With the exploration of mars we could be opening up new doors on how to solve problems here on earth. If people travel there one day what will they do on the long trip there? How about science experiments that might better life here on earth. Who knows maybe they will find the cure to some cancer or even HIV/AIDs on the trip there. As for updating the Shuttle fleet, you do have a good point there but on the same note, what about finishing off the International Space Station then set up a colony or 2 on the moon. The reason for the space station and moon base, a trip to mars cannot be physically launched from earth. The reason for this statement? A ship large enough to carry crew, life support equipment, food, water, etc. would be way to large to be launched from our planet and would have to be constructed in space. To be able to do this we will have to have a way to train/support a massive construction project in space.Lets go ahead and set the most basic ground work for a mars colonization/resource explotation project but lets not put the cart before the horse, even in a thread here...lets take it one step at a time.

I must say that even after all the debates I've seen around and playing both games that I still find myself playing Guildwars and have Uninstalled WoW for the last time I'll never install it again. I'm personally tired of the monthly fees for a game that is so full of bugs and a company that seems unwilling to take care of them while pumping in content just to "stay ahead of the game" and prove that they can out do the upstart company that dares to challange them on their own turf.Guildwars is the first of its type of game and from what I've heard it will definetly be around for a long time. More and more people are being drawn into it, and with its release of its much touted "Free Summer Game Play Update" on Sept. 7th they once again prove that they are dedicated to the hardcore PvPers as well as the RPGer. The world was expanded, new items/quests were added and the level difficulty was upped. Personally I can hardly wait till they release their first expansion and see what they do next.

Well on September 7th they released the latest update to the game adding in 2 new explorable areas, lots of new quest, both in the new areas and through out the whole world. They have also done massive balancing to the characters and are about to do some sort of major sponsoured tournament. If you haven't checked out the game now would be a great time to do so, the graphics are great, the gameplay is great, and their are plunty of guilds out there that can help ya out and get ya into the GvG/PvP scene.

I have always sworn by Norton personally. Their were a few versions that I just couldn't stand but I have been using Norton 2005 premier and yes you do have to have over 512 megs of ram but still with all the utilities that come with it I have to say that even with its resource hogging but I still find it to be one of the best antivirus programs I have used. But thats just my opinion.

Evolution Or God... How were we created?
Logan Deathbringer replied to Nemisis's topic in Science and Technology
To be a "Religious" person is not to say that you can't study, understand, and "believe" in science. To totally give up science and give in to religion totally you would become a fanatic and thus you would become a "cultist."Those that go to the extreme and say that creationism is true and evolution is false, or the other way around, are just unable to release their deeply ingrained religous indoctrination and afraid that everything that they have believed for years cannot be true. Now don't get me wrong I'm no expert on the subject but from what I've read, both in the cristian religon as well as the science I've studied, and the discussions I've had with friends and aquaintances and during these discussions/debates we came to the conclusion that has seemed to float around this thread. That "primative man" used religion to explain the world around him/her that their current "science" couldn't. As an example of this, and to pull away from modern religion, look at what we now call Greek Mythology, which at the time was a religion. They had a "God" to describe/explain why different things in nature and the world around them happened, then came along people like Socrates, Plato, and other such people and they started to use deductive reasoning to explain things, and such science was born. Now skip a few hundreds years forward and if you look at what we now take for granted as science and look at what happened when certain theories were first brought to the public their was much controversy. The whole problem here is that people have used Religon to control others, and as science threatens that control their is an attempt made to dispute the findings. Earlier civilizations made war in the name of their religion as a way to prove their religion was the true one and that their Deity/Deities was/were the real one/ones. Even today we have war in the name of Religon. Some may say that it has to be either science or religion...why can't it be both. Why can't it be that the universe was created in a big bang set off by some Deity that was playing marbles with their offspring. Then as man evolved the Deity communicated with the evolving civilization in an attempt to keep them from killing themselves and to point them in the correct direction and hope that doing so will save the fledgling civilization.Or you could surmise that we are just an experiment in a lab in a huge petri dish and to that scientist we are just a bunch of bacteria to be played with and experimented with. Or how about this, we are just someones dream or video game.My over simplification of everything is this, if you need religion to keep things in perspective thats cool for others its science but lets not force them to do battle any more then we should continue the battle over which religion is the true one and blood has to be spilled over a difference of opinion. The one thing that I find truely funny is that their are people out there that try to force science to meld with what their religion says happened.Well thats my 2 cents and 1 dollar rant...hope you find it amusing if nothing else. -
@Finaldesign:boarder on images that contain links? could you be more specific please I have looked at the site and cannot find what your are describing. Also what browser are you using to view it...I have checked it with IE and Firefox and don't see the boarder. Will look into the rest of your suggestions and comments with the roll out of the next major revision to the site. As soon as I can get a few of the scripts I'm using currently to work in Mombo I will be switching to it and the frames will be gone.

