  1. I've never tried Xisto myself, although the plans look kind of similar.I like Xisto. The amount of support you receive and the way they run their credit system is superb. I also love this forum community. I find it hard to post on forums, cos i'm the kind of person who doesn't know what to say, but on here, I just can't stop myself posting.I'd vote Xisto definitely!
  2. Do you think that England deserved to qualify for the World Cup 2006 soccer/football tournament knockout next year?Personally, I think it was kind of flukey, the way they only won because the other team lost yesterday.I don't like England's manager Sven Goran Erikkson. Even the commentator during the Northern Ireland match started abusing this manager guy, rightly so.I feel that if England get rid of this manager and get someone who's better at doing his job, then I reckon the team would be pretty much successful, most of the time. This is only my opinion though
  3. I only really use Msn Messenger and AOL instant messenger nowadays. I do have a yahoo account, but don't use their messenger anymore because I find it somewhat more complicated than any of the other messengers.I use msn much more than aim as I have most of my contacts on msn and I like the winks and the smileys. Aim contains a few more contacts, but generally, I don't like it, i find it basic compared to the new msn messenger. This is my general view.
  4. From GCSE basic biology, life is when an organism is capable of looking after itself and doing the following.movingrespiringsensitive - being able to respond to changes in its habitat.growreproduceExcretionNutritionIf something has all these characteristics, then it can be classed as having a 'life'.This is the simplest definition direct from English GCSE (see, you do learn stuff in school )You could say i've got a life!
  5. I agree, these words are nothing but a nuisance. I have been brought up not to swear, so therefore, i only really swear, not majorly, when I'm really wound up.I hate these songs nowadays that consist of many swear words, nearly every other word is a swear word.I, personally, don't feel that this is how humans should act. We should all respect one another and be polite and not use offensive words.
  6. Yep there is.Okay, i don't quite know how to explain, but these are the basics.Sql injections involve performing unauthorized sql commands such as 'delete `tablename`'; Well, in an attempt to stop these, what you need to do is 2 main things, there are others i believe although can't remember them.1) firstly make sure that you haven't got majorly changable sql like "truncate `$table`";2)use two quotes instead of one for forms which the user can type on, this helps greatly.I learnt php at school ages ago, so am sure this is right. Sorry if it's not.Hope this helps.
  7. Personally, and i've always said this, I believe that web accelerators are a walking equivalent of spyware or adware. They do exactly what they claim not to do. All you're doing really, is caching your page straight to the web accelerator's website. This means that other people instead of you can view the page your viewing. Therefore, this opens up security risks with information you don't want others to see, especially if you forget to turn it off.Like someone else said a few posts ago. Why bother with these 'junky' programs when you can just upgrade your internet speed - the internet doesn't cost a lot of money anymore. The modern age of computing is these wap mobile phones and stuff like that. This is my opinion anyway, that the programs aren't worth bothering with.
  8. Personally, I'm similar to the rest of you by the sounds of things.I don't mind cuddling, even though i'm a guy, but I would only cuddle if the girl actually wanted to cuddle. I wouldn't just approach a girl and fling my arms around her. Not only is that not nice, but can also frighten some of the sensitive females.
  9. I very good program I also use to make sure that my computer is safe or viruses once in a while, is called Toniarts, Easycleaner. This program allows you to manually scan your registry for known problems as well as to scan your computer for uneeded files and duplicates if you wish.I believe you can also view which programs load at startup and the add-remove-programs list, although these definitely exist in a program called winpatrol.I use both of these programs. They certainly helped when i had the spyware problems.Hope this helps
  10. Hey there.I live in England and I was also brought up in England.I live towards the South- east end of the country :huh:I live in the same county as melkonianarg, Kent. (
  11. I used to love playing halo, driving aruond in those extremely dangerous vehicles.Unfortunately, this computer doesn't seem to want to load halo so I can't play it anymore.I can't see why you guy's think its rubbish but ah well, we all have our own opinions. I like counterstrike too, just prefer halo overall
  12. My favourite football team is Leeds United, an English team in the Coca Cola Championship. My favourite player has to be Heely, his goal for Northern Ireland against England was fantastic.Come on Leeds!
