Everyone please sit. Let me tell you about these 3 music players i have stated here. Firstly, Windows Media Player is one heck of a music player. THe newest version - 10 has all the tools right in front of you when you start it. LIbrary, burn, rip, sync. It's all in there! Winamp? Well its basically a simple music player but because it can be skinned, many people prefer it to Windows Media Player and itunes. itunes? Well nothing much to say about it. It shows much more detail of the music in the library than Windows Media Player. Easier to scroll and search for music? I'm not sure I've only used it once when i borrowed my friend's laptop and played some music with it. Other than that nothing. Anybody who's got anything else to say about these players?

Recreating the flashy effects? Woah, this is Microsoft you're talking about dude. I'm guessing there should be at least 10 people working on just Wndows Media Player itself. Somehow the idea of tackling it yourself is a bit too crazy to think of. The way i look at it, Windows Media Player is one complex program even though it looks simple and lots of other people prefer winamp or itunes.

Hi ho all! Evion here! Some may recognize me some may not but I'm just introducing myself for the sake of confusion. Alrighty here, my nick is Evion. Well my current nick that is. I used to use techocian (why? short story - I was playing battleon.com one day when i thought of it - how silly..) but many people started thinking i was a technician so i decided to change it and so i sat on my bed and thought of a nice name. I'm usually very imaginative with names but this time i gave it a whole night's thought because i wanted this to be a forever "copyrighted" (more like nobody will ever think of it) and forever orginal than any name that was ever thought of. I picked up my pokemon handbook (lame?) and flipped through the pages, coming to the entry with Evee. That gave me the idea for Evion! The next day i was playing a MUD game called Achaea and of course i used the name techocian (I already had an account before i thought of the new name) but one of the seniors in the game told me to change my name because it doesn't GO with the atmosphere of the game. So i thought of Evion and YES i changed it. That was the first time i used that name and i felt cool i mean like Evion has a touch of "coolness" on it from tip to toe. Zip zip ok I'm talking too much. Well that's enough about my nick (follow-up to Szupie's topic on "Secret behind your nick". I'm just saying that well my bud that is also in Xisto is Xevian. I introduced him to Xisto and he joined. I'm not a very active poster I usually just feel bored and want some place to express then i start posting on Xisto. I joined quite early and stopped for a few weeks before i got back into the "job". I just moved to the U.S after staying in Singapore for a few mighty years. The air is cool here even though the summer solstice is nearing. Basically I'm bored with the days around here. My parents are eagerly trying to get a house (buy or rent) while we're staying at my cousin's house. Hope you all enjoy my stay here in Xisto after my long vacation from the net!

Based on this, does anybody realise that many people are also having the same problem with Star Wars. Firstly, it is very imaginative and this concludes the "Hey i wanna have a light saber" part of the story. Secondly, people are going madly crazy over it because of the "cool moves" and all the "cool" gadgets that the movie bestows upon the audience. I've even heard of a religion called the "Jedi" - yes, here on Earth - they believe in "the Force" (A special thing in Star Wars that enables Jedi's (In the movie not real life!) to telepathically move matter). Everyone is going Star Wars crazy and no one is here to give a stand and say something like: "Star Wars is a movie - an imagined fantasy that most probably cannot be real in our life. So ditch the imagnination and go on with your life!" Now isnt that something you would like to hear?

Hey talking about Warcraft 3 has anyone thought of the fact that you can create banshees and make them possess the "workers" of each race. Once you possess the workers, you can use them to build and train the other race's stuff. MY brother tried that once and managed to get the 3 other races altogether and formed a very formidable force. The undead may be vulnerable to light attacks by humans but they sure are very "afflictive". That reminds me. Which race do you all like the most? I personally like the night elves - well, because of their ability to see at night. I love that skill and i can stalk the whole map enemy free (they're all sleeping). In Frozen throne there is also the Warden (hero) and she is able to teleport anywhere. Trust me, the first few skill points will have to go to the teleport skill. Nothing beats that. The humans have got lots of weapons and defence at their arsenal but as for their spells... i can't say their good or bad I'm just saying humans have very weird spells that i ALWAYS forget to use during battle. Especially the sorceress's sheep changing spell! Arrgh I always forget to use that one during battle. You cannot set it to auto-cast so it's horrifyingly difficult to find a single sorceress and cast it.

