  1. I made my first website.. almost 5 years ago. I went to an enrichment thing for school on making your own webpage. They used Frontpage (we were in gr 7..), but there was a lot of coding html to it too.. It was a terrible website, and had no real information on it, but it got me into web design. I think we uploaded it at angelfire, but they (angelfire) deleted it after me not having updated it after so long..
  2. I'm kindof split.. everyone has a right to visit this site. But at the same time, you could put a warning label on the vent saying that there might be some language here. I know another site like that.. I'm not really sure if it works or not, I don't know any young kids signed up for it. Technically, I'm pretty sure its not up to the admin of a site to make sure young kids don't see bad language or anything like that on a forum, as long as they provide a warning. But allowing there to be just prevents some kids from coming here because of parents who do watch that type of thing, and that shouldn't really happen.I think the easiest thing to do is just go somewhere else (a blog, another forum..) to vent if you want to use swear words and stuff. Does it really matter that your anger and frustration be so accessible for the world to see?
  3. I don't believe in God, but on the other hand, I don't believe he doesn't exist. I know its a possibility, but I can't see any real proof for it at all, so I find it hard to believe he is there. There's a word for it.. I just can't remember it. I know it is entirely possible that God exists, but I also know it is completely possible that he doesn't. There's no evidence either way, not even a little bit. I'm not one to trust something with no reason or proof that I should, so I guess I'm in the middle of religious and athiest. He could be there, He might not.. I guess I'll find out 60 or 70 years down the road..
  4. I tried Linux a couple of times, but never on a computer that I owned or used regularly. I honestly didn't find it too bad. I guess I never had to get into installing things and finding drivers, but I was 14 at the time, and I didn't find it hard to grasp at all :\ Maybe I'm odd?

    Public Transport

The only bus that goes past my house come once an hour. It takes me over an hour to get to work, because the buses are always late so you miss your transfer(s), and you have to take at least two buses to get where you're going. The bus system here is run from the city right next to mine (St Johns), and I believe its run my some part of the government. But they apparently charge my city (Mount Pearl) for the bus they do run through here. There are three all total, but only one that's always running, and only one that goes by my house... and thats once an hour. We really need two of that bus route, because its always late from all the people it has to stop to pick up. But we can't have another route 21.. 'cause they charge us... And besides all that, all the people on the buses kindof scares me, in some way :\

    The Weather Man

Same thing happens here..I woke up Saturday, no idea that there was supposed to be anything exciting happening with the weather (when we get storms, its pretty well known before hand from everyone talking about it). But Saturday, I got up and was almost late for work because we had to drive 30km/h through a blizzard. Only 20cm, but still.. it'd be nice if they could predict these things a bit better :\ But its always been that way.. Just reverse anything the weather-people say. If they say it'll be a storm, ignore it. If they call for good weather, just stay home xP
  7. I download an awful lot of music, as well as the occasional imaging program. The software I can't get out of, thats illegal and I know it, but I figure if I get good at using it now I might buy it later on when I have the money for a $1000 program. But I would never spend $1000 on a program I've never used, and don't even know if I like. But the music I figure I'm good for. Illegal as it may be to download it, if I like it at all I go buy the cd. If its not worth listening to, I don't. I also tend to download a lot of music I have the cd for, since its just easier than uploading it to my laptop. My logic behind this one is that I have spent the money on the artists work, I should be able to have it where I want by the simplest method. If I download your music and don't like it, then why should I give you money for it? Ahh well.. Anyways. I think that pirating music/software is fine as long as you (honestly) have even the slightest intentions of purchasing it legally later on..
  8. If you like her, you should tell her. If you don't.. you'll always be left wondering what might have happened if you'd said something. As for how to tell her, thats up to you.. just say whatever feels right. Even if you come up with something to say before you see her, there's a good chance you'll forget part or all of it in the moment, and then you'll just be lost.. Just say whatever feels right at the time. Do you happen to know if she likes you or not? 'Cause that would also give you an idea as to what to do, and how to do it. If she likes you, it makes it so much easier..
  9. I've never smoked, so I don't know what its like to try and quit.I have, however, been slightly addicted to something else, which will remain unnamed for the time being. I know what its like to want that one thing all the time, whenever something hurts or whenever everything feels like its about to implode upon you from stress. I've managed to stop for almost a year and a half, and the thought is still there.. it'll probably never go away. The only thing thats kept me from going back was knowing that I shouldn't, and finding something (however pointless) to occupy my hands and mind with. Play a game, talk to someone, write a story, draw.. anything except think about it or do it. Its not easy, but it makes it fade away..

