  1. I teach swimming lessons and lifeguard.. basically, I work at a pool.It could be worse. I could be at Mcdonald's like almost all my friends. At least with this job I come home smelling like chlorine, instead of grease XD Plus, I get paid at least two dollars more than people at Mcdonalds, and I get a full dallar raise in June.
  2. This is entirely incorrect. Research something before you state it as a fact or even a concept. (Myers In Modules, by David Myers) I'm not going to quote any more stuff, but my point is, whether you're gay/lesbian or not has a lot more to do with genes and bioligical things that the surroundings you grow up in. Again, it would do you guys some good to research this stuff first before stating your opinions off something thats not even true.. As for the issue of whether or not lesbian women should be allowed to concieve a child instead of adopting.. well, isn't that her choice? I completely agree that if she becomes pregnant through a male friend and then cuts him off from "his" child, its wrong. But if she doesn't? I mean, shouldn't a homosexual woman have just as much a right to concieve and birth her own child as anyone else? Its not a matter of "decreasing the population". Its more a matter of a woman.. any woman, being allowed to pass her genes onto another generation. Thats her choice, not anyone elses.. If there are children in an orphanage, as long as she didn't put them there in any way, why should she have any more of a responsibility to those children over a (potential) child of her own?
  3. If you're talking about accupuncture, then yeah.. I had that done a few times. I didn't notice it helping much. I'd go to physio and they'd lie my down for a bit, stick some needles in me. I'd look over at some random point and think something like "oh, hey, there are needles sticking out of my shoulder", and turn away again. I left feeling the same as I went in. I didn't notice it helping or hurting. :\Maybe I'm just weird?
  4. Ahaha... no. A friend tried to teach me to dance normally last night at safegrad. It was probably pretty funny to watch XP We ended up fighting.. that was cool. I've bruises now, from where he hit me harder than he meant to XP He probably does too.But breakdancing? I could probably do it if I had someone teach me one on one for a while, but as of now.. no o.O
  5. Ermm.. Arvil Rox!!.. if you want to get your point across and have it taken seriously, you may want to invest in some spelling lessons, or maybe an english class or something. I don't know any quotes from Avril, but I do know that all of her songs sound exactly the same, that none of them are really original, and that she can't sing live at all. Its all about image with her, and even thats been a bit odd lately. That stuff in itself is a good example of her "stupidity", as you put it, let alone when it's placed next to some quotes like that.On the other hand, are you sure that quote is legit? I mean, if it is, she didn't even spell her "own" song right. Seems a bit off to me :\
  6. Hmm.. thats kind of interesting. I'll have to go look up some stuff on that.. thanks XD That would make sense, too, because my mom took a guess that my dad was type O, which has two O.. alleles? XP This stuff is pretty much on par with what I found on random websites. I talked to the bio teacher today, and she said the test was probably wrong.. Thanks for the help XD Any more info on the accuracy of that test that showed my mom as type AB would be really helpful...
  7. I recently managed to bring myself to donate blood. Apparently, when you do this, they send you a donors card in the mail with your blood type on it.. which I got today. I am, apparently, O RH+ (which I discovered to be the most common type, after a bit of research). Now, a few weeks ago, my mom went to see if she would be able to give blood. There are a couple reasons why she wouldn't be able to, they're still figuring out if she's eligible or not. But they tested her blood type while she was there, and discovered she was AB (I'm not sure if it was RH- or RH+). She told me this whenever she got home that day, because thats the rarest type..In my bit of research today after I found out my blood type, I came across some stuff on the genetics of blood types.. what blood types you could potentially inherit based on both your parents blood types. I have no idea what type my dad is, but I know my mom is AB.. supposedly, anyways. The info that I found today (on more than one website) said that if either parent was blood type AB, it was impossible for their child to be type O.Now, think about this. I'm definately blood type O. My mom has been told she's type AB.My question here isn't about finding out you're adopted, or parent infidelity, or any of that stuff, because it seems pretty unlikely that thats what happened here. Instead, I was wondering if anyone here actually knew anything about genetics, and if my information is correct. The other thing I was wondering was the chances of an on-the-spot blood type test being incorrect. This seems like the most likely possibility, but I'm wondering what the chances are. The test was done by someone from Canadian Blood Services, and apparently she was pretty excited when she had her first AB person of the day..Anyways.. what I'd like to know: -Some stuff on blood type genetics.. from a person, not a website :\-Chances of that test being wrongThanks to anyone that might be able to help XD Also, I'm not sure if this is in the right place or not. Move it if its not..
