Yea I know, my roomates moving out and taking his 360 with him before then so I'll need to find a way to buy a new one for that haha. Looks amazing, they're finally bring the GTA world into a realistic looking place. Should get Jack Thompson up in arms again too which is always entertaining Some set of people are already mad that, apparently, Liberty City "now" looks like NYC. Shocka! But yea, looks amazing, I can't wait.

Haha true, I was thinking it might have a cool community boosting feel to have an app designed by a regular forum goer on the site itself But yea, I'm sure they would have access to some things allowing a bit more efficient system. -

Wow, I really like it, checking out the new changes now. And don't worry I didn't hold it against it that I wasn't on it, was just curious which method you were making use of But yes the technology is very cool indeed. once you get it to a stage where you feel it is "complete" (I know we all have different stages of development that we feel our own creations are done heh) you could probably show it to M^E or OpaQue and see if they're interested in throwing it somewhere on the site. It'd be a cool feature to have especially for new prospective users interested in seeing what Xisto offers thus far.Again, great idea and great job. -

Style Xp Customize your Windows look
Jeigh1405241495 replied to Omkar™'s topic in Websites and Web Designing
I had used stylexp a couple years ago and, while it was nice, it lacked the whole "no resources" option and had a lot of buggy features. I just reinstalled it however and it seems they have made some interesting advances. First thing I noticed (which worried me a bit) was the interface hadn't changed minus a couple new option buttons. Luckily once I got going it seemed a lot more stable, a LOT more stable. I quickly found some nice looking themes on websites it directed me to, and now have my login screen, general theme, icons, cursors, etc changed. While the transparencies are buggy on my system everything else looks great and runs great in no resource using mode. So it seems to be pretty solid.I'd reccommend it to people who enjoy playing with the look and feel of their system without drastic measures being taken. -
Gothic 3 Oblivions got nothin on this
Jeigh1405241495 replied to Killer008r's topic in Computer Gaming
I've actually heard less then great things about gothic 3 from playability to graphics. I've heard the graphics are on par or lesser then oblivion and the playability is shot due to various annoyances. I don't know specifics and haven't played it myself, but it seems reviews on some common sites also point to potential problems with G3 Again, I haven't played it myself so this isn't a first person account, just thought I'd throw that out there for what its worth. -
Which Operating System Is Better? Its a poll
Jeigh1405241495 replied to swinkid's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I have to fall into the linux boat as well. While I use my computer in windows xp more then linux, and use the windows comps at school more often then linux, the time I spend on linux is always more enjoyable to me then windows. Frankly I spend time in windows more only because certain applications I use for my studies are very unreliable at best when run under a linux environment but for everyday use (web browsing, text editing, emails, music, video, etc) linux is just a smoother experience. Add in that its free and can look almost, if not as, cool as vista and you have a winner.Personally I use Ubuntu currently for linux. Easy, quick, and flexible. Basically its got all the pros and very few cons. I haven't used Vista much but it doesn't seem to offer enough to warrant the change and price tag. -
I know at my university, or at least in one building there, gmail and google have been hideously flakey the last 3-4 weeks. The internet would be working fine but upon trying to access either google primary or gmail itself it would often time out without warning. Since I forward all my emails into my gmail account you can imagine this is a pain in the butt.Basically all I've done about it is be patient, trying to reload the page every minute or so usually it works after 3-5 tries. Obviously these could be unrelated issues but google has, in the past, been very very reliable so I would say just be patient and keep trying.

Yea it was fully programmable and had the alignment test. I used that gamepad for emulators for yeeeears. The only thing that finally wore out on it for me was the analog stick I used primarily. It didn't even wear out so much as got "loose" and sort of never snapped fully back to center justification, just sort of always stayed leaning slightly. This wasn't really an issue 99% of the time as it still snapped back to within the area that counter as center so it wasn't like randomly going in the wrong direction, but still felt a little odd while playing on it. However, like a playstation gamepad, there is the digital diagonal pad if that did bother you, plus it didn't wear out for about 2 years of substantial use so really its not an issue, especially seeing as those game pads were only about 20-30 bucks back when I got it, so if they are still kicking around I would imagine they are dirt cheap.

