Ok, anyone who has visited My Webpage will notice that my website is written completely in English, as the rules state is the requirement. However, a while ago (when I had this site on a different host), I was working on a French translate for my site, and was considering Japanese too. Now that I am hosted on Xisto.com, I want to know if I can put up a translated version of my site without breaking the rules. I would still keep the website as English by Default, because the rules say I must, but am I allowed to make translates of the pages? I will keep all the content the same on all translates wherever possible.

I am glad you liked this post. I decided to post it when I got a PM begging for Hosting Credits, and I instantly knew it was gonna become a Pinned Topic. Seems I was right :(And while I'm on the matter of begging for Hosting Credits... I agree with elevenmil. I do not believe in giving credits, because after all, aren't we all here to EARN hosting???

What Is This Number in our user ID panel on posts?
gameratheart replied to Avalon's topic in Web Hosting Support
If I hadn't read this I'd've asked what was wrong with the army system. Looks like my wish is finally happening (read the end of my sig). But... some people have said that people who are not playing the Army System before it went down have the same number. 678 or something like that, but I quit it two months ago and my number is 20. It's also intresting to note that it adds the coding to the Location, and that, from reading the post LocalSeer said, it might be related to the Location after all. But it does seem to be something to do with the Army System. -
Since you used a template, Word checks the template for the Document Info. I don't know if this is the reason why the data does not show on your source though. It may be that Word 97 does not have this exploit (the source claims you use Word 97). I only tested this on Word 2000. Do tell me if other versions do/don't have this exploit.

Many members ask about the matter of hosting credits. Xisto staff have explained hosting credits clearly on the site, but if you're not paying attention, have any questions, or need more, here are some points that will answer your questions. Due to a few user comments, I have had to add a few more points, and edited some previous points to be a bit more clearer. This is in addition to the additions mods have made to the posts, which I greatly thank you for. 1. READ THE FORUMS BEFORE YOU POST A CREDIT QUESTION!!! How many times have the Admins of Xisto explained hosting credits? And yet, many of you STILL ask questions! Xisto has an FAQ for Hosting Credits: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/6147-posting-activity-rule-automated-hosting-script-know-about-how-this-system-works/ 2. Contrary to popular belief, you CAN transfer hosting credits to one another, if you are HOSTED. If you wish to do this, go to https://support.xisto.com/ and tell us your Username, Password, the Username of who the credits should go to, and the amount of credits. All transfers will fail, however, if you are not left with more than 30 credits afterwards. Note: You CANNOT reverse a credit trade, and there is a commison charge. Also, hosting credits ONLY transfers between hosted members, and you CANNOT transfer hosting credits from Xisto to Xisto (or vice versa). No exceptions to these rules will ever be made. 3. DO NOT ask members to give you credits! This will simply annoy most people. Credits should only be given to members who are loyal, kind and helpful, and it is the choice of any member to give you credits. If you REALLY need more, do a few good posts! Or maybe participate in a competition, there are loads around! Just don't resort to begging, it won't be good for ya. 4. When you are HOSTED and have more than 30 Credits, you can place them into the BANK. You do this in the same way as explained in step 2, with the person you are sending the question to being BANK (all capitals). The bank will keep the credits so you can award them to people without having to tax them. There is a 3% commision charge on doing this, however. 5. And NO, the bank is NOT a way to gain more credits! It simply acts a storage place for credits that you intend to give to someone else as a prize or reward. 6. If you REALLY, REALLY don't think you can keep up the credits needed to keep your website up, then buy some! A while ago, Xisto introduced a system to allow you to buy hosting time, at $10 (about Ł5.12 GBP, or €7.58 Euros, correct at time of print) for 6 months, up to two years. This is not an excuse to stay inactive, however! Thanks for reading this. I just want to help, and I hope I have not upset anyone.

Is Freededicatedservers.com A Scam? what do you think
gameratheart replied to CrazyRob's topic in General Discussion
Whileas the site does not look as professional as it seems, the kind of service they are offering and the fact that they do a paid hosting service suggests to me this is not a scam. However, it is definately not something for the unpopular sites due to the hit requirements, and I reccomend you think about this carefully before you decide to use this service. Notice from jlhaslip: edit for typo per request -
I just found out that Winamp requires registration to download. The registration requires an email adress, as per usual. And since it is a corporate-based Free Program, I doubt I should trust it either...

Same here ongnoai. I quit using RealPlayer about a month after I started using it, because I suspected there was something wrong with the program, and I just didn't like it's style. Now I have evidence to find I was right. They make a free version but don't allow you to use it until the trial is over! That just... For lack of a better word (sorry), RealPlayer sucks. I'm definately gonna take a look at winamp.

I don't really see the pronblem here. Just 'cos Microsoft thinks hiding military bases is a good idea, doesn't really mean anything. Although Google Earth is going to get much more popularity now they know they have a better map... And your point about Super-slow dialup... we all feel that way. Dialup is so stupid!

I Want A On-line Store! what is needed for an online store?
gameratheart replied to spy_charly's topic in Business Forum
You can use the Agora Shopping Cart mod on CPanel for a simple Online Store, and Fantastico has two other Online Store Softwares available. But if you'd rather do it yourself, be warned it may be very tough. The good thing about the internet nowadays though, is nothing is as hard as it seems. -
Well, who can really argue with those results? Everyone on this list deserves what they got, especially S_M! Yay Saint! Notice from rejected: No need to quote the post

If this doesn't prove how much Xisto rocks! 10,000 members and more every day! Makes me think... who else has been as successful. But the answer seems obvious. :)Congatulations Xisto!

