  1. It is very sad to hear... and it is becoming way too common nowadays, too. I mean all I am hearing nowadays is war, floods, and death... ok, that was a bit much, but really... If it is not a cancer, it is maybe a fluke and some off the wall disease.I think that celebrities are either taking overly care of themselves with like trainers that they can shell out money for... or they are on the other end of the spectrum out partying and just being bad to themselves.Bernie Mac... I have seen so many of his great work... and now he is gone forever... It's just too bad... but he will be missed, and I will enjoy him every time I keep seeing his shows and movies.
  2. I played on pogo.com a long time ago... But then I went back to college, and I see all of these other arcade sites. Addictinggames, GameHippo, miniclips, and now I found Andkon a few weeks ago.I liked the sites like playsite ( I think that was it... but it also has been a while) because a few friends of mine got me into playing Monopoly and Scrabble online. And it is cool to do some side chatting, too.I just don't seem to have the time to have fun online like I used to. Checking mail, and checking forums...
  3. So I am not so sure right now, I am just letting it download. I am using Firefox, and I have used it forever. I don't really hate or dislike Explorer, but Firefox has been very good to me, especially seeing that Explorer was going very slow on my PC when Firefox has been just truckin on.I do remember the fact that Microsoft just has to do EVERYTHING to a browser, and that is why it is just going by very slowly, but I guess there is a vast amount even for a beta tested browser. This is the new age of security and malicious materials... So there is a step that is locating malicious software... not on my PC will you find that!So I guess I will just have to give it a try... thanks for the posting!- skedad -
  4. The only non video game RPGs that I have played were Dragon Strike, and Mage.Dragon Strike was a board game that my brother and I use to play. It had the dice, and it had a few characters and props that you could set up around the board. And it usually went by the line of sight where you could see what was around you. It was pretty fun, actually. The other, Mage, was from a book... and it could be played basically anywhere. And I had friends come over and we would just chill for a few, then we would just start to play when we got more comfy and into character.I don't do anything but console RPGs... but I don't forget the others.
  5. I have tried a few different forums myself. I even have one installed through Xisto, too. But I just can't sit down and really customize it to my liking... and I don't really think it will catch on for my site. It is a family site, and I am trying to not make such boring stuff in them. I have my sister and my wife... and a few of their friends. It is just not as much fun as I was planning, so I will just try it again later.I know that I can keep up with Xisto and it's forums, because it is a site with a purpose. I am here to keep my hosting, and I can find TONS of topics to post in. I just try to keep it current. So I will probably try it again sometime, and I will be following this site to see if there are better and more popular ones to be a part of.- skedad -
  6. I am not a huge critic, and I have only tried a few webpage creator. I have tried like Trelix web, and then I have moved on to Frontpage. I did not seem to have a problem with Frontpage until I downloaded and began using Firefox. It was not working that well with my Frontpage, so I was trying to find a way to have it work compatible with it. I was not successful then. I was then able to get a copy of Macromedia Dreamweaver, and even though I was still novice with it, I found that I was able to do a lot of stuff that Frontpage did, and it was working wonderfully with my newfound Mozilla Firefox. So at that point, I went on with using Dreamweaver.I have only had actual educational training with Dreamweaver, and it was to help boost my usage. I have tried a Frontpage class at my college, but it was too by the book, and it was not helping me anymore than I already knew. So I still felt like sticking with Dreamweaver.I had a copy of educational version of Dreamweaver. And it came with A LOT of extensions. I have only really installed ones that I figured I would either really use, or have an idea from just looking at the file, or a little research. But I liked that idea that I could start customizing my copy of Dreamweaver to work for me... and I am still looking for more and more extensions... It's like the equivalent to finding filters and plugins for Photoshop. So I would have to say to my knowledge, that it is the best... for me. And if I happen to find more on other programs on this site or other web sites, I will try to find out more.- skedad -
  7. I see the posts with the messengers. I have used many of the popular ones, but I don't really do it a whole lot right now. I basically use or have used Trillian, meaning Yahoo!, MSN, and I have a really old AOL account. I like that it is all combined, but I just don't seem to have the time to sit and type and blab these days. I think I would be on the phone a lot more these days.I thnk if Trillian beefed up their basic to add a lot of cool features that each service has, then I would be using it tons more.I guess I would have to get Pro, but that is money, and I don't want to use it that bad, and then it would be freeware anymore!
