course. Which is what I did when I received a phone call that my father had died. Then I would turn to my surviving family members as a support system. Gathering together all those immediately affected by this death will give everybody the strength to go on. Then I would read the poem Gone From My Sight. This would soften the blow a little. The reality of things will hit you after the funeral. Mourning is the next step. Everybody must go through it at their own pace. Talking about it does help a lot, but you mustn't bore people by obsessing on it. Things do get easier to cope with over time. Prayer helps, if you are inclined.
  7. Here is my entry. Where are all the others? Come on people, don't be shy. You never can tell just how your sig entry will strike people. And, Good Luck to those who give it a try.

    Hello Every One

Thanks for getting back to me. We have traveled down 26 from Smokey Mountains over toward the coast and down to Savannah,GA. That is about as close as we have come to you. Too bad we didn't know you were there, we could have shouted hello as we drove by.
  9. Bump. Entries please. October 13th is closing fast.
  10. I guess dogs running at large are treated the same here (USA) as in your country. They are only trying to survive. People just don't seem to be very tolerant of stray animals, as witnessed by your experience. Most are on the streets because someone neglected to care for them or just dumped them off. We do have a Humane Society here that tries to catch these strays and find them warm loving homes. But, alas, most of the time they are snagged by a local "pound" where they are kept for a few days and then put to sleep if nobody steps forward to adopt them.

  13. I, like Osangar, use Trillian for the same reasons. Most of my contacts are on ICQ tho. I don't pull it up that often tho, as I am usually too busy when on line to chat with people. Like making posts here at Trap 17.
  14. I do feel for you, but unfortunately she will probably always feel towards you the same. I had a similar relationship with my close (brother) friend back in college. We remained friends even after we were both married to others. To this day I still feel the same way about him. Once you have established the sibling relationship in your mind, it seldom changes to something more intimate. And, I have known some people that thought that their feelings had changed, married and it never worked. That certain something that creates a mating relationship just wasn't there. Your best efforts should be put into accepting the friendship as what it is and enjoy it while it lasts. Then again it could last forever, like mine did. Good Luck!

  16. Seems your problem is with how you have Yahoo messenger set up or your fire wall (if you have one). Check the fire wall and see if you have messenger setup to be "server". If you don't you are probably getting the error message because of that. I have had several Yahoo mail boxes for several years, and have never had a problem accessing them. I have on very few ocassions gotten the error message, but I back up and try again an it connects just fine. Sometimes you can just hit refresh and it will clear things up. The "cannot find server" message has nothing to do with Yahoo. It is an error in the function of your setup.
  17. Ugh, what a blow to my ego. You have de-friended me. You were my first friend ever at Trap 17 since you lured me over here from Asta Host. AD has left the building, although he does pop up once in a Harry Potter moon. Now what will I do? I am keeping you on my friends list, so take that.

  20. Took me forever to download the pics, St. Mike. They are kind of BIG. How about a deadline or due date?
  21. Gee, thanks, thugsmoke058, Delivi and St.Mike. I used a photograph I took of that Monarch butterfly on a Lilac bush.

  24. Siamese Is there any other breed? My Fonzie was the light of my life and a more loveable cat you would never find. Everybody who met him, liked him. He was not your average aloof Siamese at all, but ran to greet people when they came to visit. Sigh, I miss him so.
  25. Well, I have had Poodles most recently, but I like Labs, Golden Retrievers, Papillons, Bijons, and Dachies.
