virtual dub is great! does everything you need very simply (hopefully everything you need). then if you need to edit the audio, strip it from the video and put it into audacity. the problem with virtual dub si that it's almost raw video, very BIG files. you'll have to get a codec to compress the video after.

the most realistic games to me are either forza motorsport or grand turismo series.both provide almost lifelike physics to their engines...and i like all the cars. need for speed is a little too fictional and imaginary to me.

HL2 for pc is a lot better. graphics will own, speed will own, online play will own. For PC the gaming experience is completely different.anwyays im selling my hl2 account for $40. although i cant remember my password

I think consoles are only good for 2 things...DDR and Racing gamesI like the graphics produced by computers and the sound I (personally) can get. Other people may get better sound out of their TV. Either way, a computer can also do more things and that's the main reason why I love it over the consoles. (Also, I'm too lazy to plug stuff in)

I have 6 year old 2.1 Altec Lansing that sound GREAT. I actually have a fat expensive sound sysmte downstairs with harmon kardon and whatnot but i cant really hook that up toa computer. I think altec lansing is my favorite brand...except Stax...but they only make 2000 dollar headphones. Oh the side I have Audio Technica headphones which sound very nice, but kinda hollow.

just buy a new graphic card and stick in it and disable the integrated one. (or else go to fry's get a cpu/motherboard combo for like 200 bucks comes with 3200+ maybe even 3400+ or 3500+ now).

Depends on airflow of the case not just the fan/heatsink on your card. Think about it, if the air coming out of your cpu is going into the fan blowing on your/your friend's graphic card, it isn't doing a good job. If you are going to get a case fan, get a big 120mm one....quiet or loud depends. Loud will move more air (usually, check the RPM) if you don't mind. Anyways a big fan in back and maybe one in front. Keeps air circulating.If you're getting a heatsink/fan cooler for you card, get a copper one, copper conducts heat much better.

mystik1337, you will RARELY get 20% increase on any processor. unless running with dry ice to cool it down, it's not really that easy to do that. You can probably go between 10-20%. Anyways a good way to increase the speeds of your processor is to lower the ram timings to make them a bit more loose, so that they can run at higher mhz.

i think usb drives are almost useless. just connect lan or else upload onto a server.

To get popups like that, you're probably on IE, i got the same thing before. just get a new browser and make it your default (AHEM AHEM...firefox..). IE popups all stop instantly like that. (But you'll still have adware, just won't notice it but it's eating your power).

cars can also go under water if you close the intake and brine a fat pipe from the intake to the top of the car. a saw many offroad trucks and buggies do this. therefore no air gets into the car while the car still gets cooled down.