    Unfair

It really annoys me, how people are against things like that. It would be one thing if it was a choice, but its not.. although thats another debate. I don't know much about the Australian debate over this, but I know I'm completely against the way Bush has taken the US with it. I don't see how he can impose his personal religious views upon an entire country, and one thats made up of so many different religions. Well, Bush annoys me about everything..
  11. That was the first song I ever actually liked on the radio. I still like it Hmm.. lets see. In no particular order: -Betrayal Is A Symptom, Thrice -Dizzy, Tabitha's Secret -Bright Lights, Matchbox Twenty -It's Been Awhile, Staind -Needles, System Of A Down -Something Vague, Bright Eyes -Hopeless, Train Really, almost all my songs are "depressing". I guess its something about the genre I like, its always about war or hate or death. There aren't many happy songs.. But ahh well. I like it more for the music than the lyrics :\
  12. iPods have ads like that. "Shoot the target and get a free iPod!" And then you play the game about 10 times, never with the intention of getting the iPod, till you realize how easy it is.. They have them all the time on Kings of Chaos As for that smiley one with the sound.. the first time that happened to me, I'd just gotten my new laptop. I thought I'd already managed to get some annoying adware on the thing, since I had (have..) some undetectable spyware on my desktop that randomly talks to me every now and then. But I eventually figured it out.. I don't understand how companies think these things will attract you to their product. Really.. annoy your potential customers, it will draw them in! Ugh.. marketing.
  13. 11.703That will be getting faster.. I like it xP Ok.. lets try again..9.891Third try: 8.351Haha.. this is addictive :\
  14. I'm actually not too upset with my job these days, though it can be annoying at times. I'm a lifeguard at a pool, and I have to teach swimming lessons too. The parents (for the most part) just suck, and some of the crewleaders/supervisors are terrible to be around, but there are others that are ok. For some reason your day always depends on their mood..The only thing I can really say upsets me there is the need for constant smiling. After working 8 hours straight, and five six year olds going crazy, I get parents telling me I should smile more often. And because the parents say it, the crewleader needs to tell me, so all I get is people telling me to smile more. I just wish they'd take these things into account when giving you days with 10 hours, 8 of which are instruction. On the other hand, and making up for the smiling thing, you tend to meet the most awesome people there. Some are awful, but most make you smile, no matter what kind of mood you're in.. xD
  15. Easy solution: Ask out the person you do like. She'll have to stop, if she's at least a little bit sensible.. even if she doesn't you can tell her you have a girlfriend and you can't be with her at the same time.Harder solution: Keep liking the one you like, and try to convince her to stop because you're just not interested, maybe tell her you like someone else. I'd say, given the other things you said she does, that she likes you.. try to be aware of that if/when you ask her to stop :\
  16. I was in a Roman Catholic school up until grade 5 (the changed the school system then..), so we frequently had religion-related discussions, especially in the younger grades. One day when I was in grade two, my teacher at the time asked if anyone had any questions about God. After thinking for a couple of minutes, I said "If God created everything in the universe, who created God?". Her only response was "No one knows..", and even that took her a couple of minutes. I kindof gave up thinking about it after a while. In the Christian religion, God is an actual being, so going by logical reasoning he had to come from somewhere. But how are you ever going to figure that one out? Its not possible. You'd have to die, go to heaven, talk to God (assuming he's there), and be able to come back and tell all those other people down here wondering. You just can't figure out where something came from when you have no physical proof that it's even there.
  17. You definately need a neutral option in your poll..I'm not addicted to RS, not anymore, but I don't hate it. It just got old. And that proves my point - it gets old. There is no need to ban it, because it gets boring after a while and people just stop playing. Why bother banning it?
