  1. One thing really is to be wondered about, whether cosmetic surgery actually enhances someone's looks, lets say a girl looks average or some feature of her face is close to weird, then will it be fruitful for her to opt for cosmetic surgery? I remember one of the Indian actresses who sort of looked cute and bubbly, but wasn't the most sought after of female leads because some people of the industry thought that she wasn't hot enough, so in order to look like fiery diva, she chose to go for cosmetic surgery, now the result. She got something done with her nose and cheek bones and the ultimate look turned out to be of someone who is trying to open her eyes but couldn't.....that was funny and the worst part is that she lost the offers for roles that actually required a bubbly appearance. I really can't say what kind of an expert she had consulted before going in for the surgery, that the result came out such disastrous. So, the question still remains about how useful cosmetic surgery is in reality?
  2. Well, in that regard, I would say that I use the cell phone purely for the purpose of communication, so that my own people don't spend their time worrying about me and nor do I want to be in their shoes. Probably the teenagers are mostly into exploring the other uses of the phones. On another point i would like to discuss a bit, I think all cell phone cameras are not that hopeless, some of them can produce stunningly good pictures. Have a look at This. The cell phone has proven to be extremely useful in my life as I stay a long distance away from my family, but what you point about the extreme adherence to cell phones is absolutely true. It is not just harmful to health both physical and mental, but is equally irritating, though occasional use of special features can be interesting. I really hope people learn to use the cell phone in the rightest manner and derive the right benefit of it.
  3. Oh! so you are a doctor in the making,I thought you were already one, however, I wish you loads of luck for going through this "harsh" phase smoothly.
  4. As a remarkable step to keep children away from junk food, the children's entertainment giant has decided to go ahead with the banning of advertisements that promote junk food. They believe if the child doesn't come across any of such ads, then it will stay away from having junk stuff. The decision received appreciation from the First Lady of U.S., Michelle Obama as she is associated with the cause of children's health. According to the parameters set by Disney,600 calories should be present in a full meal. Some food items which have considerably high sugar and sodium content would not be aired anymore on ABC stations of Disney,Disney XD,Radio Disney and the official website of Disney. A proposal by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in New York suggests that drinks which are not considered healthy should not be in supply at the frequently visited areas like movie theaters and restaurants. Some of the popular products which wouldn't be approved are Capri Sun Juice and Oscar Mayer Lunchables. The guidelines of nutrition was introduced by Disney in 2006, though in its policy, some concession was provided for special occasions. Moreover, meals that can be categorized under junk food, wouldn't be accompanied by toys that are characters in Disney movies. Applying the idea that children would themselves be a part of the initiative, "Mickey Check" would act as the sign of approval. There has been a shower of praise from various health organizations , the BBB( Better Business Bureau) and some of the renowned corporate houses like Burger KIng, Coca Cola etc. which have begun discussion on modifying their policies to make children consume healthy food. 5. Hmmmm, that is an enlightening analysis, good to know that the world would have people like you to support dedicated research in the medical field, we really need that you know, for there have so many cases which have made people lose trust on the doctors. I hope that is regained. Good luck.
  6. The al-Qaeeda has run into a state of terrible shock. The second lead of the terrorist organization, Abu Yahya al-LIbi,was killed in a drone attack at North Waziristan, in Pakistan. This comes as an added drive to shake the foundation of the group after the al Qaeeda chief Osama bin Laden was killed. According to the U.S. military officials, al-Libi was an active contributor to the plans meant for devastation in the west, and the loss of his leadership attributes would be strongly felt by the group. He attained such a position for his laurels in religion and had the say in in generating "fatwas" alongwith providing consent and leading the group in the path of terror operations. The attack was the 21st of its kind in Pakistan, with the dropping of six missiles on the militant area bordering Afghanistan. Al Libi was the ambassador of the organization on the internet and had sound mastery over religion. Whatever was uttered by him in the videos, actually had the motive of pulling more members for his group, as they had been reportedly losing strength and having a hard time facing U.S. attacks. As those videos were threatening for the U.S.,they issued a "Wanted" notice for the al-Libi under the "Rewards for Justice" program and the sum was a staggering $1 Million. al-Libi was also known to put efforts for creating a base in Libya with the purpose of so called "Jihad" and issued provocative messages on the internet. Many of the "JIhadis", however refused to believe that al-Libi is no more , as another claim of al_Libi being killed was falsified a few years ago. Source
  7. I guess you haven't been able to get my point exactly, I said that emotions have an effect on the heart, brain is the cause of that effect, not the effect itself, I totally understand when you state about the functions of the brain, but the article that I linked was about how emotions that are generated or whatever technical term for that, by the brain, and they cause some effect on the heart which at times does get noticeable, moreover the topic was about how emotions can be related to the heart, so are effects not to be taken as something to be related?
