  1. There is supposedly a legal document that says that anything created by someone on the computer is automatically © copyrighted to them. Therefore, if he uses it without your permission, technically you could threaten a law suit.
  2. I couldn't really give you a website address or anything concrete that you could look at, but I can give some of the techniques that I used. Well, the original wasn't even mine, but the guy wanted more detail and provided photos of Marine uniforms. Basically, you must know the program inside and out. I used Photoshop. From the original to the Marine version, I used Hue and Saturation to change the color of his pants and jacket and then used the pen tool to create a path that was the same contour of his pant line down his leg. Then I clicked the paint brush tool, grabbed a nice red color and a good brush size and hit Enter. That puts a stroke along the path with the selected tool's settings. A good thing to make use of is layers. Sometimes, like with the hats, you have to change the original. To recreate the outline of the cratoon, I used the paint brush, color black, and matched up the mouse cursor preview circle's diameter with the width of the original outline. For parts like his thighs where his jacket had covered in the 2nd version, I used the lasso tool (Polygon is most versatile, at least in my opinion) and did Layer via Copy, to duplicate the section selected as a new layer. Then I distorted and transformed the new layer so that it matched the contour of his leg and so that the shadowed and lit halves of the leg matched up. For the hat, I got a picture of a Marine had and outlined it and painted it white and grey-white. I did the same with the hands to make them gloves, lighted parts pure white and shadows grey-white. If you have any questions about a specific change, just ask and I'll follow up.
  3. Well, ya there's OS emu's out there. So I suppose if you could find a Dos one or a Windows one you could do that I was thinking about trying a Mac emu since Macs have some good software, so my brother tells me, that they use in his TV Studio class.
  4. I've gotten into emulators a bit latley. They're nice. I found a program called Console Classix that is a paying program that you can download and install, I'm fairly certain it's spyware/adware free (I have Spybot S&D and Adaware plus 1 or 2 others). But, the thing is, it's really just a program that bundles a few console emulators together. So, in the source files, you can find the individual emulators. I like Gundam Wing: Endless Duel on Gensis. It's so awesome, such fast gameplay. Also played Super Mario Bros 3, classic, on NES. Well, that's all for now. Anyone know any good rom sites? A lot of the ones I went to tried to make you vote on... some pretty racey japanese sites... *hint* just to get in. I think Romnation was pretty good though.
  5. I don't like screen savers.1. They don't save energy... the whole idea of sleep mode.2. The only time it works is when the computer is idle... i.e. when you're not there to see the screensaver...
  6. I like it. The quality is good and you also have the non-square effect without any of those torn pixels on the border. Very good. And a fairly reasonable file size as well. Good job.
  7. Original Version 1 Version 2 Any thoughts on this?
  8. Two Points of Criticism:The scrolling date is unreadable. It should be a mild-light grey or just plain white. The flash buttons only work if you get the whole text part, rather than the whole area of the button. Also, the sound loops and loops and loops if you hold the mouse on the button. Gets kind of annoying.
  9. Thanks a lot mate Worked perfectly. Thanks again.
  10. Check out these cool ASCII art converters: Color image and good detail - http://www.lunatic.no/ol/img2aschtml.php Text - http://www.network-science.de/ascii/ They're so awesome, I love them http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  11. I'm trying to make a batch that displays this ASCII text with echo, but it gives me an error. Here is the script I have: I've highlighted the trouble spot in red. Is there any way around this? I would appreciate some help on this You can save this to a .bat for yourself and see the error, just run in through cmd so it doesn't exit right away and you'll see the error. My friend said it was the slashes on the one line, but if it's echo, it should be like a comment, just displayed; or at least in my world it would be Again, help appreciated.

  13. Well, I'm wondering how one uses telnet through a proxy. I would not like to get into details, I just want to know how Thanks.
  14. If you search Google for myg0t, there's a lot of phpBB boards the cracked that must have had the default password or something LOL
  15. I liked it, but the servers were really laggy. Most servers weren't good and I would get the connection interupted message for a while, but if you could find a good server it was nice. I liked the objectives system, like in the train car map with the big gun. There was always a nice battle by the track switch and on the small train car that you had to drive.
  16. I used the pen tool in Illustrator, which is a little different than the pen in Photoshop. I drew out the contours of the shape, say the earbud, and then the path is a shape and you can adjust the stroke and fill. So, I made no stroke and a colored fill and that was it. It may seem easy, but it's not so. It can be hard to get the colors right because sometimes the colors run together in the original photo, which is where gradients come in, which are also different than in Photoshop. But that's for later
  17. Eh... this is all my work... cept the original photo of the iPod that is. Hope no one's stealing my work :S
  18. Well, I did this just a little bit ago with the iPod photo, off the website. I pretty much just traced the image, but I did all the colors myself. Constructive criticism appreciated.
  19. Ya, I think it's pretty nice too. Good job, but isn't it a little bit late?? LOL
  20. That's fascinating, but it gives me a headache trying to read it sort of. Here's something I found: Hlelo, my nmae is Mkie and I hvae dsoecvreid tihs ncie wrod jbemlur. Isn't it naet how you can sltil raed tihs wtih a fiar amonmut of esae? It knid of gievs me a hadcehae toughh. Hello, my name is Mike and I have discovered this nice word jumbler. Isn't it neat how you can still read this with a fair ammount of ease? It kind of gives me a headache though. http://www.stevesachs.com/jumbler.cgi http://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/personal/matt.davis/Cmabrigde/
  21. Downloaded 2.4 while at school today. I don't like some of the adjustments though, like the new weapons select screen and stuff, and the text is so small, sound is so soft too... Oh well, some of the stuff seems nice, but I'm a WCSE specialist all the way
  22. I've never been able to go from Photoshop to Flash without losing something of the visual effect that I wanted. I think this will help. I'm glad and can't wait till they put out something to help with this.
  23. That doesn't make sense to me. You're saying you LIKE to be vulnerable?? You're saying you LIKE to have your taskbar clogged?? I don't use FF just because it's non-Microsoft, I use it because of it's shiny, detailed features that IE lacks. It has beauty AND style.
  24. Today, my friend, who almost never messages me, sent me a message saying "look at my pictures" Now, my computer-whiz friend is always joking about things like this, saying, "Hey, check out my cool pictures from the beach." So, I was sort of cautious. I sent him a message back saying, ".pif?? What is that??" And I started to Google it, but I decided to open it anyway since he wasn't responding. So, it was supposed to message everyone on my buddy list, but I don't think it did. Just in case, I messaged everyone and said, "Don't open anything I send you." And then I started running scans. I also shut down MSN Messenger and AIM. But when I ran HijackThis, it came up with a running process that looked a little out of place. It was D:\WINDOWS\system32\aim.exe Pretty strange, eh?? AIM is closed, and yet it's still running from the Windows directory. So, I killed the process and then I blasted the .exe And I'm still running scans and stuff. So, watch out. I have the link, but I'm not going to post it as some people will download and run it. But here's the site, it's Korean. I'm not sure if that's just a cover or their unknowingly harboring this virus. http://redblock.co.kr/ Argh, timed out on the first time posting. Sorry.
  25. vg.jpg] I got checkmate, but there's no way to submit your score or whatever...