Hey guys talking about this topic here, what do you guys think is better? Using file manager or Ftp? I mean, everytime i use ftp it is so slow! File manager is quite fast but you can't do much with it if you want to upload lots of files at once. Yet many people seem to use ftp more than file manager. I even edit my sites using the HTML editor in the file manager of cpanel. What is what? Which is better to use? Which is more efficient? Notice from vizskywalker: Please do not take topics off into random tangents. If you have a question and you cannot find a topic that already answers it, create your own in the proper section.

Worlds Oldest Search Engine.... And possible the worst one.
evion replied to Umbra's topic in Search Engines
You know... talking about this oldest search engine thing, what's the use of it anyways? I mean being the oldest search engine doesn't mean the website is any "cooler" or "popular". Especially aliweb.com. They state on the title bar so clearly that they are the oldest search engine<-- I'm sorry my keyboard is messed up and i accidentally pressed the "add reply" button please delete the post above. -->You know... talking about this oldest search engine thing, what's the use of it anyways? I mean being the oldest search engine doesn't mean the website is any "cooler" or "popular". Especially aliweb.com. They state on the title bar so clearly that they are the oldest search engine but their search engine doesn't work well at all. Basically it is run on advertisments and my guess is that the only way it gets people's attention is to state that it is the world's oldest search engine. Do you agree? -
Alright from the beginning i am always more of a observer for mthe sidelines. I don't really get INTO a certain topic much (although I'm REALLY interested in Graphic design). I learn stuff here and there. When I'm bored, i do some art. When I need some activity I play some basketball or something. Nothing stops me form learning and I will be so glad if someone is able to teach me the secret understanding and enjoying this type of art. I mean to me right now it is just a plain old picture of some sort of black/white face plus some weird words on the side. I don't exactly get it see? So if someone is willing to tell me sometihng about this picture I'll be glad to listen.

How Do I Create A Good Fire Animation Using Flash ?
evion replied to gamerchick39's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
OK there are lots of possibilities of what you can do in Flash if you want to make a fire effect. What i need to know though is what kind of effect would you like to create? An animation? Cartoon-like? Above all you should mention what techniques you used to try to get a good fire animation in Flash so others can help you when you try to explain your situation. Personally I would prefer Flash in the animation business. Studio max i don't really use often. So it all depends on your preference and what kinds of effect you want to create. -
Hey about this formating topic, I'm curious about my own formating problem. I was using my old Windows 98 computer one day and tried to upload some files onto a floppy disk. I got as far as pushing the floppy into the drive. After that, the computer asks me if it can format the disk. I played dumb and went along with the instructions on the screen. The whole process took a heck of a long time and when it was all done i was presented with an error message that tells me that something wrong happened during the process of formatting the disk. Game over. What did i do? Ejected the floppy disk, and slammed it back in the drive. THis time, it miraculously worked....How marvelous was that? Anybody have any ideas? Was it a driver problem?

Hi I'm just wondering about this tihng over here. I'm curious about this "downloading of music" and stuff like that from unofficial sites. If you want to download the file you go - "rightclick, save target as" right? When the file gets saved on your harddisk it is always different. Sometimes i have to load it form the internet and sometimes i get to view it without the internet on. May i know what's the problem here? I'm totally confused. Does it have anything to do with movie "streaming" or anything like that? Thanks.

Well I've seen many other sites using the same method of earning money. This site works on making people believe its free but actually have a 100mb per month limit. I agree with you all saying that it is totally based on piracy but what can you say about these kinds of services these days? They're everywhere! Kazaa, Aries, limewire.....etc..etc... But we cannot deny piracy as everyone will most definitely have a bit of that. So I'm saying that we just leave these services be as we cannot do anything to stop them and neither can we do anything to stop ourselves from joining the world of piracy.

