  1. I had a cousin who completed 5 years into his medicine study then decided to do programming and now he works as a software engineer (he could've easily finished off his med - 2 years of practical and become a doctor) but he said his interests in computers and programming overturns his drive and motivation towards medicine which just faded away...
  2. Here's how i partition my pc: partition1: Windows 7 partition2: Kubuntu 12.10 partition3: Win-specific-data partition4: Kub-specific-data partition5: VM-shared-data partition5 is connected to LinuxMint 14 VM (as a data partition) running on Windows 7, it is also connected to Windows 7 VM running on Kubuntu 12.10
  3. i have tried this before... i then realize i can't live without Windows due to some applications, but especially games so i end up using both (dual boot) and VMs - where i have Linux VM on Windows for quick access and vice versai also have one linux data partition which links the Linux VM to the Dual Boot Linux and Vice Versa
  4. i run two 17" LCD on 1280x1024 seems ok, but it would be nice to have two wide screens though, just can't afford them heheSamsung T220 is a good choice, there is quite a lot of good monitors out there... and will all come down to your own preference and budget
  5. python as yordan mention is a bit different, it uses new-line and indentation for end of lines which initially (if you have done php/c/java where ";" is used for end of lines) can be a bit of a pain to get use to but once you get the hang of it (shouldn't take long really) you will find it is a very good language in its own way hehei have done a bit of python (intro level) and i find that it has a clean laid out syntax due to it's indentation restrictiveness

  7. I have installed Avast for Android on my Galaxy Note II... never got any viral/bug alert so far... doesn't seem to have noticeable effect on the devices performance so far...I don't really see the point of having it on my Galaxy Note as i hardly connect it to the net... at home/work i have my PC... so only time i have ever surfed the net on it was at mcdonalds (free wifi) the other day (once)I download apps/games to my PC (which get Avast scanned on it) and then transfer/install (USB) on to phone
