  1. I used to go on the stationary bike for at least 30 minutes per day for about 3 to 5 days a week, then I became inactive for a while. I was shocked that I got a high blood pressure rating yesterday and now I have to monitor that for the week and hope that the pressure would go down to normal. Now I'm more compelled to lose the extra weight so I could stay healthy.
  2. hmm... thanks for the information. i told my brother about it as well since he uses this laptop aside from me. i wonder how those files get embedded on your account or other people's websites.anyway, thanks again. i hope my antivirus gets hold of a solution just in case. there's only a few sites i go to and they're reliable sites, so i'm not that worried, but a little notice won't hurt.
  3. shouldn't this be on a different subforum? anyway, my favorite show right now is heroes. before we didn't have heroes being aired in any of the cable stations here so i download the episodes online. before heroes, i was watching charmed. i also watch a lot of food network because i love food
  4. well lack of sleep and too much sleep has been proven to give problems. lack of sleep causes people to not function well and usually don't feel too energetic and sometimes feel sleepy in the morning. too much sleep are believed to cause heart problems later on.the average time of sleep required for an individual is 8 hours, minimum i think is 6 hours. the amount of time we sleep usually decreases as we age (although sometimes it is related to other factors that distracts us from getting enough sleep), babies need to sleep longer so their body could develop. we need sleep so our body could repair itself and of course regain energy we need for the following day.you don't really need to force yourself into sleeping early for the sake of sleeping. however, you could set your "body clock" by doing stuff that would allow you to sleep properly, on your preferred time. your body has to get used to you shifting schedules in sleeping (let's say from sleeping at 1:30am, you would want to sleep at around 8:00pm). do it gradually, like sleeping one hour earlier for the first two or three days then do it again and again until you're able to sleep in your desired time.distraction is what inhibits people from sleeping on their preferred time. thinking too much, too much noise are just one of the distractions. if you have a lot of problems for the next day, worrying about it today won't help. the least you could do is give yourself enough energy so you could deal with the problem tomorrow. try writing it down on a paper or journal so you could remember what it was you're worried about the previous night. it doesn't solve the problem, it just helps you go through the sleeping process a lot easier.try to limit the noise (if you could, just turn all the distractions off) in your room as much as possible. if others are still awake, close your bedroom door so the noise won't get in that much. turn off the lights because that prevents you from sleeping. if you're afraid of the dark, just put the light to dim. the point here is to minimize the distractions.what if you can't sleep just yet? try reading a book and drinking a glass of warm milk. reading a book will help your eyes to feel tired, and milk has ingredients that help you doze off. don't do strenuous activities or exercises before going to bed because it will just keep you awake instead of the opposite.
  5. my younger brother just recently introduced me to kakuro. personally i think it's a lot easier than sudoku. i still think sudoku is better, and the killer sudoku even better. i remember when those two stuff were introduced to me, i wasn't taking it seriously because my mind was totally blank. i could answer some stuff but my mind was wandering somewhere else.
  6. lol sorry i turned the anti-spam on :P it ate all the comments

  7. just so we're clear, it's either the oil or the tracking system, not both.anyway, male mosquitoes don't suck blood, only the females. so it's safe to say that the female mosquito is the first one to be coming at you biting. but mosquito is a mosquito. i don't really think you need to think twice in using the flamethrower.with regards to the terrorist and the bomb, you can't really do like "heck, let's sacrifice everyone. bring on the bomb". it's not helping. it's like saying, i'll kill first before you kill everyone, at the expense of other people's lives. in the first place, you're not even sure if the terrorist is holding the bomb on his hand or stuck on his body or somewhere miles apart from him. and you really can't use the captive defector as someone to track the terrorist because you're already bound to that human error. that's why putting a bunch of "possible" suspects in a line and "picking" who's who isn't the best technique. same applies with that captive defector, unless he knows full and true details, like how the terrorist looks or where his location is. for me the more important thing is to locate the bomb, whether it's far away, or attached with the terrorist himself and most likely to detonate it. or if resources are not scarce, location of both the bomb and the terrorist. in a given limited amount of time, you can't trust the captive defector to detect, since pressuring him would make things worse. putting judgment yourself doesn't help either.
  8. lol so this was posted to a subforum other than jokes to prove the point of your sarcasm? funny. well you really don't need to have pictures of the earth to prove that it's flat or round or whatever. the whole dynamics of the earth explains it all. rock formations, the north and south poles. the geologists have proven that the poles of the earth were somehow changing over time. they found out about this through the metallic component of the rocks. there is a certain degree of alignment which these rocks follow that seem to also indicate the earth's shape. not only that, the whole mountain ranges or ocean trenches explains it as well. if the earth is flat, and the crust kept on moving, the continents wouldn't have probably be what it is right now. there's no asia, africa, etcetera.
  9. ugh I got lost while reading abminara's post I have never thought about this question but I have seen a documentary before in discovery channel which mentions that our solar system is moving away from the galaxy it is included. The system is currently on the outermost part of the galaxy (thus we have a view of the galaxy, as we refer to it as the milky way) and as it spins, it moves further away. Imagine in the future, the sky would be illuminated with a huge streak of stars and the entire milky way galaxy would definitely be seen in the night sky.
  10. spamming is not allowed. turned the anti-spam on :P

  11. hey sheepdog! i have a q. when a female dog suddenly has her udders grow big, does that mean she's pregnant?

