I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card sometime soon. I currently have a 256mb nvidia geforce 6600. The main question is buy a 7900gs or an 8800 series card I'm looking at the gigabyte 7900gs, because i have a gigabyte motherboard i'm guessing this would be better for compatibility. Anyways out of the 4 brands of 7900 my local store sells, the gigabyte is the most overclocked and feature packed. I can pick this one up for $235 australian dollars. Now, the 8800 has the cheapest prices as follows for each different mb version I'm leaning towards the cheaper 7900, but is it worth the extra cash for the 8800? Should i wait for the 8900? If anyone asks about looking at the ati series i've been using geforce cards since i got my first pc, i wouldn't change now because i'm very happy with the cards performance. Also while i'm on about graphics cards, if i plug a new card in, my current nvidia forceware drivers should detect it so i won't need to use the microsoft drivers first, right? Thanks -HellFire

I keep getting these error messages from the Xisto mail server Error from server: -ERR Maildir invalid (no 'cur' directory). Did you change your password? I've checked the mail folder via ftp and everything seems intact. Havn't changed any passwords, i've tried reentering the pop3 details but nothing. Thanks - HellFire

I suppose this new site might be an indication of what to expect in the latest version of the phpBB software. They are getting close to RC1 of their software (Release candidate one).It will be interesting how this newer version compares to payed for forum software and even other free ones.Anyways it's a well done and well needed overhaul of their site.-HellFire

I think because maybe because google maps wasn't meant to be used for overseas destinations. If the route hit an ocean it would just add in something like that, funny though.-HellFire

God i hate microsoft, two days ago they released the service pack for microsoft office 2003. Which was about a 90mb download. For a start i just LOVE the way they give priority to their updates (not), i was wondering why i was getting this wierd lag in my games. Won't it be nice if they can do something like steam that slows down the update if you are using the net.Anyways thats just one complaint....Next day i see the little windows update box and it's downloading an update, not one but 12 updates.. All relating to the service pack. Security update, security update. Can't they do it right the first time? I mean yeah sure its good that they can update and fix bugs quickly but it could've been avoided-HellFire

Style Xp Customize your Windows look
HellFire121 replied to Omkar™'s topic in Websites and Web Designing
Nice, i have used winblinds in the past but if i remember correctly it stuffed up something and i had to do a system restore, after that i've been trying to avoid these types of programs but i guess i might try this one, it's nice having a new theme for windows once in a while especially because you only have a very limited choice with the default onesNice themes on that site too, makes me want to get it more-HellFire -
Few things you could try, clear the cache or just keep refreshing the page until something shows up. Clearing the cache might or might not work. If clearing the cache doesn't work and the page doesn't seem to be getting anywhere best thing to do would be to just try again later, usually always fixes the problems.-HellFire

Ten Tips To Increase Your Windows Security
HellFire121 replied to soleimanian's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I would suggest ditching IE even if you are using IE7, get something like opera or firefox. Most of the time browsers other than IE work much faster and have more useful features, not to mention increased security. If i am doing any shopping online i'm always using an alternate browser. I only use IE for compatibility issues.Good top 10 though!-HellFire -
I'm A Little Lost: MapleStory Or RuneScape ?
HellFire121 replied to cassie1405241527's topic in Computer Gaming
Don't touch runescape, as simple as that. If it were a choice between those two definately maple story. If you have the cash though you'd be MUCH better off with guild wars or even better world of warcraft, if you play runescape it feels like the whole world and game is run by 5 year old kids that have nothing better to do than to scam and be annoying, see if you pay for these games it cuts out all the 5 year old noobs so you don't need to worry about it.Conclusion is maplestory or a paid for MMORPG-HellFire -
Yep it's also wasting ram and processing power on googles server end, what's the point in processing something that's useless?Anyways you should learn how to refine your searches to get the best possible result, what i usually do is put any keywords i think off that are related to the subject i am searching for. For example if i want to find a driver from nvidia that fixes some display issue, i might search for 'forceware artifact display issue' or something similar. It doesn't matter what order you put the keywords in and if you want a word to definately show up in the results prefix it with a +. For example '+forceware'. If you don't want a keyword to show up prefix it with a -.If you're searching for an error message or something include it in " and ". For example "Error 12345", it will search for the exact match of what you wrote.Hope it helps -HellFire

