  1. Recently there has been a lot of talk that the revenue graph of Facebook is not holding satisfactory outcomes, but yesterday the situation went really bad when the co-founder of the social networking site faced the drop of a mammoth sum of around $423 million, which resulted in the loss of his position as one of top 10 richest techies. The shares of the site touched a record low point of $20.4 . Zuckerberg is lagging behind by $ 400 million after James Goodnight, co-founder of SAS Institute Inc. was now named the 10th richest in technology. The former has the value including his assets of $ 10.2 billion. The ranking is done Bloomberg Billionaire's Index. Zuckerberg reportedly is more concerned about the market share of Facebook in the field of social media. The site had earlier offering of $ 38 which dropped by 47% and according to Menlo Park the pace of growth of the revenue is going really slow. The company spokesperson was however not available for any comments. The detailed belongings of Zuckerberg can be put as The latest entry to the tenth spot, SAS Institute is a company founded in the year 1976 and the co-founder James Goodnight, a 69 year old man has made a mark in the field of technology. The present total value according to Bloomberg is estimated to be 15.8 million.Goodnight is the holder of two-thirds of the company's profit shares. The top spot has been occupied by the Microsoft supremo Bill Gates and he is worth $ 61.6 billion. Source
  2. The rapper who came to the limelight after he was discovered in the early nineties and millions grooved to his style has suddenly realised that its time to discover something new within himself, and that happens to be as important as his name. His original name is Calvin Broadus and it got changed after he was brought into the world of this unique genre of music, by Dr.Dre. and he has never looked back since then. After spending close to two decades in the rap industry, he is more referred to as "Uncle Snoop' which obviously isn't much preferred by him. It all happened during his visit to Jamaica, where he had been to temple where a priest asked his name, he said he was Snoop Dog, but the priest somehow couldn't find that name relating well with the rapper, as he felt that he was the light, the lion and therefore the name. The rapper says that he could feel some realisation of his being within and proceeded to change his name. The new name would also add an angle of being young to his personality and at the same time also signify that he is the lion of the rapping world.
  3. I would like to add that I am one of the sinners who joined Google Plus and then turned my back to it, presenting the excuse that there wasn't enough time to spend on the site, whereas i do log into my Facebook account almost everyday. The reason.......... as you say that being on Facebook is definitely more fun than being on any other sites.I feel that besides the fantastic lot of apps on Facebook, the publicity policy that they resorted to has given them the edge. They have constantly kept up with the study of what people actually want from a social networking site and the number of users seem to increase every single day.Regarding the future of Google Plus, the mother company Google has to tighten up, probably a bit of change in the marketing and PR policy would be of help and I sincerely hope that it doesn't face the same fate as Google Buzz and Wave.
  4. I think it is more about the personal preference of an individual, but the problem mainly arises because the individual is a part of the society and are supposed to conform to the social norms. There are families who force their gay children to marry a girl they have selected, but they fail to realise that the sexual preference of their children is not going to change just because he has been married to a girl. The concepts of religion and government can interfere, yet the preferences would remain unchanged. Laws banning gay marriages may be implemented but that will encourage the kind of parents mentioned above and some random innocent girl would be trapped into the mess and suffer for no fault of her.
  5. Yes, exactly my point, but the difficulty that is usually faced is that it is not that easy to identify such psychos, sometimes they exhibit the most humorous behavior and at times they are as playful as kids. They are found mingling within the society yet their thinking is quite harmful and definitely not normal. The worst part is that they make and carry out the best plans for a massacre and are hardly found the acts that took several lives. We all know that cannot be termed sanity but if they are insane, then how can that be known so that innocent people do not have to give their lives up?
  6. You can have a lot of options if you check out ADDICTING GAMES, there you might find interesting games that would suit your taste. I was about to ask you, what is your taste exactly like? I mean if you are more into adventure or simulation or any other. Let us know.

  8. You require a lot of time and peace before you actually zero down on marriage , you not only need to decide about your own situation, but also consider both of the guys state of mind. I know it is impossible to leave everyone unharmed, at least emotionally, but the stand has to be taken after enough of thought has been given.