  12. well it's already confirmed from the latest manga chapter and two chapters before that on who naruto's parents really were. as naruhina mentioned, naruto's mother is uzumaki kushina and his father is the fourth, named namikaze minato. although contrary to what naruhina mentioned, it's not really said in any way that their parents were married. it could be that minato wasn't familiar that he had a son until he was born. naruto got his attitude from his mother that's why people wouldn't really think he's the 4th's son.
  13. tf, is your database-driven shoutbox available already?

  14. I don't know about "first" since the article mentioned that the planet was seen by chance while studying the parent star. There could've been a lot of happenings like these before, but they're not documented. Had they not been studying the parent star, they probably wouldn't see this phenomenon as well. Anyway, the point is we would know what would happen to our planet once our sun reaches the same red-giant phase. I remember seeing a documentary before in Discovery Channel about the life of the sun and what would happen after it consumes all its energy. They had the simulation of what would happen to Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and Jupiter as the sun increases its size, engulfing the first three or four planets and melting the frozen gases of the farther regions of the solar system. The waters of the earth would evaporate completely due to the heat. Now, the question remains if there would still be humans before this event happens to our own sun.
  15. This may be a bit off topic, but since it's APEC related, might as well put it here. Recently, the members of the APEC committee mentioned that our country's national costume/outfit, the barong, was labeled as "peasant shirt". It came off as a rude comment and an insult to Filipinos since we take pride in our national costume. The barong, nowadays, is worn by public figures and also as part of an occasion. Not only that, the barong is also part of fashion and the creation of such takes elaborate care with the design and the materials used to make the cloth. They said that it was called peasant shirt because during the Spanish collonial era, only the peasants or those who belong to the lower class wears such. But that's not the only reason why peasants wore such. This was to make ocular inspection of these peasants who might carry guns or machetes under their clothes easier. The barong usually has a thin, almost see-through layer of fabric, that's why in present, an undershirt is required so as to not make oneself look silly while wearing such garment. I believe that the issue was resolved with the committee mentioning that it wasn't their intention to insult our country's pride by saying that. I just hope they would think first before they say anything, or moreover, learn something a little bit more before making comments that would probably irk others.
  16. oh you're a spam patrol now ^_^ congrats!

  17. You guys might want to check this video out. One of my colleagues put it as her status message the other day and when I saw it, I couldn't help but laugh continuously. It's a short video so you'll have no problem loading it. Baby Ally "Whatever" Enjoy
  18. well i'm a motorola fan since my first model so if you want my opinion, go get the motorola. and to think it's a flip-phone! i love flip phones. if you're in a country where most of the people have nokia handsets, you'd wish you want something other than that.just choose what you think which features you would need (aside from basic phone functionality of course... that's a given) and which phone gives most features. i personally just want a fm radio built in, and no camera. with regards to style, i like how nokia does their styling, but looks doesn't really mean much to me when it comes to those stuff. as long as i could send messages, make and receive calls, i'm fine.
  19. aww... you're leaving trap? well, good luck on whatever you're going to do and have fun, ok?

  20. hey Ivan! Happy birthday!

  21. I'm pretty sure I remember your birthday was January something. I know because I greeted you in the shoutbox. Belated anyway.

  22. huh? i suddenly felt like i was on another planet or something. :XD: i'm pretty sure i remember your birthday was january (well i've looked at your profile page like gazillion times already) 20-something. i remember well because i know i greeted you back then. it's either somebody must have banged my head on the wall, or you're a different person.but just in case it WAS your birthday yesterday, happy birthday anyway. belated, that is. sorry, there's a lot going on in the house i can't really use the internet that much.
  23. Definitely. Well the chocolate was his goal in the first place anyway. I think he only throws the toys and the wrappings aside, probably knowing he doesn't have use for it. Looks can be deceiving too, you know. Reminds me of Happy Tree Friends. Cute and Cuddly, but DEADLY! If you watch that, you know what I mean
  24. Well, I wasn't really afraid of needles even as a child (or at least that's what I remember). However, I do know that I couldn't look while I'm getting the shots for medicine or just for blood testing. I think I was more afraid of the process of getting punctured instead of the exact needle itself. When I got hit by typhoid fever I was hospitalized and needed to stay for more than a week. At first the whole lying down all day sucked. And to make things worse, I needed to be tested everyday so they need to take some blood every morning. Changing the IV sucked as well. There was this one doctor who couldn't get the needle through the one of the veins in my right hand. She kept on telling me that "it was just a test", but I really know she couldn't get it right. It kinda irritated me because my hand was itchy and she kept on doing that. Later on, I think she gave up and just punctured it where she thought she hit the right spot. Unfortunately, later during the day, I realized my hand was swelling, only to find out that she didn't do it properly. They had to remove the IV from my hand and transfer it to the other hand. It's a good thing I only encounter needles when I need to get some blood tests these days. I really don't like hospitals that much, not because of the doctors or anything, heck not even the needles. I just don't like the fact that I need to lie down on a bed for almost an entire day.
  25. It's amazing what these creatures can do. Another twist to the "oh no mother nature is hitting back on us" Feel the wrath of squirrels! I suddenly remembered one of the skits I saw in MadTV where the squirrels attacked the humans taking a video near a golf course. But you know I keep on thinking that the squirrel might get hit by a car while crossing the street after "stealing" the chocolates, for some unknown reason.
