  1. Assuming I'd have internet access, I'd bring my laptop too.. It'd take care of communication, music, writing, games/entertainment..If I couldn't have internet access, I'd take my iPod. Music would entertain me forever. I know, because I've tried for fairly long periods of time xP I'd just have to make sure that I had all my songs uploaded..

    Overworked :b

Sounds something like me.. only you're taking it much better than me xPI'm doing 8 high school courses, two of which are AP (university level), and one of those is outside normal school hours (during my lunch hour, actually). On top of that, I have a job (but not too many hours) and I'm on the swim team (too many hours). I'm just about ready to sleep for a month. My advice? Get more time off work. You can't cut out one of your classes now, and you can't get out of the homework, or the volunteer hours, so.. work. Maybe go to 4 or 5 nights a week instead of 6 :)Hope you keep it up..
  3. Wow.. I'd like to meet her :\ That sounds like someone who'd talk to just about anyone, about anything, and have the most awesome views on things. Anyways.. hmm.. I can't really say anything like that has ever happened to me, though I'm sure it has. I guess something about those situations makes me forget. I know I've had at least two or three conversations like that while at work. I just can't remember them
  4. The people who have the money to spend on big Christmas presents are the ones with cable, and also the ones with kids who want presents. I see it like this: Kids want cable, kids get cable. Kids see Christmas ads on cable. Kids want said Christmas toys. Parents buy kids Christmas toys because they can afford it, thus having cable in the first place. Christmas is far to advertised if you ask me. It ruins the point of it. I mean, don't et me wrong, I like opening presents on Christmas morning, and I'm not a very religious person, but there is a limit..
  5. I know the feeling.. I'm not in university yet, but I still managed to get more than $700(cdn) in school fees this year, and I didn't even buy all my books new. I'm taking two AP (Advanced Placement - university level) courses, calculus ab and chemistry, so thats $100 for each book and $125 for each AP exam. Plus I had all my other books and materials fees. Even though my parents paid for all of it, it was still too much for a highschool student to pay. I think the main problem is that the government here won't subsidise our AP books like they do for the regular courses - they're actually trying to phase the courses out..Anyways. Near as I can tell, I'll have some pretty high education costs once I graduate high school this summer. Just.. live with it, I guess, 'cause there's nothing that can be done about it while you're still studying. The governments only there to make money, anyways..
  6. The fourth one. The first and the fifth are too simple, the third is, I think, too.. much? Almost too big. And I like the setting and the stone in the fourth one more than the second.. Hope she likes it

    Too Much Hw

I have a math assignment due every week, if not two. They're not short, either. So my life now revolves around getting those done on time..I also have a nov.el to read for english (all the time), and homework for chemistry pretty much every night.High school isn't supposed to give you no time to sleep.. but the problem is that the teachers never realise how much work the other teachers are giving you... I guess you get used to it after a while
  8. Hmm.. swimming. Its considerably hard to drag yourself out of bed at 5am for swim practice, but by the end of it, its worth it. Especially if its a hard set.. theres something about being able to start your dcay by doing something you didnt think you could do. Makes you smile all day
  9. There are terrible, terrible guys out there. But there are also amazing ones. The worst thing you could do, at this point, would be to intentionally shut out guys that you think you might have something with, even if you aren't sure. If you do that, then that last relationship you had will always be your view on guys and its not really an accurate one.. Its true in the sense that there are an awful lot of "bad" guys, and your last relationship would have opened that reality to you, but not all guys are that way.Allll that being said, I didn't go back to read your other post because I don't have the patience to try with this evil thing called a touchpad. But I do know that you shouldn't let one relationship be the only thing influencing your views on all relationships and potential relationships..
