Ok so i notice how boring it is using Windows Desktop and i'm wondering if there's any tweaks or tools out there (preferably free) that will allow me to have wobbly/snap window effects and some of those eye-candy stuff Compiz or most linux have availablecheers

Windows Media Player 12 Codecs - Vlc?
manuleka replied to manuleka's topic in Websites and Web Designing
quite handy, although i haven't recall having any issue playing video on VLC before which is my default player - reason for me using WMP is just trying it out because i'm starting to like the feel and look of it (even Internet Explorer 9 seems quite nice in my opinion - which i use to hate since like forever hehe) -
hey guys, sorry forgot to mention that - OS is Windows 7 (XP seems a bit simpler on folder/drive sharing) which just workout the same... Windows 7 seems a bit different (in my case it does hehe)@ yordan - yes a whole partition... i was expecting it to work just like sharing a folder but it seems not or maybe i'm just missing something??

So i have enabled sharing of a couple of my PC's partitions (added Everyone/Guest as read-only), now other computers can view the shared drive (as in D: and E:) but cannot access into the drive...Now when i enable sharing on a Folder (added Everyone/Guest as read-only) they work perfectly fineAre there suppose to be some sort of special treatment for sharing partitions?I do have Avast running and Windows Firewall

manuleka replied to manuleka's topic in Websites and Web Designing
unfortunately few of the videos i'm interested on weren't created by me (or doesn't have info on the particular codec used)... would've been nice if videos codec were so easy to recognize hehebut nevertheless, VLC rocks the sock of WMP... -
Windows Media Player 12 Codecs - Vlc?

i suspected that, i was expecting the codec pack to be able to allow WMP to handle pretty much any video... i guess this video is one of the exceptions hehe -

Windows Media Player 12 Codecs - Vlc?
manuleka replied to manuleka's topic in Websites and Web Designing
when i try to play certain video files .avi/mkv etc they don't play on Windows Media Player although with VLC it runs perfectly fine... so i'm wondering whether there's a some sort of Universal codec for Windows Media Player because obviously it has limited format support by default (compared to VLC) -
so i'm starting to like the feel and look of Windows Media Player... only problem, it can't play most file formats like VLCso i'm wondering if anyone know of a codec pack that works perfectly fine with Windows Media Player 12? so i would be able to play formats like .mkv and other non-supported ones on WMPcheers

Apparently it is rumoured that Apple is looking into not extending their partnership with Samsung... this is a big move and very costly as well for both parties... http://www.gsmarena.com/photobeamer_lumiaexclusive_app_hits_the_wp_store_streams_images-news-5146.php -

Nvidia Settings - Warcraft Iii Default Resolution
manuleka replied to manuleka's topic in Websites and Web Designing
thanks wutsuke... unfortunately that setting on my PC doesn't have the options available for some reason... really weird - wonder if it's a driver incompatibility between the Monitor - VideoCardPlatforms:OS: Winddows XP Pro SP3Monitor: AOC F19s (i have downloaded and installed driver from AOC)Video: nVidia Geforce GTX 460 1GB DDR5Driver: nVidia latest driver (have checked)i will test another monitor and see what happens -
exactly... why create your own CMS (time costs) when you can build on what's already available? customizing or tweaking already available CMS is probably my best advice for someone thinking of creating their own CMS unless it is a project which will be ongoing (maintenance and support) then i really don't see the point. Its so much easier and cost a whole lot less if one just learn one CMS (eg. wordpress) and master it, then you can do whatever you want with it - even to adjust the code itself to meet your requirements or use

I do subscribe on other online forums and i hate to admit but i have never gotten a spam response on any of them, Xisto forums unfortunately has an immense number of spams.Lately my email inbox gets piled with spam responses, as Agyat questioned on shoutbox - why so many spamming???Is there a flaw on the forum security that allows the spamming? Are these bots or actually people? I doubt they are people spamming so if these spammers are bots then how come they can do so?

Sudo Apt-Get --Purge Remove Wine* ?
manuleka replied to manuleka's topic in Websites and Web Designing
thanks agyat... have had a look... these a good solutions for removing wine, i'm more concerned about the stuff apt-get is reporting that it will remove... -
can some Linux guru tell me if this is a proper uninstallation of wine 1.5 on my system? looking at what package manager is about to remove includes quite a few things that seems not part of Wine at all [at bottom - The following packages are going to be Removed]
