lol, that's the funniest thing I've read in this category. I can't stop thinkin bout it. Here's another thing, when I brought my laptop to school and my screensaver popped up, everybody was saying "Hey, your computer just crashed" or "your computer is acting up", I simply laugh and showed them it was merely a screensaver. Little did they know, Linux has that installed when you have xscreensaver installed and they think they're computer literate.I guess wrong.xboxrulz

There's a boot CD powered by Linux called Ultimate Boot CD, you should download and burn the ISO onto a CD and boot it on the computer affected. Use it to backup your important data then reinstall Windows XP.http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

The prroblem about having alternative gas is that the oil industry for cars is so huge, that the market is forcing car companies to not switch to a cleaner fuel. If the world signs a petition, maybe this can trigger something good in the economyxboxrulz

From me, I don't like Ubuntu, pretty primitive with it's configuration utilities suck; with SuSE, configuration is easy and you can actually dig in and fix things without the GUI. Ubuntu's utilities resets it back to whatever it sets up. This happened to my LCD monitor, it annoyed me so much that I ditched it.SuSE for me is the better way to go. There's no such thing as the best distro. It's a subjective matter.xboxrulz

it might be true that these are just foreign objects, or when they were released, the gravity pull weakened, therefore causing the extra z axis. There's really strange things that happens to the Universe as we're not the only ones.xboxrulz -

I have w32codecs in my SuSE partition, the other, being Win2K.Gaim works on SuSE 9.3 and u need libdvdcss in order to play copyrighted DVDs. To install it for Knoppix, in your console, do sudo apt-get install libdvdcss (by doing sudo, you must enter the root password. Please also double check to do apt-get update before doing apt-get install <package>)xboxrulz

Wow, you're dragging me back to about 2004 when I last played Starcraft. It is the longest running strategy game I've ever played. Seriously, from 1997-8 till 2004. Now, I think C&C Generals is 2nd for being the longest. I prefer Starcraft over Warcraft. I don't like the story and I definitely do not want Blizzard to continue to develop it. The second reason is that the game is based on old styled fantasy stories. Starcraft suits me better because it's about space and the future, which I like.xboxrulz

Yes, the proposed name of "Lila" (or Lilah) was chosen by the scientist who discovered it. He named it after his newborn daughter. It is now up to the IAU to decide.xboxrulz -

To answer Moody's question. I think the discovery of the 2003UB313 was because when it orbit, it came closer to the rest of the solar system. Refer to the Wikipedia NASA orbit diagram. It takes 2003UB313 560 earth years to orbit once around the sun.xboxrulz -

Truely, this is the best way to get rid of the slowliness, uninstall Windows XP Home (if you have it) and install Professional or any small Linux distro. If that doesn't work, get a new computer for CAD$400.The computer is suppose to expand with you not you expand for your computer.xboxrulz

Windows Xp Vs. Linux Which one do you prefer?
xboxrulz1405241485 replied to Airlub's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Many ask, then why do most people run Windows? The answer lies on the market. Microsoft advertise their junk to the world and say that it's the best operating system in the world and tries to block out competition so that everyone is happy. Linux has not advertise before, it's a program that relies on word of mouth. I converted a Windows user to use SuSE Linux, he was happy and he said it was much easier and he felt safer than using Windows.I even bring my laptop running SuSE Linux 9.3 to school and my classmates couldn't even crack through the security system, they even try to run a toy virus to delete the kernel, but that didn't work. Why? It's because of the permission system that UNIX and Linux has. Windows' permission system is not good enough, because programs still can delete system files running as Limited User, normal user in Linux,So, why not switch some ask? It's because the market is still aimed at Microsoft and most people's mind-set is: if it ain't [completely] broke, don't fix it.Therefore, it's your decisions to move away from Windows. We as users control the market. See what happens when 50%+ runs on Linux, most developers will swap their software to Linux and more new users will be using it.Linux is as easy (or easier) than Windows. The problem is that Linux expert make Linux looks harder than it is. They use terms that so called normal or some of us call barely computer literate never heard before and they will be afraid.I was barely computer illiterate and I discovered Linux, I found it easy at first when using Linspire, I found this system interesting. Then, I moved on to Mandriva (formerly Mandrake), but end up switching to SuSE because it was buggy. I have stayed w/ SuSE Linux since 9.0 which was around March 2004. Now I use SuSE 9.3 and I'm very satisfied with the ease of use.So, now you have to really decide if Windows XP is really the best system. Also, remember that Linux can do what Windows can do or even more. Finally, please note that Linux is NOT UNIX, it's a clone of UNIX, but better. WINE is not an emulator, it's a Windows compatibility layer. FreeBSD is a version of UNIX.That's my research and IMO. For those who still argue that Windows is better, re-read this post and my post about 1 or 2 pages back.xboxrulz -
Hey admins! This is really irritating me. Whenever I scroll thru this forum, no matter what brower: Opera, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Konqueror. It lags badly.Trap17 doesn't have this problem.