  9. jlhaslip is right, you need to focus on the quality of your posts on the forums rather than unnecessarily posting just to add to your post count. Moreover, too many one liners, too much of quoting from other sources or plagiarizing is a strict no no on this forum. It is the place to nourish our genuine interests and let others befriend you through the medium of discussion. Regarding the doubt on mycents, the link provided should be helpful enough.
  10. After going through various topics on this part of the forum, I found out that there wasn't a topic that bring in the discussion of the worst ever cellphone that one has had. I thought of starting one because i have had experiences that aren't pleasant with quite a few ones.I would start with the first cellphone that I had, it was a Samsung C100, back then having a phone with polyphonic ringtones was quite a deal.I remember it was the time when the prime recommendation would be a Nokia phone, but I opted for a Samsung, probably the reason was the quality of the wallpapers which were displayed in colors and polyphonic ringtones, it was considered a revolutionary device back then, but it started to show its true colors as problems with the charge of the battery begun, I had to keep on charging it every half an hour and the phone was always out of the network's reach. It frustrated me so much that I had to let it go into the garbage bin.My next venture was a Nokia 7610, I remember saving a lot to get this one for myself but it didn't take long to shatter all my excitement. The phone looked stylish but remained in the hung state for most of the time. It freaked the hell out of me after an incident. There was an event when my mom wasn't doing well, my family members tried calling me, as I was about to pick the phone up, it got hung, it was so bad that I wasn't even allowed to call them back.I took it to the store where they said that many of the handsets had been returned as there were software issues with the phone and I decided that the phone would meet the same fate. The recent experience involves my husband who used a Nokia E63, it looked good and served well, but after a period of about 10 months the phone went ghostly........yes it did, something kept on getting typed automatically and refused to be brought under control, we need to get to the store now to let the ghost out of the phone , but I could include it in the list.Lot of my experiences by now, how does your list look like?
  11. I think that the main idea behind this project has not been put up appropriately, it is actually not about making humans immortal, but if it is successful in retaining the ideas and thoughts of the brain of say "a smarter guy", then his contributing bent of mind can be beneficial to the society, even though it seems that it would be a society full of robots. However it is already mentioned that it is an expensive project and it is possible that everyone or their ideas irrespective of their economic status would not be transformed into immortality. So we can expect a few human beings to be around as well and this will ensure there would be genuine human judgement about the performance of the robotic Avatars.I really wonder why you do not want a robotic Avatar preserving your brain and personality, you seem to be pretty contributing on the forums, or is that a sign of humility. Moreover, if you let the concerned people know that you are a nice boy, probably they will come to know that, then they can design an Avatar that would be close to nice. I can appreciate the project and at the same time wonder that if the disastrous brains are also preserved in the same manner, and there won't be death to them, how would the world deal with that.
  12. I remember playing Prince of Persia, back then the game used to enthrall me and I would not mind spending hours on my screen, there were others as well like Super Mario, which I did enjoy, now with increasing responsibility,I do not get much of time to dedicate to playing games, even now when I get the time I like to play Angry Birds on my mobile and that excites me to the fullest.
  13. I can understand when you say that you didn't find a crow visiting when you were anticipating their visit. However, I can wish you good luck regarding your bonding with your latest interest and you derive the satisfaction that you wished for. The picture taken seems to be a close one. Could you tell me whether the picture was taken when the bird was sitting somewhere sitting close to your place or had you gone out when you captured this sight?
  14. Somehow even I feel the same way, but there is something else that I think. We often find people who have been shattered by the turbulence in their lives and many of us have the capacity of sensibly handling such issues, and you have indeed contributed considerably, at least we know that within our hearts. However, I agree that appreciation or at least recognition does matter a lot.Nevertheless, being on the forum in some way brings about the discussion which gets transformed into assistance, mainly emotional on this part of the forum. Hope all of us manage to keep up the noble work.
  15. On Wednesday, Apple's iPhone achieved another desirable feature from Amazon. It is the Instant Video App from Amazon that would now enable the Amazon Prime members of the retail giant to enjoy their favorite T.V. shows and movies on their iPads. Thees people can download the movies which have been purchased or rented to view them offline. The feature is however not available on iPhone or iPod Touch.Apple T.V. boxes also do not have the feature for support of AirPlay streaming. Source

    Unsure ?

