  1. see i told you there's something going on. now that you have confirmation from the man himself, you could chill and just wait for your application to be approved. the least we could do is be patient. after all, we're getting these stuff for the price of making the forum active (that's online time equivalent to internet cost and electricity consumed for the amount of time spent online) kidding aside, i think we should be glad we're getting these stuff for free.
  2. yes i think typo is talking about the domain name as well. if i'm not mistaken he applied for the domain name and hosting at the same time because he wasn't hosted before. plus he also mentioned that he has 1000+ creds before.anyway, i don't want to reiterate myself for the third time so i'll just hope your domain would be processed soo.
  3. i don't know about the details. i've seen opaque online earlier during the day and he talked a few about vista and some website. dunno what that was since i wasn't paying much attention. maybe you could try again later. i'll see if i could do something if i see him online. i still believe he's busy at the moment so maybe he couldn't really process your application right now. just a guess though.
  4. hey yo tramp! still having problems? maybe you could contact buff as well regarding the situation. maybe he has some answers to your questions. just take it easy. maybe they're just busy at the moment that's why they can't process your application as of the moment. i think it was a good decision on my part not to hurry things up with regards to domain name application. don't worry too much about it. you still have your hosting account so you could maybe just use that as of the moment.
  5. i know this. you could mix up all the letters except for the first and the last of the word and you could still determine the word. this is because the brain is able to process the word (assuming that the word has been pre-stored in the brain, probably by reading, memorizing... you know, when we go to school, we learn about words and their meanings ) just by looking at the first and last letter of the word.
  6. the reason why i like java more is because i could just use the exception handling for the errors. but i have to admit i'm not a great programmer at all. i never really appreciated c/c++ because of the complicated pointers. programming with pointers was hell for me.anyways, great tutorial for starters.
  7. nice list of recipes. my only question is that do chinese really use monosodium glutamate (aka MSG aka ajinomoto) in their foods? i know it adds to the taste and also helps with preservation. i really don't use it when i cook because i know that it can cause cancer. that's why i find it quite ironic that a healthy chinese dish uses MSG in dishes.
  8. aww... my creds are going to be deducted oh well. i could still make it up anyway. no problemo. i think this would be more beneficial to those who were supposed to get the right amount of credits. fine with me really. it's not a big deal.
  9. i don't have a lot of herbs at home, my parents don't even want to plant some. but we have some other things in our garden that i usually use for treating some stuff. before we had aloe vera at home and i use it for my hair (when i still had length on my hair). i was advised to use the meat of the aloe (you get a portion, a leaf as i call it, then remove the green part or slice it in half and the clear, sticky part is the meat), crush it and rub it on your scalp. they say it helps grow more hair, but now i don't believe that anymore :)we also use guava leaves to wash the wounds. actually guava leaves has been used by a lot of local people already in treating wounds. in the provinces and during the old days, they use guava leaves after getting circumcised (they don't have the technology in the provinces, nor doctors, more like quack doctors). basically to treat wounds, you have to get leaves of guava and boil it in water. the "tea" is then used as an antiseptic on the wound.i wanted to buy sage (and probably plant it if possible) to make sage tea. i've read that it's good for those who perspire a lot. i perspire a lot and sometimes it gets distracting. i know perspiration is good for your system to get rid the body of toxins, but i think i perspire too much that i become dehydrated most of the time.