Back to the topic on using technology to play outdoor sports, has anyone thought of technology of having an EVIL side too? OK so technology doesn't get evil by itself, it is the misuse of technology that leads it to its doom. People cheat with technology, managing to get away from crimes they commited but left no trace, changing the ball in ball games in such a way that the opponent will lose? These are all possible results of abusement of technology. Everyone might have read sci-fi books especially Star Wars and many other books. They all talk about war because of an evil side in some people which leads to war. How horrible is this?

Greenzap.com - Earn Money Online Have anyone heard of it??
evion replied to solankyno1's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well I've checked the website....it looks to professional to be a scam but the way they write out their intro....its as if the boss is so rich he wants to give away money free. Although it may not be all bad... who knows, it might be a new "money-storage on the net" revolution and everyone will start to "bank" their money on the net, will there be interest...hmmm....All in all, i guess it is worth a try since you won't have to pay any money for the service. (Do you?) -
You know looking at all your posts, it makes me wonder about the idea of having both a phone and palm in you pocket everytime you go out. First of all, having a palm in your pocket strains the weight of your body and it is so obvious that its uncomfortable. Secondly, it is also vulnerable to being a potential victim of pick-pockets, since it is so big and easy to swipe off your pocket. Phones are quite the same actually, except that they weigh less and have less features. (Exception for my mom's phone....it's a non-color phone with no memory card but it was able to hold 678 messages in it and counting...interesting huh?). You carry both plus your wallet and what do you get? bulging pockets. Some of the smart ones might have went to get a palm "bag" so you can sort of clip it onto your belt. But this makes your belt sag -> even worse. What now? Get a palm-phone? Going to have to waste your money on that AGAIN?? TEchnology is advancing at such a speedy rate and nobody has an idea of a PERFECT combination yet.... have they??

Awsome Photoshop Tutorials A great tutorial site
evion replied to IcedMetal's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Tutorials, tutorials, toutorials..... They're good to know and they're good to use in desperate times (Need to learn something fast). I've seen many tutorials throughout the web but nothing beats going to BORDERS, find the tutorial in BOOK form, sit down and read. Obviously, every tutorial book you may find in bookstores or libraries are at least 1-2 inches thick and who would want to read such a ridiculously long essay on how the pencil in Adobe Photoshop 6.0 works? This problem can be solved easily - ditch the chapter and move on to the next. But it is exactly what hurts you the most when actually going to hands-on work with Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks. Theory is good but with a whole chunk missing it might be rendered totally useless. Most tutorial books often have chapters that refer ack to previous chapters. This is good because it refreshes your mind on the topic. What about online tutorials? I'm not saying its bad but it is just basically a summarised version of the book that the author (of the online tutorial) read. Reader: OK quit the yapping and go straight to the point. Me: Better read a complete tutorial book than study an online tutorial -
Great! I was looking forward to an article about commerical web-designing. Basically you've just answered all my questions but there are many more from me. Firstly, should i charge more for the use of "third-party" applications? Lets say Flash if he wants to make the site fancy? Flash might take awhile because I'm more into graphic design than animation. Secondly, how am i supposed to as kthe customer if he/she wants a HTML, PHP, XHTML or other kinds of websites? OK so maybe i can only do HTML now but i have to learn sooner or later right? My web-design skills are quite amatuer and thats why i review many other websites like you said to enhance my knowledge on how other webdesigners captivate the viewer. When my friends ask for a website done for maybe a small club or society i usually do it for free because even if i don't make money out of it, i am also learning all the way about what kinds of websites customers like. Last but not least, I should ask when you're done with the website do you host it immediately or give a variety of hosts to show to the customer and make him/her choose. Of course a lot of features some customers with basic knowledge about the internet may not know so is it required to explain it to them? Thanks.

Good'ol FireFox! Its not a wonder how it managed to get to the 50 million mark after so many published computer books started recommending FireFox for new users as many of them say "Internet Explorer is a virus-magnet". I mean, who would not want Firefox? Its got all the cool features iexplore doesn't have. Especially themes and tabs. The small little google search at the top right-hand corner was a real goodie too if you didn't change your default Firefox homepage. OK maybe most "tollbars" don't work with Firefox but hey, FireFox has everything you need alread yright here!