  8. On Monday, one of the members of the British Royalty,Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and the British monarch's husband was admitted to the King Edwards VII hospital in London. He is reportedly suffering from some sort of infection in his bladder. At the hospital,he would be staying under observation for some time. As the Diamond Jubilee of the Queen's reign was celebrated, the couple--- Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth were out in the bitter cold which became the matter of discussion for many and the concern was about how the effect of the weather would come out on them. Prince Philip has had a number of issues recently, like prior to the last Christmas, when he experienced problems of a blocked artery. Earlier he had complaints regarding infections in the chest and in the bladder as well. According to the palace officials,Prince Philip was rushed to the hospital on Monday, after he expressed that he wasn't feeling well. The Queen would be attending the rest of the Jubilee celebrations, without her husband as he would get treated at the hospital.
  9. I know that there are many across the globe who have got bi-polar disorder, I recently got tested online and found out that I too had this disorder, though i do not trust that completely but the symptoms mentioned were quite like a few that I have, not just me but most people I know tend to show some of those symptoms and the worst part is that not many of us know about it and so the proper kind of measures for treatment are not taken.
  10. Actually that would totally depend upon the fact what influence the game casts on a particular individual, there might be cases where after a break up, one of the partners goes into a state of depression while the other moves on as if nothing happened, the difference lies in the effect something has on someone. The man in question probably had an extreme engaging influence and so that happened. Nevertheless, starving for days just to cling on to a game sounds a bit too much.
  11. Another effect that I have noticed among the upcoming generations that grow far more mature than their actual age. They tend to talk in a way that makes us feel that they might have ended learning too much from the internet and quite often shock with statements about some crucial issues and utter language that is no way considered to be decent. I don't say that internet is the only cause but has a substantial role to play in that regard. I repeat that the parents and their children need to be interact and solve the issues in a manner that is the least violent.
  12. Undoubtedly, it is better to invest ideas to develop new methods of creating goods and services at such rates that people with average incomes(by average I mean not out of the high income group),can also take a shot at buying them, .........money actually here remains no more than resources to achieve that end and when the most of the commodities can be bought at a reasonable cost, then more people can be termed as rich.
  13. Of course, that is an issue of prime concern nowadays, the children almost tend to lose their childhood trying to deal with the pressure, mostly from the family itself to excel in any competition they face, else they would be responsible for bringing utter disgrace to the family,as a teacher I would encounter such cases and tried a bit of counseling with them. In the corporate sector, competition seems to have taken the importance like that of blood in human body. The lives of the professionals associated with the corporate has been transformed into that of an android.
  14. Sheepdog is right here, quality matters more than quantity, but the tough part here is the selection of friends, I have a good lot of friends and as far as I remember, most of them had become friends with me by a matter of chance, like they were friends of my brothers who were older to me or my sisters friends who were far younger. Before I could form opinions about them they had turned my friends, and I really cherish my friendship. About the question asked, I would say it feels great to have a lot of friends not ruling out the fact that some of them can be really irritating.
  15. That is an interesting test indeed.I had it tried for myself and got results which are this way
  16. I think it is advisable to proceed from a practical point of view, there are chances certainly that if mercy killing is legalised, people are likely to take undue advantage of it. like someone who could be cured is killed in the name of mercy instead to grab his/her property, on the other hand, when a person is found to be suffering immensely, and the medical reports do not show scope for improvement, it should be legal if the doctor or someone who is entitled to do that decides to go for it rather than merely watching a patient experience unbearable pain. There should be absolutely limited interference of religion or social norms in this matter, as pain and suffering is entirely individual.
  17. I would join the league of the people who have got jobs. I have worked with varied profiles to my credit, and I do not know how most of them have turned out to be satisfactory, in terms of learning experiences and financial growth. I admit that there was a little struggle in the beginning, but I somehow ended up cherishing all the time that I spent in establishing my career and now I enjoy my current job as a content developer with a web designing company,to the fullest.
  18. For me English has been my all time favourite.I have also attained my Master's degree in the same language, it is used widely and almost has become the global language. Besides that, the factor that matters the most is that I had inherent interest in the language and that was satisfied when I got to have a detailed study on the structural basics and the history of the language.
