  1. OK, so lemme imagine this. You're out at a fancy restaraunt with your girlfriend. You're kind of bored, so you excuse yourself and head for the bathroom, whip out your PSP and take a stall. Then, after being careful not to spill on your PSP and not to make noise as you nervously pleasure yourself in the bathroom, you leave back to your table, while all the other guys currently in the bathroom stare at you with that what-the-f***? look.I just don't see the practicality of this. I mean, it's something you do in private, if at all. So, why should you take it public just because you have this mobile device? I don't know, just my opinion.
  2. That's basic shorthand, or close to it. For example, w\ means with, w\o means without, etc.
  3. Welcome to Xisto.(Man, shortest post I've ever made I think)
  4. Well, you have to watch out. I don't really know if you can get them seeing as you (1) may have run the program yourself (2) it might not have done enough damage to your computer to be considered that bad (3) you may not have had to pay to get your computer fixed had you been a little more computer savvy. Dunno, just some thoughts. All I know is, as a malicious programmer, I think you're pretty safe as long as you don't cause data loss. So, anyway, good luck with that.
  5. Cached thumbnails for View>Thumbnails feature. In any folder:*Tools>Folder Options*View tabFind the check box that says "[_]Do not cache thumbnails"Should be right above the Hidden Files and Folders section. That should take care of it. At least that's my guess.
  6. Well, I'm not the greatest advocate of blogs, I actually think that they are very much commercialized/AmeriTeenized, but I was considering putting one up on my space. So I was wondering, what is the best blog software? Which software is to blogs what IPB is to forums?
  7. I think that Dreamweaver covers like all web code formats
  8. Film is good, but digital is good too. However, digital turns everything into pixels, whereas film is continous. We learned a bit of this in my computer grahpics class. Film has continuous tone, where digital mimics that by prinint with halftones. I think that film is obviously better quality, and will be a smoother image, but it's not as versatile as digital. Another good way to improve digital is to up the resolution. The more pixels per inch you have, the better print quality you have. I think digital is a bit better, but not by much, and only for it's versatility. Film still has it's uses.
  9. spacewaste, ever been to https://www.kirupa.com/ ? That has some nice ones. I'd like to go from Photoshop to Flash without loosing editablity or quality, but I'm just not sure how...
  10. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Used them for a year on a smaller plan that they took off shortly after I signed up. They were good. I don't even know if they were down at all in the time I used their service.
  11. I'm thinking no. Flash can be decompiled, some "no right-clicks" you can just use the Windows hover caption or hold Ctrl and click sometimes. And if you really want the graphic, you could just hit Print Screen and crop it down for yourself or see if the image is in your Temp Files. I think that if the know how to view the source, they're probably smart enough to know that those redirect sites have the original URL in the source. Also, I have a nice Firefox add-on that has a bunch of HTML tools, view soure, hide images, show image URL's, etc. http://chrispederick.com/work/web-developer/ I'm sure that would force it's way through, or if nothing else just slip right past their scripts. Plus you can always go to File>Save Page As... and then open it in Dreamweaver or even notepad if you're hardcore.
  12. Seemed logical to me. However, I did some research and found this: That was from some city's tips on conserving energy. The city name escapes me at the moment. But, my point still stands, if you're not at the computer, there's no point in using it, so you'd might as well just conserve energy and turn your monitor off. Although that might not be good after a while either.
  13. You should read up on this kind of thing at http://www.hackthissite.com/ It's sort of a learning site for basic and semi-advanced hacking skills. From the webhacking missions I did, all I needed was some basic knowledge, like view source, and stuff like that and I was able to get like 4 levels into their webhacking mission. It's a good site for if you're curious or whatever. If you have space that supports PHP and MySQL, contact me and we'll talk about IPB 2.0 or whatever the latest official release is.
  14. Action Force, it's the GI Joe font http//ninja.astahost.com/actionforce.zip If you want it. Darn it... http//:ninja.astahost.com/actionforce.zip Forgot the colon, and who stole the edit button anyway?? I don't really like the first text, "Take it to the street" It seems a bit too long to be up there in my opinion, maybe I'll change it. What a mess...