If you really talk about dreams, I have had terrible experiences with them. What I think is because you keep on thinking about the homosexuality or bisexuality of your sister and friends, you end up wondering about your own preferences. That might be the reason why you might have dreamt about such a situation. However I think there is hardly anything to worry about.
  17. All of us have at least once dreamt of living an eternal life. This may come true if we manage to live and wait until 2045. A person from Russia, Dmitry Itskov, who is 31 years of age, has claimed that the dream of immortality may be transformed into reality. His project is titled "The 2045 Initiative", where he would create Avatars that after constant updation can attain freedom from the fear of death. The project however needs financial assistance as it involves the spending of millions of dollars. The project could be completed in phases, the first phase would involve creating robotic humans controlled remotely. The first phase would be done by 2020, and then the next phase would come where the human brain could be transferred to the robotic body within another five years. By 2035, the third phase would be worked upon where a separate brain for the robotic Avatar would be created and it will be carrying your exact personality. The last phase of the project would take another 10 years and by 2045, the holographic robotic avatars would be living eternal lives on the earth. Itskov is now busy seeking financial aid for his project and has made promises that the sources of the aid would be given a life which would be far form being mortal and ordinary. What do you think the situation over the earth would be if it would be normal to see human like robots walking around and how would be the future of the earth like? Source
  18. Microsoft has been trying hard to regain its position as the pioneer of mailing services, for that it has to compete with Google's mail giant Gmail, which possibly has the highest number of users across the world. Microsoft, probably has spent time studying the factors which pull more people using mail towards the services of Gmail. It has ultimately taken its stand after its research is done. The veteran service of Hotmail has been ripped off and replaced by the company's latest presentation Outlook.com . The new mailing reportedly resembles the features of Gmail , like a user friendly interface , but unlike Gmail, which only provides preset integration to its home company's social site Google+, Outlook.com comes with the integration of other sites which witness heavier activity such as Facebook and Twitter and no ads would be displayed to users after identifying keywords that are used the most by the users, delivering a blow to Gmail's policy of showing ads. The step directly points to the competition of the tech giants again, the similarities of Outlook.com and Gmail and the former going one step further with some updated features. Actually, Hotmail could be considered as one of the founders in mailing services, it started in the mid 90's and then when it was about to complete a decade's time, Google came up with Gmail and undoubtedly with features like Hangouts, it by far passed the attainment of people's preference. Microsoft's Outlook.com has some great features to look out for like Its cloud friendliness lets you remain in touch with your email irrespective of the device you use or the location you are in.With the feature of SkyDrive in it you can attach documents and images of any length. It promises that the number of messages in your inbox would be more visible , about 30% more than the other mailing services. However, the interface has resemblance to that of Gmail, as mentioned earlier. The integration of social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Skype etc. gives it a clear edge over Gmail. The service offers free office Apps like Word, PowerPoint, OneNote etc. to transform it into a corporate service. Do you think, we will be witnessing another tech war which would result in the betterment of technology altogether. Source
  19. Air Canada is striving to gain its reputation back, in a flight from Victoria to Toronto a sewing needle was found in a sandwich that was delivered to one of the passengers flying with them. The police has intervened to look into the matter along the catering company and the airline and have stated that steps to avoid such situations in the future have been taken. However, the incident was described as a random one. They say that safety concerning edibles on the flight are of top most priority and needs the attention of the authorities. A similar incident occurred on Delta flights operating from Amsterdam to the United States, six sandwiches had needles in them and had injured a passenger who had taken a bite of the sandwich. The FBI and the Dutch authorities are into the investigation of the matter that took place about two weeks ago.The company in charge of catering on the flight, Gate Gourmet, was also contacted and it stated that the sandwiches were prepared at the company's wing in Amsterdam. Whatever the authorities have described as a factor of priority , should be considered so and shouldn't be done with an attitude of negligence. I really hope that they provide less opportunities for lodging complaints to the customers. Source
  20. None of us could actually, at the very first thought consider a relation between religion and the progress technology has made in the field of social media, but it is time we gave it a thought. The growing use of social media in spreading religious propaganda has strengthened the belief that churches have taken social media as a resort to get widely known. A digital advertising agency which basically deals with matters related to Christianity, Buzzplant, has conducted a survey which shows that 30% of the churches use social networking sites to put up their religious propaganda, and they do it often, while almost 15% do not show any such use. Close to half of the surveyed churches maintain that social media has tremendous appeal to people in this era, and around 25% were found to never use such networking sites. This brings on us to think and discuss whether the social networking sites have made so strong an impact or religion has lost its impact on people. Probably, as more matter for study comes out, people have started to find flaws or doubt how genuine a religion is? What is your take on this? Source
  21. It would be so difficult for me imagine and think for me about my own death, let alone knowing about when I am going to die. However sometimes I do think that death is inevitable, and what would happen if I really knew when I was going to die, I can't believe myself, I feel that it would be a state of peace and I would be relieved from all the stress in my life, I know that sounds like being an escapist. Something that would trouble me big time would be if I come to know when the people I am very attached to are going to die, merely imagining that would snatch sleep from my life.