  10. Wow.. naiive :\ Ok, so we have scientists who can tell when some things are going on in the world. But they aren't "gods", so to speak. They know far from everything, and the nature of humanity prevents the world from not eventually destroying itself. I mean, think about smoking (not related to the end of the world, but relevant).. The provincial government here has managed to pass a law stating that smoking in any public place is illegal.. this including bars. There was a big upset about this because a) people could no longer smoke while they drink, and they believe that since they are paying to use that facility, they should be able to smoke if they want. They also claimed it was discrimination against smokers. Secondly, the bartenders complained of the loss in business. And thats the big point.. it all comes down to money. In the big picture, the government won't ban smoking alltogether because they would lose far too much money. The point of all that rambling: Everything comes back to money. The scientists can show what the problem is and propose possible solutions to save the world, but they can't convince people to take these measures because it would cost them too much money. And apparently money rules all.. Oi. That was long.. Anyways, scientists will never be able to predict the end of the world, or save it, because the human race is too ignorant to take the necessary precautions to save it or even do anything besides panic. And as for God? I don't necessarily 'believe', but I don't not believe. Its possible, and I don't deny that it may be true, but I guess I don't have the imagination to grasp it or something. Who knows, though, maybe this will be another Noahs Ark situation, and all our "godly" scientists will be wiped out... But more than likely, the people of the world will be the "God" and will have flooded the planet with their own ignorance for the fragility (word?) of the environment around them.
  11. Hehe, I used to play pokemon, back when I was in grade 5. Our school had a pokemon club and everything, but I didn't have enough cards to join. I can't say I ever really understood the game that well, but it was fun while it lasted..
  12. I use photobucket to host all my images.. I haven't had a problem with it yet. I've never tried imageshack so I don't know if its any better or worse, but I do know that photobucket has never caused me much of a problem
  13. Now, I have blue eyes with green in the middle.. but if I could change it, I think I'd like to switch it around. I'd like green eyes with blue in the middle. But honestly? If you could change your eye colour (or if you do, with the whole contacts thing), they no longer represent you. Your eyes are.. who you are. You shouldn't change that..
  14. I think the worst part about this is that I'm going to be paying some random guy I've barely met several hundred dollars to drill around my mouth and cause me an awful lot of pain. And the fact that the irony of this whole thing is still eating away at me.. Though, I guess at least I'm not the only one in a somewhat similar situation? I don't think I like dentists very much o.O Funny, it never seemed to be that way before..
  15. Yeah, well, I made use of the forum.. I needed to type it somewhere :\ Danieluchis, I don't really eat that much candy.. I don't have time for it. I barely have time to eat in general these days, its usually on the run when I do. But its no worse than anything he eats..
  16. Yet another example of the "genious" of the Catholic church these days.. (I'm catholic and all, not bashing the religion, just saying its a bit too.. controlling?) I really don't see the point. There are some people, me for one, who "blog" to.. well.. write. Not even to share information or communicate, just to write things down somewhere. I probably wouldn't be alive now if it wasn't for blogging...though thats another story.. Thats definately against some law. I could understand if they banned it from school computers, but what people do at home is up to them, not the school. I think I'd actually change schools if they came up with anything as ridiculous as that here.. if not for the sake of blogging, for the fact that I wouldn't want to go anywhere that controlling. We have a blog-type site based here that basically every person uses, and banning it would not go over very well.. So I guess, if they're banning things that are talking about their school (in this case blogs), they'll ban forums, too? And AIM/MSN/Yahoo/any other instant messenger? Maybe the internet? Bahh.. I hope it comes back to slap them in the face.
  17. So today I went to the dentist. First off, the girl who was doing the cleaning part stabbed my gums more than she didn't, which resulted in a rather painful thirty minutes. Then came the checkup part.. Now, apparently my normal dentist doesn't work Friday afternoons (lucky him). So I had some foreign guy that I've never seen before. He picks around my mouth for a couple of minutes, and tells me I have two really small cavities in the back of my mouth. Keep in mind here that in 17 years I've never had a cavity and now some random guy poking around my mouth is telling me I have two. Not one, but two. My brother had an appointment at the same time as me. He came out "cavity free", so to speak. But what gets to me more than anything is how he barely ever brushes his teeth and I do all the time. And all he got was a foreign guy telling him to brush his teeth. Now I know I should be a nice sister and all and say "good job" or some other thing to him, but its not.. he doesn't bother to take care of his teeth. Just once I'd like for people like that, who don't do a thing and come out fine, to get what's coming to them. Just once. Its terrible, but if he came out of his checkup in six months with 10 cavities I'd probably smile and tell him he got what he deserved.. because he would have. (Please refrain from telling me that this is an awful thing to say, because I know that..) As if having some random person poking around your mouth for an hour wasn't bad enough, I come out of there in the end with bitter irony slapping me in the face..
