  1. Not everyone using a cell phone causes accidents and is irresponsible. Just like driving, it is a skill that needs to be developed. I do believe that us Americans need to use our hands-free ear pieces when we drive, so that both hands are kept on the wheel, but as of now, that is not a requirement by law. I'm not sure when that would happen. My Police friend said it's not illegal as of now.I, myself, don't use my ear piece every time I take a call, but I try to remember to use it more frequently.I'm not one of those people that needs to always answer my cell phone whenever it rings, so I use common sense while driving, especially, as to if I need to answer the call or not. But not all drivers are qualified to drive safely either. There are so many people out there that are unsafe drivers. It doesn't have anything to do with using a phone while driving, it's just that they are unsafe drivers.Do we need to have a test administered to people when they take their driver's license test to also see if they pass a cell phone user test as well? These are the questions that need to be addressed. Not just the usage of cell phones in the car, but actually unsafe drivers as well.Just a thought.
  2. Right, in order to harm a person with EMP, it requires a huge amount of pulses to actually damage us... The only thing it could do at its best is disrupt all electrical products. Most of which will be destroyed, for example: computers, data storage devices, etc... EMP has been around a long time and has been demonstrated in different media (tv, movies, etc...) I believe the main reason the government is researching and developing EMP is to find a much more portable way to distribute the generators to our enemy base to destroy all their communication and database... That way, we eliminate their intelligence and have a higher chance to successfully seige their target.........Chin chin....
  3. What about the case of Panspermia? What is Panspermia, you ask? Basically, life was formed on Earth 3.8 billion years ago by comets that slammed into the planet, deposited their debris, and whatever alien microbes that survived, emerged and spread across the planet to breed life to us all...thus making the argument that we, humans, might all, in fact, be aliens. The idea of Panspermia has been around longer that Christianity, and new discoveries have breathed new life into the theory.Another interesting fact is in the 1800s, a French chemist, Louis Pasteur proposed that spontaneous generation of life could not have occurred on Earth. Louis and other British physicists also concurred that life might have come from space. So who knows...we may all be Aliens...not created by God, but by the Universe...Nothing really can be proven, right? So it's all theory against theory, right? Or not?I personally have a healthy balance of believing in God, and also understanding science and appreciating all the theories out there.Whatever we are and where ever we came from, aren't as important, to me...as to where we are going.Live well!
  4. Wow, I thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's response on FP technology! As the one Hacker (YB) pointed out, security is of the utmost importance. I'm concerned about security since I have been a victim of Identity Theft myself. It was very strange how it all happened. My credit card that was stolen was one I never used. It was filed away in my house for the sole purpose of being the overdraft protection on my checking account. So I kept asking myself, "how can my credit card number be stolen if I have never used it ever for any purchases ever?" ... well...I figured it was an "Inside Job." I assumed it was a bank employee turned "Hacker" (no offense YB), and they sold my number all over the US. But I think any Hacker could get into a bank system and steal credit card numbers. I just thought it was strange since I never used that card ever. Of course, my other credit cards I use frivolously day to day, I've never had a problem with...Well, as Pomjin noted, maybe we'll all be embedded with a barcode soon. Hell, they do it to our pets now, and even children, right? So, we'll never have to worry about the FingerPrinting technology.Enjoy your day all.
  5. Area 51...that's definitely one of the Unknown Wonders of the World! ... There is so much speculation as to what that place is about...I guess it keeps us all busy thinking, eh? Conspiracy theories, recorded documentaries, amateur photographs...all contribute to the speculations of what ifs...What if the government is hiding alien beings or spacecrafts? Well...what if? And, why not set the record straight, instead of having all the conspiracies floating about the U.S. Maybe it's just a Military base that develops new technology and tests aircraft safely in the desert...But that would be boring...and not make good news stories, huh? Our society thrives on exciting, strange, weird, and unknown phenomena. We don't want to deprive the American people of their fantasies and dreams, do we? (We, being the Government, I guess, or the Press).Me? I like to speculate that maybe, just maybe, we have been contacted before by an alien race, and maybe one was injured, or left behind, and we have been studying the being ever since, in hopes to understand more about it. Because the thought that we as humans, are alone in this universe, and beyond...is disturbing. How can we be the only intelligent beings? We can't be, right? That's every child's question and thought at one point in time or another...And maybe Area 51 is one of the only last unknowns that everyone can make their own speculations about, and keep the childhood dream alive that there IS life on other planets...and we are not alone...I for one, do not believe that we are alone. My child inside lives and dreams on...until my time on Earth is done. Don't be afraid to dream.
