  7. Thanks for the info gc87 and Tetraca. This stuff is way over my head even to begin with. I have returned the CD to the library so somebody who can understand how to us it might benefit from it. Programming is way out of my league. Guess I will just stick to my graphics programs.

    My Dog

Your problem lies in the fact that this is a cross breed. Labradors do shed horribly, but Poodles do not. Unfortunately your cross got more Lab genes than Poodle. I am sorry your father is having such a challenging time with the new dog. He will probably get no relief as long as you have the dog. I also suspect that the dog senses the tension from the effect he is having on your father. This might be part of the reason for the barking. My suggestion may seem harsh, but you should probably get rid of the dog for everybodies sake. Yes, if you have had this dog for long, I realize that parting with it will be difficult. But in the long run, your father, the dog, and you will all be much happier campers and find life more enjoyable. Then look into getting a truely non-shedding dog like a pure Poodle or a Bichon Frise both of which I know for a fact do not shed. There are other breeds that don't shed, but my experience is limited to these two breeds. Good Luck!
  16. Maybe you should show me the evidence behind your accusations. Red Cross is a NON-profit organization that has been available to aid and assist in the disaster and war torn areas of the world for longer than you have been alive. My daughter is the Coordinator of Community Education and Business Operations Officer for the West Shore Chapter of the Red Cross here in Michigan. Believe me, nobody here has made any profit off of the suffering disaster victims. She works her b***t off and gets a little over minimum wage. She schooled the volunteers sent to New Orleans from here and coordinated their travel to and from the disaster site. She was also sent to Miami as a disaster assistance coordinator when the hurricane hit there last year. This took her away from her family for over 2 weeks including weekends at her regular pay scale, without compensation for her absence from home. The main reason for the backlog in receiving assistance is in the paper work necessary to validate the legitimacy of peoples claims. I don't think the general public is aware of the shear number fraudulent claims people make during such times. They have to be weeded out to make sure the true victims of a disaster are the recipients of the help. BTW: If you donate to the National Red Cross, your donation will be divied up throughout the nation. If you want your dollars to assist in your local area, donate directly to your local chapter.
  17. I have used Cute HTML LE Version for about 4 years now. I find it user friendly and easy to work with. I downloaded it back a time for free, but I see now that it is no longer available for free. Another user friendly program is EZ Pad. Shop around at the freeware download sites and you will find lots of html editors.

  20. Duh, I picked up a copy of Delphi for Windows from a freebie box at my Library, but don't want to load it on my puter until I understand what it is. I went to the Borland web site and tried to figure out what Delphi is about, but evidently it is over my head. Is is some kind of programming software? I am not a great techy. If someone could try to explain it to me in plain English, I would appreciate it.
  21. Ahh, the genetic factor again. I have a very slow metabolic rate, low blood sugar, low temp, low blood pressure and on and on. I have been tested for thyroid and glucose, they are on the low edge of normal; almost outside normal limits. However, since they are within normal limits, they are not considered for treatment, because the doctors all go by the test results. I have all the physical symptoms of low thyroid function and hypoglycemia. Since the tests say I am within normal limits I haven't found a doctor that will listen to my complaints. I am about 50 pounds over-weight and have been for quite a while. I eat sensibly and watch my diet carefully, but I don't lose weight. Having a family history of obesity on my father's side is probably a factor and my mother had similar problems to mine. All I can say is "If you breed two heavy Draft Horses, you are not going to get a sleek Thoroughbred". As to the carbonated soft drink issue, I agree that carbonation is not good for you as it will cause bloat as well as damage to your digestive tract. I have confined myself to diet caffeine-free soda in an attempt to cut calories, but have to admit that I sometimes use it to fill my stomach so I won't eat.
  22. Not being a guy, I cannot relate to this problem. However a close male friend was having trouble along these lines. He was sent for a biopsy which proved to be negative for cancer, but medication didn't seem to relieve the inflammation. He ended up having several biopsys over a period of time. What with the worry over the persistent inflammation and trips to the doctor, he was totally frustrated. Well, guys, hold on to your caps. It was finally determined that the inflammation that persisted after the initial biopsy was due to all the biopsys he was having. How's this for modern medicine?!

    Hi

  24. Somehow I think you are overly body image conscious. Seems you wrote a post "I Hate Being Voluptuous". Nothing like dwelling on the subject. Maybe your behavior brings on the undesired responses from the opposite sex. If you act out about your figure as much as you talk about it (on here), you are making yourself a target for immature males. Perhaps you might try toning down a little. Me thinks thou does protesteth too loudly.
  25. Personally, I don't want people leaving my site never to return because they got caught up at another site. I use the new window method so they don't lose my site in the shuffle. As to the annoying extra windows, I believe it is the pop-up or pop-under ones that people don't ask for that are the annoying ones. This question can be answered best depending on what the background actually is. If it is something that cannot be repeated throughout the overall page, such as a muted graphic, then the text scroll is probably your best bet. If your background is something that repeats, in a pleasant non-interfering way, then go with the whole page scroll. Sorry, I can't help with this one. Somebody who uses Front Page will have to help out here.