Well the only type of person that I can think of that would possibley be interested in something like that would be some poor, sex starved nerd working on a Masters Degree in Biology (of the male persuation) sitting behind a desk. (looks in mirror real quick) Nope not me I'm a techno-geek...not a nerd there is a difference...lol

Contextweb Pay Per Click (CPC) Program Review
Logan Deathbringer replied to OpaQue's topic in Online Advertising
not content rich...excuse me there is a lot of content here. Excellent tutorial on PHP, HTML, etc...Also lots of support for existing members and new members alike. I think they need to re-evaluate their system and the people that work for em. Since I'm sure they have really made a bad decision in their treatment of the Xisto family. After all if they treat our Hosts that way I for one will not be recommending them to anyone I know and who knows, other then myself, how many web designers that I know...Oh well thats just my opinion... -
I have, in the past, submitted my site to many of the larger Search engins such as google and without meta tags I didn't even get listed in even the most obscure ways that you can get listed...such as just typing in your site url. Once I put in meta descriptions and keywords and was crawled again I was listed, sort of-had to type in my url into the search box and got a list of my pages..lol. So I don't know if having meta tags did anything for me but from what I just described it would seem that they did.Just thought I would add my experiances here in hopes that they will help someone else in the future.

I don't know about nvu but I'm now using dreamweaver mx and although I have to download each page/frame set that I work with and then load it back to the server it doesn't bother me to much. Also I can download the complete site to my local machine do massive amounts of updates and what not then load the whole thing back up or any combination inbetweeen.

Oh I don't think that we will have total anarchy or a nightmare when the fossile fuel runs out, since just before the oil runs out I beleive that the alternative fuels and power sources will suddenly appear through amazing technical breakthroughs just in time to save us all.

ok yes, at this time, WoW has more content...but that won't last for much longer. GW launched small and is letting the community help develop the game into what they want in many different ways. We ask for something, and if its a large number of people wanting it and it isn't that hard to incorporate, or even if it is, the GW team seems more then willing to help incorporate it in one form or another. Also they give out new free content everynow and then. With the first Expansion coming out in the first half of next year and more free content to be launched shortly and all the PvP that happens and the constantly evolving team builds I'll be sticking with GW.

Welcome to Xisto Logan hope to see ya around. I'm sure you'll find a nitch here. I have a feeling that even the most of us here play games of one type or another, after all the game board here is quite active. After all even the most technical of us still need to break loose everynow and then.

Views On Blizzard game programmers
Logan Deathbringer replied to nighthawk16's topic in Computer Gaming
While I must admit most Bliz games have a awsome shelf life do to good depth of gameplay, great storylines, and greater then average replayablility their almost constant in ablility to release their games on their own set timelines will be their own downfall in my opinion. With newer game developers like NCSoft rolling out their own gameing networks to support their own games, just like bliz did years ago, and meeting their own release dates with games that are quickly updated and the players are truely encouraged to participate in the games development and evolution on multiple levels I think blizzard will have to step up or bow and fade into the fog of history. -
a 1 Terabyte drive for home computers....lol...thats insane. Think of all the spyware and malware that could be uploaded to a home computer at that point. Besides what would the average late night, websurfer do with that much data storage....hmmmmWarz, Warz, and more Warz?

Why Do Some People Mistreat Newbies ?
Logan Deathbringer replied to cyph3r's topic in General Discussion
"Grasshopper you must start at the bottom and climb the ladder..."As with anything in life we all have to admit, to ourselves first, that we know nothing. The problem with this is that some people take the wrong approch and take out their frustrations on others when they get the chance. By this I mean that when they feel in adiquit in one area they seek out someone to demorilise in an area that they know about to bolster their own ego.I've seen this happen more in the IT feild then almost anywhere else. The reaone I feel this happens more here, ie the IT feild, then anywhere else is that even the most simple of processes are hidden behind complex and obscure terminology. While if your "in the know" you can speak "IT geek", as my mom used to say, fluently most people can't.In our repectful feilds the higher you get, the harder it is at times to remember that not everyone will understand what you say. Whether we realize it or not we all do it, but those that seem to go out of their way, such as the post qouted at the begining, need to be brought to task IMO.Those that pray on the "NoobS" to raise their own self estime make the rest of us look bad when we do it unintentionaly.Well sorry for my long drawn out rant...I'll let someone else have their turn now... -
I have an idea that when the Fossil fuels get almost completly run dry the "eco friendly" fuels will suddenly become "widely available" almost overnight. The worlds car manufacturers as well as the major Power Companies have known for quite some time that they will need alternatives to the fossil fuels we currently use in large amounts do to the fact that they are not a reneuable resource. With the slow advent and of "geo friendly" cars and the fact that tech in other areas has grown faster then in the automobile industry, how can these techs not be crossing into the vehicles we drive faster? The answer to this is as stated in a previous post, the big oil companies don't want it out there in great numbers due to the fact that they would lose almost all of their income.I personally beleive that they are holding off till the last minute then they will flood the market with these "green tech" vehicles that they will some how have been able to by the patents to so as to maintain their strangle hold on the worlds energy markets.I must say though that this is all large leaps of fancy and a almost religous beleif in world wide conspirisies.