Google's Annual April Fools Pranks
Jeigh1405241495 replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Hahahaha I love April Fools jokes online. It sucked that it was on a Sunday this year as I seem to have missed a lot of them, and a lot of the sites that normally do them that are not updated on weekends seemed to just skip it this year... But yea regardless the google ones were killer haha. I saw a few others but forget the sites they were on, if they pop into my head I'll post the links.Oh collegehumor.com had a splash page up that was one of those domain expired for sale pages haha. I mean I knew it wasn't true but I thought it was witty so that was nice. I still don't think any will replace "I heart ponies!!!111 LOL!!!11ONE!!" from slashdot last year(two years ago? whenever) in my heart though. -
Graphic I Made For My Site! =DD
Jeigh1405241495 replied to AUSTiiN262's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Looks very nice, especially for a first try I like the images you used and the blending and color choices and levels, all just feels really solid. My only suggestion would be to make the text different, while the font is fine maybe make it a little larger or sharpen the edges up a bit. As it stands there it seems like the words are almost about to flicker out, personally I like anything I'm expected to read to be able to be read at a glance. This isn't to say to make the words huge and ugly, just make it slightly more contrasted and sharp. -
I remember I used to have this game pad called an "axispad" that was designed EXACTLY like the Playstation pads. I'm talking it looked like when other companies released playstation game pads, this would be what they'd release, except it was for the pc.Past that I know logitech has always made top end peripherals, I've never used one of their...well... anything that I didn't enjoy. So I'd recommend checking what they have to offer.Really as long as you dont cheap out on it, it's not hard to find a high quality gamepad nowadays.

I'm Christian (Catholic) and have a lot of reasons to believe. I will not argue that the majority of why I ever believed to begin with was because of my family. They told me what was "right", took me to church, all that. I'm not stupid enough to think I would, guaranteed, still be Christian if my family hadn't been. However, I'm glad they were as the teachings just make sense to me. So I believe because for one, it feels right. Further I believe because the idea that we are here with absolutely no purpose, then die and its over, seems hollow and empty to me.Also I feel we owe religion the respect it has earned. Religion has molded society greatly as far as laws and general beliefs are concerned. Not in all ways but to a very large degree and personally I think the world could have ended up a much worse place without its influence. As far as what you say about only believing what can be proven... well to that I simply say that scientists have dis-proven many things that had been proven in the past, so I'd rather have faith then blindly follow "fact" based science since it isn't quite as infallible as scientists hope we think :ph34r:If this takes off I'll comment more later if I have time, this is just a quick spewing of thoughts to start things off.

39 Megapixel Camera: Is It Worth Is?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to DAC1138's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Yea that's the kind of example I was thinking of, just wanting to be able to go straight from photo's to MASSIVE printouts for commercial purposes. I couldn't think of any off the top of my head but that would make sense, the more MP you get the bigger you can blow it up easily. Seems simple enough ;)Oh, and I'm pretty sure they don't intend this camera to be used by the average users, since it's going to be so expensive and it is, as you said, and odd form factor. They know its going to be for specialty use so there isn't a real need to make it pretty. -
39 Megapixel Camera: Is It Worth Is?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to DAC1138's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I assume there are pretty understandable uses for it... I mean... I don't have a clue in heck what they would be. but people need insanely detailed images of things, I'm sure, and this would be useful in that context :| haha I don't know, wait until they hit the market and see if any news articles disucss it maybe... -
Mortal Kombat Vs Tekken Help me decide..
Jeigh1405241495 replied to DaEmOnFiRe's topic in Computer Gaming
I personally don't see any way that mortal kombat could hold a candle to tekken. I mean, sure mortal kombat was an amazing series especially when it first came out, don't get me wrong. But the more recent games have barely been worth playing, and even the old ones often simply added new characters and nothing more between iterations.Personally tekken seems to actually rely a tad bit more on skill then just button mashing that MK seems to love. That is enough right there for me to prefer Tekken but overall I prefer almost everything technically about Tekken. Again, not to say MK is far behind just that in a win/lose scenario I say Tekken beats MK on most marks. The only one I'd agree with was the comment on the characters as the tekken set tries to keep it more contained while the MK universe is obviously much more far out. That falls to a personal preference but I guess I'd give that to MK.So yes, both series have been wonderful and have contributed lots to fighting games overall, but my vote would go for the tekken series. -
Sometimes when buying new games you stumble upon hidden gems. That's what happened to me lately. I'm home for Christmas break so grabbed the ps2 and hit a store before coming home in order to get a few games to kill time (my home is a tiny town, nothing to do, you get the idea). Anyways I grabbed Resident Evil 4 and Shadow of the Colossus. I figured those along with FF12 would keep me more then satisfied. Luckily FF12 is a great game and RE4 blew me away, how SotC was the question mark, I wasn't sure exactly what I would think of it as I had heard it got good reviews but that was about it. Past that I knew not what I was getting myself into. The first thing you notice in SotC is the art design. Frankly the game is stunning. The animation is fluid, the graphics rich (great for PS2, they could easily re-texture it for a newer system and it would be gorgeous), and the lighting surprisingly nice. The next thing you quickly realize once playing the game is that it's not your average adventure or fighter game. The best way I can explain it would be to say its a... puzzle-fighting game. The game (mostly) consists of numerous boss battles against the colossi, ginormous beasts that wander the world in the game. Early in the story you learn you must defeat them all to achieve a goal (won't spoil the story for you) but whats interesting is, right off the bat, you are told beating the colossi MAY achieve what you want. Maybe. Not necessarily. But maybe. I LOVED this, not sure why. I think it does a good job of pulling you into the characters desperation. Basically saying "Here, do this insanely intense, possibly impossible, life risking task and you might get what you want. Or it might all be in vain. One of those."As far as the battles themselves are concerned, you literally have to CLIMB these beasts and stab their weak points, sometimes obvious sometimes not, while avoiding being thrown off, crushed, etc. As you progress they require more thinking to figure out the trick to them and each beast is impressive in its own right. The game is not one that will appeal to everyone. It is not an action packed shooter or a true brainiac puzzler, but a hybrid that is a work of art. Its only 20 bucks new as a "Greatest Hits" title so for anyone like me still trying to get their money's worth out of their PS2's I highly recommend it.

