  1. I have some quarts crystals lying around mt room. I'm going to use two to under/over clock an analogue clock. The other thing I want to do, and tried already, is produce sound. The one about the clock will be simple, just replace the supplied quartz. I just need help getting the sound to work. schematics would be nice. Thanks for any help.
  2. I figured it out, the timer is bad. Used a new timer and it works. BTW, if anyone knows about the sensor kit from RS, does the LED display run on logic or analogue?
  3. Yea. Pretty much. Something like Nazareth's "This Flight Tonight". song:"Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?" me:"No."
  4. I'm trying to find songs that'll be good to listen to at night. Things like Phil Collins's "In the Air Tonight", or Cold Play's "Speed of Sound". Any suggestions?

That siren is far enough away that the only way I could hear it, I would have to be awake.

  6. I figured it out. The controller uses alkaline only. I thought I was using the same type batteries in both, but I wasn't. The white one had Duracell alkalines, but the other had some type of heavy duty. I switched the heavy duties for alkalies and it worked.New problem though. The batteries in the white one suddenly doesn't keep connection with the controller.
  7. I don't know why. The batteries (depending on how you define new for them) are brand new, i.e., full. 99% of the times I press the trigger, it turns off. 50% of the times I turn it back on, it turns right back off. Some times, the analogue sticks and/or regular buttons also causes it to turn off. My other controller works just fine with the same brand batteries, so it's not that. What could it be?
  8. When was it today that the world was supposed to start ending?

  11. Mainly AVI and BMP. Today, and other days too, I went to upload a file to a topic response, the file selection box let me select the files I wanted. Upon clicking "upload", the site told me that those files was not "allowed". If they're not allowed/supported, why does the box let me select them? Either allow support for those files, or make the box not to allow me to select those files, please.
  12. This's what I need it to do: http://www.4shared.com/video/6G0za9yh/yenka_2011-05-17_17-21-44-648.html Remember: The LED AND switch is the same unit in real life.
  13. Didn't work. What I first tried and should've worked: WHY WON'T IT WORK?!!?
  14. The reset pin seems to be always held high, even though I GROUND it. STORY: Yesterday, I went to Radio Shack to buy a push-to-make switch and a bridge rectifier. I decided not to get the rectifier for a certain reason. Well, Radio Shack didn't have any plain old switches for less than 50 cents. They had lighted ones. I bought one with a thought in my head. It had four pins: 2 pins for the actual switch, 2 for the LED. My thought was to set it up so that when the switch (SPST) was in the "off" position, the LED was always on, but in the "on" position, the LED flashed. I knew this could be achieved with a 555 timer. I used a simulator to plan how the circuit would be built. I then build the circuit. Guess what? The circuit requires the "reset" pin to go low. That doesn't happen. How do I make the "reset" pin work?
  15. Now I'm curious as to how fast the people above me are conceptually. As in: *click*.."Oh My God, It's already loaded."
  16. Never mind. I figured it out. I didn't think about changing screen resolution. It worked though.
  17. Bet this video was fun to make for everyone.

  18. Ok, so, not too long ago, I bought a laptop for $8.00. The screen is broken. I have a monitor used as an external. When I formatted the HDD and reinstalled Windas (pronounced "wind uhs" [Windows] ), I had to use the external. Well, the internal is widescreen, but the external, uhh. Now Windows thinks the external is the internal. How to I tell Windows that the external is not the internal AND not a widescreen?
  19. OMG, I dodn't know the "AP Physics B" test would carry on over to after school is out. When testing was over, I thought we still had 10-20 minutes of school left, then I immediately found out school was out for about an hour.

  20. It seems like everyone has a birthday this month of May. In elementary school, it seemed like I was the only person on Earth with a birthday in May. Today, with the exception of one, everyone at the lunch table at school I sat at has/had one this month. One of my friends had one on the first, three people had one today, mine's on the 23rd. It's like, "Oh My God, was everyone born this month?"

  22. My physics/algebra 2 teacher is giving my an old desktop (Pentium 4). Before I actually bring it home, we need to format the primary slave HDD. The primary slave was the primary master. Yesterday, we tried to format the primary (what was then). Windows refused to format the HDD because it was using it. Today, I took the one from my PC to school to boot from that. The plan was that after booting from it, use that copy of Windows to format the HDD that was in it first. The HDD I took has two OS's on it. The PC's BIOS is not configured to handle that, so it boots from the HDD we're trying to format. How can I accomplish my goal? Actually, I have a plan that needs confirmed. Can I do this: He (my teacher) has a 3rd HDD. I think I can format it. Then I can make an exact copy of my HDD's Windows partition onto it. Then change some jumper settings and boot from the third HDD. I can then format the original HDD.