  10. i won't say i hate smokers. not really. there's a certain extent where it becomes unlikable. i have friends and classmates who smoke and i just recently found out that my dad smokes too, well at least not in the house. i think he knows that we "could" imitate his actions that's why he kept that secret for a long time. it's not that he doesn't want us to inhale the smoke, but because he doesn't want us to copy that habit.i have been around these people who smoke (except my dad) and it doesn't bother me that much (despite the fact that i have weak lungs), although what bothers me is the smell. too much and i need to evacuate. i know very well the dangers of second hand smoke, but sometimes, you can't just put up your handkerchief or towel in front of someone who's smoking just to let them know that it's affecting you, in my opinion that's kinda rude. you could tell them that it bothers you that they smoke in front of you, and you'll be surprised some people actually consider finishing up a stick and throwing it away before they talk to you. some of my friends blow the smoke on a different direction because they know not only that it's affecting the other person, but also know that it's rude to blow a smoke on someone. it's like invasion of personal space. i guess the poster of this topic didn't realize that what he says seem like he's stereotyping. being a smoker doesn't make you a bad person.i kinda agree on the part where some people don't actually read signs. let me reiterate that this is not about the habit of smoking but the part of breaking a law just to do the habit. in our country, it's prohibited to smoke in public vehicles. and for me it's rude that while the public vehicle is running (usually on open air and not air-conditioned), a smoker pops up a stick and lights it up. the worst part is, you're behind him. i remember one time i was riding a bus and the guy in front of me just went on smoking. i kept on putting up my face towel to cover my nose and kept on doing the "ehem" to make him notice. he kept on smoking even though there was a clear sign on the bus about the law of not smoking in public vehicles.i personally ask my friends who are smokers why they smoke, their primary motivation, when they started, etc. most of them say it's what makes them calm, just like how coffee makes you awake. i have never heard of a friend say "because it's cool". i think after the first try, it just goes on and on. a friend became a chronic pack-a-day smoker and her girlfriend had to stop him. apparently it was just temporary. it's hard to get rid of the habit out of the system if his girlfriend was a smoker too. it takes time to not to smoke, but the effect of smoking on the body is permanent.
  11. oh so you like games huh. hehehe well i think we have a lot of members here who are into games. so you're from croatia, huh? i think we have a buddy (or at least me and some of the shoutbox people) who's from croatia. hehe. he's matak, although he's not that active anymore because he just cancelled his hosting account.anyway, again, enjoy your stay here.
  12. is the evil group going to have a meeting? oh and i think there are some pages that haven't been updated yet. do you have wordpress templates i can destroy? you know... i need one i can transform for my blog oh wait... i thought your "Saint Michael's Corner" was a blog. heheh oh well.nice job with the layout. keep up the *cough* evil *cough* work.
  13. care to elaborate? well welcome to trap and hopefully you would enjoy your stay here. just make sure you follow the rules of the board and you'll be fine.
  14. as they say, better late than never, right? even though you're already hosted... haha. which means you've been here a long time already. anyway, enjoy your stay here at trap.
  15. i think two of the most important things in maintaining a long distance relationship is constant communication and trust. as a person in a relationship, we long for that physical need, we want to see them, hold them, which somehow fulfills that "to see is to believe" need. we feel like we can't transfer our love well if we can't see that physical connection, and i'm not talking about sex. our only consolation is to hear the voice that reminds us of that physical connection. you need to constantly talk to him to let him know that you're still there and for you to be reminded that he's still there.if you get the chance to see him face to face, you might want to talk about things and especially the fact that you're both fighting more often in recent days. you have to settle out your differences in order to make this relationship to work. and this is where trust comes in. you have to trust each other that you're both true to the relationship. bringing up the topic about trust is a very sensitive issue, especially among the guys. there's two ways of looking at it, if they get defensive, it's either they are committing an affair with someone else (or they have a relationship with another person), or they don't like to be accused of being a cheater. you have to break it gently, make sure that you talk to him in your best condition, taking into consideration that this will be solved not only with the heart but also with the mind. you have to think carefully or else a wrong decision would lead to a devastating result (not that i'm exaggerating or anything).
  16. i don't know about risk. i think the only board games i've played are scrabble, snakes and ladders, monopoly and cluedo. i don't know if cluedo's considered a strategy game, but i loved that one. playing detective and all. hehe.
  17. hmm... the background image is small. i already saw a white background after the image ended. you could have just used a plain light blue as background instead of the image. besides it would blend with the foreground image. there are also some parts in the page that doesn't load properly, but other than that, i think it's nice. good job.
