Trillian 3.1 Basic Or Pro Overview of Trillian IM client
Unregistered 015 replied to WBBulldogs's topic in Software
It's a good program for those using more than 3 msg's. But if you use only icq or msn (or even just one of them) then I dont see a point in having trillian.Trilian uses about 15-20MB of RAM when loaded! I use it but when I run a game or several programs I have to shut it down since my computer is not runnint that smoothly. BUT it is still better solution for me since I use MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ and AOL instant massangers. -
Boosting Your Computers Speed! Using msconfig
Unregistered 015 replied to savge17's topic in General Discussion
I just want to add some more tips. Acctually it's the same but on different way. You can access services by going to control panel->administrative tools->services. There are other useful thinngs there too. Another way to find services is by typing mmc in run command (start->run->mmc).This runs Microsoft Management Console. Click File->add/remove snap-in. On standalone tab click add...New windows opens up. Here you can select a lof of snap-ins for controling the way your computer works. There are services among them too. When you click services new window opens. Just select local computer (it should be selected by default) and click finish. You can add as many snap-ins as you like, and control a lot of things from one place. -

Uses For Computers What do you guys use computers for?
Unregistered 015 replied to jae-unit's topic in Software
Computer has become my home entertainment, bussines, work and research center. I dont have a tv, I use tv tuner card. I use it for listening to FM/AM radio, but also use Internet radio stations. I use a lot of programs (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Notepad , Office, GrabIt...) for various tasks (mostly web desing and development).I watch movies on it. Ocasionally I chat and IM with friends (and people I dont even know in real). I read a lot. I've read wikipedia so far, now I'm on msn encarta and then howstuffworks and about.comWhen I need a good free hosting account I post on Xisto forum's. Since I go to college I do my asignments with it (writing documents, making presentations, reading, reading, designing...)When I have time I play games. Oh, yes, a lot of them. So far I played about 200-300 different titles (al the way to the end) and made a few of my own (text based unfortunately). I even started studying directx sdk (software development kit) for making games (part of it) but didnt have time. I hope to do it some day...That's some of the things I do. Can't remember more right now but I'm sure there are... -
Which Company Makes The Best Laptops.
Unregistered 015 replied to affhotspot's topic in Hardware Workshop
I vote for IBM too since Lenovo is the best laptop around these days. I don't know the exact model but a lot of tests I read put Lenovo on top of their list.So I guess it has to be the best. BUT if you are buying a new laptop (or new anything) you should consider wahat you think is important and what YOU need and want of it, not what others say. So I would never buy Lenovo before first "investigating" the market deeper into details. -
I see there are a lot of recommendations and I have to join. I vote for Knoppix (Live DVD). It's filled with stuff for a begginer. I'm not that unfamiliar with unix/linux systems. I used Red Hat's when it was at version 6.0. Since then I turned back to windoze, but now I sometimes boot knoppix. It comes with probably everything you wil need (including open office). It installs all the drivers (at least on my machine) without you doing any thing. I even can use my adsl connection without any aditional work. Great distro...If you want to do "tricks", however, you might want to get NavyNos, but you'll probablly find it "hard".

I think that people using companies like Microsoft just to try make some extra money. How they are gonna do that? Well, sue. It's the easiest way. I don't think anything's wrong with the console. Hardware usually woks that way. Sometimes it "freezes up". This has been an issue since the first microprocesor appeared and with it a first computer. This is going to be issue for a lot of years to come. Actually there is never going to be 100% reliable pc, console, or any piece of hardware. If you think you can make it you'd probably be a Nobel luterate.Goal is to bring these issues down to minimum, less as possible, and hope it is satisfying.

125 Yr Old Woman Sprouts New Tooth
Unregistered 015 replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in General Discussion
I don't know about you but I've heard several cases of people living over 100 years. Some happend here in Bosnia, usually rural areas. In almost ALL of the cases those folks grew new teeth! That is pretty usuall one could say, to happen at that age. I asked my profesor (who is a yogi by the way and belevies in reincarnation of some sort) about this, and he told me that he thinks it's he/she being "reborn". They have reached the toddler age again but in the same body. Pretty wierd in my opinion, but can not be neglected. If you belive that soul is "traveling" from a daying man to newborn one, then this theory might work.In any case, this happens, and is not that unusual. If you happen to get older then 100 post here if a new tooth apears in your mouth -
New Ocean Forming? Afar Desert, Ethiopia
Unregistered 015 replied to beeseven's topic in General Discussion
I hear about "ocean development" for the first time in my life. I tought that only global warming could do such a thing. Good news is that it's gowing slowlly, about 0.7-0.8 inches per year, so it's going to take a lot of time. But it might be the bad news too, since those folks in Africa desperately need water -
Researchers At University Of Michigan Have Made...