  8. The Dark Knight... I am thinking it is the 2008 version of Batman. I am only saying it because of the possibility and popularity of Batman Begins. It is the new generation movie series, and I believe they are using the comic approach to the Joker this time. He is more dark and sarcastic, instead of spray painting over famous paintings, and little gag pranks.I have not seen it yet, but have read a lot about it already. I guess I will have to wait for DVD, but I do have a 50inch plasma... nice little mini-theater. So I am impressed with a lot of the Marvel and other series.... Daredevil, Elektra, Punisher, Fantastic Four series, Batman and I am sure many others. I love the new CG additions... like if there were a new Terminator remake. No more rubber mask affects. So back to Dark Knight. I loved Batman Begins, and I am hoping it will be a great addition to the series, whether it is another prequel, or a new sequel.
  9. The mini fridge could be used as a super icepack. So yeah, it seems to make sense in that aspect. It could go in a cooler, or lunchbag. It could probably be used to cool things around it or to keep things cold... like maybe keep out interferences. I wonder if it lasts much longer than icebags in coolers or icepacks in lunchbags.Maybe it is worthwhile finding out more information now that I am not being so silly about it!- skedad -
  10. Wow, how can you name all of the really great games when there are hundreds out there! Maybe I will try to be a little more categorized. Maybe a few good games to go with the systems.I got into a lot of games in my day. I started with the arcades. There was Simpsons, Moonwalker, XMen, and of course, the WWF Wrestlemania style games. Of course, later on even when there was consoles, I loved Mortal Kombat just as much when it first came to arcades.... oh and Street Fighter, too. Before Nintendo, we had a Tandy 1000 EX, in which we were just kids. We had the Black Cauldron, Kings Quest. We upgraded to Coleco and had a ton of the great arcade classics like PacMan, Gorf, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr.Ok, so then the revolution came and we had Nintendo. Of course, it was the Super Mario Brothers series. I found that Nintendo had some really tough games, too. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a challenging game. But then the arcade styles to follow lightened up a bit... even into Super Nintendo. I began my fascination with Final Fantasy, but it didn't really begin until SNES. I even liked the Disney series of Ducktales and Rescue Rangers. Others: Metroid, Excitebike, Ultima.Super Nintendo game by storm and made every game known to man "Super." Super Street Fighter, and still the Super Mario series... World and Allstars. I think it was the Role Playing that really did it for me... of course, all time favorite to this day is Final Fantasy... on SNES was 2 and 3... wasn't til Playstation that I picked up the 'lost' versions. TMNT came out with the better graphics and random RPGs like 7th Saga, and Secret of Mana, Evermore... Other favorites would be the fighters like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. More: SimCity, Donkey Kong, Mario RPG, MartKart, Super Ninja Brothers... and millions more!n64 had Mario, Link, Mortal Kombat, 007 Goldeneye, MarioKart... many more, too.Playstation is probably the last ones... Smackdown vs Raw from day one on PS1.... and hopefully through PS3. Again, Final Fantasy series, I am still playing 12. I love Resident Evil and Onimusha. Need for Speed and Gran Turismo.... Sorry this post is so long, but this is what you get when you bring up great games.... and this is just like an idea of what was and is good.... This could go on forever.Have fun with your favorites!
  11. Wow, I am very impressed! I do like what I am seeing. I only looked at a few images from the posted link. I saw as far as the cool looking robot webcomic.... Nicely done.I also have Blender installed. I just don't know how to just up and start a project. It never seems like I have time to sit down and get started. Now I put my time into Photoshopping, and Dreamweaver. I am trying to even learn a little Flash... Now if I can get a handle on a lot of these, I will be set for life! Thanks for the the links, and it seems like anything really is possible... Using media programs to the extreme it seems.- skedad -
  12. Let me tell ya, nothing like trying to keep your grape cold. I guess that is the only thing you could put into a micro refrigerator!? I wouldn't know what else could go in one... maybe one egg. I think an egg would be too big...So like the really flat car, what good would having a microscopic fridge!!?? I do think that little guitar is really sweet, too. I have played guitar for years, but never with a laser. I may have to try that sometime. I just wander how you would place your fingers to make chords!?? Maybe it would be awesome as a lead guitar, so you could thrash out some power, scales!