Any News On Starcraft 2, Or Diablo 3?
Logan Deathbringer replied to AbyssalStalker's topic in Computer Gaming
Ok as far as making D2 or D2:LoD hack proof...lol. The reason I'm laughing is that I decided to give it yet another try, even though I'm real into GW right now and guess what...even with the new patch they have already came out with a Town Portal hack that lets you instantly TP back to town Declare Hostility and keep your TP open and then PK everyone... OK so they banned 200,000 IPs and Deleted their accounts big deal they should have done it along time ago.As for SC2 I don't see it ever happening. The reason for this is that all though they want to revisit it on the PC they have gott'n so into the RPG style of gameplay with WoW they might make a RPG of SC but didn't they just do that with Ghost? As far as D3, nope it won't happen either unless it goes full MMORPG like WarCraft did. If they do that then maybe I'll play it but I doubt it. Blizzard is just too little to late on the anti hack front. Even with all the Pay to Play's that NCSoft has they still give Uber Support to their Free to play. If they keep this up I can actually see GW taking WoW and the rest and showing them how it should be done.SC and D2 are dead, I would honestly see them come back but I have a feeling that they are gonna go the way of other great games and we will visit them once in awhile when we are feeling nostalgic. -

don't delete her posts that will lose you her as member, and possibly others if not just start a full flame war. Just start a New Board with multiple stickied topics for all of the clubs at your school then let people post as they will. The nice thing about forums is that they can always grow and evolve. -
Having Problems Setting Up A Home Network
Logan Deathbringer replied to the_furious1's topic in Computer Networks
Yordan, I think, has hit this one on the bulls eye. If your trying to access files on another computer on your network then you will have to have a specific file/folder set to allow sharing. Although if you haven't made sure that your routher has a built in firewall and that it is properly set up I personally would be very carefull abou sharing even over my own network. I would make sure that the files I want to share are on their own partition/drive and that only a single folder was setup for access. Though I'm a bit paranoid about people getting access to any personal information."Just because your paranoid doesn't mean the bastards aren't out to get ya."Just a bit of humor, bad though it might be. Hope I helped ya out. -
Any News On Starcraft 2, Or Diablo 3?
Logan Deathbringer replied to AbyssalStalker's topic in Computer Gaming
Blizzard has already said that there will probably never be a SC2 or D3. I think the main reason for this is that the main creators of these games left and made NCSoft and Arena.net.I used to be an avid Blizzard/Battle.net supporter till the last 2 years when they kept saying "we will deal with hackers harshly" and never really did and they just couldn't seem to keep their gaming network up with any real regularity there for quite a while, and the fact that they "support" SC/BW and D2/D2:LoD yet it takes over 3 months for me to get any type of response from them on the fact that 2 accounts I had got hacked, and their response basicly was "sorry!"I'll never go back and play another Bliz game its NCSoft/Arena.net for me now. -

As it is your forums I would say that its your right to say, within reason of course always must be polite to our posters, what can and can not be posted on your forums. What I would suggest though is start a new "School Clubs" board with subforums for each different club individually: School Clubs -DECA -4H -Chess club -etc That way you get the order you want, yet she can still have her posting area. -
Not to sure about your idea Yordan but will look into it. I've designed the site and tested to be as W3C compliant as possible, though the frame code isn't, and will see if I can come up with a way to delay the loading of the music first. Well I'll keep trying to keep the site as upto date as possible but I've been spending a lot of time studying SAN technology and Linux stuff recently will work on your ideas but I can't please everyone and the guild it was designed for, being the "customers" in this case, are quite pleased with it. With the bandwidth, disk space, and time restraints I am working with I try to keep everything as lean as possible. As always thanks to everyone for the reviews

Linux Server & Cpanel Alternatives ?
Logan Deathbringer replied to watotron's topic in Websites and Web Designing
What about SuSE isn't it a good, stable, fast distro of Linux? I've heard a lot of people mention it, and the job I'm going out for wants to switch from Redhat to SuSE do to licensing issues but other then that I'm not to familar with Linux. I'm sad to admit that but I'm not, shame on me, I'm having to give myself a crash course in it.
