Just thinking about piracy makes my blood boil. This is such an easy problem to solve but there are a lot of people in this world who are very greedy and don't care about others. If you want a game just go get a job, work a few hours and buy a game. 10 hours of work for a game that gives many days of entertainment is a pretty good deal.Every time I buy software I am enraged at people who pirate because I think about how much money I could have saved if people weren't being so greedy. If everyone purchased the software there would be trillions of dollars more in the market and prices could have been much cheaper for higher quality products. It's all because of criminals this doesn't happen. If people can't afford software then they shouldn't be using it. Everyone who pirates is a criminal. In my opinion the world would be a better place without people who just take without giving anything back.

Do You Believe In Santa? Do you believe in Santa?
Arigato replied to Ao)K-General's topic in General Discussion
When I was small I didn't believe in Santa for a few reasons. When my elementary teacher told me about Santa the story just didn't make any sense. The idea of flying reindeers and climbing through the chimney sounded like a lie. Also I would get presents signed from Santa but I would see my family wrap them up a few days before. However, there was one moment where I kind of believed in Santa and that was when I wrote to him. I'm not sure about other countries but in Canada we have an address for Santa and the post office would answer the letters and send them back. I didn't know it was the post office at the time but when I got my letter back I thought perhaps there was a Santa. Now I definitively do not believe in Santa at all because there is no hard proof and the things that Santa theoretically does is not scientifically possible. -
I used to use these multi-search engines but what I found is that alot of results are the same and it takes more time to actually find something that you are looking for because you are looking over everything twice. It is easier to just use a single search engine and if you run through a few page of results without getting what you want just switch to another search engine. I usually swich from google to msn search because they have somewhat different results while google and yahoo have very similar results.

I've been using voipbuster for quite a while and I am very satisfied. I paid for credits a long time ago when there was a 1 euro package and now I get free calls to those countries without a time limit. They have since bumbed up the minimum amount of credits to purchase to get the free untimed calls.

Flying Alarm Clock yes its true
Arigato replied to fraudulentpeanut's topic in Science and Technology
Perhaps you are the one who is just making a post for post count because if you were actually reading this thread you would have seen that there is a site given. Anyways, I would worry if I had this clock. I certainly would not like to wake up with dents in my walls or ceiling or running into my face. But this is a very neat way to get people to wake up but I wouldn't like to run around trying to catch a toy with blades that could give you cuts and scratches. -
I would not pay to use google search as they are many alternatives almost as good. But I would gladly pay more than $5 per month for their other services like gmail, picasa, blogger and google earth. Those are quality products that don't have alternatives anywhere as good in my opinion.

My first webpage was made way back in the day many years ago. My sister started making websites a year or two after my family got our first computer and had dial-up. She used a free host that I think was geocities. She then introduced me to making websites. For the first while I used a WYSIWYG editor while my sister was using HTML, then I decided to learn and use HTML and made a webpage that didn't look so great. That is how it all started for me.

I'm not too concerned about hidden cameras. It probably wouldn't be very easy to break into someone's house then look for a place to put the camera then install it. It would probably be quite expensive as well.

I'll Be Getting A Chance To Try Y! Mail Beta Soon!
Arigato replied to freesoul's topic in Websites and Web Designing
How lucky, I would really like to invited into the yahoo mail beta as I want to see how it is working but I have a canadian yahoo account so I can't even apply. Screenshots from what I have seen look very impressive, a large jump from their current webmail interface. -
From experience 512MB of ram should be all you need right now. I used to use a computer with 1gig of DDR ram and when I purchased a new computer I got one with 512 DDR2 ram and I can't tell any difference in my computer use. They both run quite smooth with the latest games and applications. I am not sure if it is because I went from DDR to DDR2.

There is a show I watched on discovery channel called monster machines and it was showing contruction vehicles that has engines the size of a house. They are just massive but I don't think those are the largest engines. I'm just going to take a guess and say that the platform that NASA uses to haul their space shuttle around has the largest motor due to the enormous size and weight that it can move.