  8. I have a few that I use..anonymous - pretty self explanitory..kaetos - I have a weird thing with 'ae' in names, and I randomly made this one up one day. It was for some game.. I don't even remember which onexaetos - a variation on kaetos, when that one was taken. I think the first place I used it was Kings of Chaoscrevan - another Kings of Chaos name, the first one I used. It was the first thing I tried that wasn't taken.. its an actual name, meaning "fox" :\ I just liked the sound of itacheronis - variation of the word "acheron", which is a river in Hell. First found the word acheron while reading Macbeth for school.. Hecate said, at some point "But make amends now, get you gone, and at the pit of acheron, meet me in the morning." Yeah, I had to memorize the whole thing for a project..xiontes - randomly made upuntwist - made this up for a deadjournal account that I never even use anymore :\Heh.. so, apparently, I have a lot XP
  9. I had a random band member sign my arm at a concert. Three Days Grace, maybe? I can't even remember what band. I guess that could count as meeting.I know a few local musicians in bands with labels and cd's out.I believe I've met, or at least seen, Brad Gushue.. the curling dude for Canada. I doubt no one knows who he is, but he's got his own highway and street here :\I had the chance to meet an olympic gold medalist in triathlon, but the guy who was supposed to ask him to stop over forgot. I wasn't pleased. Hmm.. who else. I know a few people who are pretty big nationally with swimming, but I doubt anyone else will have heard of them.
  10. I'm trying to avoid the too much food thing. If I ate whenever I wanted, it'd be gluttony. But I'd say more sloth than anything, simply because I put off everything. I'm not extreme in any of them, so its hard to figure out where I'm worst :\
  11. Your username would definately suggest you aren't ready. Blacklaser is right in saying a lot of people think they're ready when they're not.. There's a lot more to "being ready" than knowing what it is and wanting to try it. Being 13, I doubt you have a steady relationship with anyone.. maybe you do, I could be wrong, but generally speaking, a typical thirteen year olds relationship consists of either bholding hands and occasionally kissing or going all out with sex and stuff before they're really ready. Having been there myself, I can say that 13 year olds don't really know as much about that stuff as they would like to think. Anyways, point being, don't randomly have sex with someone just because you think you're ready for it. Part of being ready involves having a partner you trust/care about who is also ready..I sound like my mother or something '
  12. I'm pretty sure there's a way to turn it off. Not positive, but I think I managed to find the setting last time I used MS Word. Try tools/options or something like that.. I'd check myself and let you know, but my laptop didn't come with MS Office, so I don't have MS Word, and I'm using some free program thats almost identical, and yet lacks the annoying paperclip. Can't you tell how saddened I am by its absense? XD
  13. Yep. More at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saci_(Brazilian_folklore)
  14. Mmm, music.. Favorite type? Some mix of different types of metal, non-angstey punk (which means no emo disguised as punk), and Nirvana.. lots and lots of Nirvana. Grunge, I believe? So metal, punk, and grunge.I also come across the odd pop artist I like. They are few and far between, but they are out there. These are usually people.. boys, actually.. with those sappy love songs for when you miss someone or like someone, and yet they're not exactly the same as every other sappy love song designed for times like those. Anyways, there aren't many artists from this area that I like, so I'm not counting these as my favorite. Give me anything but emo, country, or rap and I can live.