  13. I live in England and go to a college in Kent. It's a lovely little place and includes all the subjects which I need in order to continue progressing on through my career.
  14. At my old school, they were constantly watching the websites we were viewing and if a swear word or racist word popped up, the computer guys in the control centre would be alerted and we would be called up to receive a telling off. I never got tolf off of course but I know other people who have.I feel the filter's go a little bit over the top. If they don't want us to play games, why bother filtering the website. Why can't they just temporarily disable the internet untiol we have free time?Anyway, netsend was blocked at my old school, tried it myself once. Someone left the password for 'admin' as 'password' so my friend informed me. I guess this was rather stupid.Anyway, there are other nifty little commands you can use, i've forgotten most of them now though
  15. yeah, it sounds simple, but in reality it's a lot harder than this. For example, when it comes to problems, the blame is all turned to you. You're the one who's responsible for your hosting. It's down to your personality. If you're a person who wants to do it and is prepared to take risks, like mentioned above and you have enough money to lose then there's no problem in doing it.In fact, if you're to start a free hosting site then I wish you all my luck!I offered hosting ages ago and it was a polava!
  16. Haha, some of these threads are fantastic the way they sound unreal, yet incredible.I wish for them to be vanilla myself. That's my favourite flavour! But a bit of strawberry wouldn't go a miss :huh:Stuff like this really will exist in the future. Modern technology nowadays is going far beyond we could have ever imagined. All thanks to the invention of a computer
  17. Yeah, apparently the playstation3 has better quality, both graphical and video than the other consoles. It sounds to be one of the consoles of the future.Does the new playstation still use memory cards though? IF so, then I still feel the xbox will be a better value.I'm not really a console game player, but my friend is a fanatic. He has near enough every console that exists. I occasionally go down to his house to play the games.Anyhow, i'd imagine both of these consoles are near enough on par with each other. That's my opinion anyway.
  18. When I had this blue screen before, I managed to somehow boot from the windows xp CD and use the repair function then do a system restore. I don't know whether it'll work for you, but worth a try i suppose. If you done this, you wouldn't lose anything.Otherwise, try booting it up in safe mode (press f8 when it loads).Hope this helps :-)
  19. Yeah, i agree with many of you, the adverts take up the majority of the screen and are definitely not user friendly.Geocities was the first webhosting site i was ever shown. I was shown it by an I.C.T teacher at primary school when i was about eight years old.Of course, then, I didn't know that webhosts without adverts existed, so as soon as I found out, when I was about eleven, I moved as quickly as possible. But anyway, for a site like yahoo, competing with freewebs, i believe that the adverts put off a lot of clients from signing up.I may be wrong though. Anyway, my opinion is that their adverts spoil the service, they should use alternative means of getting money.
  20. This topic will explain how you can view who's currently connected to your computer and how to view your main computer settings for internet usability. Note: this will probably be pretty basic stuff to people who are into computers, but this is likely to help for those people who are interested in finding out more info about their internet connection but don't know a lot about how to find it out. Well, on windows xp and I believe earlier systems (I only use xp) there's a nice little program called netstat, which isn't a win32 (windows) program really. It runs in an application/operating system called Dos. To execute this progra,/operating system, you need to click on Start, then click on Run, then type 'cmd' (without the quotes). To view current network connections: Load up the Dos Command prompt (Start>>run>>cmd) then type 'netstat /n'. This will list all the ips (foreign ips) that are connected to your own computer (local ip). If you would like more information about the foreign ip, such as host name, perform the same task as above but don't use the /n, just use 'netstat'. If you would like to view information about what your local ip is, you can perform another command, but this time using the ip configuration wizard. To do this, load up dos (Start>>Run>>cmd) then type 'ipconfig /all' (without the quotes). This will then show all information abuot your local computer settings, such as your local ip settings. If you want just your local ip, then just type 'ipconfig' at the dos prompt. A final task you may wish to perform is to check your isp's 'external ip', which is the ip address found to websites when you access them. A nice site showing your ip is whatismyip.com. I hope this helps those people who are interested but didn't know how to do it
  21. Yeah.Someone who lives near me also bought a netgear router and said that he has had nothing but trouble since. After several hours of trying he gave it up as a bad job, requested for a refund and bought an alternative make of a router. When he went out to find a better router, he found one for exactly the same price, but he got a free technical support contract so he was able to telephone the people who know how to set it up and they guided him through the installation.Personally, I don't use netgear and never have done, but I can only say what my friend said. Hopefully, they're not like this really, the company, but with the complaints i've already seen on here, I thought it was quite relevant to post past experiences.Thanks.