Damn that's nice, but personally i wouldn't need to use it. For free as well, looks like google have the money too. I guess this would help people that rely on their email alot and definately need that paper backup especially for free. Gmail is still going on the advertising method i see, putting ads on the physical copies but as usual they are unobtrusive. -HellFire

Heh thats pretty strange, i would have thought the pci slots are too small to let them pass through, whats amazing is that there are huge ammounts of roaches just in your pc, it's unbeleivable.Anyways, what i'd probably do is take it apart and give it a huge cleaning, or do what m^e suggested then take it apart to remove the dead roaches. Good luck -HellFire

Discussion About Blizzard Games
HellFire121 replied to KonVicKt's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yep they are the only series of games but within them there are quite a few different games.I think the best about blizzard would be the world of warcraft game, they are making a load of money over it and it is very fun to play, blizzard are currently making a real time strategy game based on world of warcaft, same world same characters but in a top down view.So i think that blizzard are just going to expand the world of warcraft series into something much bigger, we might even see a first person shooter come out, you never know-HellFire -
Yeah i've tried maplestory once but i wouldn't go back. If you are looking for a free online game like this i'd play knight online.I found maplestory to be pretty boring and basic, you could play for a few minutes but then you realise there are better games. It isn't bad for just the occasional play-HellFire

Add “open With Notepad” To Right-click Context Menu
HellFire121 replied to master_nero's topic in Security issues & Exploits
This is similar to what i use too, i use the open with menu. If i can remember correctly if you open that type of document in that program, it will appear on the menu ready for you to use next time. I choose this way also because you can have an easy choice of more than one program to open your document in.-HellFire -
Symantec: Windows Is Most Secure Os
HellFire121 replied to xboxrulz1405241485's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Windows would probably only be the most secure if it has a very effective security suite running. Otherwise it's an open target for anyone, take a look at linux or mac they hardly need this protection because very few viruses actually work on those OSes. But microsoft could've made their coding better and they need these frequent patches to patch up their mistakes. -HellFire -
I'm currently using norton internet security on this pc, it came free with my hardware so i thought why not. On my old pc i used to have nod32 and zonealarm but i am seriosuly considering changing it over to avg free. I've heard it does an excellent job keeping away viruses and removing them. I wouldn't trust a free program to defend my main pc though and norton is doing its job well.-HellFire

Firefox Inventing Its Own Html?
HellFire121 replied to Bảo Tuấn's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Do you still have other traces of that image on your server? I'd delete the image that shows up and double check the coding to make absolutely sure that there is no error. If it still doesn't work then it would probably be a .htaccess file or webserver configuration so you might want to check that too.Otherwise i've got no idea-HellFire -
I'd say that hackthissite.org is an online version of what you're describing, though hackthissite deals with webpage security. You can see how easy it is to gain access if you leave one tiny flaw in your coding. This is especially important if you are coding a major website or an important one such as your company's site. It is that easy for a hacker to gain access as you can see at hackthissite. If you take the time to code properly then you won't have trouble. This is similar to what you are doing, if you don't setup a network correctly you can practically say goodbye to your files and personal data as well as secret organization data.-HellFire

Newer Cpus, Are They Overkill?
HellFire121 replied to SilverFox1405241541's topic in Hardware Workshop
Well if software keeps moving forward you need the hardware to catch up. Imagine you have a huge high definition movie to convert or burn or something. Now this would take quite some time on a slower cpu because of the lower cycles a second, if you have a faster cpu then it is done quicker. Anyway to the point now, just say some new video format comes out that is better than high definition and gives one of the best quality pictures ever, you are definately going to need those cpu cycles unless you want to wait days or even weeks for it to process.More cpu speed also equals more multitasking (more so on quad and dual core)-HellFire -
I'd recommend getting a cheaper geforce 7 series card. There will be a price drop soon with the new 8 series cards. Then it should be simple, plug in the output of the video card to the input of the tv assuming that it supports that input type. If it doesn't you can look around and find quite a few input type converters, some types can't be converted but i'm sure most can. -HellFire