This thread is the Discuss your OS Game! The "Discuss your OS" game is a remake of the +/=/- game some forums do to rate people on their ideas. Basically, this is a chance for you to discuss your opinions on any Operating System you use. The way you do this is simple: 1. Click the "Post Reply Button" 2. Put these symbols onto four separate lines: OS: + = - 3. Where it says OS: , you type the Operating System you use (Example: Windows XP). Then on each other line write your opinions about that System. Next to the + write something(s) you like the most, next to the - things you don't. The line marked = allows you to write anything "neutral", ie. Neither good nor bad. 4. Click the Post button and you're in the game! In case you don't get the idea, here's an example post: The best thing about this game is, if you have an opinion about someone else's OS, then there's always room for you to share your opinion too! In fact, why not put several opinons into the same post? That would really be a bonus! Share your opinions and have fun!!! - NDPA PS: Please keep it clean - rules are there for a reason! PPS: I am sorry if a game like this is classed as a spam-builder. It is not my intention to cause Spam, merely to share opinions. This game has been used on many other forums and has worked okay, so I brought it here. If it does cause trouble, I appologise beforehand.

Yahoo Mail Beta New Look for Yahoo Mail
gameratheart replied to cse-icons's topic in Science and Technology
I've used Yahoo! Mail for two years and I've never left it since. I have used Hotmail but it ... how do I put it politely ... just plain sucks. Too much spam, MSN sends you unwanted email all the time, and it's STILL only 250MB! Come on, can't Microsoft do better?I'm glad to hear that Yahoo! Mail is changing 'cos the old look is starting to get rather cluttered... but I'm a UK citizen so I'm annoyed the Beta Test is only available in the US... hope they bring it here. And to all of you complaining about the spam on Yahoo!, I must say, Yahoo! does seem to get quite a lot of spam at the start of your account (I got ten emails from unknown senders in the first month, all of which were viruses!), but if you put up with it, the problems just fade away. Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection. I tell you, if you get spam from a person and report it, you'll NEVER hear from them again unless you ask it to! -
I'm stuck on the fourth one as well. There's a clue in the Source, but I don't understand it... but I got the rest of them straight away. Notice from rejected: Change first to fourth

I just read this news article... what can I say? I... I just can't believe Microsoft would do such a thing... I mean, I know that their hardware can be shoddy at times, but still... I trust this story highly because of two reasons: 1. It's hosted on Yahoo, and Yahoo now posts their Latest News Articles onto the Mail page you see after logging in. If they posted a false story, they could get done. 2. It's written by Reuters, which is a news organisation sponsored by all major web hosts, including Wanadoo and (I believe) AOL. (ok, maybe not that good examples...) I actually have to agree with shigajet with this matter: Still, I won't post my honest opinion on this matter until I know the result of the trial, or even if it will be done at all...

Anyone who's decent will not have tried to send 50,000 emails at once with most being duplicate... the rules state that you must not do any mass emailing, and I think this qualifies... Most likely you guys are right and these are reckless competitiors trying to destroy us. Or they're just some stupid people who want to mess with anything and don't give a darn about anything. This is just something that makes you wanna use profanity, but I'm good enough to control my rage. But one question: how does dam count as swearing?

Major Security Issue Exists in Source of Word-Created Web pages! This is an URGENT news bulletin to anyone who owns a website!!! Problem: A serious security exploit exists in the source of these documents that allows anyone who is able to view the source of the page to gain personally identifiable information relevant to the document. This is due to Microsoft Word's method of dealing with web pages - Microsoft Word, despite being able to create Web Pages/Templates, does not actually understand their format, and so it stores the Word program data into the source of the page so that, when it is opened up later, word can read the source and translate it into a Word Page. However, since all Word documents require the name of the Author, Owner, Creator and Company, this data is also stored in the source. This data is not removed when uploading the webpage to any site, allowing people to view the source and see this data, putting your own personal security at risk. In case you did not understand the above, here is a quote from my website which summarises the above in less detail: Severity: Critical, especially if the details for Owner, Author or Corporation are actual names or adresses. Solution: I have found three solutions to remove these. Edit the source of all uploaded pages and get rid of most of the header. This will get rid of the program data, however it can also muck up the design of the pages. After saving the document, view the document's propeties. This can be done either thorough explorer on in the File > Properties menu in Microsoft Word. Get rid of all data that identifies you as the owner of the document, or change it to not show actual names. Alternatively, you can save the document contents into another HTML editor, getting rid of the foreign tags. Then destroy the original word document. It is rumoured that later versions of word do not have such an exploit, although this has not been confirmed. Personally however, I would rather not risk it and advise all people attempting to make their site through HTML Editors and other Helper programs, to steer clear from Word. This topic was made entirely by NDPA. The Quote used above, orginally posted by me, was copied from my own website, and edited as necessary. Under no circumstances may you use the above quote in any way without my explicit permission. UPDATED: Methods of fixing glitch updated. Also corrected some typos.
