  1. Emulators not only allow you to reply old games you own, but they allow you to get some games that arn't easily come by anymore (as well as letting your older system have less wear on it if you hope to keep it working for time to come). I know I have some cd backups somewhere of hundreds of snes/genesis roms, I hope to get a nice MAME collection going eventually. I know I -had- a bigger set of snes/genesis titles but I lost alot of them in a hard drive crash, along with my nes roms. I'll need to start collecting again but it is harder now. Luckily once in awhile I stumble onto a torrent of a colelction of roms which makes it easy to pull a huge amount down at once.
  2. Well done... I give it an A+++ cause I'm feeling generous today :Dbut yea seriously its a cool piece, well done indeed
  3. CSS takes some getting used to but it's awesome once you get a grasp on it. The tutorials mentioned are ones I used and they helped alot. Admittedly I havn't learned a huge amount about CSS yet but I know the basics and can handle myself in a .css file. Regardless it's an awesome addition to a webpage, makes alot of thigns much easier.to solanky - using css OR html you can make pages that resize automatically... If you use percentages (%) instead of width values (px or whatnot) then objects will be displayed as a certain portion of the screen and everything will stay proprotional despite the screen resolution or browser size. Well my site seems to resize somewhat upon browser resizeing so I'm not sure it works perfectly... but I probably just left a couple absolute sizes defined or something. I'd suggest trying out percentage values for width and stuff and see what happens. I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will correct me soon enough
  4. I can't think of any truly horrible endings right now for some reason but I know they are out their haha. Frankly a *BLEEP* end boss doesn't constitute a bad ending for me since the majority of end bosses are *BLEEP* now...I only care if they leave big parts of the storyline unanswered (meaning unintentionally unanswered... if its a cliffhanger type ending like HL2's then I'm all for it, but if they try to tie **** up but leave huge gaps still...then it just annoys me cause its like they THINK they answered all the questions but in reality only made more)
  5. First... I must say http://www.cad-comic.com/?t=archives&date=2005-08-08 secondly, I must add that jack thompson is a little ***** aaaaand finally... I think his argument is that the ESRB doesn't answer to anyone, and as such they have no reason to be required to be accurate. He says they allow games to sneak in at the M rating so they dont have the "kiss of death" that is an AO rating since they wont have to answer to anyone if they are wrong. Frankly his base arguments all are in the same ballpark as a logical thought... but past that he just goes on rants about incorrect pieces of information and makes claims that are rediculous at best. He needs to start looking for the real problems with society and stop trying to pump up his/H Clinton's campaigns by adding the controversy that is the "War on videogames".
  6. NASA would be developing new planes and whatnot, but not necessarily by a military protected top secret facility. Ever since I've seen pictures of the "Do Not Tresspass. You will be shot on sight" signs on the border of the area 51 land I've always thought it was just a fake facility set up doing basic research but with insane security and top secret-osity so that people focus on it and don't hunt for the "true" government top secret research locals...or MAYBE I'm rambling and just made that up off the top of my head...or I'm an alien trying to brain wash you...ha!Ok actually I just agree that area 51 is a top secret navy research facility... but I must say to the "What is the navy doing in the desert" comment... you DO realize that the navy isn't ONLY in the water and the air force isn't always in the air and the army isn't always on land right?...
  7. I love the idea of clean burning fuel ideas for cars... I just hope eventually they actually catch on and get powerful enough and saturate the market enough to force the general populace to start moving over to them. Without some of the big gas guzzling countries making a hard push for e-cars, they will have trouble making a difference
  8. OMG hahaha that site is awesome. Good times at work My boss walks over and asks me what I'm doing so he looks at it...then grabs the addy and goes to mess around with it haha.
  9. Hmmm, I'll have to try this out tonight when I get home after work. Good stuff
  10. While I havn't heard that area 51 was expected to be a halo killer... and I havn't played Area 51... uh... it's not a halo killer. If anything dominates the Xbox FPS fanbase in place of halo/halo 2 it will be big news. Area 51 kind of came and went without much notice
  11. oh COME ON, the only way to access the content is by illegally modifying the content you purchased. While the AO rating is reasonable they do NOT deserve it. Hell, if the only way to see it is by DOWNLOADING A FILE AND RUNNING IT, that obviously means you want to see the content. Now, if you want to see illegal porn content in a game, you are just as apt to download a freakin actual porn movie, so I don't see why this is such a big deal. It's easier to get porn online then it is to download an install a mod so you can go into a game and see some retarded pixel boobies. Seriously people are so demented about sexuality nowadays its frightening. We should make everyone walk around naked for a few days and then maybe they'll realise that if kids see naked people they arn't going to die or something.