A Better Way Of Recording MSN Webcam Streams
Jeigh1405241495 replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Software
As with the others and yourself M^E I looked for something like this many times. Cam Studio that you mentioned was actually what I finally settled for but it has huge file sizes and crappy encoding, plus if you are doing things in the interim during a convo you get lots of things popping up in front of the video. I have tons of video chats with people I know that are now in other countries so it'd be nice to be able to library some of the conversations for when I don't get to see them for a longer period to lessen the feelings of missing them. Many thanks for this find I'll have to try it out soon. -
The Best Browser For General Use List of browsers for PC computers.
Jeigh1405241495 replied to sparkx's topic in Software
I like opera and firefox, but firefox gets my vote as my favorite for everyday stuff. Basically the extensions win me over heh. Both have alot to offer but I just prefer the general feel of firefox more, but that alone wouldn't be enough to sway me so the extensions finish that job. With tons of support for developers and the like the extensions simply give me features I never expected to be built into the browser while I can avoid the extraneous features I would never use.I'd never say anything bad about either as they are both pretty dang solid. I haven't used netscape enough to fully judge it but what I have seen I wasn't a huge fan, not sure why. IE...well... yea that speaks for itself. haha. -
Anyone Tried Photoshop CS3?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to Grafitti's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Hm, haven't tried it, but once I get back to my apartment so I have the high speed connection back (*sigh*) I'll have to try that out. Any word on when the final release will be? I love CS2 but if this one loads better and has nicer tool bars I am all about that. I love GUI enhancements and any added perkiness, especially on load times, is always welcome. -
Haha unfortunately almost every game I've ever thought "I hope they never actually amke that" has indeed been made haha. I guess I'm glad they haven't made a student simulator... where you win by taking notes as a boring prof drones on...but yea, I'm too unoriginal to list three right now haha

Sharing Music Online To what extent is it legal?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to pyost's topic in Websites and Web Designing
You can probably find a legal group in your area that would be able to provide the answer for you, or hit up one of the bigger non-profit organizations that work in technology legal fields and ask them. As twitch said, the legalities around providing links are a gray area but there are tonnes of sites that do this. On the other hand providing any music created and owned by other artists is probably going too far. -
I haven't played it but I mean its not intended to be a top tier sports game. As you mentioned its FREE! The fact that any console has a free game of any caliber anyone is rare enough as it is. Add in the fact that its a fun little thing to test out the system and play with friends and I see no problems whatsoever. Obviously if you want a true experience in one particular sport you'll invest in a game dedicated to the sport in question but as far as a started for the Wii I see nothing wrong with a basic little sports pack. Kudos to Nintendo.

Notpr0n Fun an addicting game for web savvy individuals.
Jeigh1405241495 replied to Kardus's topic in Computer Gaming
Oh dear lord no..no... you cant mention this around me :|I became so obsessed with that stupid game last year hahaha. My roomate and myself played for like 4 days straight going insane about the problems, we were calling each other during classes to get the one at home to try things it was rediculous haha. Got pretty far and never cheated once which was a nice but yea, took way too much time away from me hahaha. If you like puzzle games notpr0n is a MUST, especially if you have some general computer know-how...which assumedly most of you do. -
I've only ever heard of ASCII pronounced as "*bottom*-key" when spoken verbally. I never found it offensive sounding since lots of words have "*bottom*" in them without being offensive (assignment for example... well they are offensive often but not because of "*bottom*" being in the name hehe)