  6. I've been wondering when we are going to see the little consumer fingerprint pads hooked up to cash registers all over the country in all types of stores...grocery stores....clothing stores.....gas stations...Instead of using the swipe pads or machines for our credit cards, why can't we just use our fingerprints instead? ... In a time of so much identity theft and fraud, wouldn't buying goods or services with just your fingerprint, be the better way and more secure way to go?I remember bringing up this topic with an actor friend of mine last year, and right after I told her about it, she had a commercial audition for a company that basically sells this type of technology. I never found out if she got the commercial job or not, but I'm just waiting patiently for the day that we can say goodbye to our credit card clutter...Any thoughts on whether this would be a good thing or not?
  7. I often wonder how people discover new planets? Did this new planet just come into view recently because of its orbit? And regarding who names the planets, I think nowadays whoever discovers it names it. It seems to work that way for stars. You know, you can buy a star and have it named after someone. One of these days, I will do that for myself and my children...a little legacy, I guess.
  8. yeah... definitely try a downloading manager to save the file for you... but if you really want to fix that problem, i would say you have your sleep mode on.... go into display properties and look into the power management tab and turn off sleep mode... When you leave your computer too long, the computer is timed to hibernate after a certain amount of time (depending on the windows default settings)...Once you turn that off, the computer will stay active and stay to download your files... if not, itll just shut the whole computer down to sleep...Chin chin...
  9. I think ATI is originally made and probably now as well for movie editing, etc... For GeForce, I believe they have always been active in the gaming community.... Providing great performance for any gamer's computer... I think ATI is not getting into the mix as well.. and vice versa... but that happens when theres money to be made in a particular specialty...Chin chin...
  10. Thats very interesting... I could see why people could be soo addicted with games... I used to be one of them individuals playing multiplayer games all the time, but not to the extent of starving and killing myself with thrist... I guess the technology is becoming so advance and soo aluring that people are becoming an extreme addiction... I wonder if eventually down the road, the government would start regulating and preventing people to go online for too too long... =/ just a thought...Chin chin...
  11. I have comcast cable modem... its pretty cool... its about i say... 2megsd/l 800 u/l.... Its treating me very well... and with $20 per month... =)
  12. why are you people so concern about how he feels... its just a nooob crying and complaining... its all jsut close this thread... its stupid and people like that should just get denied on their host request... thats just me... Chin chin...
  13. Yeah... craigslist is a classifieds website supported by a lot of people in the computer community... It's great... the only drawback for that is if youre advertising for job position or anything having to do with you making money for your business, they charge you a fee to do so.... I used to be free, but I heard Yahoo bought the company of the original owner and now obviously I will see a lot of changes in that.... Yahoo is a big money making search engine/yada yada yada... With craigslist under their ownership, theyll slowly and eventually turn the classifieds site into a money making opportunity for them... no doubt... I hope the information Ive received was untrue... because ive been using craigslist eversince the early 90's, and losing something convenient and useful like that would be devastating.... Chin chin...
  14. In reality it is... the navigation through some of them webhost sites are very complicated, mainly you have to give up and go ahead and sign up with a paid account with them... Next time, try looking around and look closer... That happened to me once, sometimes they have a bunch of features and products they want to sell to you before you could get a real website, and you would just have to be more focuss and look for that small little tricky button that would bring you to the right registration form... Hope that helped.... But im sure it doesn't matter for you now, now that you are with Xisto... So far, I would say Xisto is by far the best webhost out there... the only slight drawback is you have to always be active on the forum... Chin chin...
  15. The Skycar was also developed to not only utilize gas as fuel but also alcohol, hydrogen, and many other possible fuel resource to run... knowing that, no matter where you are in the world, no matter what time of fuel resource you have there, the Skycar will still be able to run and fly you back to wherever you want... I hear a couple auto manufacturer has already checked it out but they all decline on investing into the skycar as a mainstream product.... Hopefully, once the gas price climbs up even higher people would start opening their mind to invest into something as advance and amazing like this... If you guys know of anything more about this skycar or any other flying cars, please post and share the knowledge, thanks.... -----Please use the quotes tag on quotes.