  15. .. Correct me if I'm wrong, as I don't know much about the Jewish religion (or any religion), but isn't the belief that Jesus is a prophet, not the Son of God? I mean, they still believe in him.. just not in the same sense. I completely understand where you're coming from, that they should make some modifications based on his needs, but you can't expect a place that treats hundreds of people to go particularly out of their way to treat one patient any more than it would to treat another. Yes, some changes should be made, but not everything can be specifically switched to the way you or your great uncle is used to, because as much as anyone might dislike it, we live in a primarily Christian world, and therefore almost everything is based towards that majority - Christians. Its kindof like how most people are right handed. Everything is made for the right handed person, and the only people who notice it are the left handed ones who have to put up with it all. Majorities always get the greater attention, there's not much that can be done about it.
  16. Hehe, that is kindof funny XD See, the thing you have to do is not be embarrassed by it, but look at it from someone elses point of view and laugh at it yourself. It was just a random incident that no one will remember, soon enough. People always forget.. always. They're all too caught up in the latest events happening around a school to remember one in particular for very long at all. They might remember for a few days, but by next week, at the latest, they'll have moved on to something else. I'm picturing myself doing something like this.. I'd just sit on the floor and laugh. Well, I'd probably move out of the way first, since I've heard the pipes are all rusty, so the water that comes out is a weird colour. But I'd just.. laugh. I actually did that when I tripped up the stairs today :\Point being, you first have to realize that it actually was funny, and laugh yourself. Then you have to realize that everyone will have forgotten this in a very short time until something happens to remind them again. Nothing stays in discussion in a school for very long.. there's too much going on.
  17. There's a reason its called a private message :\ If the sender wanted it to be a public thing, they would have just posted a topic or something. So no, I don't think private messages should become public.. it would entirely ruin the point of them, it'd confuse a lot of people, and as a random thing, it'd a complete contradiction.. a public private message? o.O
  18. Caucasian.. and, as xJedix said, a poll would help a lot.
  19. I know quite a few people my age (17-18ish) who have their licence. I have my permit.. I've just been too busy to bother getting my licence. 99% of people who drive don't do things like that. They might get into more accidents, because of lack of experience with what to do in certain situations, but they don't intentionally try to hit people or objects. So given this, its a bit of a stereotype to say that no one should be allowed to drive at that age. Yes, I see your point with what she did, but not all teenage drivers are like that :\ I mean, they've got to learn some time. And some people will never really grow up, so it doesn't matter if they learn to drive at 16 or at 60, they'll still do the same type of things. As for their parents buying them expensive cars.. I'm some mixture of jealous and bitter by it. They get spoiled with everything, but I mean, if your parents offer you a car.. are you really going to turn it down? Spoiled kids are no fun, though, anyways.
  20. My school actually celebrates pi day XD Sadly enough, however, I have an ear infection and stayed home today, so I missed it I passed in almost all the items for the pi day scavenger hunt, though, so soon I'll have a pi day t-shirt, along with the other two people in my group XD e = 2.718281828... So really, there is no e day, or at least not in the same format as pi day, since there is no month with 71 days. I guess you could stretch it and say that February 7th is e day, if you realllly wanted to.. XD
  21. Music usually helps me concentrate on things. Not all the time, but usually. I always end up distracted my my laptop.. now being a perfect example XP I'm supposed to be doing math right now, and obviously, I am not. It was even worse when I didn't have my laptop, because then I'd be downstairs on that computer, even further from homework. At least now I'm close to it, in case I get some sudden burst of motivation to pass my calculus class.
  22. I get to go snowboarding this Friday with school. With any luck, I'll avoid the crashing thing :\ But probably not. This'll be my first time in two years, and I've only gone twice before. On the plus side, I'm going with a few friends who aren't so great at it, either, so it won't be that bad. I figure if I can walk away from the hills at the end of it, I did ok. Hopefully it'll be as much fun as yours sounds XD
  23. That sounds annoying :\ I would've yelled at them all by now..How is it that the dude who isn't working is living there? And how is it that he thinks he can randomly bring other people to basically live there for free.. o.O Makes no sense. Meh.. once you get mad at them a few times, they'll go away. If not, yell at them some more.. louder.. or something XP Good luck with it, anyways..
  24. Newfoundland, Canada. There's not much to do here..Apparently we've got a funny accent? XD