  13. Goodness, what freeware don't I seem to use.I keep updating Mozilla Firefox browsers, too. I use a lot of graphics programs, that, to me was freeware. I have a lot of updated programs that were educational versions. This is stuff that needs subscriptions or even buying software, but were free to me.I don't know the next time I will have anymore freeware that is Adobe Photoshop CS, or even Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. These were all part of a package deal. I have the tutorial texts that went with my classes. I have a lot of freeware like firewalls, and antiviruses that were all free through educational packages.I used a lot of different Adwares and Spybots, but I just don't add them to my system anymore. I don't really 'surf' the net like I used to, so I go to tons of TRUSTED sites. And I have had a few viruses, but they were caught and deleted before it took any kind of affect.I do a lot of MP3 conversion programs, RIP from CD, and I am looking for audio recording software. I have animation software, and even used some form of financial programs. They were like hybrids of like Microsoft Money. So freeware is great, shareware gets a little complicated at times.I used to use Limewire, Bearshare, and even Napster at one point... oh yeah, they are basically illegal usage now... so I don't anymore.I will be googling everything I can to try to find and research anything good that can be used online, not cheap... but FREE!Have fun hunting! I know I will!- skedad -
  14. Man, that is just crazy to think about. These are definitely some ingenious concepts! I just saw Ironman the movie last night, and man that just seems to fit right alongside these inventions.I could definitely go for the virtual keyboard concept. I would just have to keep an area clean and clear. My son would so mess with that when I would be working on it! hahaThat is some cool stuff, too. I wonder what the price tag will be for such innovations.
  15. So it's the World's flattest car. That almost looks like it should be a go-cart. I just wonder why someone would put the money into developing something like that. Maybe someone really wants a compact car!?It almost looks like it has been run over by that tractor trailer. But I guess without kidding so much, it is pretty cool looking. I just don't know how efficient and more importantly how safe it would be.But anyways, that is quite the car... You could pack it up and put in the back of an SUV.
  16. I have noticed that XP was around for like forever and a few years. I have only now began to really start trying out Vista... and there is a Windows 7... but that is expected. When something comes out, the very next day the next best thing is in production... Guess that is why there are so many bugs out there.I guess it looks pretty good right now. I have only really played around a little in the last link posted above. I am thinking if something new comes to mind while in production, it will be added. But I think maybe Vista should be tweaked a few and have like updated versions... but maybe Bill Gates has different people on different tasks...
  17. There aren't huge upgrade additions that really make the newer ones any different... I think it is how they package it with other programs. I am thinking if you are trying to grab Photoshop, even illegally, I think you probably wouldn't care on either. If you are actually planning on paying for it, then I would start researching either price or the compatibility to how you want to use it. And it will be quite pricey. I was lucky enough to have an educational copy of Photoshop, or I would be looking for something cheap.
  18. Ok, so to alter a good racing series, with combat would be the Mario Kart series... If I had a Wii I would be all about that! I remember SNES started it, and I overkilled my 64 version... especially now after buying a 50in Plasma... and bringing out the old 64... Good stuff! No matter which mode, you can so lose a lot of time playing over and over, and even restarting fresh and winning the circuits so that you can get the reverse tracks.... ahhhh... good stuff... and I thought I would add that little comment...Oh, and there just may be more later...- skedad -
  19. Sports games... and Madden. I had Madden for PC, and I had Madden 64. I was loving my Pittsburgh Steelers hardcore back then, and they had all of the huge power players back then... It was awesome adding myself to the roster. Before that was SNES John Elway Quarterback... These are the football games I own... just haven't been serious about buying anything NFL or NCAA in a long time. I love to rent though...I do have Need for Speed. I love the racing games. I remember starting with Excitebike and then it moved to like Days of Thunder, and then into like Gran Turismo and the Need for Speed. I was playing around with Fallout when I was back in college. Nothing like linking 10 to 15 people playing on a LAN network. I did the same with Halo, but we are talking sports right now.I guess the real games that I have kept up with lately is WWE Smackdowns. I guess I am a fan.... I have played and owned them since the first Smackdown on PS1. I just like that each year you have something kind of new and tweaked rosters. They are just adding more realistic viewing... like you are really a part of the WWE enterprise. I love to multiplayer it all, just like in other sports, but you can do a little more with WWE than other sports.I like almost any kind of high action, and I love to multiplayer sports games. I think it was just as fun doing 2Player NFL and NCAA on 64, and I plan to buy a PS3 sometime soon... wonder what I can get into then.