  22. Ouch...I live in England so don't experience these Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Tsunamis as I live nowhere near tectonic plates. However, I keep hearing about America and Asia and other places which do experience these natural disasters and I can't stand hearing about all these people dying. After studying Geography throughout my GCSES a couple of years ago when studying the natural hazards i must say that it's just unlucky. The technology is always improving nowadays and the predictions are getting more and more accurate. It is my belief that in the future, predictions will be faster and more accurate and will enable more warning. This will mean less deaths and we will probably be able to withstand more of these natural hazards
  23. Network Setup: Newbie Install Click start, then right click computer Ensure that the full computer name is memorable and that each machine is on the same workgroup. After you've done this, you are ready to configure advanced features, such as file and printer sharing. Adding a Printer Locally Firstly, you need to configure your printer (on the machine which is directly connected to the printer) for printer sharing. Click start, control panel, printers/scanners, then right click on your local printer and click 'properties'. Browse to the sharing tab, check 'share this printer' and specify a share name, such as EPSON or PRINTER. Finally, click APPLY. Remotely Click start, control panel, printers/scanners then add printer. (On the remote machine (the machine which have the wireless card/adaptor)). Next, check the 'network printer' option. Check the 'connect to this printer' circle then enter the following, without the quotes, entering details which are in brackets. "\\(COMPUTERNAME)\(PrinterShareName)" Click next, select the relevant printer from the list then follow the rest of the onscreen instructions. File Sharing On the file server (computer which has the files you wish to share) click START, CONTROL PANEL, Network connections, right click your connection and click properties. Ensure that the file sharing box is ticked. If it isn't, tick it then click apply. Adding Shortcuts To Desktop Browse to desktop, right click an empty space, and click new, then shortcut. In location of file, enter \\ComputerName\SharedDocs (WHERE computername is the name of the file server) IF it cannot find it, ensure that your shared documents folder is called SharedDocs. (Which it is by default) Finally, click next and follow through the rest of the onscreen instructions. ---- Final note: the workgroup must be the same on all computers.
  24. Thanks a lot, I will have a look into downloading this GIMP program. I've heard of it before actually, but never actually forced myself to download it. I'd imagine it would be quite good as it was one of the programs we got told about in our basic I.C.T course at school a few years ago.I agree that the picture of the man looks a little bit like a joke. I will be changing this when I can actually force myself to spend another hour or so at imaging - I'm not a professional imager so it takes my quite a while.I was thinking about making those navigation images more like buttons, which I believe would make the site stand out better than it is at the moment. The site is a project in progress, my first domain name, so things are progressing rather slowly. Eventually the colour schemes will be the same on both the site and the forums. Thanks for your criticism and opinions, they're very much appreciated. Thanks!
  25. yep, same as others.A very nice template but I hate the frames, they look ugly and kind of make your page look unfriendly. You could do as someone said above and use the <?php include "file.htm"; ?> function or just use table cells. Both would be as good. It's not only google that can't read links in frames, but also, older internet browsers, such as webtv and some browsers on less user friendly computer types can't support frames due to compatability or security reasons.Other than this, I like your site design, keep up the good work!
