I guess I would have to rate Google really high... I use it all of the time! I have it as the default search on Firefox, so anything I need to just type it in the addy. So really, I guess it would be harder for me to search if I didn't have the search address bar. Whenever I need something picture wise, I plug in the keywords and go to images. Anytime I need to look something up, I don't type in the www, I just plug in the keyword in the Google bar, and just search away...So I guess I would have to rate it 9... if it were 10, it would be perfect and I would never have a bad search... but it is usually really good to me.- skedad -

Oh, ok. Thanks for the info, and I really didn't mean it to be negative. I just really wasn't sure if it was really a good deal or not. I think I will finish my registration with them then, and try to get the extensions again... They would be worthwhile trying out.... ok, especially because they are free! Thanks, skedad

Get Paid To Search Yahoo! New way for you to make money online
skedad replied to ltc29's topic in Search Engines
Anything or anyone that will pay you to do the online things that normally people only do for recreation... not a good idea... if you ask me.I think it is a way for people to realize that they do stuff like surf the net and Yahoo, and are like... hmmmm to give up my really important information to something I have no clue about, or don't even start researching about... I guess I will be asking for trouble!People need to really think about what goes on on the net... and when something bad happens when they do not use caution, then it is too late and people are hacking their pcs or taking their personal info and doing really bad things with it all.I have also heard of the wannabe myspace where you are paid to get new friends and search other's pages... also, I wonder why... But again, it is just me, and I really hope you think twice and go, hmmm what good could come from this from the person paying, I mean planning to pay me to do odd stuff on the net...Sometimes you should just stick to webpages and forums, all! -
The iPhone... it is the coolest thing out there... I guess. I don't have one, and I don't think I will ever be getting one. I used to have a really cool cellphone, until the whole cellphone universe came and just overdid it all. I had 100 and some odd minutes and that was how it was. Then I moved up a few years when it became more popular having cellphones. Then I basically had 4000 minutes off peak time and only like 350 for daytime calling. I did all of my free time after 9 to make those major calls. And now I only do tracfone so that I don't overpay for not using any of my phone...And it used to be crazy trying to keep my batteries charged... this is to make phone calls, and people out there are using the net on their phones! I played really crappy little games when I was bored and had my phone... but then that also would zap my battery power.I am glad to see people can find the money for all of the benefits of camera and online and mp3 downloading... that is nice... I will probably never really have the money to want to do all of that on my phone... I am pretty busy, and if I am not at my PC, there is a reason... so I probably won't be sitting around playing games, listening to music, playing a game on my phone... but if I really need to, I have a nice 10 minutes left on my tracfone... That is my iPhone reality!Single people who have money to burn... enjoy your iPhones!

I was looking, and it was looking quite interesting. I went ahead and searched a few of the extensions, but when I was ready to start checking for the downloads, or even other personal info, I went ahead and checked the agreement plan. Unless you went ahead and checked things out and are even using them right now, I was looking at a 30 day subscription charge... I didn't continue on because it sounded like a trial to me. I could be wrong, but that just seems to work that way with PC software. If I am wrong, then that is good that there is some good freeware... just be cautious around a month from now! I have a lot of extensions to begin with, so I may not really be missing out on a few freebies... Have fun with your extensions, and thanks for the posting...

Well I think it is a good idea... Pretty smart, too. But I would just be concerned with having really important files being kept in something like an MSN product. Not that it is terrible being MSN, but that it is known for fun messaging programs, and this is like security issued programming.Of course, I think I may give it a try so that I can use it as a temporary storage site, but probably not anything really important with vital information involved. But I do like not having to send over disks, CDs, flashdrives and whatnot all of the time, and have the Internet up and running from laptop to desktop.

I have never paid for hosting, either. But on the other hand, I haven't really had much hosting until coming to Xisto. I have had geocities, but it is definately not Xisto. I am not ripping on geocities. It was really good to me when I used it, but after the addition of the side adbar, it just was time to try something new.I have seen many popular sites that were free, but they still were really lacking what I was looking for. I even had a plan to buy my hosting as long as it was reasonable. But I was very lucky to bump into a hostsite that brought me to Astashost.I will say that even though it is free hosting, I still have to put the effort into the forums... It seems good to go at first, but it really is work somedays... but it is worth every post I do.And like others have said, there is enough posting information to at least get anyone started that is truly serious about it. And everyone is able to put the time and energy into helping others, and putting in their input. So if this is your first time with Xisto, Welcome! And hope you get what you are looking for and more with working with Xisto.- skedad -