  19. Sometimes it does happen that if you listen to the kind to the music that you really like while studying, it might take to diverting your attention from studies or that might work to tighten you up as music for some act as source of energy. As far as my pick is concerned, I am a die hard fan of any genre of music and do sing a bit myself even while studying or working, I really enjoy music which is more on the softer side in these cases, it in fact helps me concentrate better and helps preventing my brain getting overloaded an ultimately turning clueless or confused.
  20. Neil Patel, the dynamic founder of KISSmetric and Crazy Egg,a 27 year old smiling icon of Indian origin has worked out his plans about the issue that generally arouses concern for many.He has chosen a luxury hotel--The Hyatt Hotel, located in Seattle to be his residence of convenience. The account that he provides for his unusual pick is that he has a tightly packed work schedule and has to go on for stretches of hours weekly. There are advantages further, as he hasn't got any of the household chores to trouble him,all of that is well taken care of by the hotel staff. Mr. Patel states that as he had been travelling extensively in the past years,it wasn't a novel idea for him to put up at hotels. The hotel in its turn provides a lot of complimentary services to the gentleman, besides all the top class facilities available for the regular guests. He is full of praise for the arrangements in the hotel for the guests' comfort. Another striking pull factor would be the fact that the hotel can be used on the professional level also,to conduct conferences and make room for corporate meetings or meetings over meals. Although, Mr. Patel finds it more than ideal to shower his attention on the expansion of his business, he admits that a hotel will ultimately fail to serve the end of being a warm and perfect accommodation for a closely knit institution like family. 21. The point that you bring to focus is a right one, however what I feel is that there is a relation between emotions and the heart, it is the effect that emotions can have on the heart. Some of the effects may be instantaneous, others take time to influence the proper functioning of the heart. Just found this information, felt like sharing with you.
  22. As a matter of fact, I am not a vegetarian, though i am allergic to sea food. In India, on certain occasions we have to go for vegetarian food, that is what I was talking about. However you are right in saying that vegetables have a lot of nutritional elements and should invariably be included in one's diet, thankfully my husband does take care of that. Eggs can be a good source of protein, so my has advised me to have them in breakfast. But if given a choice, I would have them throughout the day.
  23. The First Lady of America, Michelle Obama brings her fun side out in the book "American Grown:The Story of The White House Kitchen and Garden Across America". The book will be put on sale today. Mrs. Obama discusses about how her kitchen garden has managed to grow only five pumpkins that too in the course of three years. She terms the cantaloupes in her garden as Another interesting feature in the book is that the beehive at White House stands really close to the President Obama's basketball court. The book is ornamented with well-photographed examples of the garden's produce with images of the family dog,Bo. Besides recipes, the book focuses on a serious matter of concern,i.e.,child obesity. With sound statistics, provided by an Army person,it includes varied ways of tempting children to healthy eating, and adopting exercise into their daily regime. The list of acknowledgements includes several people along with the staff that takes care of the White House kitchen and garden. The stress on physical activity is intensified as Mrs. Obama supports the same with her going for 142 hula hoop revolutions on the South Lawn.A photograph of this can be found in this section. Crown Publishing Group is the publisher of the book and the proceeds reportedly would be going to National Parks Foundation. Source
  24. I remember having pizza which was known as chicken Hawaii pizza, it was full of pineapples with very little chicken in it. The taste was awful, it was like sweet, smelt like a piece of pineapple cake, however the recipe that you put forward definitely sounds that the results would make me happy. Well could you tell me whether it could be had with something other than mashed potatoes, I mean something that is more filling?
  25. I completely agree with you when you say that nothing can be worse than the fact that an educated girl has to carry a heavy volume of dowry, but even if the girl is not educated, taking dowry does not stand to make sense. The friend of yours that you are talking about, should take a step for herself, that might be the way that her education would be of real help.I would differ slightly from what you you state about women sacrificing and compromising,I can list cases where the woman in the family has chosen to pursue her career shifting attention from whatever is going on in the family and how does that make sense? Revolutions for educating women never meant to make women run away from their responsibilities. Even if a woman choose to take a break from work to take care of the requirements of her family, how is that to be termed as sacrifice or compromise?? Being educated doesn't mean only to aspire to become an ambitious professional but to become a human being of substance, the matter stated here can be also taken as a matter of choice.