  22. Love in reality is the most talked about concept, the idea is as individual as possible, at times the same individual differs from his own opinion after some time has passed or after he has faced certain circumstances.According to me, love is the sense of both belonging to and having someone, of course, there are many other factors that make love stand as a strong emotion. It is often said that love is unconditional, but we expect that to apply to our partners only, we should be asking ourselves what extent of unconditional love can we shower on our partners. We should ourselves be dedicated towards whatever we commit in love, and then the process of expectation should begin.
  23. With so many meaningful contributions to the post, I would like to add mine by bumping into the discussion. I feel that human beings are born with their emotional level like any other living beings, but as we grow older, our life goes through internal developments, we start to experience emotions which cause tremendous influence on our lives, we resort to reasoning at times yet end up doing something which is far from reason. In the same way, we feel connected, deeply to our succeeding generations. Anyone who has held his child in his hands can very well understand what I mean. We take efforts to leave the best for them in all spheres, going green with the Earth is one of those measures.Whether the world sees it end, all of our lives are perishable, this realization could actually be the driving force to make the world the best place to live, as we should strive to make the best in this given time (our life span).
  24. What I feel is that there is no harm in dreaming as long as you remember that it is indeed nothing more than a dream, the kind of involvement that you show with the "virtual world" could really prove to be alarming. The point that makes me wonder is that if you already know that, is it advisable to waste time dedicating to the construction of the virtual world, I understand pleasure can be derived thinking in a way like "I wish.........", especially when you come home after a long tiring day, but even after realising that it is driving you away from your earthly duties, it should be brought under limits.
  25. It is true that many people started to take interest in incidents of shipwrecks after watching the movie 'Titanic', but there are people who have dedicated their mind and time for conducting extensive research on the same issue. It is due to their efforts that some of the surprising facts that relate to such shipwrecks. Some economists from the Uppsala University in Sweden, have found results that do not conform to the set beliefs that women and children are more likely to survive ship disasters than men. In fact, the new study establishes that the male passengers on the ship and the crew members are more likely to escape the mishap because according to the lead researcher Mikael Elinder, as the ship faces disastrous conditions, and the passengers are to make their way out of the ship, the idea of "every man for himself" prevails. The case of Titanic however differs, there the women and children were allowed to board the life boats before the others. The team dedicated to research studied as many as 18 cases, where they included in their study the information about the sex of the survivors. They also found out another surprising fact that the crew members have the highest possibility of surviving shipwrecks, it is surprising because it is considered to be the responsibility of the crew members to provide for the safety of the passengers. Another striking outcome of their study is that on British ships, where most of the times, women and children are ordered to evacuate the ship first, the condition of the same lot is the worst. It is not that the study can be taken as an established fact related to survival of shipwrecks, but it, with the range of cases and time covered in the study, at least can serve as the stepping stone for more studies in this field to come. For more details about the study, have a look at survival in shipwrecks