I would have to think that Microsoft thinks that Vista is their best version.I don't think I would say best, but maybe my favorite to use is Windows XP. I have basically used every Windows known to mankind. I would say Vista is my favorite, but I have only started to play with Vista a few months now, as compared to many years installing and reformatting and so forth with XP.Vista is loaded on our Acer laptop. I have an older desktop PC that is still running XP. My brother in law also has Vista, but he has been having license issues formatting and reformatting. So I would love to try to put Vista on my desktop, but I guess I just have not checked into Microsoft's licensing issues with XP and Vista. This is my wife's laptop and so I don't really feel like messing around with formatting and reformatting it... I want her to have a reliable system when she needs it.XP is and has been on a lot of my desktops throughout a few years. It has been very easy to use, to format and reformat, and even personalize as far as hard space usage... I was able to partition anything I liked and loaded other OS with it. It took me a while at the start to get used to XP's look over 95, but afterward I really got into the fact that it was really new compared to 95 and 2000. And that I could go back to classic whenever I felt. I have even had classes on the ins and outs of running and troubleshooting Windows XP.Windows 2000 was another I began to play with. I had my first real PC loaded with 95, and I tired of the blue screen and my PC always freezing up. I had a more professional version of 2000, so I didn't really do a lot of desktop personalizing. I had 95, and had moved it only to 2000 for a few months before reformatting and leaving it with Windows XP. If I were to get a new PC, I would be happy with Vista, but would always keep XP on hand.As for Windows 95 and Windows 3.1, I guess I would say they should be extinct. I know they were important for the evolution of Windows, but the world is getting so into the technology age, that if anyone were to run any kind of computer, it should run at least Windows 2000. The 3.1 was fun for me when I was younger, and played a lot of fun games on it... but I just don't think anything should be run other than Paint and Solitaire. So I am glad I was able to do a little opinion posting, but I am glad I was able to do a nice critique on it in the end. Be good to whichever version you have and it will be good back.XP and Vista... they are the two for me.- skedad -

I have a lot of the Smackdown games, and the newer Smackdown vs Raw series are ups and downs from the last and the next. The difference from the 2008 version from the others is that the roster is lacking, but I heard that in 2009, it will be larger.I love how the graphics are getting better each version too. The Create A Wrestler is getting closer and closer to the actual wrestlers, and I like that it takes the really good aspects and keeps them from game to game. I think that Smackdown vs Raw's new 24/7 setup is a good idea, but I think that keeping it to one season as compared to multiple makes it difficult to keep up with one session, and want to try to play another one while in midseason... and you need to start a new. That might be a bit much, but in the previous versions, you could do Season and GM mode on and off as much as you would like.. I guess it is the creators ideas for grouping a lot of features together.I think at some point, I may try the online versions, but I just don't do enough online gaming... But I guess it would be a new way of keeping the flow of the game going so you won't burn out on playing. So I think Yukes has a good thing going, and I am hoping each wrestler from Raw, Smackdown and ECW will have roles in the 2009 version.

I am not one to judge on a lot of topics, and this is one of them. I think it should not be taken as serious as it is, and I think the same of Tarot. I think it was fine at one time going to a corner fortune teller for a quick fix on how you need to live your life...I think that people like to take what they want from horoscopes. Maybe if you are not worried about how it will turn out, or if it is a little negative, then it is just set aside... But when it seems to be positive, or even a bit close to what you are going through, then it is a miracle reading. My wife enjoys finding out on a few horoscopes, but then I have seen so many things revolve around it. I think it is like Miss Cleo on TV, taking up too much space... I have been interested in finding if Aries and Capricorn are compatible... but I think it is coincidence... But that is just my opinion. It is like the messages of fortune cookies, I just find the entertaining thought behind it, but wouldn't put a whole lot past it. But if you all get what you want and need out of it, then so be it!That is all...

I am so waiting on this MGS4 PS3 deal that my local GameStop is doing... It could be worldwide, but it is the console, MGS4, controllers and a few other fun things on the PS3 for like 499.... really can't beat that deal. I think it is like 80gig, too.So I would hope to have a really cool review for this topic if and when I pick it up... sounds flippen fun as heck too! Have fun playing!- skedad -

I guess it would seem you would have a nice span of time to not have to worry about posting. I think it might be a little more than a credit a day, but I would think 100 credits would be a nice cushion for vacation. Unless, of course, your are going on a 3 month vacation... that would be nice hahaha! But yes, the credits are endless!