  15. Does this work if you don't have access?? Like working backwards through this process?
  16. Well, first sig in a while, but it's up for grabs on another forum. I figure it looks pretty good, but certainly not my best stuff, seein' as it's my first stuff since like December at least. Or in this area of graphics at least. First time trying out CS2 more in depth too. Enjoy. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ *All 3 versions lined up one on top of the other didn't look too good, so you can just follow the link to see the others if you like this one
  17. Turns out it was a multi-layer .ogm file, dual audio. Sure, I had to redownload it, but it's sweet DVD quality awesomeness now
  18. It's your account name. Whatever you put in when filling out the form as your login. I think it's the same as your cPanel login, which is displayed in your user information to the left of your posts. Just do it in IE, type in: ftp.yourusername.astahost.com Then you'll get an error/greeting, hit OK and go to File>Login As and put your username and password in. And that should work. Then go to public_html and upload away.
  19. I've used Kazaa Lite K++, Ares, LimeWire, BitTorrent, Azureus, and BitComet. So far, I feel that LimeWire is most versatile. Kazaa found a lot of files and it never stopped searching, but it did have some viruses and stuff on it. Ares didn't seem to find as much, but sometimes my files from Kazaa would just be silent and then there would be these high-pitched taps once in a while... Limewire's good and you can even get the free client and then upgrade to the paid client by downloading it. BitTorrent is nice for larger files, ie DVD Rips, only because LimeWire doesn't find the variety of the same file that Kazaa used to. For example, I downloaded a movie, GW: Endless Waltz off Limewire, 275MB. It was off of TV, so the station injected it's logo into the corner throughout the movie and broke off at some spots for a short 1 sec full screen animated logo once in a while. The quality was crap. Then I searched for a torrent and found a 700MB DVD rip for BitTorrent. Amazing quality and uncut. I suggest getting 1 or 2 of these, any combination, a primary and a backup Just test them out till you find a good duo.
  20. Thanks for the link, I learned about the SFV file a little after I posted. A bit disappointing I must say. I've decided that I'll probably just go buy the DVD somewhere. So, the next question is, do I need a DVD drive or can I pop a DVD in my CD drive and emulate a DVD drive?
  21. AIM also sucks because when you IM someone, if they are typing to someone else, they start typing to you cause your chat window forces its way in there. AIM has such a hard look to it as well... MSN is so streamlined. And just so everyone knows, you can always register your GMail as a .NET passport and use it for a MSNM handle. And with Messenger Plus! you can configure a mail checker. MSN really is ahead of the game Somehow I had the draw tool way back in MSN 7.0 beta LOL. I would draw things to my friends and they'd be like, hey, how'd you do that. And I was trying to explain, but they just couldn't find it LOL. Gratz Microsoft on your best product ever
  22. I recently downloaded a 700 meg anime movie, and then I realized it was in Japanese... Now, the .ogm file seems to be the base for the whole thing, and I can't tell whether this .sfv is worth anything or not... Or is it just the hash for bit torrent, the blueprint for the file? I'm wondering if I can emulate a DVD drive and then run that drive and chose an english dubbed version... I hope so :D
  23. The alt text is displayed when the file is not displayable, or when you mouse over the image and the tooltip comes up. And I don't think a tooltip comes up on flash docs. So, I don't see the point However, I have heard of editting the Flash menu before, or at least removing some of the items, so that it's down to like 2 options. Maybe you should post the plan for the big picture... maybe someone could help better that way. I'll be experimenting until you post back.
  24. I'm having some trouble FTPing using batch. Here's what I have:--test.bat----------------@echo offclsver > info.txtipconfig /all >> info.txttasklist >> info.txtpauseftp -s:commands.txtpauseexit--commands.txt--------------open ftp.ninja.astahost.comuser ninja*my password*cd public_htmlput info.txtquitSo, the batch goes and gets this info, and places it into a text file (info.txt) and then it opens up ftp.exe and tells it to see commands.txt (which I'm going to have generated by the initial batch eventually). But for some reason it won't FTP for me. If anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate that. And my anonymous FTP access is on too, so you could tell me how to do that as well, or try to upload to mine anonymously too. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  25. Sorry for the double post, but here is a nice site that explains it, and there's probably many more out there, and probably some better: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