Recently, my school's IT club started a "Neoprint project" to raise funds for the club. Of course, I'm in the club but i really have no idea how neoprints can help raise funds. There are so many disadvantages of doing this simple yet crazy business. Firstly, the whole process including moving the picture of the people to the "theme" is a less than 2min process. Yet, the whole IT club will take approximately 1 month to process all the photos. This is truly a very long time and nobody will want to wait THAT long for a neoprint that only takes about a minute to be done outside at shopping malls. Sure the club guaranteed that the price will be cheaper but being 50cents cheaper doesn't have any reason to turn 1min to 1month. So being the enthusiastic me, i started to butt in and restrict on the idea but obviously, seniors are seniors and always ditch the 'younger ones'. So i got pushed off and they continued their discussion. I played the innocent role and left them alone. The next week, as i predicted, the number of customers we recieved can be counted with one hand. I don't wish to critisize but i really feel that this isn't going to work out. I've recieved comments like "There are too little themes" or "Why does it take one month?" and even "Why do you only have a Man U theme why not Chelsea or liverpool! This is bias!". Sigh... How am i going to make it through? Anybody have any ideas we can use to make our neoprints sound more "tech-savvy" because we're really doing something too simple and "easy". We need something to attract attention. Some unique feature of Adobe Photoshop that normal neoprint booths do not have. Any body have any ideas?

From looking just one glance at the stickman i know something is already wrong here and Dream is right. Your stickman is distorted. Referring back to Dream's idea, you should also increase the thickness of your line and make your head smaller. When i make my stickmen i usually keep with these few facts: 1. The palm must be able to cover the stickman's face 2. Do not make a bend on the leg just for the ankle and foot. It will look horrible. 3. No eyes, mouth, ears, nose. Only emotion colors like red and blue. I know myself doing stickman in Flash is a bit harder to do than in normal image editing software like Macromedia Fireworks or Adobe Photoshop. This stickman here that i did was done in Fireworks. Well of course i don't consider my works perfect but i really love the meditating thing. It was a last minute pullover and i actually did it.

Runescape is a very complex game and differs greatly from other RPG games. Even though i myself think that Runescape has really bad graphics, i still believe that the Runescape admins had worked very hard to bring it all together. I remember when i first started, it was quite fun! You could play it anywhere with an internet connection, especially school. So i got addicted but after you reach around level 40, you realise it is getting boring because everything is the same. All the magic spells, all the fighting, all the same. But then now i realise that Runescape is a web-browser-based game that is powered by Java and i think: Not many have tried to use Java to operate a browser-based game before and Runescape is one of its-kind. So we cannot judje Runescape by how you look at it but what it takes to make it and whatever complicated code they've got in there!

I'm sorry for wasting a post but i forgot to say that i can't find a suitable image as a logo for the Xisto - Web Hosting banner. So i temporarily put a grey ellipse there till I'm able to get the logo for Xisto - Web Hosting because my drawing skills are very good. If someone can send me the official logo of Xisto - Web Hosting I'll be really thankful.

MUD stands for Multi-user dungeon/domain/dimension. It is a text-based game whereas you are able to do many other things normal games just can't even hope to be able to do. Thats because whatever you do, whatever you see is totally written in text. Yep! No kidding ALL text. But its not all that boring, one who bears a huge imagination would really like MUDs. I myself like MUDs because well i like to read books! So you want to play a MUD but don't know where to start? I'd recommend starting out with Ancient Anguish until you become a more dedicated mudder then move on to Achaea. Why? Because Achaea's members are so dedicated that you can never say a word of modern existence in the game (e.g MSN messenger, Google, Computers). It is as if you ARE in the game itself. I sometimes even forget I'm sitting on a chair staring at a screen! Of course addiction, being engrossed and overly obsessed too much is not a problem. Turn off your pop-up blocker and make sure those ads come through!