Favourite Harvest Moon Game? There seem to be so many...
skedad replied to Vicious_AD's topic in Computer Gaming
I guess the only thing I can add to this topic is that my daughter played the heck out of Harvest Moon on Playstation2. I would watch her a lot while she played, and it looked fun... She would harvest the crops and she found a way to have her own horse that would take her everywhere. My mother in law was the one who found the game for her.She would play and her character ran his own farm... and it was fun to watch her learn many different miniquests. She ended up having a few cows, a horse, some chickens and a dog. That is the only Harvest Moon game I know about.- skedad - -
I guess I went ahead and followed the link, but was trying to find Xisto and Xisto... Yes, it could have been there, but I am just not a patient fella. I do know that a lot of host review sites work very well... I was looking randomly and found Xisto... I am really glad that I did, too.It took me a while to get into the whole forum posting, but in time I was doing just fine.I just looked into a lot of free hosting sites, and started checking them out one by one. I came to Xisto, and it just really clicked for me! I don't really think I would keep looking, especially right now. I would think later on, if I were to go against Xisto, it would be to actually pay for a site... So I could only put full detail into my website... I don't have anything against the forums, but it is a decent amount of work some days!So to get back on topic, I think it is good to go to review sites... maybe check into a few and find similarities... Then make your choice from there... Or, hey... stick to Xisto and Xisto!I am doing the whole posting in Xisto, but haven't gotten into a second serious site just yet...- skedad -

Currently, I am using Mozilla Firefox, and I am very impressed. I have always used Microsoft Internet Explorer, but only when Firefox is not accessible. I have only used Netscape a few times, but that was before I had my own access or my own computer. It seemed fine, but I was still novice at using the world wide web at the time.I have Explorer by default, but would love to devolve back to Explorer 6... I think this newest installment was trying to be different and to mimic Firefox... It works fine, but I have had to reopen my IE browser many times just to get it to work without bugs.Firefox is my default browser right now. I do notice that it does take up a lot of memory and space, but I do think it is well worth it. As long as new TABS are used and not windows opened, it will only add a little bit of memory to each new tab. But if another window is opened, then I do start to notice a slower computer. But I still recommend it... that, and it is fun to customize Firefox like themes and add ons.Like the post above, I also have Apple Safari installed on my PC, because it came with iTunes update. I am not really sure how it works, because I don't really use it. I make my webpages, and I will preview it in Safari, but that is about it. If it is being commonly used with iTunes, then I will try to at least make it accessible on my webpages... but it seems to already work well with my other browsers.Opera has been brought up many times on the web. I have not installed it, but I have read up on a few reviews. If I were to try collecting browsers as a hobby, I guess I would try to install it too.... I do know of yet another browser, but it slips my mind... Maxton!!?? I may be confusing it with the harddrive Maxtor. But I think it is not as widely used, or I would remember the name better. So I will continue to use Firefox, and sometimes Explorer... unless there will come a time when a new browser comes along and blows them out of the water!- skedad -

The text based games are a rarity nowadays... I have seen the role play version, but it follows with my email response, and illustration on website... But that also was how I would play.I also remember playing many different text based games on my old Tandy 1000... It was black screen and green text, and man did it scroll fast at times... Very quite detailed and interesting though, even though it easily got repetitive. I would keep track of many different scenario shifts, even though it only went a few different ways. That was then and this is now... and creators are making it much different today... I enjoy doing a lot of multi player online than the sit and type and wait...Good luck working away at yours!

At first I did use Limewire for music downloading, but it was not frowned upon. Heck, I started with the FIRST Napster... when it was free and still legal to do all, too. But then again, if I were to up and download music a lot again, I would still be willing to buy a CD of the group if I were up to it and if it were worthwhile... And yes, the bitrate and quality is not the same as crystal sound CDs nowadays. I just purchased a CD the other week, put it in my van and was blown away! Very different to my older burnt CDs.... and that is why I will continue to buy... QUALITY! And I do have an iShuffle, but I use it when I am not by a PC, stereo, radio, my TV and well, you get the idea...

I have it in my head, but all I can think about is the random GUI method. I have it set for a lot of my images on my webpage to rotate randomly, and I am trying to think how youtube could do so. Then I think that you don't want it random, and then it could be like sort array with like recent date.I am also a bit rusty with a lot of scripting, too. But I believe like I read before, looking to set it into an array might be the way to go... because scripting isn't as solid as rotating images and URLs... at least I think so... or, you could leave coding open, and replace it with new information... I do that sometimes with a lot of my updating... it is a bit cheesy at times, but it may do the trick. That is why I have so much useless data and files, and HTML pages in my webpage folder... I would think you could always experiment. If I can think of anything more logical than luck, I will post it for you... good luck.

