The news of Apple suing Samsung over patent issues is a much hyped story. But now its Apple's turn to face the same kind of allegations. Taiwan University has decided to go ahead with a suit against Apple stating that the tech giant had, with its Siri intelligent assistant, had violated its patent rights. In 2011, a voice activated assistant technology was developed by Apple as it launched the iPhone4S and that has brought in the dispute over the patent issues. The university named Cheng Kung University, has a team headed by Wang Jhing-fa, which claimed that Apple could be charged with infringement issues of two of its patents which deal with speech recognition, the same technology that Apple used for its iPhone 4S. The team from the university is into designing chips and neural networks that support the technology of speech recognition. Apple's Taiwan wing hasn't made any comment on this issue yet. Another similar suit was filed over the Siri intelligent assistant, with similar allegations that it works the same way as it does in Apple's iPhone 4S.this time it was done by a Chinese tech company. The companies that have achieved so much regarding the progression of technology have somehow turned their focus towards spending time and money in suing one another over patent issues. Source

As the Grand Olympic event was declared open, the officials concerning the same event in India got infuriated over a matter. What usually happens is, a particular nation sends a contingent to represent itself at the event and the participants are supposed to dress in a pre-decided style. Same was the case with the Indian team, the male participants had blue blazers on them with yellow turbans and their female counterparts were dressed in yellow sarees. They all had identity cards around their necks, but the there was a twist which didn’t turn to be pleasant for the Olympic Committee nor for the participants. A lady in a red hoody and turquoise pants was spotted walking with Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar, the flag bearer of the Indian contingent. This was taken as offensive by the Olympic authorities in India and they stated it to be a result of poor security, though there was no threatening activity on the woman’s part. However the woman was identified to be a volunteer who had come to participate in the opening ceremony. It was considered inappropiate for her to walk with the Indian players and officials and was frowned upon by everyone. The results that I got for myself appeared to be shocking at the first sight, a little later I was busy laughing away at the results, but when my family got to know about the results, they felt that the results were close to correct. Probably I have too much of the disorder to realize that for myself and as the members of my family have to bear with my abnormal behavioural traits, they could be the best judge of how correct the test is.

The day has finally arrived when the much anticipated sports event, the Olympics are about to get started by the afternoon of the 27th of July, Friday in London. The city has undergone a noticeable transformation in course of preparing for the event. The Olympic events will take place in 28 venues. The architects have cone a commendable job in transforming the London Olympic Park from a unusable lying land to a eye-pleasing venue for the Olympics. It was indeed a challenge for the designers to work on that location because the place met a number of roads, waterways which generated pollution, junkyards and rail lines which have not been used for quite some time. The most challenging part was to link this part with the rest of London. They made developments like cleaned up waterways and pedestrian bridges. After, the event, the Park would be handed over to the local people which would ultimately turn into a hub for offices, housing projects and community markets. The transformation can be better understood with these images

The Hellenic Olympic Committee has decide to drop athlete Paraskevi Papachristou from the Greek Olympic team. The reason is the offensive comment she passed on the African immigrants. She left the comment on twitter which said that The athlete is a triple jumper who like all the other participants carried the dream of winning a medal at the event to be triggered on Friday. Papachristou, however apologised for the comments she made on the social media, but that ended up inviting criticism from people worldwide along with the fury of the political groups of Greece. According to them, the comment was utterly racial and was close to making fun of the concerned nationality and none of the parties were in a mood to ignore the matter that could lead to become a hindrance to international relations. The athlete said she didn't realize that her comment would result arousing such fury that she would have to forgo the ultimate ambition of participating and winning in the sports extravaganza. Source

A court in Germany has issued orders that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 would face a ban from sale across Europe as it was found that the product of Samsung violates the design patent of Apple's iPad.The tablet of Samsung which is bigger in size,Galaxy Tab 10.1N has been allowed to be sold. In the later part of last year, Samsung faced restrictions from the court when it decided that Samsung Germany was not the same as Samsung Korea, the Korean wing could sell the products across Europe.Somewhat a similar situation, had risen again yesterday when the court declared that Samsung Germany was the local branch of Samsung Korea and had to meet a ban on selling the Galaxy Tab 7.7. Galaxy Tab 10.1N which made its way escaping the ban, had to handle a similar situation last year when the earlier version Galaxy Tab 10.1 was banned in Germany as it bore resemblances with Apple's iPad Community Design.Following that Samsung made noticeable changes in the structure of the Tablet and updated the model name to Galaxy Tab 10.1N and it passed through. Samsung, however, has been considering to appeal against the verdict made by the German court. Source

I agree on what you say about books that they are not reliable to the fullest. There has been engaging debates over the authenticity of the facts mentioned even in the Bible, some of the examples can be well found on this forum also.Actually, all the sources of information are developed by the human mind itself,so it is much prone to contain errors. Moreover, what happens is that if more than one authors contribute to a single source, it is likely to carry all of their varied views and result in confusing the reader.

On July 20 th, in Aurora, Colorado, a gunman dressed in black, went insane enough to open fire in a movie theater killing reportedly more than 12 people and injuring several more. Nothing has been specified about the shooter, but some sources have reported that he thought himself to be the "joker" that is a highlighted character in the film. The families which suffered the losses are for certain not in a condition to spray the accused with questions but I do have a question to ask. As i ran into the news,I came across a link that lead to a timeline which showed mass shootings randomly picked up, from the post World War II era to the recent one. Most of the victims hardly knew their killer, but not just them but their families also suffered. Most of the culprits on the other hand, were found to be insane or declared to be so, some of them had victimized their own families as well. The point that really makes me wonder and boils up my blood at the same time is the fact that these barbaric beings might have had a troublesome life and not received support from their families, but what drives them to the point that they take a gruesome step of massacring the lives of any random persons that they come across which sometimes include women and children also. In yesterday's incident, a four month baby was injured, isn't that shocking? What makes the person ignore the cries of such an innocent being? Probably psychologists would answer that better, but analysis can neither the people who lost their lives back nor would that help to prevent the occurrence of such incidents, because as far as I have heard, many of the individuals who suffer from lack of stability in their mental health do not show the symptoms very often. What's your view regarding incidents of such brutality?