  12. There are alot of games that are 2-3+ gigs so 5 is big but not unexpected, they're gonna keep getting bigger if you keep expecting flashier graphics lol. But yea I cant wait to get my hands on the demo and try it out, I need to add some fear into my life weeee.
  13. The responses he's made to emails I've read about were pathetic at best. If they weren't form letters which were insulting and lacking intellectual content (even ignoring how they rarely touched on the content of the mail to which they were replying) he would reply in such a fashion that often insulted the sender, or simply exclaimed how he would "destory the gaming industry" or that the writer should "give up feeble attempts at harassing him". The guy should be poked in the eye with a trout...or something of equal punishment value
  14. Sims 2 could be equally as bad...in theory...because our tard of a culture seems to think sex is worse then violence...so once you can have sex in both and see things (OMG) then the violence is irrelevant beause some boobies are flying. *shakes head in annoyance at the idiots of the world*
  15. Yea sum41 is pretty awesome. I don't like Avril's music but heard she was amazing live...who knows. I heard a cover she did that I really liked too...but her actual music isn't anything I enjoy. Frankly Avril and Sum41 are both "pop-punk" for lack of a better term, although Avril takes the pop alot farther then Sum41. Either way... their relationship is meaningless to me as there music doesn't change based on their coupling haha.
  16. The only problem with this crack is it was a retarded oversight, they'll have a fix shortly I assume (I mean...just change how the JScript works...) Hell a temp fix would be just to mess with the variable name... so yea I assume M$ will have this "fixed" shortly, although I hope they are dumb and don't haha
  17. I'm not overly excited about this one. Sure it'll be good for the few things I use IE for, but I'll be sticking with my non-IE browsers until I have a solid reason to switch back to IE
  18. They also stripped out almost every feature I was actually looking forward too excluding security updates... I mean pretty graphics are good and all but I'm still not sold on whether or not it'll actually be an upgrade I care about.
  19. if you got a defragger that can work on boot before windows loads I'm sure it could fix that...since it woudl then be not in use...assumedly...maybe....probably...yea
  20. Sun 41 isn't punk... just felt I needed to say that
  21. put java script:void(window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all') in the addy barhit enterno more validation...gotta love slashdot haha. But yea apparently they broke past the validation within 24...haha
  22. Hmm, while I'm unsure of the ways to alter this, I know my "non moveable sector" has always been slightly skewed and I've never noticed any problems with my systems performance or stability so I don't imagine it is that big of an issue.
  23. This Jack Thomspon guy looks like more of a douche bag the more of his material you read. He has an obviously personal vendetta against the gaming industry (*cough money and power with Hillary Clinton's campaign COUGH*) and he is simply lacking anything of substantiality. There are numerous sites with his replies to emails that ppl sent him. Now, understandably he would reply with form letters as I'm sure he gets his share of hate mail recently, but some of them are ludacris, especially for a lawyer to say. Comparing gamers to Saddam Hussein, saying he's going to destory gaming... it's all rediculous.I don't think he's clued in that IF he somehow destroyed the gaming industry, the world's economy would be temporarly in chaos since it IS the largest entertainment industry currently. Economies don't like randomly dropping that big of a cash flow :|But yes, to sum it up, he pisses me off more then anyone has in a long time. Not because he hates videogames, or is fighting against them, but because he is that idiotic that his arguments falter at a moments glance.Oh, and now theres a (72? year old) woman trying to sue Take-Two because she gave her FOURTEEN year old grandson GTA San Andreas... hope she gets laughed out of court for not reading the 17+ warning on it. The whole anti-game stupidity the last couple weeks has me ranting more then I can handle.. I'm break it off here. I'll probably ramble more about stupid things I've read later and throw up some links to "interesting" or "annoying" articles haha
  24. I'm hoping my copy doesn't get caught since its pro corporate and those keys all get used widely legally so... *crosses fingers* but either way all that happens is they are planning to shut down your ability to update and give you offers to buy a legal copy more cheaply, which in reality is good of them I guess.Either way if you care enough you can get the updates without going thru windows updates, just find people who have posted or seeded or whatever the hotfix patches.
  25. That man is an idiot to extremes of which I can't put into words. I've been reading alot of info on him lately and I don't see how he hasn't been laughed into submission. I'm fine with people having opinons against gaming, I'm fine with them fighting for the ESRB to be enforced, hell it'd be a good thing to enforce ESRB ratings and maybe even tweak them some. Thats not the point. I just hate it when ****tards like this guy go about spoutting random "facts" that are no where near accurate. When they do their homework and are coherent and sound educated, I'll let them speak and diss gaming till the sun goes down. But if they are just going to ***** about violence in gaming, say it makes everyone kill everyone, and back it up with incorrect pieces of info and try to sound educated when its obvious they were lucky o make it out of grade school, then I'd rather see them removed from whatever position gave them a 'voice' to the masses.