Those things are really fast! I like the idea of "parallel computation". I don't like the idea that there is no way to make one of these, yet. -
Evidence For God. The ?real? evidence for a living God
Unregistered 015 replied to wild20's topic in General Discussion
Same thing. In other words: no religion, no wars! You are happy for Christmas because you get presents. Period. Aren't presents something that has value (you use money to buy it)?! Are you happy for the money? Or because of the Christmas? I don't think it's Christmas. In my opinion religion was created by PEOPLE! Egiptians had their "gods", Romans had theirs, today we have our. Some other day, who knows, we may know more, and think how foolish we were.... -
I know about three of them. You can find them at the following sites: 1. webadmin (http://www.webmin.com/) 2. web-cp (http://www.web-cp.net/) 3. gpl.host (http://www.gplhost.com/software-dtc.html)

What Is Your Iq? Lets see how smart you are
Unregistered 015 replied to Unregistered 015's topic in General Discussion
I don't answer IQ test questions differently. I thnink no one does. If I can "see" something that is logical to me, something that makes sense today, I can do the same tomorrow, regardless of my mental state. I can recognize fibbonacci's sequence anywhere and anytime (it comes as a question in a lot of IQ tests), but I dont think it should be an IQ test question, since it's something I learnt at school...IQ test should be more "picture" oriented, but then it represents your abillity to recognize complex patterns, and do some other stuff, but not everything your brain does. Einstein had some good questions for testing intelligence. Google about that, I hope you find them... -
I can see some black border around banner font. IMHO, I think it would look better if you remove that. Give it a try. You might also make it a little bigger. Try changing its colors, too. You may find something interesting Also, you might try with a curvature (curved font, fit text to path) if you know what I mean. I don't know what software you are using but I guess it has a function like "fit text to path" (in Corel Draw) that can fit text to any curve. Shape of that curve is up to you. See where it best fits. Somekind of logo might help you to populate that "banner". Text itself is a little "empty".I hope this was helpful. Feel free to ask any questions you have.p.s. One more thing... Try adding some kind of separator (a line or something, vertical) between your menu items (home|forums|templates|etc.)

Poll: Best Games Of All Time! Bets games ever
Unregistered 015 replied to savge17's topic in Computer Gaming
I haven't played halo nor halo 2 nor doom. Only games I played from the list u made are half life 1 & 2. Good game I'd say. Anyway I think there are some better games. I like Mafia a lot, for example. I also think (when it comes to fps) that Max Payne, and Call of Duty are amon the bests. There are a lot of them...;)I have at least 10 favourites for about every genre (fps, rpg, strategy, management, etc.) -
Are you using Fantastico or those "packages" that come with cpanel? To me, looks like you do. Then forget about what those previous posters were telling you (I asume you didn't upload you site via ftp, too) and do the following: 1. go to fantastico (under preinstalled scripts) 2. choose what you want to install onto your site (e.g., phpnuke) 3. choose your root domain name (e.g. bluesierra.trap17.com) 4. enter directory name (name only) 5. enter admin username and pass 6. set up other options as you please 7. click install phpnuke (if you have chosen phpnuke) *if you didn't choose phpnuke those steps might go a different way, but I hope you'll figure it out by yourself 8. once it's done click finish Your site should be available at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, where somedir is the directory you have choosen in step 4 I hope this was helpful. If not, ask again. Sorry if I completely missed the point, and you were doing it like previous posters said.

Upgrading To Macromedia Studio 8 Is it worth it?
Unregistered 015 replied to kevlar557's topic in Software
Why dont you try "pirated" version yourself. Then if you like it, you can buy it. :POk, that was bad joke. Now, I personally think it is great. I use dreamwever only (no flash or anything). There are some improvements, and you can read a lot about them at macromedia site (and others too). Google about it. -
What do you mean by "thinking about taking it"? Is that USA school system? I dont know how that works, but over here (Bosnia) we dont have the option to choose subjects! Everybody studies everything Can you elaborate on that a little bit more? Im interested in how does it work. Are there any classes you have to attend and some optional or what? Is that high school or college?