  18. I have an awesome formula guide on the covers of my AP Math book.. but something tells me you're not quite there yet ' Besides, I don't have it home http://math.about.com/od/formulas/ss/surfaceareavol.htm -- areas/volumes http://math.about.com/od/formulas/ss/The-Geometry-of-a-Circle.htm -- circle related stuff.. probably has more than you need to know, but it has the stuff you need, too http://math.about.com/od/formulas/fl/Trigonometric-Formulas.htm -- trig formulas.. not sure if you need those, but just in case I got the same site for the imperial measurements as rvalkass.. Hope that helps.. '
  19. Swimming... definately.I took swimming lessons from age 2 until I was 9, when I passed the last 'colour' with a class of 13 year olds. I then joined a swim team.. and that was 8 years ago I've learned to stay away from other sports.. I was never any good at them. But swimming.. swimming is definately my passion. Granted, I'm not so great at it. My shoulder quit on me when I was 14-15, and its still not better, despite physio. But I still love it.. I'm going to be lost when I graduate high school in June, and then theres no more swimming.. ^_^I honestly don't think there's a game about swimming :\ There was a part in Mario Party 3 (n64) on swimming, a minigame. But that was terrible, so it doesn't count..
  20. My high school has a lot of "cliques". There is one big one, made up of what would be considered a combination of preps, bubbles, and skeets (which is a word most people won't know.. its the kids who go out drinking every night, talk about it all the next day, smoke, listen to rap, swear excessivly, etc..). The rest are, for the most parts, small groups of punks, nerds/generally shy people, and all-out goths. The nerds are sometimes disguised as goths.I'm somewhere between nerd, goth, and punk, leaning moreso towards the goth side, from what I'm told.. most of my friends seem to go more towards punk. Anyways, the labels suck.I personally hate the whole clique thing. I kindof hate labels, too, but they were necessary for this.. But I guess its just the way my school turned out. Only one more year
  21. I use xD sometimes... probably more often than I should. But I do try to avoid it, and I almost never use lol. Its just a habit, and once someone uses it a couple of times its normal for them, and they don't even notice it. Really, though, its just another type of smiley, just one that doesn't have a pretty little picture for it. The internet has made it near impossible for different emotions to be detected, so smilies or really descriptive writing are the only way to show how you're feeling.. and, people are lazy, so they go with the smilies. That felt like a mess '
  22. .. I'm going to hope that you didn't say what I thought you said? :\ If you like someone, you shouldn't really care what other people say and who turned them down before, because before that, you liked her anyways. You were worried because someone was going to set them up :\ Assuming you're not after her for popularity or something, you should think it a good thing he turned her down.. But then, I might've misinterpretted that. I'm somewhat sick, and not entirely awake, so it wouldn't be surprising. Just make sure you do what you want, not what others have done..
  23. Notice from snlildude87: Render must be from a game. I tried xP Notice from BuffaloHELP: Edited per request.
  24. There are two ways I think of power.1) The ability to influence and control others, whether they want to follow your actions or not. Ie, George Bush making happy marriage illegal, since his religion doesn't believe in it (did that ever happen?).2) The power to control yourself. If you can control yourself, know ultimately where you are, what you think and believe, and what you do, then you are much more powerful than any president or leader of any sort. If you have enough power over your body and mind, you can physically push yourself to any limit. There are an awful lot of people who can't do that. Both are important.. now if only we could get someone with both :\
  25. .. I tried this. Well, not really, not on purpose.. it just happened. As already suggested, it did not end well. It still gets to me sometimes, what happened in the end (I won't go into details there - lets just say it wasn't pretty). It actually left me with a bit of a trust issue that, because of this and other "in-person" situations combined, I probably won't get over any time soon. I wouldn't advise it. Not unless you knew the person before this happened, and you're confident in who they say they are. Also, it would be 10034 times better if it were possible to meet them in person (yes, yes, in a public place..), as then you'll know they've been honest with who they are.