  18. My first kiss.. I was five, and in kindergarten/preschool. This one kid I knew from preschool was on my bus to kindergarten, and was in my class for the first couple of days. For some reason, I don't know why, he got moved to a different kindergarten class. So the first day after the switch, he asked me to walk him to his class, 'cause he thought he would get lost (this was impossible, even for a five year old). So I did. This continued for maybe.. half the school year. Somewhere in that half-schoolyear, he told me what I kiss was while we were at preschool, and asked me to kiss him. And so, while Sesame Street was playing in the background and 10 or 15 other kids watching the tv, I kissed him. After the half of the school year was up, he told me he didn't need me to walk him to his class anymore, because he knew the way I still know him now, though he hangs out with a very different group of people, and claims he doesn't remember..Besides that, my first "actual" kiss was when I was 14, and was much lamer than the 5-year-old one. Both of us were terrified to do it, and I won't go into any more detail than that
  19. There'd more to it than just trying to get your attention. Is there anything else she does? ..And how do you know that she's not actually trying to talk to her friend? Hmm.. some things that might give it away: -If she finds random and pointless reasons to be around you -If you happen to see her looking at you at random times -If you're good at it, you can try to pick up on hints she lays when she's talking to you, such as mentioning she's single or that she wants to see a certain movie. You have to be careful, though, because these things could also come up in a normal conversation.. -Look in her eyes. There's a certain look girls get when we're looking at/thinking about someone we like. You might be able to pick up on it. You can also see if she looks back into your eyes.. thats usually a sign she likes you -Look at her body language. If she's standing next to you, she might lean a bit closer than she normally would, or if she's sitting across from you at a table she might lean forwards on to the table. This is a big one, I'm not even going to try and list all of them out. You can usually pick up on things she does with herself that people you know are just friends wouldn't do. And finally, if you like her, just ask her.. it'll save you an awful lot of trouble trying to figure it out on your own.
  20. Contacts, because I really don't like the way glasses look on me. I'd prefer neither, but contacts will do. Glasses make me look like a weird combination of punk and prep. I'm not into labels at all, but it would definately get to me if I had to wear glasses :\
  21. I believe I heard somewhere, once, that people say "Bless you" because it was once believed that when you sneezed you were most vunerable to evil spirits that might be around. Saying "Bless you" prevents them from entering your body/soul at that moment of vunerability..
  22. I'm not so sure this is vent-ish, but thats ok..I just broke up with my boyfriend (of one year and almost a month) because he met this other girl, admitted that he liked her as more than a friend and that he loved her as a "very close friend". That in itself I could handle. But he spends more time with her than with me, and she appears to make him happier than I have in almost a year. She asked him to go to their semi-formal with her (even though they go to the same school - I don't) and he asked me first.. but he wanted to go. Anyways, after two weeks of being torn in half, I broke up with him, and he couldn't even understand why..Betrayal is my biggest fear, and paranoia is my biggest talent. At the same time, I'm not particularly jealous, so it would've taken a lot for me to break up with someone because of another girl that was "just a friend". I have a couple of other stories something like this, but they can wait..
  23. Leave it alone 'til she doesn't have a boyfriend. Take it from someone who just went through this, its so much easier that way.. its not a good idea to interrupt another relationship. While one person may not mind, as they like both people, the other person in the relationship will be somewhat crushed. Unless you would want someone to steal your girlfriend from you that way, leave it until she doesn't have someone else. Thats got to be her choice, not yours..
  24. That's a wierd one. How are you supposed to prove it? If it's untrue, you die. But if you try, and your not suicidal, you would have to let go. Unless you pass out because of holding your breath too long. But wouldn't you let go before that? Confusing... Well, think about it. You'll pass out before too long if your brain is deprived of oxygen. You'll pass out before you die, in this case anyways. Since breathing is an automatic function of your body (ie, you don't constantly have to remember to breath), once you pass out, you'll start breathing again, thus making it impossible to kill yourself by holding your breath. What about North America and South America? :\
  25. Sounds like a substitute. Anndd.. thats kind of messed up. I really can't see a school being that bad. I mean, wouldn't it self-destruct after a very short time? There is no way 11 and 12 year olds are that disobediant in classes, because someone, somewhere, would have noticed. Maybe if it were highschool..maybe. But 12 year olds? I really can't see it...