  20. I have been using Norton Security. I have been using Norton Security for a few years now, because that was installed when I was in college classes. I was able to get a good deal with my subscription through an education plan. When I was working on other students' computers, I would probably put AVG Antivirus on their computers because I was able to customize it and, oh yeah, it was free.I was running Norton Security on my Acer laptop, but the subscription has run out. So it is just running updates, and I am really not doing much else. I will probably just load AVG again on this laptop... But I do a lot of reformatting, and then I find a deal on new antivirus subscriptions. That, and I have an old version of like Norton 2003 that I keep installing, and it is good for like a year or so.I have used McAfee when it used to run on my PCs, but I don't right now. I just don't have it on any PCs, only what was defaulted, which was Norton. I guess it is not as vast as Norton Security, but it still does its' job well. If it were already installed, it would be in use.So go with the free subscriptions, and then when they run out, either shell out a years worth of money, or go get free AVG, and there are others out there, but don't know how reliable.- skedad -
  21. The only real problem that I have had with Firefox at this moment is related to my website development. I am transferring text from Word to Dreamweaver, and the spacing is a little off in Firefox preview... I haven't really gotten into fixing it, but I don't think it will be that huge of an issue.I have not had a problem exist with Dreamweaver and Firefox, so it was probably a slight transfer issue... I do recall Frontpage and Firefox colliding when I began using Firefox many years ago... I wonder if they are a little more compatible now? Not that I am feeling too concerned, because I only use Dreamweaver now.Ok, that is all... Still a huge Firefox user/fan, and plan on staying that way for a while...- skedad -
  22. I am usually a stickler for space, myself. If there are any kind of files and images that I can try to put into Xisto, I will. But then there are older files and images that I have used in the past, and if it is still active, like on my previous sites, I will just link them from my other sites... I still have access to them all, and I will try not to waste good space that I can have for my Xisto site.I see there are so many other file sharing sites on the web, I would just hate getting set up with one, and it goes down... and then there would be gaps in my sites... but that is just me, and my stuff is still quite active on other servers and sites.- skedad -
  23. I am using Firefox 3, and the only difference at this time is that some of my themes are not compatible right now. And when they are upgraded, it is usually a visual change.I have heard about security issues, but I just haven't gotten into issues with that... at least not right now. I would think that Firefox 3 is like the others. Maybe I just don't see it on the surface, but so far, so good.So unless I am totally missing something, I will continue to use it like always... and if the upgrade and update comes along... I am sure I will keep on with it, too.I just know that Internet Explorer 7 keeps getting slower going for me... and Firefox is just plowing on through like ever before... Now that Safari.... always wants me to update... not really doing any of that.Firefox 4... ok if it is out, I'll do then! You just never know.- skedad -
  24. I don't personally use AlienWare products myself, but have had classmates almost sell me to buying them. But that was a few years ago, and this is the first I have even heard about them again. So like anything in the world, it could be true that they are faulty, and have many problems... I think anything does.I have heard it was newer technology with a really cool flair to it. I have seen a few things that my classmates had, and it was quite cutting edge. I am sorry to hear that it may not working well for others, but I think if I had a chance, I would probably try it out for myself.- skedad -
  25. It definitely seems different. I went ahead and checked out spacetime.com, and it played the demo of the browser and it's capabilities... and it is pretty cool.I guess it seems like a working scrolling thumbnail selector at the bottom of the browser using Vista techniques. I can see that moving from window to window is also as easy as using the window you are in and use the tabs to go back and forth. I do this with Firefox... and if I need to know which other window is open, I just use the bottom tabs on Vista... Right now I have Creator Classic, My Music folder, and Firefox running... by following my tabs. And I have Gmail, Xisto and the spacetime tabs open in Firefox... so I am set.I guess some of the outer uses of spacetime may be pretty interesting... like the search bar will find selections as images and windows other than a list of links, or even grids of image selections. And they are all running back and forth... I just wonder if you had different selections, if they would begin to get confusing...I can see that it could be fun and different, but I don't think if would be something I would be using all of the time... but then again, I really didn't even download it yet.. all I did was look at the video demonstration. Maybe, just maybe if I still feel interested... I might download it after I am done with my forum postings!Maybe if i had more to go by in the forum posting like user opinions, I may be swayed to try it.