Do you trust the information that is available on the internet? One of the primary reasons for people clinging to the internet is to find information. But how many of us, in essence, believe that the information obtained is worth relying? Some of the surveys conducted recently have shown that people somehow find it difficult to go by the data that is uploaded over the internet.A few of the probable reasons could be the priority given to the factor of promotion. Even if we consider the examples of well known informative sites, the data doesn't seem to be updated. Also, there could be chances of misuse of information disclosed over the internet and the internet and the internet and the hardware concerned could also face security issues. However, the professional networking sites could be in a better state, as filling up inaccurate information could invite a trouble from one's previous employer.Talking about myself, I normally do resort to the internet for finding suitable information, but there have been instances where two sites give out varied information and all I am left with is confusion. Though I can't rule out the fact that i have received useful information from the internet quite a few times, still there is an element of suspicion that prevails. What do you guys feel about the reliability of the internet?

I have often heard people saying that love bases heavily on the factor of trust, what I feel is it is that the factor of loyalty should precede trust. When you say that you love a person that means you should be loyal to him/her. If you can't and then go ahead to fall for another person, then probably you should give yourself some time understanding the depth of love.Regarding the question of loving two people, you are actually not in love with either of them.

Another dramatic effect to the patent war as has been discussed in another topic, about how Apple and Samsung have been busy handling incidents of bad blood between them, a court has issued as a verdict that Samsung's Galaxy Tablets have not infringed the copyright associated with the features of Apple's iPad. Judge Colin Birss didn't favor Apple's claim as he himself felt that there could be no violation of patent issues as Samsung's product was "not as cool as" Apple's. What actually came as a blow to Apple was the fact that the order from the court contained a part which said that Apple had to issue a statement on its website and some other newspapers and magazines in the U.K., informing the people that Samsung had done no offensive violation of their "intellectual property" in producing their tablets. According to the legal side defending Apple, if this step was taken, it would result in creating promotional ventures in favour of Samsung and it wasn't desirable for any company to indulge in publicity for its competition in business.Apple, however has been considering appealing against the verdict given. And The Patent Wars Keeps Going On And On And On...
ritu replied to manuleka's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I didn't know that experienced people from Microsoft, Apple and Samsung work together to produce technological excellence, could you please specify what project you are referring to? I am really curious about the outcome that would be the result of the joint endeavors of the masters of technology. -
That sounds pretty healthy! In addition to the retired army persons, the civilians should be made well aware of the benefits of organic farming. As they get educated, they will be able to make sure to buy products which have been produced by organic farming and for this to happen further smoothly, the farmers have to be provided with training and support financially and technically. I really hope that an economy which is constituted majorly by the agricultural sector, manages to receive profits of the same magnitude of its contribution.

That's exactly the point I wanted to make.It is hard to believe that successful and established organizations like Apple and Samsung can indulge into such petty activities diverting a lot of time and money simply to be wasted. They could have motivated their people to strive for convenience and advancement in the features, so that the worrying factor could have taken a back seat.Further what is this suing business going to bring them except negative publicity? probably they believe in "Any publicity is good publicity"

Science Is A Good Servant But A Bad Master An essay i wrote.
ritu replied to nakulgupta's topic in Science and Technology
The fact is observed abusing the powers derived through science can be viewed from another perspective also. Imagine a nation's army which purely focuses on the maintenance of their own land in terms of peace and security, if they get advanced scientific equipments developed, then that would be for the betterment of the nation itself. However, history has cited enough to support what Quatrux said .... probably wars have helped evolve science to a large extent. -

That is funny! these tech giants decide to spend so much of time and money to drag each other into such issues, that is incredible indeed, they can shift their attention with the same amount of time and money and develop a bit of advanced technology. Moreover, just on the basis of co-incidence, can there be no similarities between two devices which have been developed in the same era, to serve the same kind of purposes, then there could be possibilities of both of them having somewhat similar features, it can be all left to the consumer to decide for the consumers to decide for themselves depending on their requirements and convenience of use. -
The army chief of North Korea, Ri Yong Ho, has been "relieved" from his post as he is facing health issues. However, some concealed internal power struggle could be smelled in this event. The chief was known to be a close associate of the son of North Korean leader Kim Jong II.Kim Jong's son Kim Jong Un succeeded his father after the latter's death. The 69 year old Ri Yong Ho had a substantial role in helping Kim Jong Un to attain power after his father's death and Ri also held some important positions in the administration of the country, like that of the Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' party of Korea. Analysts assume that this decision could involve the tensions of conflicts between the military and the civilian elite of the country. Another possibility that was expressed was the influence of Kim Jong Un's uncle Jang Song Taek as he might be making efforts in getting people out of his way,who could prove to be creating obstacles for him in the path of attaining absolute control. Ri was reportedly seen at the celebrations of the 100th birth anniversary of Kim II Sung, the founder of the nation and didn't look like he was doing well with his health. However, in spite of the rumors of internal conspiracies, no evident signs of such has been shown. source