Amazing Realism: have you seen THIS fluid simulatior?
Arigato replied to realthor's topic in Science and Technology
That is just amazing. This has to be one of the best cg works i've seen so far. However, this isn't perfect. I have a picky eye when it comes to these type of things as I do alot of cg work myself, there were a few places that gave it away, the rocks, the canister-like object and the helicopter. I have yet to see an absolutely perfect render but this came pretty close. -
There are quite a few cars that can in water now. They have existed for a long time in the military.I don't think that these cars are very practical. How often is it that someone would drive and then decide he wants to take off the road and into the water? not very. Also, there would have to be special roads that slope into the water for this to work.

With the sites I visit on a daily basis I haven't noticed much difference at all in the way that firefox functions. All I could notice were a few interface changes that weren't too much different from how they were before.

Gmail will most likely go public sooner or later, but it probably won't be something significant seeing how they already have a massive amount of members from beta invitations.I think they are still in beta right now as a legal defense if something were to go wrong and cause some buisinesses to lose money or something like that. They will probably stay in beta until they are very confident that their email service is as stable as they can get it.

Can We Stop Storms? the posibility to stop storms
Arigato replied to Zorkaplex's topic in Science and Technology
Yes, I think that it would be possible to stop storms but it would take nothing less than the energy released in a nuclear explosion. It's not humanly practical to stop something so amazingly powerful. The scale is just massive. Nature is easily capable of creating things with a massive amount of energy but humans are not. If this is something that humans could accomplish then doing something to this scale would probably cost more than hundreds of billions for the research over a period of many decades and a few billion to stop each storm with many negative effects on nature. Is it possible to stop a storm? probably. Is it something that humans will be able to do? probably not. -
Oss Internet Speed Booster THE BEST
Arigato replied to H3arts_4nxi3ty's topic in Science and Technology
These type of tools almost never work. On modern computers with up-to-date software the configuration is pretty well tuned to achieve the fastest speed efficiently possible and doesn't require any help from a program to do this, in fact lots of them make your computer run even slower or compromise your computer in some other way. The ones that do work such as google web accelerator make your connection even faster by putting you on a proxy with the pages already pre-loaded. They do make the connection somewhat faster but it is not very noticeable.I'm not suprised that the OSS Internet Speed Booster has adware. You should always be skeptical of programs that claim to make your computer faster and is created by a company that you have never even heard of. -
These are quite bold facts that you have posted. I'm guessing you are just posting what was sent to you in an email or found on another board. You have provided no creditable souce for your information. I am also quite sure that the information you presented is false. You should learn to question and verify what you read before you pass it on.

If you really do suspect that your dog has be poisoned then you MUST go to a vet. I wouldn't try using any remedies, you have absolutely no idea of how certain substances may react with the poison and you could end up hurting your dog. As beeseven said, find a vet.

Yahoo Mail Beta New Look for Yahoo Mail
Arigato replied to cse-icons's topic in Science and Technology
I'm impressed by this new interface, it looks alot better and on the surface seems to look much easier to use than other web based email clients that are available right now. I hear that hotmail is doing the same thing as well in terms of making an desktop application-like interface. Pretty soon I won't bother with using a desktop application as a web version will be just as good. With AJAX the gap between desktop application and web application just keeps getting smaller and smaller. -
I hope it works out. If this is to work then it would be possible to send a man to mars and sustain him there if the food that could be grown is editable. You would also be able to provide the oxygen that is needed to keep a human alive. It will be very interesting to see how this is going to work out.

I like building my PC myself. I don't often see a branded computer built to the exact specifications I want, but if there is then I will save myself some time and buy it. If I don't see one that has exactly what I want then I just build the computer myself. They both cost pretty much the same so either is fine for me.

I hate smokers, not only is it filthy it is terrible for health and causes all sorts of nasty ailments. I also hate people who smoke in public places and just blow smoke wherever they want and it ends up in your face then in your lungs. The government should make it illegal to smoke in public places. If people want to kill themselves with cigarets then fine but they should not be allowed to harm anyone else through second hand smoke. My dad is a smoker and I can't even stand to be in the same room as him most of the time because he stinks and the smell of cigaret smoke gives me a headache really quickly.