  18. i have another recipe to add. it's baked mussels. you could use clams if your want, i use mussels because it's a lot bigger than clams. anyway, first off you need your shellfish and clean it properly to remove the dirt. you might also want to remove the dead ones from the bunch (they are the ones that don't shut when you tap it), and also remove those that have broken shells. then you remove the body and set aside half of the shells for baking later. i have two toppings for this, one's with tomatoes and/or tomato sauce sauteed with garlic and onions and some herbs. the other one is breadcrumbs with herbs. for the first topping, you need tomato sauce (i like some crushed canned tomato, but i usually use tomatoes and saute them), 1 or 2 cloves of garlic, minced and a medium onion, minced. on a pan with oil, put the garlic and onions and saute them until the onions turn clear. add the tomato sauce, season with salt and pepper then add herbs if you want. set aside. prepare the shells on a baking sheet and place the shellfish meat on each of the shells. top them with the sauce and top it again with cheese. pop it in the oven 350 for 20-25 minutes.the breadcrumb topping is usually for clams. to make it, you need store-bought breadcrumbs or you could make it yourself (bake the bread in the oven to dry it and then pop it in the food processor to grind it). add a squeeze of half a lemon, minced garlic, chopped parsley. you could also add cheese if you want. place the topping on top of the shells and drizzle olive oil on top of the crumbs to help it attach on the shells. bake until golden brown (GB).enjoy
  19. maybe it's just me the image was too dark for me (dark as in literally, not the evil type ) that's why i thought it needed some detail on the face. but then again it's your work
  20. even if paradise did exist, i doubt i would want to die just yet. although i found this topic a bit eccentric at a certain extent. how would you be able to know the existence of paradise if you're still alive? remember only the bible says that it exists, and to those devout, they believe it does exist, to some it doesn't. and the only reason you'd probably be able to see it (which i doubt) is for you to have a momentary death and got brought back to life again. it's not like god or whoever supreme being would say "hey, paradise exist, so if you want to be in paradise after you die , you'd better be nice".
  21. it's not that bad. i actually played one before and it's quite fun. you get to collect cards and fight, unlock hidden characters and fight them to unlock greater card packs. it gets boring when you've unlocked them all and the game becomes fairly easy because you have most of the great cards and probably some legendary ones as well. for me the worst strategy game (i only play on playstation and game boy advance) is riviera. the game's pretty straightforward, you have a main character, which is a guy (supposed to be a fallen angel) and 4 supporting female characters (2 ordinary humans, 1 sort of like a vampire, and 1 mage). you gain items which upon usage can acquire skills from, although you have to develop the skills on a limbo-like stage, because it's the only stage where the item does not break. if you fill your bag, you have to throw some items away and if you're unfortunate, you might get rid of the important items. the game is something like "choose your own adventure" in a way that you choose which path to take and see where that leads you. i think the only consolation with the game is for you to choose your own ending with one of the four female characters (actually there's 6, you get 2 more endings, one the worst ending of them, and the other with your familiar).
  22. i thought he looked funny himself it was already crazy that they killed those characters. i doubt a 4th will be made, to me it's pointless since they killed prof x already as if aurora munroe would be enough to replace him on the position. jean gray was way better as a successor to x, but since she's killed too, they're left with storm. and the fact that they made a lousy plot for the 3rd doesn't deserve them another sequel.
  23. yes, i totally agree with you. i think one of my marine science professor actually told us about this (almost everything you said). she mentioned that the more your body gets in tune with nature, the more you relate to it; thus, like what you said, the woman's cycle follows the cycle of the moon. in wicca, the phases of the moon have a meaning and different rituals are associated with each phase. although i agree with your postulation about the blood rising, i think the pull of the moon isn't as great with our blood (or with our body, for that matter) as that of the pull on the ocean water.
  24. i think this is a bit offensive since this is your assignment. like what t3jem said, we could give you advises but we can't give you the code for your assignment. the reason why assignments are given is for you to train yourself in programming. you yourself mentioned that you have learned these stuff, so for you to ask us some code, means you haven't learned anything at all. it takes practice even if you're not really good.
  25. hey gramps! i need money