Powerpoint games... hey, why not!? I use Powerpoint for a many different projects. I guess I could see how some Powerpoints could have games, but I just wonder if storing them in Powerpoint could work... But to run from an actual Powerpoint, I would think text related games would work just fine... you could probably do a lot with it... Maybe even show some basic illustration or animation with a few pages...I guess it would work well, but I would think there would be better media alternatives, but I guess anything is possible in the PC world! The latest I have worked on Powerpoint wise was a web comic, and a little presentation for my son's birthday... Fun to create, fun to share.- skedad -

I would think Limewire could still a reliable program, but I don't really think it is as popular as it once was. Once the government cracked down on music downloading, it also starting getting tough on piracy. Now there are a lot of programs that will really keep an eye on illegal copying, and even making sure there are not multiple serial codes...I believe Limewire can still be used legally, but I don't really think it is used as much as it was and that is do to music and video piracy. Now some file sharing is still done legally, but it is becoming a rarity. Pictures and photo sharing could still be considered... But even uploading and downloading software... illegal!Anyone can install Limewire... it is the P2P usage that is limited. So PRO will give you better and faster results... but to download, or upload.... <i>what?</i>Have fun, but you have to be careful in the process!- skedad -

With a game like Guitar Hero, you are given a guitar to play. So, I would think you would only play the guitar, and if you are into that kind of thing, then all of the time and energy will go into making everything about it an experience. I love to play guitar, and to try to mimic it on a game is pretty cool, to me. If I were not really into playing guitars, or the concept of music instrument playing, then why bother putting time into playing such a game.Learning to play the game is part of the fun concept. You start out easy trying to get the idea and feel of playing guitar like that. If you have passion and enjoy the styles of rock music, it would be fun to mimic the real thing. If you start to get better, then it is challenging yourself to more different licks and trying to keep up with a lot of notes. No guns, swords, footballs, or anything of the sort... but if you really like to thrash out on a guitar, it is for you... if not, then you are just holding a guitar looking controller wondering why you would be putting any time into it...It just comes down to what you are into, and what you can get out of a specific game. (This basically turned from an answer and into a critique... just opinions...)- skedad -

After using the Xisto forums for many months, I thought I would attempt to have one of my own... Little did I know, that I didn't have, well, any following what so ever.... I tried to just make it private and link it onto my site. I didn't really want to go and throw it out into the WWW without really having a few people on it and making it active.I had two people come in and say a few things, my wife and my sister! And they were happy and bias! So, I don't know if I will scrap it, it doesn't cost me anything, because I just went to invisionfree forums... Oddly enough, it seems like Xisto format, but I wonder if forums are just like myspace layouts: typical to default setups, and everything follows suit, and it is up to the moderator to make it look a bit different from the next forum.I enjoy(ed) creating many different icons and banners for it, but it has 0 traffic, and I can't even make myself content enough to keep adding to it... maybe I will just try again later after rethinking how it will look and feel.... and not try to be so 'that shouldn't go with my forum' feel, or I will not have any forum left to look at.

I guess this is kind-of on topic, but it seems a bit odd at times seeing information regarding other free sites... Isn't it like going into Burger King while eating a Big Mac... I mean freewebs.com should have it's own tutorial or maybe even more information available for it's client el...Don't get me wrong, this isn't a post comment to negate using freewebs.com, but a ponder at to why not go with Xisto if you are finding out information regarding free hosting... I mean I am a loyal Xisto member, and I try to tell others about THIS free site. Finding information on another level like this seems a bit odd. I will not lie by saying I may be looking into making another site and trying another service... More likely Xisto, to go along with my Xisto account... This is raving Xisto a lot, because I trust in it's services... Maybe by not helping with freewebs.com information, it could entice you into trying more Xisto services!

The only real fully functional flash sites that I like are probably the movie sites. I have seen many of them... but the one that really stands out in my mind at the moment was the last XMen movie - X3. I mean from start to finish, it was all about selecting your character, and it follows through a lot of filtering effects and then it shows like a clip, and a lot of stats on that mutant... it was really cool.I haven't really followed fantastic sites lately... I cycle through a lot of favorites on my Homepage and in my Bookmark sites... but I also see like WWE.com with the flash menus.. and they scroll rather nicely... I see personal sites that actual graphic and web designers do for themselves and they are really well thrown together!I see sports pages like NFL.com that put up teams and scroll around too.It can be done very well and not bog down so much bandwidth... and then there is constant looping over and over that make navigating difficult... But I am still a big fan of flash sites and gaming programs... Well done. All I have to do is get a better grasp of using flash so I can keep adding it on to my page.- skedad -

Online Dating Sites Do you use them?
skedad replied to rhodesian.dragon's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Online dating sites.... haha, oh my they were fun... Maybe when you are really, really bored online, and single. I mean we are talking like being without a date... and also, really, really bored.I would play with dating sites like anything else... find the newest profile pic and just play around... I liked at least how you could find who would be right for you... crazy, freaky goth girl, or shy little library girl... hahaI never would do the subscription... but I at least liked it when you could get a serious response... Now all of the ads out there are showing like Girls Gone Wild pervfest...THANK GOD I DO NOT USE ONLINE DATING SITES!! But, they were still fun at one time...But whatever works for some people... You want to find someone, at least be honest...
